Ever felt the rush of charm pull you in while a quiet voice warned you to run? We unpack that split-second tension between attraction and danger and follow it to its real-world cost: lost focus, shrinking dreams, and homes filled with smoke that the whole family breathes. With raw honesty and a clear, compassionate tone, we break down why “the forbidden” feels magnetic, how reckless patterns disguise themselves as passion, and what it takes to step out with dignity when the room gets hot.

We lean into a vivid metaphor—the burning building—to map what toxic relationships and harmful habits do to your mind, body, and future. From the myth of “good girls and bad boys” to the slow creep of intoxication, we name the behaviors that dim your self-worth and keep you stuck. Then we move from insight to action: spotting red flags without second-guessing, creating a practical exit plan, and protecting kids from inheriting chaos. You’ll hear how boundaries, steady routines, and community support rebuild identity after years of smoke, and why peace is not the absence of excitement but the presence of power.

From Bad Boys To Recklessness

SPEAKER_00

As we jump into this segment talking about being captivated by charm and being fascinated with danger. Come on, intercessor, jump in. Good evening, everyone, and yes, thank you for tuning in to another prophetic episode of Sweet Fire the Podcast. Laugh. Go ahead, laugh, laugh. Go ahead, laugh. Definitely looking uh forward to this topic of discussion because I believe many of us um you know, at uh uh a time or two in our lives, we were captivated by that charm. We were captive, you know, captivated by it, just fascinated, you know, with the likes of another. You know, with the likes of another. I know, you know, in my time of growing up, uh what was they used to say, uh how the good girls love the bad boys, you know, the the little rough necks around the uh the edges, right? Um, so definitely looking forward to this uh episode here. All right. Well, let's let's get to it. Um you said the good girls love the bad boys. That's in my day. That's reckless, isn't it? That is very reckless. It's living a reckless life, if I must say so. Where did that term daredevil come from? Right, right? We we understand devil, but it any time that we're subject to

The Lure Of The Forbidden

SPEAKER_00

uh the force behind, uh you know, it can it can be very risky, it can be very troubling um um when we uh take risk, dangerous risk, when we risk our lives, when we risk our well-being, when we risk uh our minds, uh our heart, our life, when we risk uh our future, our purpose, our destiny uh over some reckless mess. Right. Uh over over charm. And being fascinated with bad boys. With the bad boys, yeah. Because I mean, I like how you said that we you know, we risk our uh our life, right? Because those those fascinations to that charm, you know, to that reckless behavior, to the bad boys, you know, they get us off course. You know, they have us going down another path that we, you know, we were never intended to go down, right? They totally distract us. You know, a lot of times you hear of the air quote, you know, good girls hooking up with the bad boys, and then what happens with the good girls? You know, their grades start falling off. You know, they're sleeping in late and they're uh arriving to work late, they're taking too many days off from work. Why? Why? Because they are completely distracted, they're on a pathway, you know, traveling down a lane that they have no business being on, right? All because they are fascinated. Fascinated, you know, they're taking that risk with their life. And is it is it even worth it? Is it even worth it? No, it's not. Right. And that that too, another way to look at this is being attracted to the forbidden, being attracted to the forbidden, those things that uh are forbidden, um, that you absolutely should not get into, that are not created for you, that are not designed for you, that are not tailored for your life. I mean, playing with fire, right? Playing with fire, sweet fire, the podcast, how to survive the flame, what attracts you burns. What attracts you burns. Let's say that one more time. How to survive the flame when what attracts you burns.

Burning Building Metaphor

SPEAKER_00

Any of you out there attracted to something, uh, attracted to someone? Is it luring you? It are you mesmerized by it? But you're finding that uh that you now that you've engaged your life, you've engaged your time, you've engaged your energy, you've engaged your money, your finances, your creativity, uh, you've engaged your body, you you've engaged your your words, just your life uh into uh a situation, into uh a relationship with an individual, which our metaphor is burning building. Uh when we're when we're trapped inside of a burning building, how do we escape that? Um have you have any of you ever found yourself uh caught in a flame, caught in a fire, uh, and and you found that it was hard to escape. Uh you didn't really know how to make your exit plan, their plan of exiting that situation. Uh come on, jump in. Yeah, yeah.

