SPEAKER_00Hello. Shirt there. You look so handsome. I like the blue. Everyone misses you. You have to make another appearance. Okay. Perfect.
SPEAKER_01Bye bye. Have fun. So we are live. We are live. Oh, I gotta turn that camera over up. Welcome to another episode of Beyond the White Coat Podcast.
SPEAKER_02Yes. And we are shooting on a Tuesday because we have a lot going on. Um, I'm going on a little trip with my family. Where are you going? So here's a funny thing. My brother texts me one day and he's like, hey, I bought a yacht.
SPEAKER_00What? And you're like, yeah, like you're a fucking liar.
SPEAKER_02But I guess in the world of boats, I guess there's like classification of whatever. And he literally bought, like, it's considered a yacht, but it's not a yacht. It's like a two-bedroom, like, I don't even know. I don't know anything about boating.
SPEAKER_01What qualifies a yacht? We have to look that up.
SPEAKER_02We have to look it up. If there's any like boat lovers on the book, because I've been watching below deck.
SPEAKER_01That was the first thing I thought. Yeah. I watch it just to like turn my brain off sometimes. When I say watch, it's like on in the background because you're you you don't need to watch it to understand, right? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So funny things. So he's like, hey, I bought a yacht. And so I'm like, my brother and I are like so close in age and we like kill each other, but we love each other. I'm like, whatever, dude. And so he sends me the picture. It's really, really nice. Oh wow. And he's like, Do you want to come on my yacht? And I'm like, well, I will go on your boat and check it out, and I would definitely help you decorate. And so this, like, the last two months, he's been working really hard because it's good. It's always good to have a project, too. It is, it's great, but I think that it there it's deep rooted, right? So, you know, getting these things, I think, and I can understand and I can definitely relate because it's about like making my dad feel like he has accomplished. Yes. So here's a here, it's actually pretty sad. So, like growing up, my dad is like a military dad, very, very strict, definitely runs the house, definitely wants to control your life, definitely wants to tell you how to live your life. And so if you sat down and asked him, he probably said would say that all of his kids have failed him because we're not all like doctors and surgeons and all these things.
SPEAKER_01So many comments for him.
SPEAKER_02Right. But specifically for my brother, because he's the only boy in the family, my dad would have probably wanted him to like do something in his eyes that are like, you know, in the Asian culture, you're like either an attorney, a doctor, a business owner, you're like some sort of billionaire, essentially.
SPEAKER_01Right, right.
SPEAKER_02And so my brother had such a deep passion for like coaching children and like soccer. He just loves soccer. And I remember my brother coming to me and like being in tears. And I'm sorry, I don't mean to put this out there. He's probably gonna kill me. But he's like, I really love what I do. I am so impactful in these children's lives. And Megan, when I he let me live with him when I was going through my master's program, there were piles of letters from his students that he coached that said how impactful he was. And so, but as a soccer coach, yeah, as a soccer mentor, you're like not making a lot of money. Sure. And so I remember him saying, like, these are my dreams. I want to build this academy. And shout out to him and Cusouli, because they own QST, which is a same Cusoli. Yeah, Cusouli. So Casoulli used to play for uh FC. Oh wow. And so they own three locations of QST, which is a sponsor of B3 Summit. Yay! So it's nice that things have come full circle for him and he continues to pursue what he loved, and it's and it's worked out. It's worked out for him. And so yeah, I'm going on his yacht. I love that.
SPEAKER_01I love that. Why are your cheeks so big? My God, can you? I can see your bruise too on this side here. No one can see it on camera though. She looks like a chipmunk if you're just listening.
SPEAKER_02Definitely got injected with sculptra. And this is what many vials? So I got two vials today. Okay. It's my maintenance, and I have a photo shoot next week for Hugh Branding. So I'm just trying to spruce up and look a little bit nice.
