This is not medical advice and does not reflect the host's roles or responsibilities at Vital Medical or Hue Aesthetics. Now let's get into it. Welcome to another episode of Beyond the White Coat Podcast. I'm your host, Megan Delcarral, here with Charia Man. Chacha. Hello. We had some camera issues at the beginning. So we use an Installink 360 and it's supposed to have auto tracking and it does, but it doesn't. So I was like physically behind the camera, and I walked around the island and it followed me there and then started just filming the ceiling. So that was super annoying. Then I caught my breasts and wouldn't come off my wrist. Yeah, then it was like, oh, look at those big guys.
SPEAKER_00Megan, how tall are you? I feel like you're taller than me.
SPEAKER_03It's probably the chair. I'm like 5'2 and a half. I always say I'm 5'3. I'm really not 5'2. I know I lie all the time. I had a Juxa scan last year and I was like, oh, I asked you. I'm like, how tall am I? She's like, 5'2. And I'm like, really? I like 5'2 in like a quarter. She's like, no, you're 5'2. I was like, okay. But but I could be 5'3. She was like, no, you're not. Cheers. Cheers, cheers. We just got off of really fun meeting with our girls. All right, let's do a little catch up. I want to tell you about my weekend.
SPEAKER_00Wait, before you say, I wanted to let you know I was looking at your fashion choices. Oh, this weekend? Yeah.
SPEAKER_03So we had to talk about. I did. Okay. Because I went, I got some new things. And so I'm at this weird phase of my life where I feel too old for everything. Like every decision I make with clothing, I'm always like, oh, that's so cute. I like it. And then I get it. And I'm like, oh, I like it. But I'm like, quite too old to wear this. So how do you know?
SPEAKER_00I mean, I'm older than you, but I would say that sometimes I'm I love the word fashion forward, right? I use that as an excuse every time I want to wear something that somebody would probably Little Risky. Not only that, but not find appropriate, you know?
SPEAKER_03So I'm like I've never seen you not appropriate. I've never been like, mm-hmm she shouldn't wear that.
SPEAKER_00Well, I think because I'm top heavy. And so if I wear something and somebody else who's not top heavy wears something, it just looks like I'm a little bit more risque, right? Yeah. So that's true. And you are really, really tiny, and like everything that you wear looks fabulous on you. Where like I'm always like, am I spilling out? I'm taking pictures of myself before I have an event and I'm like sending it to my sisters and some of my guy friends. And I, you know, like, what do you think? And and I'm always asking, what do they think? And yeah, always like, just wear the one that covers your top.
SPEAKER_03I always think you look so good that you have good fashion sense.
SPEAKER_00Thank you.
SPEAKER_03So yeah, we so clothing. So we were at the Formula One Grand Prix in Montreal, which this was our first Formula One race. We had a great time. We learned a lot about Formula One racing. So I bought these tickets for David as a Christmas present. I bought them, I think, in October of last year, so a long time ago. And it's a three-day event because there's practice. The Montreal race has what's called a sprint race. So it's like a mini race, and the drivers can score points. Then there's a qualifying race where they figure out where they're gonna start, like who's number one, two, three, four, five, six. And then there's the Grand Prix, which is the main race. So it's uh it's a lot. It was like very busy. We were up every day, like trying to get everything done, and then spent all the time at the at the track, which was fun. Clothing choices. So I am obsessed with the brand Alice and Olivia. I feel like for me, for my body type, for what I like, it's always my go-to. And they don't do a lot of patterns. I don't like patterns, like things very plain. And I'm in my like total matching sets era, so that's mostly what I wore. Um, so I did, and I'm also I used to be a hater of tweed, but I still don't love it as like a material of choice. But where it is a clutch is when you're traveling because tweed doesn't wrinkle. Okay. That's what do you think about tweed?
SPEAKER_00When I think of tweed, I think of that black and white pattern. Do you know what I mean? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Like the checkered pattern. Yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So that's what I think. And I think uh I think pearls with tweed.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, pearls with tweed is always a nice, let's look at a classy, yeah, classy look.
SPEAKER_00But I also think suits. So what type of tweed are you thinking about when you're talking about like traveling in tweed?
