Pop the bubbly and set a higher bar. We’re stepping into 2026 with a clear lens on discipline, audacity, and accountability—and what it really takes to turn a fresh year into a fruitful one. The celebration is short; the focus is sharp. We talk about cutting the noise, choosing fewer goals, and giving them full energy, while learning when to say no to the trips, trends, and time sinks that dilute results.

Our conversation zeros in on character in the internet age. We unpack a viral moment that crossed a line with a child and use it to explore why bringing back shame—understood as accountability, not cruelty—matters for creators, parents, and anyone with a platform. Clout fades, but choices stick, and kids are watching. We draw a bright line between holding someone accountable and “hate,” and we explain how to repair harm without performing for the algorithm.

Self-care gets a reality check. Boundaries are vital, but hyper-individualism can mask disregard for others. We make the case for community: villages that raise standards, friends who tell you when you’re off, and circles that won’t tolerate constant mess. Discernment becomes a daily practice—reading the room, checking your intention, and aligning your presence online and offline. You don’t need to walk on eggshells; you need to be present, respectful, and bold where it counts.

We close with a practical charge: audit your time, curate your circle, and use audacity as fuel for meaningful action—pitch the brand, start the project, build the table. If you know better, do better, and let the results speak all year long. If this resonated, tap follow, share with a friend who’s leveling up, and drop a review—what’s your non-negotiable for 2026?

Let's pour a little bubbly, you know, a little one-two for the new year. Okay, that's good because I don't want it to spill over.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, I girl. In our last episode, we talked about like great things to bring your friend who's hosting. And I was like, you know what'll be great? A new like set of glassware, like champagne.

SPEAKER_00

I love from Tiffany's. So the gag is grab some glassware from Tiffany's because they're literally the

Gratitude For Listeners And Growth

SPEAKER_00

most perfect luxury gift that's like under $150. Like they're under $100. Like they're super affordable. Time Flying And Doing It Now

SPEAKER_00

in that.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. Yeah. Oh my goodness, bro. I can't believe 2026. Here we are. Yes. Wow. Like, I don't know if you've been on TikTok lately, but what's been trending on my TikTok is that sound that says, and all of a sudden you'll look back and it's gonna be December, but you're no longer 17. And that's how I feel. Like every every time I look up at the calendar, I'm like, How? How?

SPEAKER_00

We're the new adults.

SPEAKER_01

Not only are we adults, but like time is flying.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. It's true what they say. I feel like when you hit your 30s, and I always say that a lot on the podcast, when you're in 30s, but no, I really do feel like the years kind of fly, but it's also a testament to are we really truly living our lives to the fullest? Like, are we really taking advantage of the 365 days that each of us are given for the year? And I think that this year can be a whole lot different. I know last on the last podcast, Crystal and I talked about our new year starting in December. Like your year starts wherever you are. And I think that we've done a lot too. Like, give yourself some grace. Like looking back on your year, look at like the things that you overcame. It may not even just be the opportunities that you've been able to achieve. It I know we always talk about like getting to the next level, but sometimes it's just like making it. You know what I mean? Just getting there, just being able to survive, like making it home. Like those things are like blessings that I feel like people should always just be grateful for. But yeah, girl, I'm I'm excited for this new year. It's gonna be a good one.

SPEAKER_01

I am very excited for this new year. I think last year for myself, I was very like just making it. Just making it. And this year, I refuse to do anything if I'm not putting a hundred percent into it. Like I had a very serious argument with myself recently because I'm like, I keep talking about doing XYZ, and I said I was gonna do this, you know, in September, and here we are now in January. Let's stop having this conversation. Let's start doing. Like, let's stop saying tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow. No, do it now or don't do it at all. Period. Yeah. And that's the energy I'm giving myself. I think last year I was very easy on myself and like, yo, you're going through a lot. Like, just, you know, just roll with the punches, just be happy and be grateful. And this year I'm gonna push myself a little harder in that space, personally. And everybody is in different seasons. Okay. So make sure you pay attention to what that season looks like for you.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Same, I'm echoing the same as you. Like, I'm like, I'm constantly telling myself the same exact thing. Like, this is the time to do it. This is the time for the tough love. Like, I had this is I was joking with one of my really good friends and we were talking about it. Um, and we I was telling her, I was like, honestly, I'll be good if I only go on one trip this year. I'm I don't have to go anywhere. I don't have to do all the things, unless it's

