A different shaped heart conversations about disability awareness
The iPad Scholar: Can You Really Do College on a Tablet?
Exciting new beginnings are taking shape despite ongoing challenges! I've launched a women's mental health podcast called "A Heart Cup" (previously "She Is Her"), strategically renamed to improve discovery on Apple Podcasts. This new venture fills the extra time during my recovery period, with episodes dropping Mondays and Fridays and interviews conducted on Sundays. Don't worry - "A Winning Heart" remains my primary focus, and I'm being careful not to overwhelm my team (especially Danielle!) with too many simultaneous projects.
My physical recovery continues at its own pace. The leg is improving gradually but still has a way to go before full healing, which I'm hoping will happen by December. Yesterday was particularly difficult - one of those days where everything seemed to go wrong from morning onward. But today feels much better, reminding me that setbacks are temporary and resilience means moving forward despite occasional rough patches.
Alongside podcast development, I'm making my final attempt at completing a communications degree. This means navigating the familiar challenges of disability accommodations, gathering transcripts, and planning a two-hour meeting with the Office of Disabilities. I'm planning to complete coursework primarily using my iPad, which presents its own challenges (and frustrations about Apple's focus on expensive phones rather than affordable computers for students). Despite these obstacles, I'm determined to make it work this time around. Several interviews are lined up for upcoming episodes, so stay tuned for fresh content! Thank you for following along on this journey of recovery, education, and creative expansion - your support means everything.
Welcome to A Winning Heart, you guys. For those of you that don't know, I have like I have extra time on my hands. I have started a women's mental health podcast and it's called A Heart Cup. And it's called a Heart Cup and, yes, I'm changing the name from she Is Her to a Heart Cup, because heart as in heart, h-e-a-r-t and submitting it everywhere, of course, because it's easier for Apple Podcasts to index. If things start with A, it's easier for Apple Podcasts to index.
Speaker 1:And no, danielle's not helping me with this one. No, danielle's not helping me with this one, because we're going, I have to set up the calendar I have. If I gave Danielle another project, she would probably scream at me, and Danielle's laughing at me because she wouldn't screaming at me. But that would sink a winning heart, which is my main podcast. So I don't want to do it. So it's going to come out Mondays and Fridays. Interviews will be on Sundays. So that is my latest project that I still have to get school organized, and so I will do that today and try and get my last transcript and then talk to the Office of Disabilities. That's always fun talking to the Office of Disabilities, trying to figure that one out. So those who are disabled, and you know that's always fun and getting letters and getting organized for that, but I am doing it for the last and final time and maybe getting messages great after that. But for the last and final time I am getting a communications degree and so yeah, so that's the update on me. The update on my leg is slowly but surely coming down. It's not all the way down, but it's a lot better than it was originally and it's going to take a couple more months to get it all the way down, but I think it's going to be down. I'm hoping by December and I'm hoping by December. So some good vibes for that, but I'm hoping by December.
Speaker 1:Residual from yesterday, that was fun. Yesterday was not my day, was not my day at all, so things just kept happening and happening and happening and you know. So it's residual regionals from yesterday, but today is something that's a pretty much better day and tomorrow will be a good day as well. So far it's been a good week. Just yesterday I got going into a tailspin right from the beginning of today. So we're going to um, we're going to see, and the Apple people keep coming out with new iPhones and new Apple Watches. Of course they don't come out with new iPads, do they? They don't come out with new computers that you can actually afford. Thank you very much, but I'm going to try to do school on iPad, so we'll see how that works.
Speaker 1:That should work successfully, but I need to talk to the Office of Disabilities. I need to talk to the Office of Disabilities, which will be tomorrow's projects, for a good two hours, because I need to see what they want to do with me. So I'm going to get the transcripts today and get that all straight, and then I'm talking to the the transcripts today, get that all straight and then talk to the Office of Disabilities. It's small, but I'm going to let you guys go and then we're going to catch you guys next week and I have a couple of interviews coming up. And then we're going to catch you guys next week and I have a couple interviews coming up, and then we'll go catch you guys next week. So bye, you guys. What a cute he said thank you for following us, thank you for following us, and so I will catch you guys later. Bye you guys, bye.