SPEAKER_03So like I wore it was uh a matching set, but it was a yellow skirt that was tweed, and so it was like kind of yellow and white, because tweed always has like a back color, so yellow and white, and it had these cool like gold rose like buttons on it in the front, and then it was a yellow tweed top that buttoned on the front again with those gold roses, so it was a matching set. Again, I I think the thing that made me feel like it looked a little young was the top was like a like a thinner strap. I think if it was like a a shirt, maybe I would have felt a little bit more comfortable. But I wore a jacket with it, so I think that looked okay. And then the second day I wore again a pink tweed, like uh it was a jacket, but it was like what's it called when it's like a crop jacket, I guess. Crop jacket, yeah. And I wore that with a white bodysuit and white shorts with my pink sneakers. So I think that again it was nice because I also brought like some silk chops and they wrinkled so bad in the travel.
SPEAKER_00So I was following you on Instagram and I saw you in some platform heels. So where were you headed when you had these platform heels on?
SPEAKER_03Um, we were headed out, of course. Oh, yeah, yeah. The I know it shoes. I was wow. So those shoes, I love those shoes. And I never have anywhere to wear them, especially in Cincinnati, Ohio. So we bought those in Milan. I'll tell you the whole story about these shoes. So they're they're these Versace, like seven-inch platform, like Mary Jane's, essentially what they look like, and they have the rhinestone around the ankle. So one of the Peloton instructors, her name's Olivia Mato. She's super cute and she's super tiny, and she's David's favorite instructor because he thinks she's hot. It's just call it like it is. Because he'll I'll even see him like choosing which like bike workout he's gonna do, and he'll be like, Oh, she's got a cute little outfit on. And I'm like, What? And he'll like make his decision based off that. So I follow her on Instagram, and this is like three or four years ago. Um, she had those shoes and she has them in like five different colors. And I was like, wow, I really like those shoes. And it she's really petite too. So it's like it's just like a funny contrast because the shoes are they're huge and they just look silly almost. So we were in Milan, Italy, and I was like, let's go into Versace in my head. I'm like planting this seed. I'm like, okay, how am I gonna get David to tell me I can buy these shoes? And they're there, they're in black, and I was like, Oh, and I said, David, I really like these shoes. Do you know who has these shoes? And I was like a plot, Megan. I know, it's like Olivia Motto, and I was like, let me show you how cute she looks on Instagram, and she was like in this like little dress with these big shoes, and he was like, Oh my god, that's such a cute look. So he was like, Okay, and that's why he let me buy those shoes, but they're ridiculous, they're really cute. Yeah, that's right. And I did another Allison Olivia matching set, a blue top with blue shorts with them.
SPEAKER_00You look darling, they looked really good the whole weekend. I was like, Go girl, you look like and I saw you with your big uh, was it Versace pink glasses that I'm like they fit right in? But real quickly, there was a NASCAR driver that passed away. Oh, I didn't even know that. So I don't know what I got at this. So I will tell you, I think he's a NASCAR, and you guys can chime in and correct. Some kind of professional but uh he actually is like the goat. I mean, he just won all these um different prices grand prize and stuff, but he died of sepsis. He had pneumonia. Oh my gosh. So I want to tell people out there pneumonia is not to be something that you take lightly. Yes, yes, and and sepsis happens very quickly. So it does. Uh uh, you know, rest in peace. I'm sorry I don't have his name, but I know it was a big deal and shook up the uh the race car community. And I was thinking about that.
SPEAKER_03I thought for sure they would have probably said that at the I didn't hear anything right there, but I mean, maybe I I think they were so hyper focused on on the drivers there. Tell me about your weekend. Tell me about your niece. Uh, real quickly, is uh who is Kim Kardashian's Lewis Hamilton? Yeah, he's just cute. He he is he's not hard on the weekend. Was Kim Kardashian there? She was not. I look for her twice because we got to do this like tour of the paddock, which is where the paddock is where all the drivers like go when they're not racing, like to sleep. So they set up these like mobile, I mean they're massive, these mobile houses essentially that it's cool in the back. You see like the ventilation, and they're labeled like Mercedes, Ferrari, Alpine, like all the different uh Austin Martin, whatever, all the different teams have their own little house and they're because there's only two drivers, so they're in there with their team. And we did see Lewis was on like a little scooter and he was drives for Mercedes, right? Uh he drives for Ferrari. He used to for a long time. He just switched to Ferrari, so yeah, I kept looking and I kept asking him, like, I know everyone asks this question, but is Kim Kardashian in here? And they were like, We haven't seen her yet. And the guy who was giving us a tour, he's like, We've seen her multiple times like throughout the season, and I was like, Oh my god, that would have been so cool. But but no, yeah, he is he is like uh his like a baby face, and yeah, he's he has a really cool fashion sense.
