“Heaven Has My Back” PT. 12 Passion & Purpose
Ever feel a quiet fire inside that won’t let you go, even as your days are consumed by someone else’s schedule? We dive into the gap between identity and calling and offer a clear path to uncover, nurture, and master what God placed within you. Rather than treating purpose like a riddle, we define it through passion, strengths, and the problems you feel compelled to solve, then show how to convert that spark into steady, meaningful action.
With Dr. Lydia Michelle Young and Intercessor J’eanine Nichole, we celebrate a milestone—streaming in nine countries—while getting practical about what it takes to honor your gifting. We explore the difference between learned work and natural calling, why something that comes easy still demands mastery, and how spiritual alignment shapes timing and direction. You’ll hear a straightforward challenge to stop making excuses, create a small but sacred creative space, and set consistent time to build the work only you can do.
Grounded in Scripture and real-life wisdom, this conversation is a wake-up call for aspiring entrepreneurs, creatives, and professionals who feel the nudge to do more with what’s in their hands. You’ll learn how to steward your attention, invest in skill growth, and move from private passion to public impact that blesses others. If you’ve been waiting for perfect conditions, consider this your permission to start small, start now, and trust that ordered steps will meet faithful action.

Isn't it amazing? Interesting how most people believe they know who they are. They believe they know who they are. Um, and then if we were to ask most people, many people, who they are or what they're called to do, what the purpose is in life. Uh, I'm a witness to this. Many people say, I don't know. I'm not sure. Um, I don't know yet. We're gonna take a few moments uh in this particular episode um to help someone uncover and rediscover who you are. We're here today to help you to uncover and rediscover who you are, and for you to also understand that purpose is a journey. It's a journey, it's something that God called you to specifically. I am your host, Dr. Lydia Michelle Young, here with my co-host, Intercessor Janine Nicole. Today is Wednesday, middle of the week, refreshing fire. We appreciate you for tuning in to Sweet Fire the Podcast. Um, so come on, Intercessor, take it away. Good evening, everyone. Thank you. Yes, yes, looking forward to talking about uh purpose. I also bear witness um to that being at conversations, you know, with different ones at different points in my life. And whenever I've used the word purpose or I'm seeking, I'm going, you know, after my purpose, I'm looking to fulfill my purpose. You know, you have some who they're like, oh, okay, yeah, purpose, purpose. But then you have others that's like, what do you mean behind that? You know, what what what is that? What does that mean? So definitely looking forward to uh to this uh to this episode, and even um, if you will, before we even jump into it, just put the announcement out there that Sweet Fire the Podcast is officially in nine different countries. That is definitely something to celebrate and to just put out there in the atmosphere. We are officially in nine different countries. Of course, all glory goes to God. So we want to thank each and every one of you around the globe who stayed faithful in tuning in to Sweet Fire the Podcast. The reviews are even excellent. I just recently checked them out this week. So again, just want to um just take this moment to celebrate, give again, give glory to God, and to thank each and every one of you who are out there supporting Sweetfire the podcast. Yes, we absolutely do appreciate you. Uh we are here uh to be a blessing to to give you, to provide to you, uh, those of you who listen, to provide an answer, to provide a remedy, to provide uh the resources, to provide a word that's going to carry you, a word that will shape you and help you to form and direct you so that you can see clearly, hear clearly, and that you can move and navigate in this life. Um, that you can fulfill destiny, that you can reach the places and the points that are set before you that God intends for you, uh, that point for that God intends for you to make. And so we're just we we are greatly appreciative uh to each of you. And um, yeah, so about your purpose, right? About your purpose, your purpose, uh, just to get some clarity on what purpose is. Purpose for for you individually is your passion. What are you passionate about? What where are your strengths? What do you do naturally if you do it very well? Uh, what energizes you? Um, what what uh makes you feel most alive? Um, what drives you, motivates you, inspires you? We're talking about your purpose, and when we have a burning inside, understand that that burning comes from the one who created you. He's the one that puts the fire in us. Oh my goodness, the fire in us, the fire on us to do uh what it is that he has called us to. Come on, intercessor, jump in on that. I'm glad you brought that out too. The burning, that burning sensation on the inside. It just drives you. You know, it uh it is is it comes natural to you. It's not something that you have to work at. You're naturally, you know, good in that area. You know, others may have to read uh an instruction manual, a guideline, but for you, it just comes