What if your budget could preach louder than your words? We dive into spiritual spending—the practice of aligning money with calling—and unpack how to turn every dollar into an instrument of purpose. From cars used for ministry to homes arranged for creativity, we show how ordinary resources can carry extraordinary impact when they’re governed with intention.

We talk about stewardship beyond tithes: prayerful planning, bill tracking without shame, and daily choices guided by “Lord, who do I bless today?” You’ll hear a challenge to fund your own assignment—writing the book, launching the business, building the ministry—rather than overinvesting in everyone else’s vision. We break down how to write the vision, cost your next steps, and budget for skills and tools that activate your gifts. When purchases flow from purpose, gifts make room and momentum compounds.

If money feels tight, don’t wait to plan. We address the mindset of lack, how to see beyond current limits, and why faithfulness often attracts surprise provision and joyful permission to enjoy the fruits of wise planning. Expect practical takeaways: create a purpose budget, schedule thinking time, balance service with skill-building, and ask better questions before you spend. The value inside you is priceless, but it must be expressed—your finances can help it manifest.

Subscribe for more conversations that blend faith, wisdom, and practical steps. If this resonated, share it with someone building their vision, and leave a review to tell us what you’ll fund first.

Many people drift uh without direction, drift without direction uh because of fear of failure. They're unsure of who they are, what they're made of, their ability, their capacity at we as we have been uh sharing and using some of those terms in these past few weeks regarding our uh our skill set, our capacity, our ability uh to achieve what's been placed in us, and we're going to share uh just for a few moments on this evening um the idea of spiritual spending, what that looks like. What is spiritual spending when we talk spiritual spending, finances, wealth, uh what is the idea? The idea is to use or to apply or to allocate the wealth that God has given us, that He's given us the Ko-A to achieve, or the Koa to produce, or the Koa, the power to get. We use those finances, we use the blessing of God placed upon our lives uh for the benefit of others. So we share our wealth, we share what God has placed in us. Uh, for instance, my vehicle. I use my vehicle uh for ministry. I use my vehicle uh with the idea that this vehicle uh is a gift to me from God, but I use it to take care of his business. You know, my home is set up in a way uh to where I use the space in my home, every area, every room, there's a creative space so that I can produce, so that I can use the Koa within me uh to obtain what God has uh called me to, what God has ordained, the blessing of God in my life, what He's ordained me to have, He's ordained me to walk in. I use the space even in my home uh to create, to produce, to use the capacity and the ability um uh to be a benefit uh or a blessing to others. That's a kingdom mindset. And so that's what the idea we want to share with you today on spiritual spending. So, again, the question we start out with uh are you drifting without direction for fear or for a lack of confidence of who you are and what you were designed and created to be? I am your host, Dr. Lydia Michelle Young, here with my co-host, intercessor Janine Nicole is here in the studio, and we are really thankful for another opportunity to share with you. This is Wednesday, Wednesday, the middle of the week. Uh, we call this midweek refreshing fire. Uh, refreshing fire that's gonna carry you through to the rest of the week. And um, we thank each one of you for tuning in to Sweet Fire the Podcast. Intercessor again is here, and she's going to come and greet you with a hearty good morning, good evening, good day to you.

SPEAKER_01:

Good evening, everyone, and thank you for uh once again tuning into Sweet Fire the podcast. Um, definitely looking forward to you know uh this evening's topic of discussion spiritual spending, um, which is a much needed discussion, a much needed discussion because you know, a lot of times we're um we're always hearing about you know uh uh people's finances in the aspect of you know bringing their tithe into the storehouse, you know, giving their tithes, so in their tithes, which we all, we also, you know, we are all called to tithe. That is a commandment by God Himself. But we really don't hear teaching on spiritual spending, how you know we are supposed to be faithful stewards, faithful governors over the finances that God entrusts us with. You know, so I'm definitely looking forward to jumping into this uh topic of discussion, and like I'm sure everybody else tuning in on this evening. So once again, good evening to each and every one of you.