SPEAKER_00Have you ever seen him like big trench coat with like a nice suit?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and his mom was there because he came uh in second, so he did really well, and he like went and gave her a big hug and a kiss, and I was like, Oh my god, that makes me like find you even more attractive because you love your mom.
SPEAKER_00So, how how were the people in general dressed there? Very casual, very So it was interesting.
SPEAKER_03We thought, like, I went thinking that it was people are gonna be very dressed up. Like, I brought dresses and I wore a dress, like a silk short dress on the race day, because I was kind of like, whatever, I'm gonna do it. But the hard thing is, especially we learned we learned a lot about the different venues because there are a lot of different races. They race from like until December. Like they it's a long season. So this one in Montreal, the where the course is, it's like on an island of Montreal. So like you have to get in a boat and get there, and it is not easy to get to, like to get to and from the race was like an hour and a half each way. It was very annoying. It's a ton of walking. So people are in flat. So of course I brought all my like heels, and I was like, oh my god, this is gonna be a nightmare. So I was happy that like I had outfits that worked okay with sneakers that looked, you know, good. And I like packed in my bag heels. So I was like, maybe I'll change them, but I never did. So a lot of people wore like dresses and sneakers. That was like the look. And honestly, some people were super casual. Like David wore a jacket one day just because he was like, I brought it whatever, but he was the only one. Most guys were just like in polos and slacks, but you literally could have wore jeans. People in the grandstands were just like in like workout clothes.
SPEAKER_00Is it hard to score those tickets?
SPEAKER_03You have to definitely either like buy ahead of time. So there's a thing called F1 experiences, Formula One Experiences, where you can buy tickets through them, and that's what I did. And you can talk to them, like, hey, give me some pricing on different races, you know, because obviously, like they're I mean, they raced in China and like Abu Dhabi and the Middle East, those all got canceled because of the war, Miami, Austin, Vegas. So there's different prices based on different places. Uh and and then a lot of people like were there with companies, like, oh, my company sponsors a car, so they got me tickets. So it is a little bit about like who you know.
SPEAKER_00Tell me about your weekend though. It was a very emotional weekend for me. Um, my baby, my niece. That's a good emotional though. Yeah. My best friend. She graduated from high school. She's so beautiful. She is beautiful, she's really special to us because my sister had her when she was older in age, and she did not think that she could have a child. As a matter of fact, I was with my sister when her doctor came out and specifically asked me to have a conversation with my sister to pretty much say that you have zero chance of having a child. So um, I didn't have that conversation with her because we believe in prayers. And this is a real try. Her uh father had a dream, and in the dream God told him that they would have a little girl and to name her Trinity. Oh, that's so sweet. And so he woke up. And my sister had been trying, and she had difficulties, and he woke up and he said, I am for sure that you are going to have a daughter, and we are going to name her Trinity. And here we are. Trinity has graduated, and uh, we got her a car for graduation. We did our family. We bought her a car.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, I want to be in your family. I definitely did not get a car. My parents were like, go to college.
SPEAKER_00Well, she worked really, really hard. She's such a special, I mean, she's very kind. That's all I ever wanted for her to be a kind, considerate person. Spitting image of me, you know, I'm so kind of degenerous. You are.
SPEAKER_03You always bring me money, so you're always generous.
SPEAKER_00I brought you some money. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And lip gloss. I always bring you lip gloss. Yeah. Um, because I know you have your lip gloss. I wore that.
SPEAKER_03I was gonna say, I was telling her I wore three of the ones you gave me this weekend, actually. Um, I love them.
SPEAKER_00Thank you. That was good. So it was a good weekend. Um, my cousin came in from Germany, and then I had other family in town.
SPEAKER_02So fun just to celebrate her. Yeah. So she felt so loved. Now, did you guys have a party?
