Dr. H was accused of threatening two staff members, one of whom was also his patient, with a loaded hypodermic needle when dissatisfied with their performance. These actions led to criminal charges, and in 2018, Dr. H pled guilty to two counts of assault with a weapon. Consequently, the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) conducted disciplinary hearings, resulting in a five-month suspension of his dental license, mandatory completion of an ethics program, and a $15,000 fine. This case underscores the critical importance of maintaining professional and ethical conduct within healthcare settings.