SPEAKER_01I have an appointment coming up. I'm so excited. Yes, yes, yes. What'd you do? What have you been up to? So last weekend, big weekend, my stepson shout out, uh, started medical school. And so they have what's called a white coat ceremony, which is where they get their white coat. And if you have someone in your life, a friend or a family member who's a physician, instead of the uh dean of students putting your coat on for you, they can put their coat on for you. So my husband went and got to cloak his son, which was so great. It was so emotional. I was like, oh my God. It was so great. So we got to spend the whole weekend with him and his girlfriend, which was beautiful.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yeah, yeah. Oh my god. He's nice.
SPEAKER_01He is such a nice young man. And we just had a great time. We went for a long run, which running with the two of them. I mean, they're 23 and 24. Oh my god. I am 40. I'm like the old woman dying, but it was fine. Survived. Went running, had some good food, went and saw his new apartment, which is really beautiful.
SPEAKER_02And where is he going to school? Did you tell us?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, Eastern Tennessee State University. It's called the Quillin College of Medicine. So he's very, yeah, he's very happy. So starting medical school, it's been great, very, very exciting. So we did that, and then this week we have a surgeon in town that we're trying to recruit for Cincinnati Children's Hospital. So I had we got back, I cooked dinner for him, and then that's where David's going tonight for dinner. And then the next two nights we're in Lexington for more work stuff, and then I have Martha, my stepson's girlfriend, coming up on Friday to uh run with me on Saturday. So it'll be good. Busy, but lots of family stuff going on. And work is just like working. What were you gonna say?
SPEAKER_02I've got a dilemma.
SPEAKER_01Okay, what's up?
SPEAKER_02So I love gossip sometimes, and it's bad, but this is now really affecting me. So I belong this to this group called Are We Dating the Same Guy? There's like 60,000 members. What?
SPEAKER_01Now, can it narrow like down by city, or how does that work?
SPEAKER_02I think it's like a region thing because there's people from Dayton, okay, so it's like from Northern Kentucky. Okay, there's people from Columbus. Because I would imagine, and this is on Facebook. This is on Facebook. There's like 60,000 people on Facebook.
SPEAKER_01It's literally like the title of a Netflix show.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, right? And so sometimes like I'm just on Facebook and I'm like, oh, let me like just scroll and troll and just do all the things. And you know, I'm single, so I'm like, hey, is the guy that I'm on, and you know the guy that I'm dating on there? And so how does it work? It's it's just it's just a platform for women to share like questions.
SPEAKER_01I'm dating this person, like put their name in, what they look like.
SPEAKER_02There's like administrative rules. Like I would never post anything, so I really don't pay attention to all the rules. I just like read the bulletin and like you know, you never know. Like I said, like I'm like, oh, I'll never see anybody that I know here. Right. I kid you not, Megan. I'm going through the pictures and I see my friend's husband on there. And so for a second, I'm like, oh well, you know, maybe they're separated and maybe they're going through a divorce. Stop it. So I go on her page and there's a picture of them as her pri profile picture. So what do you do? I clicked on the comments, and there are women in there that are like, I think he's married, and some are saying this other woman jumped on and said, No, he's definitely getting a divorce because like I was with him last weekend.
SPEAKER_01And so And can you see the day that they posted that? Like you have the date okay.
SPEAKER_02Oh, absolutely. And and mo, you know, most of these women are anonymous or whatever. Yeah, yeah. But truly, I do think that the majority of the women are on there, probably more than 80%, are genuinely like trying to help other women to make sure like there's you know that they're like also how dumb are these men?
SPEAKER_01I mean, if they're I mean, we are not stupid, like we we have tools to find you out. Like, we definitely do.
SPEAKER_02And oh my god. So now I'm like, what do I do with this information? Because what if I what if there's something that I don't know? Maybe if that like they have this agreement, like I just you know, it's it's incredible. Would you want to know?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I would want to know. I'd want someone to definitely tell me. Yeah, I definitely would want to know. I'd want to know, I'd want to verify it, and yes, I'd want to confront it. But not everyone maybe feels that way, but I would want to know. Would you want to know?