SPEAKER_00We did not because she wanted no parts of us after the graduation ceremony was over and she got all her gifts. She's like, peace out. I will see you guys later. Okay. So that's that. But no, we had an incredible weekend. Uh by Sunday, I I think I slept the whole day. I was super excited. Did you guys go to dinner or anything? We are actually planning a family vacation to Destin, so we'll be celebrating there. We'll all meet there. Perfect. Um, so yeah, that'll be fun. So, our meeting, the reason why we jumped on a little bit late today was because we had a meeting.
SPEAKER_03We had a meeting with our girls. Yes.
SPEAKER_00And so planning for our big event.
SPEAKER_03Very excited. I know. I feel like we're planning a wedding, to be honest, just with like all the different components that go into events. So tell me, you have been to way more than I have. I feel like there was a good stretch for like three months that every week you're like, Hey, I'm traveling to Dallas, I'm traveling to here, I'm doing this. Yes. So for you, and I and it can be different because every event is different. Like, what makes a great event? What makes you walk away and be like, oh man, that slapped?
SPEAKER_00Yes. So yes, I for the area of medicine that I practice aesthetics, um, we always have opportunities to have these credible networking opportunities. I think for me, it I always ask, is the ticket worth the experience? Meaning like there's events that I've gone to that I'm paying five thousand to the upwards of ten thousand dollars for. Oh my goodness. Yes. And sometimes the tax write-off. That's what I tell myself.
SPEAKER_02That's what I say. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But I always ask myself, like, after, because you know, you have the excitement of going and meeting and going with your team. Um, but always afterwards I'm like, what did I gain from that? Right. And I feel like in every single one that I've ever gone to, I have always grown in some way. One of my favorite ones that I went to was last year. It was called the Master Injector. Okay. And it was very exclusive, meaning it was a very curated experience. We had a cadaver, but I like the fact that the speaker, uh, Dr. Lee Walker was there as well. I felt like they really emphasized interaction. And sometimes when you're in a setting and you have a lot of attendees, you just feel like a number. Um, that's part of the mass of people that's there. Sure. But they really encouraged, like they would stop during their presentation, allow us to ask questions. Um, they always encouraged us to ask each other. They always encouraged like networking, uh, you know, to network amongst each other. And I will tell you, out of every single summit, every event that I've gone to, I have gained working uh relationships with colleagues that I still have till this day. So I love that.
SPEAKER_03Especially because you're there for the same reason. So it's like-minded.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yes. And then honestly, it's like the experience of just being able to celebrate what you love. Everybody there is curious, right? And they want to know like, what do you do? How do you do this? Yeah. Absolutely. So one of my other favorites was Las Vegas, right?
SPEAKER_03So being in Las Vegas, I don't know that I trust you in Vegas.
SPEAKER_00High energy, everything. And I have, I will tell you, I have gotten my money's worth. I've not drank too much. I have gotten every single dollar because I'm like, I'm not. Yeah, you're here. Yeah, yeah. It's like $5,000. I'm getting every dollar's worth there. So high energy, the networking. Uh obviously, you want to attend the conferences and events where like the mentors that you want to learn from are there. Sure, yeah, of course. I think we're gonna, I think we're going to do a really good job because amongst all of the our team that's putting this together, we have over 30 plus of years of experience just attending and being part of different events. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and I always think, I mean, one, I always want to give kudos to anyone doing an event and putting on an event because it is incredibly stressful and it's a reflection of you, and it's not always the best reflection of your hard work because sometimes you can try and you're not gonna hit it out of the park. Like I remember just the event I attended. The person who curated told me, I actually was telling him the first night we had like an award ceremony, and the food was phenomenal. It was like this like Mediterranean, just unbelievable they had shrimp and grilled vegetables and like halloomy and all this stuff and rice. And I was like, wow, the food was really good. Like, I just want to tell you, you know, you want to hear good feedback, right? And he was like, Oh my god, if you only knew, he's like, I had a different catering company scheduled for tonight, verified with them like four times. As I'm driving down to the venue like four hours before the awards ceremony, he's like, I called them to see what time they were gonna set up, and they forgot. And he's like, I literally called a Greek restaurant and said, I have you know, 70 people I need to feed. And they agreed to do it within a four hours' notice. And I was like, I'm so sorry that happened to you, but it was honestly the best food that you know you could have had.