SPEAKER_00:

Good evening. So the idea, simply put, uh if we were to bring it to layman terms, is to use your money, to use what God has given you, what God has blessed you with, what He's given you the ability uh to produce, to produce and to obtain, to use your money, your cheese, your cheddar, your chips, if you will, uh to bless somebody else. How do you feel about uh sewing what's in your hand and giving it over to someone else's benefit? That's that's a question I just want to toss up in the air. How do you feel about that?

SPEAKER_01:

Right, yeah. And in all actuality, you know, yeah, we're supposed, like you said, we're supposed to be a blessing to others, right? We're we again going back, we are supposed to give our tithes, we're supposed to, you know, uh give our offerings, sow our seeds on good ground, on good ground, the ground that God has called you, you know, to uh to lock arms, you know, with the people in that place in that in that uh that church, you know, lock arms with your brothers and sisters in Christ within that building. You know, that's where we're supposed to be uh giving our tithes. We're supposed to be sowing our seed in, you know, good ground. In addition to that, you know, we ought to be faithful stewards with our finances and placing them in the areas of our own uh uh lives, in our own gifts, right? In our own talents, in our own businesses, you know, the vision that God has given us. We are supposed to be using our money to fund those areas of our lives as well. You know, like you've said, never give more to another man's vision than you're willing to get to the vision that God has given unto you. And that is so true. And, you know, even uh uh when it comes to just, you know, the littlest things, like for me. You know, some will laugh, but this is so true. This is what I do because I acknowledge that the money that God bless me with is what I just said, what preceded that. God blessed me with the finances. So when I, for example, I go to the grocery store and I ask the Lord, okay, Lord, what is okay for me to buy today? You know, when it comes to, you know, paying my bills. I'm, you know, a faithful steward and doing the itemization. I have my daily planner, right? And and I put down, you know, what's due on this particular day, what's due on that particular day. That's called being a faithful steward. God smiles upon that, you know. So it it what does the Bible say? In all thy getting, get an understanding. You know, and that's what we ought to be doing. When God, you know, allows us a monthly income, we ought to be seeking the mind of God, right? Asking the Holy Spirit for the direction on how to faithfully govern that income.

SPEAKER_00:

Right. That's trusting him with all of your heart, right? With all of who you are, that's your entire being. It's not the organ in your chest that pumps blood. Right. It says, Trust the Lord with all thy heart. It's talking about who you are, trust him with everything, uh, your entire you, trust him with your life, trust him with your mind, trust him with your finances, trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not to thine own understanding. He said, with all thy getting, get an understanding. Don't lean to your own understanding, but in all your ways. Acknowledge here, like you said, when you go in the grocery store, Lord, what do I buy today? Right. You know, uh Lord, who do I bless today? Amen. And so I get that, I like that, I appreciate that. And so um, as we move forward, um, what are you meant to do? What are you meant to do? You're here, you exist, you're created, you're uniquely made, uniquely designed. You uh you have, you stand in your, you know, you have your own right, your own uh being. You're unique in your own way, you're uniquely made, created. There is no one like you, and no one can do what you can do like you. So, what are you meant to do? Understanding your potential, your potential is that area in you, those things in you that are unexpressed. That's that unexpressed power, that unseen power that that uh is time to produce, it's time for it to manifest. I shared even on Sunday morning flame how uh your blessing will speak for itself. Well, your gifts they speak for themselves, and your gift, according to the scripture, will make room for you. Come on, intercessor. Amen.

SPEAKER_01:

Your gifts, you know, they will make room for you. What again? I want to ask that question. What is it that you're called to do? Right, what is it that you are called to do, and how are you spending, you know, your time in, you know, uh uh um preparing, you know, have you written the vision? Have you written the vision? You know, uh uh are you putting money towards what God has called you to do? Are you faithfully funding what God has called you to do? Because what God has called you to do, you hear me, you know, uh uh phrase it in this way quite often because it's the truth, it's something that the Lord gave me years ago. What God has called you to do is that thing that He's entrusted you to do. God has put your trust in that area, God has trusted you to write his book to get his word to the world. God has trusted you to launch that business, God has trusted you to start that ministry. What is it that God has put in you to do? What is it that God has trusted you to do? Now, have you written the vision? Have you, you know, are you putting money towards that vision to get it out there? Because God has put his trust in you. Are you trusting God for you?