SPEAKER_02Well, you know, like when I was in college, my college sweetheart cheated on me and I was devastated. How did you find out? His best friend told me, and I do think his best friend had a crush on me and wanted to break us up, but I was I was completely like blindsided. And so I would went to my mom and I said, Mom, this is the situation that I'm in. And she's like, Do you want to leave him? And I'm like, No, I don't want to leave him. Like, I love him. This is like my first like through growth. And my mom said, then turn the other cheek.
SPEAKER_01I don't know that I could do that. I don't know. Right. I mean, everyone's situation's different. And I guess there are some people who do accept it, right? Depending on your relationship, they don't want to know. Right. Or they think, oh, it's just a phase, maybe they'll grow out of it and come back, right? I mean, you hear that or you see that even, you know, in news stories and oh my god.
SPEAKER_02I mean, uh I mean, now I would definitely want to know.
SPEAKER_01I would want to know.
SPEAKER_02I'm telling you right now, if you see David, I mean if I see David out and he's not doing the right thing, it's gonna be like this psychopath chary, I just hit me with her car.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Also, David, yeah, David. I don't mean to be like this. Like he couldn't have a side piece because he can't have a side piece. He can barely manage like regular texting. You know what I mean? Like he wouldn't know how to like execute that. He wouldn't know how to do that. Like, yeah, he doesn't know where he lives, you know. So it's it that would just be he doesn't and also I check the credit cards every single day. I mean, he couldn't get anywhere because he doesn't know how to log into the bank account or the credit card or open up a new credit card. So like yeah, it would be way too challenging. But I'll tell you another crazy story, just talking about crazy stuff. So I like to sometimes watch on pops up on my YouTube, it's called News Nation. But, anyways, there's a story, and they keep calling it the Ohio House of Horrors, horrors, and horrors. I know horrors. So the story is it's a family, so it's mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, and 16 children, all under the age of 17, some are twins who live in Venton, V-E-N-T-O-N County. The mom is she's less than 40 because she got married at 15 in West Virginia when she was pregnant the first time. And she's had 16 children. She actually, I think, had 18. She had conjoined twins that died.
SPEAKER_02Oh, wow. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01And the reason why they're calling it the House of Horrors is essentially the county went in. I don't, oh, there was um a warnout for the dad's arrest for public indecency. And when they went in, all these children were living in this like deplorable environment. This like one-bedroom house with like feces everywhere. The kids have never gone to school. Um, a lot of them are not verbal, medically ill. And so I've just been following this case. Isn't that horrible? That is so sad.
SPEAKER_02I mean, just imagine being a child that's raised in that household and then like being rescued and seeing what the real world looks like. That would probably be just so much therapy that is needed just to be. So first, yes.
SPEAKER_01How are things with work going?
SPEAKER_02Work is going good. It's always a little bit slower in the summertime, but it gives me an opportunity to just kind of work on our different projects. Um, one being our B3 summit. But I I will tell you, I had to visit a friend in hospice. I'm sorry. And so that has made me do a lot of reflection on just like maybe relationships that I or things that I've just kind of held on to that hasn't served me well.
SPEAKER_01Sure.
SPEAKER_02And so just being in a situation where I am being challenged to really reflect on life has made me, I think it's always like that when we're going through a difficult situation. It just gives us time to reflect. And I really, as unfortunate as the situation is, it it really has helped me work through maybe some uh some things that I needed to let go of. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Good.
SPEAKER_02So some growth, some growth. Unfortunately, one of our uh good family friends, uh, he was a star athlete when he was younger. Okay. And we noticed a couple years ago that he lost, he had unintentional weight loss, like 30 to 40 pounds within like two months. Oh wow. And he's a very attractive gentleman. And I I said to my sister, I said, there's just something that's not quite right. It took a really long time for them to diagnose him with dementia. And so, you know, my and I I'm not like by all means, I'm not like familiar with his medical case or anything like that, but I really think that maybe playing football.
SPEAKER_01Yes, and CTE.
SPEAKER_02Yes, yeah, yes, yes, yes, and seeing him just decline so rapidly. But they um diagnosed him with dementia about two years ago, and it was it was very quick. Oh, that's terrible. So that's terrible prayers to their family.