SPEAKER_00Everything happens furry.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, so from like a you know, consumer standpoint, sometimes you also don't know like what's going on in the background.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Um, yeah. So for me, what really makes great events is the energy. And it's always challenging. So for us as medical professionals, most of the events we're going to are are like clinically heavy. So they're like lectures, like you're going to learn. And unfortunately, even with all the fancy stuff, like someone's gonna have to talk with a microphone, with slides, and present, right? So there's a little bit of of that didactic, but I enjoy it when like I feel like I got something out of it and I have something tangible. I I've told you this when I always go back. My friend, I'll just plug her here, who I've known forever, um, Erica Lugo, just an unbelievable woman. She's a cool person, she's lovely, like just the best. She gave a talk on social media and like what makes a great post and what makes a bad post. And as someone who knows nothing about social media, I was like glued in. Like when she was done, I was like, wait, wait, wait, hold on. I have so many questions. Can we start over? I'm like writing down things. I was totally engaged. And I remember before the talk, she and I were talking, and she was like, Oh, I can't believe I'm gonna give this talk. Like, no one's gonna care. And I was like, that was the best talk of the whole weekend. Like, I everyone was really engaged in it. So you also never know what's gonna hit, right? Yeah. So I think that uh yeah, engagement is key. Good food, good drinks, good energy, good energy, not like alcohol, but like good coffee and water and access to clean bathrooms is another one. Because I've been to events that like I didn't think about that, but yes, that would be a thing. It's not staffed. And so if it's especially if it's not at a hotel or it's like kind of an off-site, which isn't bad, but you have to make sure you have someone like restocking toilet paper, cleaning the bathrooms because as a woman, especially, that's like the worst. Yeah, right. Absolutely. You don't want to be going in there and being like, oh my god, there's no toilet paper or there's water all over the floor, whatever it is. So you want someone to to maintain that. And also, I mean, good takeaways. So, like from a racing standpoint, I never get the swag bags because it's just like a bunch of crap. I do love walking away from events where I'm like, oh my god, there's a skincare product. Like at the Formula One, they gave us like gift bags both nights. It was unbelievable. We got like Versace hand cream, we got this like Selene uh like serum. We got what else did we get? We got beautiful, like insulated bags that I would actually use, like to transport stuff with. It was just oh, we got Moroccan oil shampoo and conditioner.
SPEAKER_00I love that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was like really I mean, they're small. I actually use that, but I think that yeah, same.
SPEAKER_00I do too. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03David was like, Don't we have this in our bathroom? So yeah, I think good takeaways are good or nothing. Like, don't give me crap, only give me good stuff, or just give me nothing.
SPEAKER_00So we talk about all the things that we love and the excitement of going to these different events. Share with me an experience where you're like, they should have done that differently.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so poor lighting and the worst, the number one thing from both a presenter, so being a speaker and being a participant is bad audio.
SPEAKER_00Yes, and sometimes you can't help it, right?
SPEAKER_03I can't help it and my heart breaks because I'm sure whoever's doing the event knows it, but man, does it kill a vibe? I mean, it just kills a vibe. So, you know, what you what I can imagine, I mean, to do your best and you want to do your best is like from a presenter or from uh someone putting on an event is walking through the space, practicing, like going to like you know, have someone sit at the back end, stand with a microphone or the headset, whatever you're gonna do, just you know, put up a reel on your phone and just practice. Talking, making sure that the audio and video video is is deliverable because that that's really challenging because people are there to learn and they want to be engaged.
SPEAKER_00Now that I reflect on all the different events that I've gone to there have been a deaf a couple hiccups and people like complaining in the background and not being able to hear. You know, for me, and I'm just gonna be like super transparent here, there's nothing more than when I go and I'm so excited because I follow somebody on Instagram or I have their book or I'm following them on Patreon or I've just been dreaming and gushing and wanting to meet these people my whole career that I saved up $5,000 to go see only to find out they're fucking assholes. You know, and you walk up to them and you're like dreamy eyed and you're thinking like oh my God you've been my biggest aesthetic crush. You've been my I want to emulate you. I want to dress like you I want my practice to look like I want to smell like you and then you go to shake your hand and they look at you like I'm sorry did do I mean are we having a conversation because I have to go and make another 10,000 in the next room. Right. That is something that won't give you the time of day they will not give you the time of the day not remembering you were right there. You were in the audience you were the person following them.