SPEAKER_00:

Are you trusting God for you? And you know, it really requires concrete thinking. Take some time this evening, take some time out of your day to really uh consider, get in a quiet space, and and get take some time to really consider, do a self-evaluation, introspect, look within, and and and and so you can begin to decipher what it is inside of you uh that that that is so unique and different and and creative and and special, where your anointing is, uh, those specific areas, concrete thinking, take some time to think so that you are intentional, but intentional about the moves you make. You are intentional about the decisions you make, you are intentional about your spending, so that it is spiritual spending, so that your spending is really the mind of God for your life, so that you grow exponentially. That word came out on Sunday morning floor. Exponentially, there's a power behind your spending, there's a force behind your spending, and it's not limited, but God will stretch and expand your spending when it's done with the mind of God. So it's learning how to cultivate what's in us, it's learning how to have the balance between work and leisure, uh, learning how to be present in your situation, present in your gifting, present in your talent, present in your calling, present in your purpose so that you can fulfill what's on your life, so that you can be the example that you were designed to be for your own children, for your family, for your loved ones. Come on, intercessor, as we uh get ready to wrap it up.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, yeah. And, you know, um, I like what you just said because it's been, you know, times when when we're showing ourselves faithful, when we're being faithful stewards, you know, going back to um how I acknowledge God, you know, in my finances, you know, I do, you know, my daily planning, my monthly planning, right? And and I go by that. When we show ourselves faithful, there's been times in my life that God, you know, He rewards me, He'll surprise me. You know, He allows me, you know, I have a little extra money left over, you know, He'll He'll you know surprise me like it's okay and give me the okay, it's okay to go in and spoil myself, go buy me something special for myself, right? Because I'm not just being you know frivolous, just frivolous spinning, put my money over here, put my money over there, you know. I'm I'm being a good steward with it. Right. And God, he's our father. Our father, you know, a father wants best for his children. A father wants, you know, you know, uh to love on his children, a father will surprise his children, a father provides for his children, you know, and when our father sees that he can trust us in an area of our lives, he will step in and surprise us, you know, and that's been my testimony over the years. And I also want to encourage somebody here on this evening as Dr. was speaking, you know, I feel as if that there's some right now, you know, you really don't, you you see that you don't have the finances right now. And as a result, you're not even encouraged to sit down and write the vision because you're so, you know, you're so invested in what you see right now. You're not allowing yourself to see through the lenses of Jesus Christ, you're not allowing yourself to see, you know, uh beyond your current reality. Your current reality is temporary. Your current reality is temporary, and your current reality is an illusion that the enemy is trying to use against you to stop you from believing God's promise for your life. Sit down and show it and show yourself faithful and spending time on what God has you know entrusted you with and write that vision. Don't worry about what the finances look like right now. If God is calling you to something, guess what? God has to provide. God puts the responsibility on himself when he gives us you know an assignment to do, to fulfill, and we are faithful in fulfilling that assignment and doing what he has called us to do, doing what he has entrusted us to do. We are putting the responsibility back on God. It's like saying, Okay, God, I've heard your voice, I'm stepping out. Now I'm expecting you to do. And he says, Guess what, daughter? Guess what, son? I got you.

SPEAKER_00:

Right. That's it. I like that. That is it, and um, thank you so much for expressing uh those words and sharing those nuggets of wisdom, uh, intercessor. And so what we have in us, and we're closing, what we have in us is priceless, it's it's valuable, but what good is the value in us, intercessor, if we never allow it to come out of us? How valuable is it really? You have an idea. Uh uh, you have an idea, you have a something that you want to do with your life. Um, so what is it in you? Allow the value in you uh to come out, to manifest, produce what's in you uh so that your life can be further blessed. Peace be to you, peace be to your house, and peace be to all you