SPEAKER_01100%. Yeah, but yeah, all right, we got some QA's.
SPEAKER_02What do we have going on today?
SPEAKER_01A lot. All right. All right, let's mm here.
SPEAKER_02You ask me and I ask you something.
SPEAKER_01Okay, yeah. If someone has $1,000 to spend on their appearance this year, where should they invest it?
SPEAKER_02First they should come to Hugh. Yes. You know what? I am definitely just gonna say skincare, medical grade skincare.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Um, and here's the thing when I say medical grade, like it doesn't matter necessarily where you're at in your journey because it's so customizable to each decade of life. So in your 20s, I'm gonna recommend something different from your 30s and 40s, and obviously if you have skin conditions. So just because we're talking about medical grade, it's not one size fits all. We can definitely make sure that we're addressing your particular problems and your goals. So there, perfect. All right, you asked me one. All right. Ooh, this is good. Once you lose weight, do you have to stay on a GLP one forever?
SPEAKER_01Oh my God, that's a great question. It depends. I will say for most people, yes. And hear me out, not just for the weight loss, but for the health. So we're gonna talk about the four horsemen of the apocalypse. What are the four reasons why adults die in America? Number one, ASCBD, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease. The American Heart Association in JAMMA put out a paper several years ago showing a 22% reduction in what's called a MACE score, major adverse cardiac event with the use of GLP1 therapy. So for that, two, diabetes goes without saying. So being on a GLP1, which by and large is a diabetic drug, will reduce the risk of diabetes and all the comorbidities that come with that significantly. Three, reduction in 10 out of 13 age-related cancers, including colon cancer, which is very deadly for anyone who's had it, glioblastoma, several different metabolic and age-related cancers. Four, neurological disease. So the brain is made up of three things: water, fat, and salt, not sugar, which is why, again, the ketogenic diet is something that's used, you know, for intractable epilepsy and for people say when they're in ketosis, right? They have a neurological clarity. So there are multiple studies showing a reduction in the onset as well as the progression of Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, ALS, MS, all these neurological conditions. So for those reasons, which have nothing to do with how much you weigh, I think that people should stay on a GLP one.
SPEAKER_02All right. Uh okay. Um, we're gonna have people reach out to us about that. Yes.
SPEAKER_01What treatment gives patients the biggest wow, I'd wish I'd done this sooner reaction?
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna go to your GLP patients. So when you're on a GLP, you are going to lose superficial fat pad. Ozempic face, right? Ozempic face. And you know, as everybody has, if you tuned in, you know I love sculpture and I love sculpture for many different reasons. But if you're talking about the histology of the skin, you have to understand when you're on a GLP one, your histological changes in the tissue of your face will actually change. So you definitely are gonna slow down your fibroblasts, need to be active for you to create collagen. So your fibroblasts start to slow down. It's already naturally declining as you age, but GLP1 specifically because you're doing you're losing so much weight drastically, there is a function change in the fibroblasts. The superficial fat pads are really responsible for beautiful contour of the face. And um, we know for a fact that you lose superficial fat pads. And the other thing is you can lose some deep fat pads as well. So I share with my patients as they're going through their GP GLP1 journey, and there's this big, there's this big argument about inflammation because GLP ones control inflammation, and then do can is it gonna affect sculpture? Well, I am telling you uh clinically and also through research, I will tell you that you will still get results with sculpture. The thing with sculptra is you gotta look at sculpture in an isolated area like the face. You are creating an inflammatory response in the face and you are creating collagen still in the face. The GLP one works like in your general system, yeah. Everywhere. So people just think like, okay, if you're on a GLP one and you're getting sculpture, it's not gonna work. That is not true. Yeah. Because I'm on a GLP one and I've been getting sculpture and it works. Yeah. Okay. So basically, going back to my patients that wish that they would have listened to me is my GLP one patients when I'm like, let me help you gradually lose weight in your face in a healthy manner and not have drastic fiberblast changes, collagen decline. And there's also gonna be some fluctuations in your hormones that obviously you can help with and myself as well. So sculpture, sculpture, like it. All right. You asked me, can you have normal labs and still have hormone imbalance? Yes.