SPEAKER_03And also you're funding it like as the person paying the money like you're funding them being there. Yes.
SPEAKER_00And so I've had a couple of experiences where I have been disheartened because these the you know the people that I really try to emulate because I respect them for you know their clinical practice and I'm like you're you're actually a dick. Yeah and I actually don't like you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah and I and this is not how you treat your you know well you don't risk your colleagues right absolutely yeah so I don't know if you've ever had that experience but I've definitely been off put by people where I'm like ooh like I thought of them one way I'm thinking one person in particular and then I got there I met them I've even been on a panel with someone if more particular that I was like super excited to be on a panel with I was like oh my god I can't believe I'm sitting here with him this is gonna be awesome and the person was just so arrogant and so unapproachable and she oh my god I had another one this was the worst this was the worst I was actually I wanted to like run off the stage and like hide where I was sitting with a panelist and someone asked a question like a very nice woman had a very genuine question about her daughter and the response that this other panelist gave was so aggressive so harsh so demeaning I mean I felt bad for this woman she was asking for advice not to be patronized by her like parenting decisions right and in my head I literally I was embarrassed it was actually embarrassed where I was like you are a medical professional like we need to show empathy and this person is trying to I was so I remember just being so mad damage goes your face was horrible and I was like yeah that was terrible I really wanted to like turn to this person and be like please stop talking yeah absolutely and I think you know I think for us like you know I know I I know that a lot of actually my colleagues follow you and listen to you and I know you had a three day free webinar where a lot of people jumped on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah and you know they really spoke about how you seem so approachable you seem so likable and uh other guests on there may have come across like a little harsh a little bit harsh. So yeah I think that we are in a position where like if you're a leader in the history or you're looking to teach I mean there are people that really like hold and grasp every word that you say and they're just so excited to you know be able to come and meet you and have my God I'm totally going to disappoint you though. Well here's the thing they're gonna think that they can just jump on a party bus with me because they know me as injector cha cha yeah that's how and then when I sit them down who I am yeah I am who I am on and off.
SPEAKER_03I mean I I appreciate you saying that I I mean I think we're both in that boat. I mean you I tell everybody I mean they're especially when they ask about the number one question I always get is what do you do for your skincare? And I'm like her name is I don't actually do anything I have a person and I just trust everything that she says. So I think you know people are always looking to to hit a pain point right so it's and you probably see this a lot in your chair someone's like oh I I want to get some Botox because I don't like my wrinkles but it's always deeper right no pun intended but it's not just your wrinkles you're not happy about what you see in the mirror and that's bleeding into your self-confidence. So maybe you're not performing it well as well at work or you're not as engaged in your marriage because again you lack the esteem. So what we do with treating the patients that we see is a very privileged place to be. And I feel that same way throwing an event like it's a privilege to have people want to come and celebrate the thing that you want to give to the world. So like for us we want to talk about beauty biology and beyond. We want to talk about what it means to be the healthiest internal person as you can be and have that beauty show on the outside as well. And that's a privilege.
SPEAKER_00It is absolutely a privilege. You know I'm gonna give a shout out to a good friend of mine Carrie and she always says Charia every time I sit in your chair it's not about me going to visit my injector although we are friends she's like you always give me like this deep human experience right because when you are connected with that other person you develop a relationship beyond just the patient physician fate patient provider relationship and it really is about giving people confidence. Yeah you know they walk differently they start dressing they bring themselves after you know after I started um you know taking your advice finally becomes something where I inspire other people I like I loved it when she said Charlie you give me a human experience you give me like I give you the best I give you the best outcome I give you do connect as I'm yelling at you because you want to move around fist fight I always get recommended that I have to be the last patient of the day because no one else is allowed to be in the office.
SPEAKER_03My goodness so it's an experience for sure I just don't know the like human is the word I would put around more like drill sergeant.
SPEAKER_00Drill sergeant yeah she's like sit here don't move so stop complaining I promise I'm not but I'm not like that with anybody besides Megan. Yeah but what is the rest of the week look like for you what are you what are you doing?
SPEAKER_03Um we're happy to be home that's for sure work is kicking my butt as always how's the birthday party planning coming along it's good so yeah so my dad turns oh my god I'm gonna get this wrong 73 on Tuesday and my husband turns I won't say he has a birthday on Wednesday so kill me. So very excited for baby king's birthday my parents are coming into town on Thursday and then we're throwing a party for both of them on Saturday which Tacha would be there.
