Charlie Kirk was assassinated September 10, 2025. I offer my thoughts in this episode.
I would like to add and apologize that I made an error about the date the The Charlie Kirk Show aired. It did not air the day following his assassination. It actually aired two days later. I want to extend my sincerest apologies to Erika Kirk and The Charlie Kirk Show.

Welcome to Homeschool Horizons. I'm Yvette, your host. I was debating very heavily whether or not to publish an episode this week. The last episode I had shared with you all the wonderful news about us defeating AB-84. Then, on Wednesday, September 10th, Charlie Kirk was assassinated. Thank you so much. Kirk emphasized that her husband's legacy would not end. She is determined to keep it alive and to keep Turning Point USA going because that is what her husband would want. The Turning Point USA staff members aired live on the Charlie Kirk show the day after his assassination. They decided to do the show because that is what Charlie would have wanted. They left a chair empty for Charlie. They barely got through the show, but they did it. Both Erica Kirk and Turning Point USA spoke about Charlie Kirk's passion. This led to my decision to go ahead and continue with my weekly podcast. Charlie Kirk was a patriot, a young family man, and most important of all, a follower of Jesus. Charlie was also pro-homeschool. I wanted to share something that I saw someone post on Facebook this past week about something he said about homeschoolers. He said that critics of homeschooling might one day be applying for jobs from homeschool students, Smarter. Wiser. Happier. More purposeful. Less corrupted. More understanding. More battle-ready. Better prepared. Less confused. More biblical. More grounded. More Christlike. Charlie wasn't perfect. He never claimed to be. None of us are. We are all sinners until we admit that we are, and then give our heart to Jesus and accept Him as our Savior. Then we are saved sinners. Jesus defends us against the accusations of the devil, and because of Jesus, we get to live with him forever in heaven. That's where Charlie is now. His wife, Erica Kirk, and their children remain here on earth. My heart and prayers go out to her. I pray for her and their children that God will comfort them and surround them with his beautiful presence. Many people have often asked me how much longer I will continue homeschooling my boys. My answer has always been the same, all the way through. I am very proud of my sons. They are everything that Charlie Kirk described in his words. My sons are polite. They're smart, wise, happy, purposeful, less corrupted, more biblical, more grounded, and more No matter how hard it's ever been to continue on in our homeschooling journey, I have never and will never give up. I can't imagine losing either of my sons at all. My heart and prayers go out to Charlie Kirk's parents as well. This has been heartbreaking, devastating, and unreal. I was feeling so depressed until my aunt sent me a video of a young teen by the name of Tate Emmons who reminded me of something beautiful. He said that Jesus is still God. He is still the only name that saves. Just because the devil has shot an arrow at us to attack us, that does not mean that we have lost the fight. God is still God. He is still Jesus. He still saves. And today, you might be doubting your faith, or you might be sad. He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever. Jesus is still God. He still saves. And He's still here. And He's still fighting for a Christian movement in America. I want to say thank you to Tate Emmons. Your video encouraged and uplifted me. May God bless you and give you that green light you're asking Him for. God bless all of you for listening to me talk from week to week. I want to send you a big hug, and I pray that if you are feeling depressed like I was, that the proclamation of this young teen encourages you the way that it did for me. Talk to you all next week.
