Mother Nature must have finally heard our pleas! This week, Justin and Isabelle swap the snow shovels for sunglasses as they discuss the predicted 40-degree weekend "heatwave." Between debating the best Super Bowl snacks and commiserating over their shared (and slightly painful) status as Chicago Bears fans, the duo dives into a packed agenda for the Cedar Rapids Community School District.
In this episode:
- Registration is Live: It’s a major milestone! We break down the official opening of K-12 New Student Registration and the Magnet School Lottery (running now through February 21st).
- The Big Homecoming: We celebrate the return of Darius Ballard to the halls of Washington High School as he transitions from Chief of HR back to his roots as a Warrior Principal.
- Redesign Real Talk: With the February 9th Board Meeting approaching, we clear up the rumors regarding the School Redesign process. Find out what will be discussed—and why there are no closure votes happening this Monday.
- Championship Caliber: A massive shoutout to our powerhouse student-athletes! We list the state-bound qualifiers for Girls Wrestling (Jefferson, Kennedy, and Washington) and Girls Bowling (Kennedy).
- Around the District: From cosmetology experiments at McKinley to 3rd-grade clay creations at the library, we highlight the amazing work happening in our classrooms.