SPEAKER_00We'll be there and wait is there a dress code no say that this let me tell you this Megan tells you just wear whatever makes you feel comfortable care. And then you walk in and she's got like a Versace gown on I'm like damn it Megan no that's not true.
SPEAKER_03It is true I think I'm gonna wear um I'll just tell you now so I think I'm gonna wear a matching set it's like shorts and a button down blouse. Most people will probably like Carrie will probably wear like a summer dress I can imagine. Robin will probably wear a summer dress as well. Lucy will be here with the baby.
SPEAKER_00Yay whatever she wants I was gonna wear like a black midi dress.
SPEAKER_03Is that perfect to dress up? No that's perfect because people will be dressed okay David will probably wear onesie I mean it's his birthday though he can wear whatever he wants to wear whatever he wants and Brian's coming the uh he's our DJ Brian's gonna DJ oh my god that's gonna be so yeah he DJ'd our New Year's Eve party so he's gonna DJ gonna have sea bass uh chef right Rhonda's I don't know if making she's making some type of fish I forget we have a big menu though like yeah we have a lot of food very excited about that and then we got this place in Westchester is making so my husband loves Gucci that's like his thing he loves it because his dad loved it. So they're making two tiered carrot cakes that's David's favorite and then they're putting this like big Gucci like emblem on the front. Oh my god this is great and we have like big sparklers to put in for that and we have two bartenders so it'll be really fun I think it's espresso martinis are going to be like the like theme drink and then we'll have everything else as well. But yeah it'll be fun we have I think like 40 people coming so it'll be it'll be so much fun. Yeah it's gonna be a lot um very grateful so the last time was New Year's Eve that I threw a party at this capacity and I wound up I have such bad OCD staying up till four o'clock in the morning cleaning my house my gosh so my housekeeper has promised me she's coming on Sunday she's like please don't do that again like I will be there so trying to be good.
SPEAKER_00I am preparing so I sit on the outstanding women's committee for the chamber Northern Kentucky Chamber and next next Thursday which is June the fourth so two days before your party it's gonna be the event day. And so today we had a meeting in regards to talking about throwing events and how challenging it is right yes and a budget right so you put together a budget and then you think that you're gonna be able to get all this sponsorship which is incredibly hard. Yeah right and we're falling short and it happens right so we're all scrambling to see it's like where do you rob Peter to pay Paul or we're able to uh other sponsors yeah so um yeah I I did not know that well I didn't know all the things that happened behind the scenes when putting together an event that's why when you said kudos to people that put on these events I mean good for them and because I mean this could honestly be a one and done and be like I'm not doing this shit again.
SPEAKER_03I doubt that that's the thing. It is a lot of work but it's worth it because I do think one I think it's important to get together in general. If COVID taught us nothing it is that we should not be isolated. Yes.
SPEAKER_00We should be together. Talking about mental health issues during you thought I was losing my mind.
SPEAKER_03Oh 100% several times I was like oh my God this is what it feels like. So I think getting together being in person connecting I like allowing a space for people to ask questions and and and meet each other like nothing makes me happier than when my friends become friends. Right?
SPEAKER_00I do love that.
SPEAKER_03I do love that I love like putting people together. Yeah so I think that will be great.
SPEAKER_00And you're not territorial with your friends. You're like oh yeah and I love that oh yeah like some people can be territorial.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god no not it makes me happy like I saw a picture this weekend my friend Carrie who lives down the street was hanging out with my friend Robin Cohen who's been on the podcast and they've really connected lately and that made me super happy because I know both of them like have some downtime alone together and I was like oh my god that's such a good fit and Carrie doesn't have dogs like the limit Robin has this little toy poodle named Whiskey. He's super cute. The problem is he literally looks like a toy so when she brings him over my dogs think he's a toy and I'm pretty sure Nova tried to eat him once. So whiskey doesn't come over because I just tell her I'm like listen you can bring him but you'll have to carry him around because I I don't and I would I would feel so bad if Nova actually tried to eat her dog. But Carrie doesn't have a dog so they can like hang out all day long with with whiskey. So I think connecting is is super super important. But um but yeah we'll see we'll see how I feel like how we feel post event.