Tough Love And Saying No

SPEAKER_00

like being attached to like opportunities or things that I really see putting me in like the next level. I'm okay with sitting back and doing the work. Like, I don't have to be every and everywhere. I do have one trip that I really want to go on for my birthday. So I'm speaking that into it into existence. Where is it? I want to go to Tokyo, y'all. I want to go to Japan. And I've done the tropical birthdays, I've done the local birthdays. I want to go during the cherry blossom season. I want to go to Japan. I want to go see some fashion. I want to go eat some good food. I want to have some matcha, the real matcha. Bring bring some back for us, please. I got you. I'm gonna bring some back for y'all. But no, I'm with you on that. I'm like tough love. It's like, hey, let's reel it in. This is not fun and games. Like, we are literally like, it's our, we're on a clock. Like, this is our time, and you have to literally how you manage your time and the things that you do, it's going to say volumes about your life. Like it's gonna reflect on how you're living.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I don't know about you, but my early 30s feels a lot like my early 20s, but this time around, I know better. And it's a matter of now doing better because you already know better. Like in your 20s, you had an excuse. You're like, ah, yeah, I'll come 20. You know, I'm just I just got here. I just got in a club. Okay. I literally just got in the club. 21 and over. It feels again very, very like similar, but like, okay, now I know what to do in these situations. Now, now I know how to pivot. Now I know, like, yeah, it's time to lock in. But yeah, 2026 is a year of tw tough love where we're claiming that now. Tough love, but bearing lots of fruit.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Bearing fruit being, I mean, I think this goes into any year. 2026 is definitely rebuking anything negative out of your life. And also just having audacity, like doing all the things that you can do, like without any like thought process or wondering how people are gonna take it, how people are gonna feel. Like, forget what people think, forget how people feel. How are you doing? How do you feel? If it's cringe to them, who cares if it's cringe to you? Like, do it because listen, like, people are gonna look back and be like, wow, she really did this or he really did this and look at where it brought them. So this is not the year to be worried about that.

SPEAKER_01

No, I'm with you, and I love the fact that you bring up audacity. I want to talk about that, but before stay tuned, y'all. Before we get into that, I want to go over a review really quick and then go back into audacity because we need to bring back shame for 2026. Okay. Shame and understanding the difference between audacity and confidence. But I want to go back to that after this review because I want to give you guys a shout out for staying with us for 2025. You know, it's another year in the books for our podcast, bumpy,

Audacity With Purpose

SPEAKER_01

but still consistent. All right. And we're doing it, we're gonna keep doing it, we're gonna keep bringing you different episodes of elevation, we're gonna keep bringing you entertainment in the middle of the week. And for that being said, um, we appreciate you guys. Yes. Thank you guys very much.

SPEAKER_00

Cheers to you guys for being rocking with us since the beginning. Y'all been with us since we were on the couch in the building, okay? We are virtually at home right now. And it may not be like that for the rest of the year. Just stick with us, y'all. Like, we're no matter what atmosphere or what environment we're in, we're always gonna make sure that the messaging is the same. Like positive, uplifting, our POVs on just different things that are coming through the newsline or whatever it is that it's happening. But yes, cheers to you guys. And also echoing that, please like, comment, and subscribe to our shows. We love to hear from you guys on the Speakpipe. It's on our website, elevators.com. If you want to hear any advice that we would give you on the show, if you want to just send us a message or whatever how you're feeling, whatever it is that you may be going through, definitely tap in. And yeah, that's it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. So recently we got a comment that says, love the podcast. I try and watch every episode. Great advice, lovely ladies, awesome show. Big up.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. Big up yourself, big up yourself.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Pim, pimp. Okay. Unfiltered. I have a topic. It's a little dated.

Listener Review And Community

SPEAKER_01

However, I think it aligns very much with bring back shame. And we we just really need to do that these days, especially like just given the internet and like how people like just do things so like carelessly and just like flow in the world like nobody's watching, and like just really careless and like doing things for click and clout and all sorts of things. Anyways, fast forward. So we had already had planned to talk about like bringing back shame or whatever, and then like two weeks ago, I don't know if you saw on social media, but like there was like the streamer who was like walking into this restaurant or whatever, and then Ariana and G Herbal's son went to talk to him. And Yosan is his name, and he went to talk to the streamer and he was like, yo, my dad. Like he was just about to say, like, yo, my dad, like G Herbal. You could tell, like, he absolutely loves sex. And the streamer was like, yo, what up, little bro? Like, marry a girl that's taller than you. And like kept walking. Wait, he said what? Say that again? He said, like, yo, what up, little bro? Like, marry a girl that's taller than you, and then kept walking. But like the little boy, Yo-San was asking him for a picture. He was like, Yo, can I get a picture of my dad? And like the guy cut him off. Yo, san's seven. Okay, he's seven years old. Oh my god. However, I'm not even a mama yet. And I like my blood was rushing because why was that? Why was that ever funny? Why was that ever funny? You're a grown