natural. For you who, you know, you're in that kitchen, you're cooking, right? You don't have to look at, you know, uh uh how many tape uh tablespoons or teaspoons of salt. You don't have to look at those things, it just comes naturally to you. You see that dish, you see that, okay, this is the dish I gotta prepare, and you just naturally know how much you know salt to add, how much pepper to add. It comes natural to you. So your purpose, again, your purpose is something, you know, it is just a passion that just burns within. It keeps you awake. You know, your mind stays on it. And again, it's a natural act, it's not something you have to work at. We go to work, right? We go to work, key word work, and we have to, you know, learn the rules, the regulations, and we have to learn and study, you know, that job there so we can master that specific role that we've been hired for, right? You know, this is different from that. Your purpose is that creative work, that creativity, you know, that God breathed into you when he gave you life, and when he breathed that purpose into you, he breathed that skill set. That's why it becomes so natural for you. That's it. Absolutely. Yeah, and you brought out a dynamic point where when you are hired uh for a job or a different position, whatever that position may be, you you're hired for that position. You're hired uh to work someone else's vision. Right. Uh you're hired to work someone else's vision where they really conduct your life. They tell you when to wake up, they uh tell you when to clock in, they tell you when to take a break, how long to take lunch, when to clock out. Uh they call you in on your days off. Uh when you really might want to take some time and maybe work on your book or draw that picture, that that portrait, or you know, work on your music, those things that that burn inside of you. And and not to say that work is good. We are to work, we are to work, but don't forget about the vision, the purpose that God placed in you. Oh my god, don't forget about the purpose that God placed in you. And and here he goes again. Here he goes again. My mantra, never give more time to someone else's vision than you're willing to give to the vision God has given you. So when we look at purpose, um, it is to be pursued. Your your passions, the thing that burns inside of you is to be pursued, is to be lived out, is to be exercised, it's to be uh to benefit others, to solve problems. The world needs the gifts you bring. Can I say that one more time? The world needs the gifts you bring. Come on, man. That's good. Yeah, and uh, I like it. It was a word that you used uh opening up the uh the broadcast this evening. Journey. Journey, you know, our purpose, it it is a journey, though it comes natural to us, right? It's a natural skill set, it's not something that we have to work at. However, we have to master it. We have to get the mind of God for it, you know, because getting the mind of God for it, you know, we stay aligned with his divine timing, right? And and he will help us master that thing because it it's something that we have to master because the purpose, the your purpose, you know, um is in you. God has placed it in you because there's fulfillment, right? There's something that he wants to use your purpose to fulfill. You know, there's there's there's certain people that he wants, he wants your purpose to bless those people, he wants your purpose to bring light, life to those lives, right? So it is all it's going to be a journey. And with it, with that being said, you know, that it's going to be a journey. We have to work at it. We have to work, we have to spend and invest time with our purpose. We have to nurture our purpose, we have to nourish our purpose so that our purpose grows up, right? And our purpose is fulfilled, our purpose uh sprouts forth, our purpose produces that harvest. We have to work at our purpose. It is, in fact, a journey, right? And so that it gives birth to what we've been called to, right? So that it gives birth, he said produces, yes, absolutely. It produces, oh my god, those things that God placed in you, my Lord, uh, that He wants displayed in the world to be a blessing to other people. So you were created for a purpose, there's intention. Um, you were uh definitely created, made, formed, shaped with intention. God was intentionally, uh, he when he designed you, he had intention in mind. He's an intentional God. He says, even in Jeremiah 29:11, he said, I know the thoughts that I have toward you, I know the thoughts, I know the plans that I have for your life, I know the purpose in which I've created you for plans of good, not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. When we look at Proverbs 16 and 9, he says, The heart of the man plans, the heart of a man plans his way, the heart of a man, the heart of a man. So it's important for us to do what? Have the heart of God because it says the heart of a man's plan his way, the heart of a man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. So, as you said, it's a journey, as we're saying today, it's a journey, it's taking those steps, being led. The steps of a good person are ordered, are directed by who? The Lord, the one who created the create creator of heaven and earth. So, first God calls us to him, he calls us to him first, and then he calls us to purpose. Come on, right, amen. Then he calls us to purpose, amen. And