SPEAKER_01Happens all the time. So, you know, your estrogen may be let's say during your late luteal phase 89, your progesterone is four, and your testosterone is 30, which are all normal. But you can still have symptoms of hormone imbalance, such as menorasia, heavy periods, painful periods, abnormal bleeding, you can have PMS, you can have migraines associated, mood swings, mood changes. And that's also because blood work is a snapshot or any kind of hormone testing is a snapshot in time, unless you're using maybe like a mirror device, which tracks throughout your whole cycle to understand patterns. Also during the perimenopause transition, sometimes one month your hormones may be on paper fine. And then the next month you may release two eggs and your estrogen goes from 80 to 800 all of a sudden, and then plummets back down. Maybe the next month you don't release an egg. So I always tell my patients it's good to understand a baseline, like let's look for you know, red flag, smoking guns, but really treat the symptoms to not the labs.
SPEAKER_02Megan, have you ever worked with like a fertility clinic to get somebody in optimal health?
SPEAKER_01Uh yeah, I mean, we we do treat infertility as much as we can. I mean, there are obviously limitations, and we're not, you know, that's not our primary goal. A lot of it is metabolic driven. The ovaries are very sensitive and they do not like insulin resistance. So a lot of it's getting people healthy and improving their blood sugar control, progesterone optimization, estrogen detoxification. We obviously We're thinking about fertility, we don't really mess around with testosterone because that's androgenic and can be harmful to a fetus. And then we monitor lutinizing hormone to look for ovulation and abnormalities there from the brain to the ovaries, FSH, and egg reserve through antimalarian hormones. So we do as much as we can. And then if obviously they're unsuccessful, we refer out. I will say a lot of fertility cases, more and more are more about the man than the woman because testosterone levels are declining across the board. And with that, we're having low sperm count, low sperm motility. So there's so many women I see who their blood work looks perfect. They menstruate perfectly, they ovulate perfectly, they're not getting pregnant, and the problem's not them, it's him. So we we do a lot of counseling for that as well. Nice. If you could instantly convince everyone to change one habit tomorrow morning, what would it be? I would want everybody to use SPF. That's a great answer.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Yes, please. And specifically now, because there's new different types of sunscreens that not only protect you from UVA and B rays, which we're bombarded with and have always been, we know about, but then we are also being exposed to artificial lights right now.
SPEAKER_01I love the Zio uh mineral uh SPF. I think it's I think it's a 50. I'm almost positive, but I love it. It's a little, it's they also use it as like a primer, so it's very mattifying. So it almost looks a little light, but it's really effective.
SPEAKER_02So I will say this for myself. I was horrible at wearing SI. Oh my god, I was terrible growing up. I was always taught, like, because I'm darker, had like melanocytes that protect my skin. And I remember going to a dermatologist's office because I had acne. And so we were just doing different types of things to my skin. And they was like, Well, let me look at your skin and seeing, because when you have acne, you have chronic inflammation, you're gonna have like scarring underneath the skin. So I think they wanted to see like how healthy my skin was, and part of that test shows you how much sun damage that you have. I mean, it just happened to be a part of it. Yeah, yeah, and it was a blue lamp and he a woozlamp, I'm sorry, and he turned off the light and my face lit up like a fourth of July. And I was like, Oh my gosh. And he's like, Do you not wear sunscreen? I'm like, I don't have to. I have darker skin. My melanocytes are like full functioning. I probably have like a lect, you know, extra. And he's like, You have horrific sun damage. And then uh, yeah, I started wearing sunscreen. So just because you are a fits four five six, it doesn't matter. You still have to wear sunscreen. Yes. Oh my god. All right, all right, let's go. Let's see.
SPEAKER_01Well, you look, I'm turning off this music because I can hear it downstairs.