Bring Back Shame, Not Clout

SPEAKER_01

man. Like, why is that ever funny? Like, you don't know what that moment A, what you said could have sat with that little kid for a long time, but B, how you brush him off. And then the guy, the streamer goes on social media, like, yo, my bad herb, like, I didn't know that was your boy. Didn't matter whose boy it was. Hello. It didn't matter. It was a kid, and he literally only apologized because it was G Herbal's son, which is absolutely pathetic. Like, we we do bring chambers from people. Bring chambers to bring canceling people. Because for you to have done that and then you're like streaming on the internet and you thought that was funny, and like who knows? Like, people probably clip it and it's gonna live on the internet for life. And the little kid, like, you don't know how that there's so many different moments that mold kids into who they are as adult and that like really burn in their memory and resonate with them. And for me, like as a kid who was very shy growing up, or at least I pretended to be shy, certain things like that, like that would have stuck with me. And it would have made me even more quiet. You get what I'm saying? Like, you just never know how a moment could affect a kid like that. And yeah, I just think we need to bring back shame because girl, I was so I was so hot.

SPEAKER_00

Like been upset too. No, because yeah, you don't play with kids like that. And then and another thing, like, I feel like the internet popularity thing is sometimes getting out of control. I feel like people use their internet personality and let it take over. Like, this is a kid you're talking to. Like, these are the kids, by the way, the kids are the ones that I feel like keep these streamers alive. Like, they're not gonna be like, 'cause they know grown ass adults watching y'all. I have that type of time to be just streaming something all day and all night. Like, the kids are the ones that are keeping like you guys relevant. So I think you have to tap into them as role models. And I get it. Everybody doesn't want to be a role model, and everybody is not a role model. I get that a thousand percent. But like, out of decency and respect, like, you know that that's not okay to say to a kid. Like, also, it just it's just it was uncalled for. He was asking for a picture. Yeah, no. He didn't have to ask for a picture to curve to celebrities.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. But the fact that he you even curved him from asking for a picture, like, you don't know what that could have did to his confidence. Like, you so wrapped up in yourself and being a streamer, and like, you don't even know who you're talking to. Let alone even if it didn't matter, like, even if that wasn't his kid, like, I don't know. I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_00

Even people got in the comments and made him feel the shame that he needs to be.

SPEAKER_01

They sure did, and he publicly apologized, but only because that was G Herbal's son. You know? And I just think that generally too, not only bring back shame, but like have respect for people. Like the janitor to the principal, it does not matter. And this day and age where people, where everybody's so consumed by social media, it is really affecting people's morals and character in terms of like how they respect others and how they were raised. Because your parents could raise you one way and you get on the internet and you so you so thirsty for clout, like now you are this whole other person that you're not even showing your parents respect because they did not raise you like that. You out here I can like boo-boo the fool on the side.

SPEAKER_00

Like no home training. Yeah, yeah, no home training.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Insane. The place that shame comes from has to be like you having lack of respect. Lack of respect for yourself, lack of respect for people around you, lack of respect for things. I don't know. I just feel like a person that just doesn't feel shame just is littering. You know what I mean? Like you just don't care. Like you're just doing things out in the world because you just don't think it's think of how it affects the environment or the things around you. Like I think people who do things like that, they're just not thinking of like the outcome. They think of the current. They can't think of present. They don't think of future. Like, I think the people who we need to bring back shame for, they're literally just, they're in their own la la land and their own world, and they're not like thinking about how their daily actions, their words, the things that they do on a daily basis, how it affects other people. And I think that we definitely need to identify these people. We need to say things to these people because that's the only way that people are gonna learn their mis from their mistakes. Is sometimes the world has to teach you, your environment has to teach you because

Respect, Role Models, And Kids

SPEAKER_00

sometimes you may not have brought been brought up in an upbringing where you were able to have mom, dad, or guardian like kind of show you the way. Like sometimes like the internet might need to teach you. Girl.