unfortunately, there are just so many people who spend, you know, their day, you know, waking up, going to work, clocking in, right? It's their daily agenda, it's their daily activity. You know, that job is a priority for them because that job brings forth that income needed to sustain and keep life. So again, we're not saying that, you know, um, quit your job. No, no, no. Get the mind of God, right? If he's calling you out of the marketplace, then you know, you'll be uh brought out of that marketplace. What we're saying is just as you know, you spend time uh uh going to work, you spend time doing what you have been hired to do, which you should do, even more time. Some time needs to be set aside to work on your purpose, you know, so you can master that thing because there's many entrepreneurs. There are many entrepreneurs, many entrepreneurs are going, you know, and spending time with another man's vision, faithfully fulfilling that other man's vision. Meanwhile, you have been called to entrepreneurship. That purpose, God wants to use that purpose to bring you out of the marketplace. God wants to use your purpose for you to build business, God wants to use your purpose for you to hire you some employees. God wants to use your purpose so that you can get you some employees to work what your vision. There's many entrepreneurs who are spending a lot of time on somebody else's vision, but meanwhile, that fire that burns within you, that skill set that comes so very natural for you, is your purpose that God wants you to spend more time with, even if that means you know you're just getting a couple of hours rest here or there. So what rest will come? What's more important to you? Your rest or fulfilling your purpose? Good question. What's more important? What do you value? What do you value? What are your values? What's important to you? What's necessary? Um, and so you know, I really appreciate uh this episode. Um and again, your purpose and your gifting, your gifting, your grace gifts, uh, what you're actually an expert at. Um like she said, like intercessor said, it's not something that you necessarily have to study. But if we spend time with what he put in us, if we caress it and nurture it as you have as you've stated, intercessor, then God perfects it, right? He will establish your steps. Oh my God, he's giving you. Oh, so this thing has been on my mind lately about hands and what our hands uh have the ability to do, what God really made our hands for, and I can't really tap into it too much, but saving that for Sunday morning flame, but take a moment and look at your hands. They're much more than what man is saying, you know, that you're you're called to do. Don't let a man, a person, a human dictate your life. You have purpose, and my lord, I just say fulfill it. I say fulfill it. You have all that potential in you. Deposit it. Deposit it. I've said this before. One of the worst things that we can do is not fulfill the purpose and the potential that's within us, even as a seed, before you became a fetus, a baby. Uh, you're you're you're full of purpose, you're your your power and influence and skill and gifting. Use what God has given you. Give him glory in what he's given you. My God, how do we do that? We exercise it, we pursue it, we do it, and you know, and just doing it, that's being in obedience. So, of course, he's gonna bless the work of your hands, right? And that's all I have for today. That's all I have. You have something as we close. Uh, yeah, I do as we close. Um uh definitely uh uh Lord, bring it back to me. He was as you were speaking, yeah, gave it to me. It just so many people are sitting on, you know, your thank you, Holy Ghost. So many people are sitting on your purpose, right? And stop making the excuses. I heard that so clearly. Stop making the excuses. I'm gonna say it one last time because again, I heard it very clearly. Stop making excuses. Making excuses. The finances may not be there right now, and you may not have a lot of time according to your mind in the day to work on your purpose. Create some time, make some time, set some time aside, take some time, take some time, turn off the TV, you know, create you a creative space, even if it's in your in your closet, you got a house full of kids, you know, you got a husband, whatever the case may be, create you some space. Go in your closet, put a little chair down, get a little desk table, pull out, you know, a journal, a notebook, get pen in hand, start writing your vision, create you some time, create you that creative space. Stop making the excuses. You know, you may have you know some pain in your body daily, whatever the case may be, but you're yet you're able to put a remote in the hand and turn on the TV. You're able to get out of bed and walk to the kitchen and fix you something to eat, right? We have to get to the point in life, people of God, that we become so passionate about what God has called us to be, about our purpose, that our number one priority is to fulfill and please Him. Because, like Doctor said, the worst thing we can do is be a people found standing before the Lord, full of that potential that He entrusted us to fulfill here. That's it. Thank you, thank you for that. Uh so you were created for a purpose, pursue your purpose, God has your back. Heaven has your back. Peace be to you, peace be to your house, and peace be to all you have.