SPEAKER_02Oh I know this is something that you are gonna love. Um fitness and performance question, and you can only choose one, okay? Because I know you're gonna say, well, all of them are important, equally important, but you only get to pick one. Now you can put it in order from one to three, but definitely pick one. Okay. What's more important for the average person? Oh god. Strength training, cardio or sleep.
SPEAKER_01Or sleep. I will sleep is very important, but we always say fitness forgives a lot of sins. I'm going to say fitness for like exercise forgives a lot of sins, like even poor sleep. I know this is controversial because we're all on a strength training kick, and I also very much believe in strength training. I do it every day, but I'm gonna say cardiovascular training. And that's because there can be a strength component. You can walk up a hill with a weighted vest that's technically cardio, but it's still strengthening. You can row, you can ski, you can cycle, all the things. Because one biomarker for longevity, so how long you're going to live and how well you're going to live, is your VO2 max. Your VO2 max is the maximum amount of oxygen or your maximum oxygen capacity that your heart can pump throughout your organs, which is again directly related to longevity. So I would probably say cardiovascular training. I mean, I want to say sleep is most important, but it's probably not resistance training and then sleep. But sleep lasts. They're all important, but they're all important.
SPEAKER_02And you know, the crazy thing is that I don't get that much sleep. I am always like up and up and moving. Yes. Um, you know what I'm most fascinated by is like, you know, even like David, how he can perform surgery and just be up.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that is really training like your brain endurance there.
SPEAKER_01I do believe in sleep, I want to be clear. Okay. What's one health hack that's completely overrated? Or you can make one skin hack or health hack that's completely overrated.
SPEAKER_02Interesting. Okay. So there's this really cute guy that because I watched him on Instagram, I forgot his name, but he's like this big gigantic, he's like 6'5 athlete. Okay. Every morning he gets up and he shoves his face in like ice. Ice. Oh, I see those all the time. Right? And it's like to wake up and it's like to get you going. And then he's like, this ice literally takes me on like a whole nother trajectory. I'm ready to like go and like conquer the weight. He uses a particular type of water. And the water company, because after he he's gotten like 60 million views over this one thing that he does. And so the water company actually wanted him to go into like a partnership because he's gotten so many views, and he declined because he wanted a percentage, like a royalty, and it's already established. So they just wanted to give him like that viewership, like sponsorship, uh, partnership, but he turned it down. So waking up and shoving your face in some ice cold water.
SPEAKER_01What do you think? I think it's great for your waking up your nervous system. I don't I don't think it's gonna make or break your entire day. You know what I mean? Like, so I agree. It's a good one. Yeah, definitely overrated. All right.
SPEAKER_02Right. Let's see. So the only reason I'm gonna ask you this question is I had a patient of mine share with me that in her, she is Hispanic, and she said that in her country that they start checking at a very young age. So my question to you is at what age should men and women start checking their hormones?
SPEAKER_01Oh, that's a great question. I would say at the age of menarchy for women, so when you start menstruating once a year, you should check your hormones so you look for trends. For men, that's a good call, hypogonadal. I would probably say definitely before you're considering hormone therapy. So if you're a young guy and you're like, I want to get on testosterone, you have to check your levels first. Other than that, I would say specifically hormones, probably 25 feel if I had to give a year. That's a great question.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01If you could instantly convince everyone to change one habit tomorrow morning, what would it be?
SPEAKER_02Hmm. In regards to aesthetics, ooh, I would want everybody to wash their face at night. Do people not wash their face at night? No. Oh my god, I'm a psychopath. People sleep with their makeup on, yes. And they don't wash their faces. I mean, this goes to just like making sure that you're cleansing your skin, getting that cute.
SPEAKER_01You are falling asleep with their makeup on. Shame on.
SPEAKER_02Unless you're like super drunk, then like what can you do?
SPEAKER_01Shame on you. I could so true story. In our wedding vows, in our wedding vows, David talked about, he said, he goes, even if she's had, you know, a couple to drink, I know you will always do your skincare routine. I literally have been drunk as a skunk, like trying to take that out. But I'm in there getting my makeup off, washing. I do not miss. Do not fall asleep, ladies, with your makeup on. That is gross.