SPEAKER_01

And we're not saying let's bring back shame to like make people feel bad, but embarrassed people don't. Bring back shame, bring back shame to bring back accountability. Like there seems to be like no real accountability happening. And accountability means like you're just recognizing where you went wrong and then you're doing better. That doesn't necessarily mean like you're being canceled, whatever the case may be. It means like recognizing, like, oh, I kind of messed up. You right, and this is how I'm gonna fix it moving forward. Because there's also like, for some reason, like a misconception of like accountability being hate. Like, no, baby, nobody's hating on you. They're holding you accountable. Two very different things. But apparently it's like a blurred thin line these days.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so I want to ask a question to you and to anybody listening and watching our podcast. Do we feel like shame has not been brought back because we've kind of disguised it as self-care? Like, do we feel like people are taking self-care to the extreme to where it's like lack for others and solely focused on yourself to the point where you don't care how anything that you do kind of affects other people? Like, do we feel like self-care kind of like has hindered us from like bringing shame back? Immediately, yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, a thousand percent. Because I I think that it's just like a hyper individualism trend that's happening, and within that, you know, we're using self-care as the excuse of being selfish and self-centered, and which co goes hand in hand with like lacking accountability and so on and so forth. I think the root is really hyper-individualism, and that's gonna lead us to a very crazy place. Like, and I am all for boundaries and so on and so forth, but I really do think, I mean, like, let's let's look at history. There's no, we're here today because of villages. Villages became communities, communities become cities, and so on and so forth. There is no way in this world that you're surviving alone individually, and I am a team player. I am not into that hyper individualism, self-centered, everything's about me sort of thing. I'm very much like calling my friend, like, tell me if I'm tripping. You know, like tell me if I'm wrong, you know, or tell or give me a different perspective, not because I need somebody to always correct me, but because there is an inkling in my stomach that's telling me, mm-hmm, you personally possibly could have did better. You know, like there's an intuition in me that says, maybe here's somebody else's perspective, you know? And I think that it really does go hand in hand with accountability and shame and all these things. Who was it? I think you know what? It was a sermon that I was listening to from the pastor that I absolutely love. And in his sermon, he says, like, he knows what the fame of the pastor. His I think it's Mike or Michael and the church. Which is called FCBC and it's um out of New York City. They live stream every Sunday. It's amazing. And he ooh, last Sunday, the Sunday before Christmas,

Shame Vs Accountability

SPEAKER_01

oh my God. Really? Yes, he's so good. You gotta send that to me.

SPEAKER_00

By the way, I love that. Sending your friends sermons is a love language. Do it, please.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. It really is. And he basically, in one of his sermons, he talks about like how he felt so shameful whenever he got bad grades or got in trouble in school because on the walk home, the neighbors would say, Hey, I heard you got in trouble. And he heard it from one or two different neighbors who were telling him on the way home, like, you don't be doing that. Like you go to school, you learn, you don't be in there getting in trouble, blah, blah, blah. But they're holding him accountable. And he was like, That's a village. So by the time he got home, hearing it from his parents was the icing on the cake. And after that point, he really didn't want to be in trouble again because he felt so ashamed, you know? And not ashamed to, and again, this is like, we live in a very sensitive time. So people are probably gonna be like, well, why do you want somebody to feel ashamed? And because sometimes people need to feel ashamed, okay? To correct things. You know what I mean? So, anyways, he talked about that a lot. And that's why I feel like all that stuff really does go hand in hand with like shame, hyper-individualism, like not having a village and and not wanting to be held accountable for your actions.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I agree. I think there should be no such thing as not caring that much. Like, you gotta care about something. You know what I mean? Like, I do think that sometimes we should do, we I get people doing things out loud, but like when it comes at the expense of like making you look good to make someone else look bad or making you feel good to make someone else feel bad, it shouldn't feel good to you. Like, you should have like a gut feeling or an intuition that's just letting you know that whatever it is that you're doing out of the expense of somebody else is not a good thing. So I love that you that you said that because I actually feel bad for for the younger generation because I grew up like that. Like I grew up surrounded around like my parents, my neighbors, like people that, you know, knew my family and family members that would also

Self-Care Or Hyper-Individualism

SPEAKER_00

like kind of like scold me on top of my parents scolding me and it's like, dang, like you had to tell everybody I messed up. Like, you know what I mean? But it's one of those things where, you know, you know that it's not just gonna come from one side. Like everybody, it's gonna hit you from all angles that you need to be on point. So I really feel like we do need to bring that back because I think we're out here in the world living in a space where people are solely focused on themselves and not how their actions or lack thereof affect other people.

