Episode 7:  Igniting Inner Fire: Tantra, Confidence, and Facing Family and Friends

In this powerful and heart-opening episode, Elle Luna Quinn joins us to explore the deeply personal journey of embracing a Tantra practice — not just in private, but in the face of family and friends who may not understand. Elle shares her own story of navigating judgment, misunderstanding, and the quiet resistance that can come from those closest to us when we choose a path of deeper spiritual and sensual awakening.

With passion and clarity, Elle guides us through what it means to light your inner fire of confidence — the sacred flame that allows you to stand strong in your truth, even when it feels uncomfortable. She speaks candidly about the importance of self-acceptance, boundaries, and radical compassion, especially when you're walking a path less traveled.

Whether you're new to Tantra or deep in your practice, this conversation is an invitation to reclaim your voice, trust your path, and remember that your authenticity is more powerful than anyone’s approval.

"I want people to stop walking through life disconnected from themselves."

SPEAKER_00

Welcome to Midnight Confession. I'm your host, Al Q. I'm busy sitting on my sofa watching the snow falling here in Alberta. It's so beautiful. I want to talk about acceptance from family and friends. So you know I am a tantric practitioner, so I help couples and individuals um reconnect to themselves sexually, um, and sensually and with who they are to their core, like their root life. Like I help them find and discover that with themselves within themselves. And every experience that I have with my clients, it's always the same thing. That they feel reconnected to themselves, they feel heard and seen, they feel like they can express themselves without being judged for their desires and needs, their wants, their fantasies, their kinks. And you know what? I found that so absolutely beautiful. Because I'm there to accept them for who they are wholly, like their whole self, their whole body, their mind, their soul, everything about who they are, even the thoughts and feelings that they have. Because accepting who you are individually, when you look in the mirror and you accept everything about yourself, it has so much power to give to you. It's like taking back all that power that your family, friends, strangers, co-workers, your boss, anyone has like passed shame or judgment or try to knock you down a fence because you're busy shining who you are. So let's talk about acceptance. And this is a big topic. I the reason why I'm bringing it up is because what I do for work, there's people in my life that don't, and I'm gonna be totally honest with you, don't accept what I do. They don't, they uh have either judged me or they've shamed me or they ask, um, am I being forced to do this? And or um it's wrong. And I sit here and I laugh. Um, I've been wanting to do this for a very, very long time, and you know, I kept pushing and pushing it back and back and back not to do it. Because you know, you get told you those beliefs from family or friends saying, like, no, no, no, it's wrong, it's wrong, it's wrong, and it's the whole time. And you know what? This is when you get to say fuck it. You can say fuck it to the family, fuck it to the friends, fuck it to everyone. Yes, my apologies, yes, I'm swearing. Because you know why you just have to, unfortunately, you have to just say fuck it because if you keep denying your needs, your wants, your desires, does not design who you are and what you love to do as a passion that gives you such a fire in every day that you do that practice, whether it's tantra, or maybe you're a stripper, maybe you're an escort, maybe you a companion to someone, or maybe you just like you do construction work, or you work in an office job, or you paint, you draw, you make um what you call comics, you do anything, you do tarot, you do readings for people, you do massage therapy, you do skip the dishes. It's like it's anything you work on cards. It's like just think of anything that you want to do. You want to write a novel, a book, a story, and someone turns around and says no to you. Push back. I'm telling you now from the bottom of my heart and soul in the tips of my toes and fingers on the top of my freaking head. I'm telling you to say no. Just say no and push. Push yourself to where you want to do. If you have the passion, you have the drive of connecting to who you are, finding and discovering who you are, finding out that damn it, I really love doing what I do. What is stopping you from doing it? I am seeing people create something so beautiful. This is not tantra, this is like just seen on like um from friends who sent me this is what they're doing, or a friend is sending something else that another friend is doing, and I'm gonna bring up one of them. Um one does um magic with bubbles. Like, can you imagine like something getting told like yeah, I'm gonna create magic with bubbles? Like, it's literally bubbles, and I watch the video of it, and I'm just like, this is so freaking cool. So he just like creates all this magic with bubbles, and it's this beautiful show that he presents, and it's got music and everything, and he's it's just like a nice fire, and and it it's literally just imagine bubbles like foam and everything, and just like it's these bubbles, and he just makes them float. It's just pure magic. Now you take that an idea, and you create it. It's like pure magic right there, and you know what? That person just like went for it, and he created something that he loves doing. So, what I'm saying is if you do anything, maybe you're a designer, maybe you do websites, you do like your coach, anything, you're a sex therapist, like or in my line of work doing tantric body work massages because you know it heals from the trauma of people to the present moment to be really present with themselves, to like cancel, clear any sexual outcome that you bad outcome that you may have