SPEAKER_02Wait, question for you. Tomorrow, somebody takes one thing away from your skincare regimen. What is gonna give you a nervous breakdown that they take away? All of it. Just one. I think I know. I'm gonna say your ZO growth factor.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I was gonna say a treatment, Sarah. Yeah. Yeah, for sure. Oh my god. Oh, that'd be too hard. Okay. What's one thing you personally do every day that has had the biggest impact on your health or your skin health?
SPEAKER_02This is this is what I'm gonna say because this comment made one of our videos go viral. We had like 40,000. Oh, the microneedling. I'm telling you, OG microneedling is phenomenal.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I mean, you have collagen induction therapy, you're stimulating fiberblasts. Because you can add treatment in it. Yeah. You're it's controlled injury. If you're healthy, we know what your inflammatory response and repair will look like. You can pair it with other things. And by the way, yes, this is a plug. We have a special running right now with a OG microneedling along with the get ready and glow peel, which also gives more exfoliation and collagen stimulation. But OG microneedling has changed. If if the you can't afford anything, if you do OG microneedling with good medical grade skincare, sure you're gonna you're gonna continue to stimulate those fibroblasts, you're gonna get better texture repair, you can soften lines. Yeah, and then you pair it with medical grade products. You know, that is a great investment. So OG microneedling has changed my life. All right. I like that. All right, so what's one fitness trend that's actually backed by science? Like a crazy trend that we wouldn't even think about.
SPEAKER_01I would say the the Norwegian four by four, which is it's essentially a workout, but it's there's there's papers on it. You can look it up, just look up research articles, Norwegian four by four, and you'll see several studies. So it's a training modality that essentially, this is for BO2 Max specifically. It's a maximum effort for four minutes, and four minutes is a long time. So, you know, it's not can't be everything, like you can't give it everything because you won't be able to hold it for four minutes, and then you get a three-minute rest and you repeat that four times. And it can be any modality. You could be swimming, you could be doing hill sprints, you could be cycling, again, rowing, stairs, whatever it is. But lots of data behind improving VO2 Max with that training protocol, usually done, I think twice of two to three times a month, I would say. No more than that, because it is very taxing. So, and you should have a warm-up and a cool down. So, like a really good, like 20-minute warm-up, get sweating, just kind of get everything going. You go into the workout and then maybe a five to 10-minute cooldown. So it's winds up being like a 45 minutes of work.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Fireway.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah. Sorry. What's one supplement or skincare product? Um, almost everyone should consider.
SPEAKER_02Well, we covered SPF, but if we're talking, let's talk about regenerative repair. Okay. I would probably go with a growth factor serum. Growth factors are the things that show up to help your body heal and different decades of life, you go through that regenerative process differently. And so you actually start to have extracellular matrix changes in your early 20s, believe it or not.
SPEAKER_01Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02So even though if you're not seeing like changes on the outside, I can tell you that you should be considering growth factors already to help extend that bioregenerative process. Sure. So yeah. All right. I have a hot seat question for you. Oh my god. I'd be most excited to hear her speak at the summit.
SPEAKER_00Oh my God.
SPEAKER_01I would say Erica Lugo. I love Erica Lugo. If you're listening, shout out Erica. I just think you are the G-O-A-G. Yeah, she's amazing. And she gave this talk last time I heard her speak in Miami about Instagram or about social media and really gave tangible breaks breakdown of like how to create a post, how to create a reel, how to create content in a way that captures engagement. And she went through and gave examples of like, okay, this post had me crying, talking about this, this is the pain point, this is the outcome, and got this many views. And this is me happy, kind of doing a silly dance, still kind of the same message, talking about what I'm struggling with in the outcome, and had this many views. And I've also heard her talk about her journey, her health journey, being on the biggest loser as a celebrity trainer. I mean, she's just a really amazing human. She's strikingly beautiful. She's one of those people when she sits next to you, you're like, oh my God, she's so pretty. She's beautiful. So pretty and so nice, and she's really funny. So I'm just excited to see her and excited to hear her speak. How about you? Can we let me just ask you about your social media situation?
