Highway to Well
Hi and welcome to Highway to Well's first podcast series all about Inspirational people! I’m Sally Parkinson and I’ll be your host chatting to many people who have inspired me along the way. I’m really excited to share with you some incredible people that I’ve met on my journey, find out what motivates them and also find out who has inspired them.
Highway to Well was born last year. After caring for my mum through her journey with Dementia, I realised how much I had neglected my own well-being. Watching my parents struggle without the retirement they deserved, largely due to health issues, made me see the importance of taking charge of our health today so we can enjoy life tomorrow.
Throughout that journey with Mum I’ve been fortunate enough to meet people who have inspired me in many different ways. Some are from the fitness world, showing me the value of hard work and commitment. Others are alternative healers, who have opened my eyes to new ways of thinking about health and life balance. I’m also inspired by self-employed people I know personally, who have faced big challenges and found ways to overcome them to reach their goals. Each of these individuals has taught me something important and motivated me to keep going, no matter what obstacles I face.
We’ll be chatting and sharing stories about life in general and the hurdles we’ve faced along the way. How we stay positive and deal with challenges like imposter syndrome and confidence. We’ll be asking what makes life interesting, how do we cope with the pressures of everyday life, making time for eating well and that all important work/life balance.
I can’t wait to get started, I know that there will be some laughs along the way, some amazing tips and I hope that you will find at least one golden nugget of information in each episode that will help you on your journey. So grab a cuppa, get comfy and enjoy the show.

The conversation navigates through her personal experiences and beliefs, emphasising the importance of nutrition, holistic health, and the interconnection of mind, body, and emotions. She describes her transition from traditional physiotherapy to incorporating somatic experiencing for trauma awareness and highlights the essential role of intuition in both her professional practice and personal life. Tanya also shares inspiring stories about her mother's resilience and the lessons learned from her journey, aiming to encourage others to take ownership of their health and trust their gut feelings.