had, so you can actually reconnect to yourself. So, what I'm saying here is accept who you are and stand in that freaking mirror in front of you. Touch your heart with one of your hands, like your left or your right, and tell yourself and tell yourself, you know what? This is me, this is who I am, this is how I dress, this is how I put my makeup on, how you dress, how you put your makeup on, um, what you wear, how you speak. I want you to just embrace you, accept you, because oh my god, you're all absolutely incredible, and I will tell my clients every step they come into my my space, they come into my room, my practice with a Christmas tree on every single day for the for the whole year. See my tantra box, my everything, my plants, my candles, my table setup. Everything for everything here is present for them. Even anything that is kinky that they are looking for, we're getting curious because they can't ask for it, they can't express it, they can't tell anyone about it. I I want you to express yourselves. I want you to accept you when you stand on my room and be like, yeah, this is me, this is who I am, and just say, seriously, fuck it. Fuck everyone who judges you, who shame you, who puts you in a box. And no, none of my episodes I have sworn. This is like I think the first episode I have actually sworn because if this topic really fueled me up, because it's like no, for once, just say no, and accept you. And you may not like this episode, you know what? That's okay, I accept that. That's totally fine. But if the small, small part of you accepts the fact that only you smokes, Allah's got a point here. I've always wanted to do this. Why didn't I do it? And you can look back into your your past, you're looking back to your family, it's like, oh wow, that family member said no, that friend said no, you can't do that. Oh, that's wrong. Oh no, it it just puts you in this box. Your needs, your wants, your desires, your fantasies, your drive in a box. So why the fuck do people put you in a box? Stop, accept who you are, stick out of that box, smash it with a hammer, burn it, do anything you need to do to get out of that box and actually look at yourself in the mirror, touch your beautiful heart, and actually explore who you are. Explore your passions, explore your desires, your needs, your wants. Just do it. You never know what's gonna happen. You never know. I have people in my life who are my family, who've accepted, who continue to accept the fact of what I do. The only thing they ever ask is if I'm happy and do I love what I do. And when I express what I do, they see so much light and so much fire in me that they're like, damn. Everybody needs to know what I do because of how I express, how I help people, how why I feel people, how I love them to love them fully, and I just find it so amazing. I have friends tell me um that I've done practice with um with them, uh tantric practice with them, and they just respond back like why is there not more of this in the world? If I knew this when I was a teenager or in my 20s or my 30s, my 40s, 50s, 60s, and so plus more, if my sex life would have been different, or um my energy would be different, my sensuality, everything, my sexuality would have been woken up sooner. Like that's what I keep hearing over and over from people I connect with, from friends to clients. It is just absolutely amazing to hear, and they like tell me the same thing. L, you're onto something. Because I take my teachings, my books that I read, my um my even my audiobooks that I also listen to because I listened to all the tantric masters, and I still continue listening to my tantric master teacher who took me under her wing and taught me, and then I just allowed myself to blossom because she said now it's time for you to just bloom, it's time for you just to create, and I have so much knowledge in my head, in my heart about this. Every time I have someone come in, it's just like I know exactly what I'm doing, I know what I'm saying, because it makes me so happy, it gives me so much passion. Because you know what? At the end of the session, when it's two, three, or four or five hours with the client, they always leave in bliss, they leave with more of a stronger connection to who they are, they leave feeling like they've never felt before. Something has just awoken them from inside, and you know what that is? It's acceptance of who they are because I was there to accept them. So I want you to go today. I want you to start today looking at the mirror, whether you're listening to this in the car, look at your rear view mirror, please make sure you're not driving while you do this. Just look in the mirror, look in the rearview mirror, look at anything type of mirror that you may have, and just see how incredible you are. And choose your life, choose your passion, choose who you are. And your passion doesn't have to be what you do for work. Your passion can be many things. You you could be working and then doing a different passion. Passion is like in anything, just allow it to bloom in all areas of your life. Don't be shy. Don't allow shame, judgment, or guilt to put you in that box because you're worried about family or friends or anyone else that may judge you and try to knock you down a pig. Because you know what? You could keep doing that over and over and over. Have it like drop every single time. You could. Or you could do the what if and just change it. See how it grows. The world is changing, it is growing in so many different directions. So why not start with yourself? You're your own world. Start with yourself. Just change, just grow, just bloom. Accept who you are. That's what I would love for you to do. I dare you today to look in a mirror and see what I see in you. Whether I've met you or not met you, I see you. I see you for who you are. So please go out there, be fierce, bloom who you are, and just light your fire. Let it go and just let it bloom. Let it explode in this world. I dare you. XO, XO. LQ.