Generational Smoke And Harm

SPEAKER_00

It's like you're you're trapped in. You know, you're you're so consumed by the smoke. So consumed, you know, with inhaling all of the that toxicity that comes, you know, through the smokiness of a burning building. You know, and now you you're trapped inside and you're reflecting back on the many, you know, different times that you know that door was swung open for you, that window was was cracked open, you know, free for, you know, for you were free to escape, you were free to leave. But for whatever reason, you didn't. And now it's you know so many years later, and now you you have kids, you brought kids into the situation. You know, because let's just face it, a lot of people in these burning buildings who are trapped in, a lot of them are have stayed in those burning buildings because they have produced in those burning buildings. A whole nother generation is coming up within that burning building. And now the whole other generation is being forced to inhale that same toxic uh smoke, the same toxic fumes that you were inhaling. That's that's the stuff right there. I like the way you uh explained that, broke

Intoxication And Loss Of Control

SPEAKER_00

that down. I mean, it's a clear picture that when we engage in that unpredictable, dangerous uh relationship, whether it's with a person or whether uh it's an addiction to uh a substance or uh it might be food, it might be there's so many different elements that uh we find ourselves attracted to, drawn to. Um it it and and you know, it sparks a thrill, you know, that the the um the uh fascination with danger, living recklessly. You know, we do that even as a lot of young people and we grow up that way. So what when when we're young, whatever, you know, that that thing, that force behind that we're dealing with, a lot for a lot of people, that force outgrows the individual. Right. And now we find that individual underdeveloped, unlearned, undisciplined, you know, living a life out of control. We talked about intoxication, in toxic relationships, being intoxicated by that person or being intoxicated by their influence, by their smell,

Say Yes To Your Own Worth

SPEAKER_00

by the taste, by the voice, by the feel, the being intoxicated where you lose control. And now intoxication really is a poison. Yeah, it's it's a it's poison. And today we want to help you, those of you who are in that situation. You're in that situation, you made a commitment. You've devoted yourself, you've devoted your heart, your soul to the situation, to that person, to that drug, to that. You when we make a commitment, we say yes, right? Right. What about you? Make a commitment to you, say yes to you. Say yes to you, say yes to your children, say yes to your loved ones, say yes to you, care for your heart, care for your well-being. Come on, chum. Yeah, say yes to you, say yes to your words, say yes to your value, yes, you know, and and it you said so much there. So many have you know grown up in years, right? They're getting older with the numbers, you know, getting older with the numbers, but yet underdeveloped because of all the abuse that they endured inside that burning building. You know, all that abuse took, you know, that that they endured inside the burning building. So now they they don't see their work, they don't see their value. Undervalu. Yeah, right, because of everything that you went through or are currently going through inside that burning building. Now your identity has be, you know, your identity, you find your identity in that one that you're with. You have completely lost your way because you have been inside that burning building for so many years. And we are here on this evening to encourage you that you are worth it. You're gonna keep hearing us say this because

Exit Signs And Taking Peace

SPEAKER_00

it's the truth. You are worth it, you're worth fighting for you. You are worth taking you back, your children are worth it because you chose, because you made the conscious decision to stay inside that burning building for all the years you have been inside that burning building. Turn that thing around, break that generational curse and get your babies up out of there. See your babies as being worth it because they are take the dust off your feet, yeah, so that you can live. Leave so you can live. Now, this is for uh people specifically. If it's not for you, we're not telling you to uh trying to entice you or encourage you or compel you to walk away from a good thing. Right. We're saying if you're in a situation that is not healthy for you, that is not healthy where you're unhappy, you're depressed, you're you're uh going through, you have low self-esteem, you're being abused, you're being talked down at, you're being called out of your name, your children are being abused. We're talking to you. Yes, make the escape, right? You're worth plan your exit. When you see the temperature change, right, because fire has different levels of different temperatures. When the temperature, what when you see the red light, the red sign, uh, the when the temperature begins to change, when you see the sign, take the exit. Peace be to you, peace be to your house, and peace be to all.
