Dr. Kendall Yamamoto

Dr. Kendall Yamamoto is an organizational behavior scholar at the University of Virginia’s Frank Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. She studies how people work together across differences in identity, status, and social position, and how those differences shape collaboration, conflict, inclusion, and everyday experiences at work.

Kendall holds a Ph.D. in Management from the University of Texas at Austin and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Entrepreneurship from the University of Washington. Before graduate school, she worked in leadership development consulting. She is especially interested in partnering with organizations to understand and address challenges related to collaboration, leadership, inclusion, and working across differences.

On Career Contrast, Kendall brings a research-based perspective on careers, leadership, workplace dynamics, and the day-to-day realities of different career paths.