SPEAKER_00We'll have obviously like a lot of recaps about it. I told uh I told our team Megan's gonna take us to Florida.
SPEAKER_03I mean what did I say why I said Megan's taking us as long as we make a profit which I doubt we will hey we have the balls to do this oh my god this weekend like we had a a conversation and yeah I was telling David I'm like are you excited for my event and he just goes like how much in the hole should I expect and I was like you don't worry about that I got it he's like I don't trust you at all and you know the great thing is because you and I have both been practicing in these areas we have built great relationships with our super blessed yeah we are absolutely I mean everyone I will say super blessed everyone I've asked to be a part of the event or help has said yes within one minute. Yeah I mean literally I mean just to to give him a huge shout out so one of my old business partners and I mean just again to be very transparent with our listeners so I was at a practice I helped open a practice many years ago and I left that practice. I left with my business partner Vince so that we could open up Vital Medical and you can appreciate that the the people I was working with obviously like weren't super stoked right that I left and there were some hard feelings but we're adults and we've grown and we moved on and so one of the people I asked to speak at our event who's an awesome person just like unbelievably good health coach just awesome entrepreneur business person is an IFB pro bodybuilder all these things literally within one minute he was like yeah of course I'll be there and he goes okay it's on my calendar what are the dates he's like just show me tell me when to show up and what you want me to talk about. Yeah and we didn't even hesitate and I was like wow that is growth and you know what I will tell you Dr.
SPEAKER_00Oakley uh she has um she she landed a job and she can talk about that but she said tell me again when you girls need me because I'll start my job after that's that's how committed people are to just recognizing that she gets to talk on Saturday so she can work on Friday. We can work around schedule so she's the best yeah um no so we're you know and here's the thing we're so blessed in in this area like I feel like we need this in this area.
SPEAKER_03We do yeah we do because there is not I mean not to be like this like border Cincinnati there's a lot of things that we don't get in this area.
SPEAKER_00Yeah we don't have we have to travel to Miami Chicago Detroit who wants to do that so bringing some excitement to the area and let us just share this with our listeners this is not just for medical providers it is for people who are very interested and vested in their optimal health there's so many different things and different this is open form for everybody to come yeah yeah yeah like I would say I mean our patients and our and people who maybe aren't our patients but fit that demographic and men too I mean yeah come and learn about different topics on health and wellness and gut health beauty yeah everything peptide testosterone we're gonna be covering everything everything aesthetics and a lot of opportunities yeah we're gonna have a lot of opportunities too I think one thing that's important is I don't like to be talked at right so we will have live podcasts where the theme will be people can ask us questions.
SPEAKER_03So if there are things you want to know more about in the space that we practice in and even if we don't know about it, we you know we can just chat GPT and I'm just kidding we can ask and we can put that up you know for our panel as the weekend progresses. But we really want to be engaged with our audience.
SPEAKER_00We're not we're gonna slowly tease out our guest speakers but we have some incredibly talented experts coming on who are traveling from far and near to make this a very incredible well worth it event. So we are so super excited and we'll kind of tease out some things in the future.
SPEAKER_03So if you would like the privilege of sitting next to Dr. David Morales he said that uh you can buy a ticket for $1,000.
SPEAKER_02I'm just kidding he's trying to help us raise money I know he was like just tell them they get the privilege of sitting next to me and then I reminded him nobody wants to sit next to you.
SPEAKER_00We're gonna offer an incredible curated personal experience personal VIP experience. We'll talk about that a little bit more yeah but always we're so grateful that you join us and that you support us and um 100% we promise if you ever come to our uh events that we're not assholes that we're actually approaching.
SPEAKER_03No my God no we're super excited please come talk to us I will say you'll see me like a psychopath running around I tend to get very anxious. So I would appreciate people coming to talk to me because it'll bring my anxiety level down. Otherwise I'm just gonna be worried the whole time like are you happy? Are you cold? Are you warm? Is the bathroom clean do you need coffee? Do you need what what can I do to help you? And so I just need you to be like hey Megan everything's great. Yeah no problem chill the fuck out or I'll be like hey hey have a drink I know charge or I'll be like putting Bailey's in my coffee the entire time all right that's a wrap thank you everybody have a great rest of your week we'll see you next week
