A quiet “wow” turned into a hard-earned milestone: 200,000 downloads. We share the win, then get practical about what comes next—two new shows taking shape, a tighter calendar as school begins, and the real work of staying creative while managing complex care. If you’ve ever juggled ambition with recovery, this one will feel close to the bone.

We unpack the purpose behind a new writing podcast grounded in disability perspective—interviews with authors who navigate craft, access, and the messy middle of making books when your energy and pain fluctuate. We also lay out updates on our mental health series, explaining how we design conversations around simple tools, clear language, and routines that stick. On the logistics side, transportation becomes a key theme: the vehicle application, specialist coordination, and why mobility changes everything from clinic visits to recording days. It’s the unglamorous work that makes the creative work possible.

Health updates are candid and specific. We walk through the latest Botox plan for right-leg spasticity, why the left leg waited, and a follow-up window that may include dose changes and a nerve block. There’s an infectious disease visit aimed at slowing recurrent C. diff, plus a pain management approach that pairs Botox with consistent physical therapy and careful tracking of what actually helps. We keep the conversation grounded in function—less tightness, better sleep, more minutes of ease—so progress has a shape you can feel. With a co-host travel window coming up, expect a mix of joint recordings, solo check-ins, and a few author interviews to keep the momentum moving.

If this mix of honesty, craft, and practical care resonates, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs it, and leave a quick review to help others find us. What author or topic should we tackle first? Your suggestions guide the next round of conversations.

SPEAKER_00:

Welcome to a winning point everyone. I um this is unbelievable. Today when we when I checked the stats, it landed up being two K download. Two hundred thousand downloads. Don't know how that happened, but it landed up being 2k downloads, 200,000 downloads, and um I started ink ink with a disability, which is my writing podcast, um my writing podcast with a disabled viewpoint where I'm going to be interviewing awesors and with disabilities and just normal everyday awesome too, just so they can inspire you guys to write books. And so I'm getting all that lined up. I have my mental health podcast, which is out to a mind a mindful meet with uh me, and then um I am doing all that, plus I am trying to organize school, school starts on October 23rd, and then I am also organize getting a vehicle. So school and wheels and all that stuff. So um I have to finish out my application for the vehicle, and I have to finish out talking to um the authors of special ed OJ on that. And so school wills and podcasting, that's what we're up to, and so we're this is going to be a really short episode because um, yeah, just because I'm trying to get everything organized, and so welcome to Monday, you guys. And Monday as we recall this, and so and oh, I forgot to tell you, they um did my Botox, they did um my right leg, not my left, uh, because the doctor didn't feel like it was necessary. Now I wanted my left, but the doctor didn't feel it was necessary, so I go on the doctor's guidance. I don't make my own decisions on that one. And then um, and then I'm trying to have a meeting with them in um six weeks to organize to get a higher dose and organize a nerve block to get a higher dose of Botox. So we'll see how that goes. And um I have a meeting with infectious disease to slow this um C diff down, and it's lovely slowing C diff down. I'll be doing that um privately. I'll be taking films for the fingle matter trance. I'll just learn along the way how this all works, and then we'll see. And then um so I have that. I also have a meeting with pain management because of my injury, and I am slowly working on getting it down. It's coming down, but it's tight and yeah, it's tight and it's fun, and it's not fun at the same time. And so I'm slowly but surely working on getting my leg down and getting my leg release, and with Botox and PT, that's the only thing they say I can do. So Botox and PT, that's what I'm doing, but I'm working on getting my leg down, and so I will let Daniel lead us out, and we will talk to you guys later. Thank you for following us, as she said, thank you for following us. So, um, Daniel, when do you leave? So I still get you for a couple weeks. One more. Well we'll do uh uh episode together and I may do a couple solo episodes, you guys. Yeah, plays with Mickey and many mouths on the cruise, lucky duck here. Yeah, uh yeah, I we'll probably do a couple solo episodes. Anyway, bye you guys, and we'll catch I'll catch you with a couple interviews and see how this podcast rolls. Bye you guys. Bye.
