The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him,
and he delivers them. -Psalm 34:7 (NIV)
The primary Hebrew word translated as "fear of the Lord" is yir'ah (יִרְאָה), which most commonly refers to a profound awe, reverence, or respect rather than cringing terror.
