In this mini-episode of Soul Led Creative Women, Sam Horton reads an original poem taken from a personal reflective creative moment of her every day life.

This one is titled "Seasons Know"

And asks the question:
What part of your life is asking to be gently let go—so something softer, wiser, and more true can take its place in your next season?

Sam says: As we move through different stages of life, there’s a kind of wisdom and warmth that comes with the shift—a different kind of beauty in the calm, the reflection, and the gentle glow of what we’ve learned along the way. It’s a quiet celebration of embracing the change, rather than resisting it.

Take care,
Sam x

Ep 52: Seasons Know
===

[00:00:00]

Hey, Sam here. This is a bonus mini episode featuring one of my substack poems. this episode is only a few minutes long, but I hope it brightens your day in some way. So the seasons are changing here in sunny Queensland, and although the winters here are very mild, the most notable shift in seasons I think is when autumn starts to settle in. And we are really preparing for winter. It's when the air conditioners stop running and the fans stop blasting cool air.

And when the world seems to cool down and the sun is welcomed, rather than being avoided. And this poem today, is really a gentle reflection on the changing of seasons, not just in the weather, but in ourselves. It captures that beautiful in-between time when the fierce. [00:01:00] Burning energy of summer begins to soften, giving way to the cooler quieter tones of autumn winter.

There's something deeply comforting about the way nature teaches us to slow down, to let go of what was vibrant and urgent, and to find peace and stillness and change. And at its heart, the poem is also about the seasons of life. You know,just like summer, can't last forever.

Neither can the fast-paced, high energy moments of our own lives, and that's okay. As we move through different stages, there's a kind of wisdom and a warmth that comes with the shift, a different kind of beauty in the calm, the reflection, and the gentle glow of what we've learned along the way.

It's a quiet celebration of embracing the change rather than resisting it.

Now for the poem, enjoy.

[00:02:00] Seasons. Know the blaze that scorched the world to gold now warms the edges warm and old. The breeze has learned a softer song. A whisper says it won't be long. The leaves begin their secret flight, like paper boats that catch the light. The world slows down, begins to sway, and gently folds the summer away.

So too do we in time let go of things. Once bright, once fast, once bold, we trade the heat for something mild. The rush of youth for something wild, but quiet, deep and wise with age. A gentler dance upon the stage.

The laughter changes not to fade, but bloom, indifferent, light and shade. [00:03:00] Let autumn bow as winter wakes and share the warmth that stillness makes. Each change a chance, each breath apart of seasons turning in the heart.
