In this mini-episode of Soul Led Creative Women, Sam Horton reads an original poem taken from a personal reflective creative moment of her every day life.

This one is titled "Honouring Truth"

And asks the question:
What are the layers that no longer fit, the ones wrapped tightly around that now feel more like cages than protection? If your soul had the freedom to take flight today, where would it lead?

Sam says: At its heart, the poem reveals that truth requires courage, a lonely faith in what is not yet visible, and a deep devotion to the self that waits beneath the layers. It reminds us that living with integrity is an inside job, a continual choosing of self-honesty over fear, of power over shame, of freedom over conformity. And in that choice lies a rebirth, a new way of seeing, being, and celebrating what is authentically true.

Take care,
Sam x

Ep 79: Honouring Truth

[00:00:00] Hey, Sam here. This is a bonus mini episode featuring one of my substack poems. this episode is only a few minutes long, but I hope it brightens your day in some way. This poem, honoring Truth carries the fierce, yet tender energy of liberation. The moment when the soul no longer accepts being bound by silence, fear. or the weight of old stories, it tells of the sacred shedding of what has kept you small, the masks, the chains, the illusions that once felt protective, but now suffocate you through imagery of dissolving, tearing away and unbinding.

It shows that integrity is not about perfection, but about daring to rise above to strip back. To what is real and to finally claim the flight the soul was always meant to [00:01:00] take At its heart, this poem reveals that truth requires courage, a lonely faith in what is not yet visible and a deep devotion to the self that waits beneath the layers.

It reminds us that living with integrity is an inside job. A continual choosing of self-honesty, over fear of power, over shame, of freedom over conformity. And in that choice lies a rebirth, a new way of seeing, being, and celebrating what is authentically true. So as you're listening to the poem, I invite you to reflect what are the layers that no longer fit you?

The ones wrapped tightly around that now feel more like cages than protection. If your soul had the freedom to take flight today, where would it lead? Now for the poem, enjoy

honoring truth. [00:02:00] There comes a moment, you rise above and shed the layers tightly fitted, wrapped around you like a glove. The weight of all that's kept you small. Dissolving disappearing, revealing all the quiet nose, the silenced voice, the dreams you hid behind. Fears vice the masks and costumes worn so long, no longer fit or ripped and torn.

Instead, a gentle whisper calls from deep within your inner walls. It asks, are these chains really yours? Are these stories truth or cause? Must these shadows hide from light or can they morph and change to [00:03:00] bright? Why must your wings be bound so tight when your soul was born to take that flight?

To live in truth, not bound by shame requires lonely faith in what does not yet have a name to stand bare, tall and true, undaunted ready and whole through and through this kind of power is not a fluke. It's an inside job, A commitment, a celebration of truth. Each time you choose this way of being, you will be rewarded with a new way of seeing a sacred shift, a melting away, a rebirth of sorts, paving a new way. Hey, Sam here.