SPEAKER_01

And you know what? I said kind of like what you said, like I've always had like you have this inkling feeling, and that, my friends, is called discernment. You need to have good judgment. That does not mean you need to be judgmental, that means you need to have good judgment for yourself, the way you act, the things that you say. Read the room. Read the room. That's what I want us to start doing more for 2026. Read the room, read the writing on the wall. You know what I mean?

SPEAKER_00

I agree. And I think there's a thing as there's such a thing as oversharing too. Like, have you ever like shared something? Or, like, for example, as you related, as it relates to the unfiltered segment that is going into our show topic. Like, I'm wondering if Homeboy felt like he went home, he was like, dang, like I messed up, like did too much. I wish I could go back and like apologize to that kid. By the way, I'm in my 30s and I have that feeling now. Like, I'm like, oh, I didn't hold the door for that person at the grocery store. Dang, like I should have done, like little things like that. Like, that should bother you. And that's what it's called intuition, like, like you mentioned, like, and also discernment. Like, you you understand you're right from wrong. Like you should know you did something wrong. And if you have to be in your head about it after it happened, that's when you know you live in a space where shame doesn't need to be brought back to you. You understand. You know what I mean? But for those people who don't have that feeling or don't have a second thought or an afterthought where they need to call or phone a friend to say, hey, let me get your perspective, we need to bring shame back for you. We need shame to be upon you. We need to lay it on you. You know what I mean? Like, we we need you to feel some type of like responsibility in that case for stuff like that.

SPEAKER_01

I honestly don't want to be surrounded by nobody who does not want to take accountability. Like, and you know why? Because I just feel like, first of all, you shouldn't be running into that many situations where you need to take accountability. That's the first problem. If you find yourself around somebody who is constantly in some mess where it's like, not only are they not taking accountability, but they're always in something, you probably need to remove yourself from being around them because we are far too old. And even if you you're only 21, you were still far too old. All that type of stuff,

Villages, Discernment, And Standards

SPEAKER_01

you leave that shit on the playground. You leave it in high school. Literally. Like, I have not been through no real drama because I mean, since high school. And I would love to keep it that way. You get what I'm saying? So if you're finding yourself surrounded by somebody who literally is just like always in something, yeah, you might gotta get from around that person. And I also want to say, like, there's such a balance here because don't be that friend who is constantly holding somebody accountable, unnecessarily. You get what I'm saying? Like, life is really about balance. You gotta pick your battles. You know, pick the battles over the war.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and I think that in 2026 is so powerful that we're having this conversation. These types of things are gonna cost you. Like, not to be like too deep, but this could cost you your life. You know what I mean? Like the little small things that you do, like this person can lose out on, you can lose out on brand deals, you can lose out on opportunities, you could lose out on friends, on family. Like, you can really like hurt certain things that mean a lot to you by not taking these little steps of precaution to be more observant of your surrounding. Just because you can do something doesn't mean you should do it. Just because you know you have the ability to do whatever it is you want. I know we talk a lot about like free will on our show. Just have but just because we have the free will to do things doesn't mean you should. And you should think of the aftermath of that. Like, what are the after effects? Like, how is this gonna affect my future? Is it gonna benefit it? Or if it's not, and it's down to the littlest of things. So I think in this new year, we really have to take inventory of just our lives, our lives online. Because I feel like, you know, everybody, especially us as content creators, like we have a presence online, but like there are young girls, there are young men, there are people that are just watching your content. And like, how is it, you know, providing something to them? Is it giving them self-confidence? Is it giving them resources? Is it helping them in any way, or is it tearing them down? Because if it's doing that, then we need to be re-evaluating the whole scenario here.

SPEAKER_01

I think, you know, it's so funny. I think we we recently talked about this just offline. It's like, even if you're not as, you know, an influencer or a content creator or on social media, maybe you were just going to work, or maybe you're an entrepreneur who's not on social media. Like you have to be cognizant of how you show up. I was just telling Amanda, like, as a business owner who is in the field of like empowering other women, like, and and and you know, I have a social club surrounded by like really elevating black and brown women. I am very cognizant about how I show up and only trying to show up the best version of myself. So sometimes, like, and to really explain what I'm saying, like we were talking about how gone into the people, gone into the people. Yeah, I know. You see me, I was finding it, finding my words. Finding my words, literally. So basically, like sometimes you already know, like, we we don't all be in the mood to be outside socializing and so on and so forth. And I was telling Amanda, like, whenever I go out, I

