What if the greatest masterpiece your creative practice ever creates... is you?
In this short poetry episode, I share Beauty in the Fight, a reflection on the quiet ways creativity carries us through life's seasons. It's a thank you to the paint, charcoal and creative process that have helped me navigate uncertainty, disappointment, joy and growth—not by fixing life's challenges, but by helping me meet them with greater honesty and self-compassion.
If you've ever wondered why creativity feels so deeply woven into your life, I hope these words remind you that sometimes the greatest gift isn't the artwork we create, but the relationship we build with ourselves along the way.
Reflection
Where has creativity helped you find light in a season that once felt impossibly heavy?

ep 124 - poem - beauty in the fight
[00:00:00] So earlier this month, we explored the possibility that creativity isn't simply asking us to make beautiful art. It may be inviting us to become more fully ourselves. That the greatest transformation doesn't always happen on the canvas, but quietly within us as we learn to trust, feel, heal, and keep showing up through the creative process.
This poem is a reflection of that journey. It's a thank you to creativity for holding what words alone often cannot, for giving our emotions somewhere to breathe, our experiences somewhere to land, and our hearts a gentle way to make sense of life's joys and disappointments. it reminds us that creativity isn't just where beauty is created.
Sometimes it's where we discover the beauty that was quietly growing within us all along. Now for the poem. Enjoy
[00:01:00] Beauty in the fight Your capacity for holding what's buried deep inside. Dormant soul whispers quietly waiting for their time. Emotions like a rainbow finding sun after rain. The pain, the aches, the silence finally have their chance again. like a mirror of my insides, a reflection of my truth, an echo in the darkness, a reminder of wisdom that follows youth.
A friend for all the seasons, a life companion for the ride. The brief uninvited rollercoaster you have no choice but to fly. So thank you paint and charcoal, thank you inspiration and delight. Without you, it would be so much harder to turn disappointments into light. To know myself with candor, to know there's beauty in the [00:02:00] fight