have to make a very mindful decision to put my social hat on because I need to show up as my best self as a business owner. And as a business owner who is very aware of the field she's in. And as a business owner who doesn't want anybody to ever misunderstand a short hello or short, like a short conversation as, you know, being a mean girl or whatever the case may be, if that's not my intention. If it's my intention, you go know. But because, you know, I'm also in the business of like, let's be organic. And sometimes you click with people, sometimes you don't. And that's just real life, right? Like, we're not gonna pretend like you're gonna get along with everybody. However, you know, I'm very cognizant of like showing up as my best self when I step into different social settings because, you know, I have discernment. I understand, okay, you know, this situation could make me look like XYZ, and I want to be sure that I do anything and everything that I can to not be perceived that way. You know, of course, you cannot control everybody. This is not an episode that's influencing you to walk on eggshells whatsoever. This is just influencing you to be intentional and present with yourself, wherever you are.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I love that you said that. And also, I think to take it a step further, if you ever are in the midst of somebody that may be giving you a short hello or maybe giving you energy that may not resonate with what you think is something positive or good, don't always run to the negative. Like, I think that we also have to do a better job with understanding that sometimes you're catching people on the go, sometimes you're catching people on a bad day, sometimes you're catching people with a flat tire, sometimes you're catching people with a family issue. Like you you never know where you find somebody. So I always say like you have to operate in a space of grace on both ends. Like I feel like some people are quick to like write people off, but like you should like maybe take a second and say, oh, maybe that wasn't the best person's best, you know, interaction the first time, but like maybe give it another opportunity.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, no, I love that you said that. I think you and I had a conversation about an influencer one time. We're not gonna say the name, but I think you have you was like, oh, well, how is she? Because I heard, you know, she's a little, she's not that nice. And then do you remember what I'm talking about?

SPEAKER_00

I think so, yeah, yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And we were, and I was like, oh, well, you know, she's like, she'd never perceived herself to be a bubbly person, but she's not. I agree. No, we both agree. We both agree. Yeah, we agreed on that. Yeah, yeah. And we were like, yeah. So that's like interesting that somebody would say that she's not nice. She's just not bubbly. And I think that goes to what you're saying. It's like, yeah, you might not catch somebody in their, you know, you might catch somebody who's A on the fly and B, you might be perceiving them to be a certain way that they're actually not. And it was funny to hear

Expectations, Perception, And Grace

SPEAKER_01

that, and I bring it up because it was like funny to hear that it's funny to hear like how sometimes people have a certain expectation of others that they have no business having.

SPEAKER_00

I'm so glad you're saying this because I feel like, and again, this conversation relates to shame, right? So I think that we all understand what it is if we need like the Webster dictionary to see like what that means. But like basically we're talking about knowing when it gets down to the like elementary school version, like knowing what's right from wrong, calling it out, and like hopefully that person changing the behavior, right? But I love that you're saying this because I find myself sometimes when I'm like talking to my partner or certain friends, I sometimes expect people to react a certain way that I would. And I noticed that I started like inflicting that on people by saying, like, oh, well, I thought you were gonna say it like this, or oh, I thought you would have reacted like this. And I've literally had like, like my boyfriend say to me, like, you want me to react the way that you would, but that's not fair, right? So, like, sometimes you have to understand that some people may not give you that energy that you're expecting from them because that's just not who they are. Some people are not, like we just mentioned, bubbly and friendly, but that doesn't mean they're a bad person. That just means that that's just not their ministry. Like, that's just not their thing. And I think it's okay to meet people where they're at. Like, I'm saying all that to say, like, okay, this is how this person is. Good. Does it register with me? No, but it's okay. That's them. This is me, and I'm gonna continue to move on in the world. Now, the shame comes in when it's disrespect and it's like things that are just crossing the line. That's when we have to cut it and be like, okay, let's do this. But I think that's just knowing what's for you and what's not for you. And if it's not for you, that's them. This is me. I'm gonna go about my business as long as it's not interrupting my personal world and my personal space, you're good.

SPEAKER_01

And honestly, we say all this to say, like, again, this doesn't mean walk on eggshells. Please be yourself. I think the most important part about like what we're saying is intention. Like, be very intentional this year, is what we're promoting. Be very cognizant this year and be very present, but also not only confidence, but like have audacity this year. You know, have audacity in a good positive way to help you elevate.

SPEAKER_00

That's right. I agree. Have audacity, and this is gonna be the best year yet. Like, this year is going to be exactly what you put your mind to, how you speak to it. It's going to be an amazing year.