SPEAKER_02Can you add a girl? Can you for our new followers? We've we've gotten maybe about a hundred new followers. Yeah, so welcome. Thank you.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. So my Instagram handle, which again wasn't huge. I had 3,000 followers, maybe a little more, was disabled. It's been like six weeks now. And so we had to restart. So we are rebuilding. It's megandelcorral.np. Super frustrating. I've never, Meta has never told me what I did wrong. It was never like, hey, this post violated our community standards. Nope, never once. Never happened. Never once.
SPEAKER_02So just please uh send out a social media prayer for us that Megan can get that back. And it's incredibly frustrating because we do try to honor like the rules and stuff like that in regards to and and it Megan's social media page was connected to our B3 Summit one, which we were on an incredible and thank you to you guys. What we our first first two weeks we rolled out, like we had a lot of viewership uh ticket sales and things stalled because the situation. So thank you for supporting us and thank you for sharing and stuff like that. So yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_01All right, and last question for me, please. What's the difference between looking refreshed and looking overdone?
SPEAKER_02I think when somebody sits in my chair and they say, probably I could just push a tape recorder because they say the same thing. I just want to look like I got good sleep. Yes. And that's refreshed. That is definitely refreshing.
SPEAKER_01And what do they say when they're okay with looking overdone?
SPEAKER_02I don't care what people think about me. This is what I want.
SPEAKER_01All right, give an example. Give a celebrity example of someone who's aged, looks refreshed, and then someone who looks overdone. Hmm.
SPEAKER_02So I think that I don't agree with some of the things she's done, but I think Jennifer Lopez has just I that's a great example, yes. She is stunning, but I do think she just got her boobs done. I think she got a breast orientation. Oh, and she looks phenomenal. Girl, get it.
SPEAKER_01Like, do it all. Yeah, do it all.
SPEAKER_02And that's a great example because it's incredible.
SPEAKER_01Incredible, but her face is you can tell she's 50, right? She doesn't look not like Chris Jenner, who is like 70, who looks now like she's 50, right? So I agree with you. That's a great one. And let's be clear.
SPEAKER_02Jennifer gets things done. Like for sure. Poor 1000% this is what we're talking about when we say aging intentionally. Yes. And knowing how to age. No, but she looks phenomenal. She looks phenomenal.
SPEAKER_01Um, Ida Lopez, you are smoke show girl, you get those two. Yeah, I want to. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I want to look like Body or everything. Who looks overdone? Oh God, Kim Kardashian. I mean, I used to think, yes, like I think even though she tried, I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm very jealous of her success. Go, Kim. Yeah, get it, Kim. Get it, Kim. Like, yes, billionaire, boss babe, yeah. Sweatpants right now. So I'm a supporter of Kim Kardashian. Yeah, yeah. And I, you know, I watch Kim Kardashian. Yeah, but I agree. It's she's just so much money and so much access to the best of the best. But at some point, one of her doctors needs to say, okay, like you're a little look, you're looking a little bit overdone. Yeah. Like I look back at her pictures before she had her nose done, and I think authentically, like that very exotic look was, I mean, she's just starting to look very done now. Yeah, I agree with that. Sometimes you can do so much that it actually ages you. And the perfect example is the perfect example was when Kylie Jenner, I mean, I think everybody saw it in the magazines where she had under-eye filler. And, you know, around the eyes, you have this very um fragile lymphatic system. So if you don't know how to put filler underneath the eye, which I would say if you have under-eye issues, your first solution is not under-eye filler, but we'll go back to that. Yeah. But she had under-eye filler, and you could see that it was poorly placed. She had Tyndall effect. You could see like the blue hue underneath there. It was just awful. But I think somebody must have told her, or she must have seen all the comments out here because we were all trolling how horrible she looked. It looks like she's had maybe the filler reversed or some sort of looks better. Um yeah, looks so much better.
SPEAKER_01Very good. All right. All right. Thank you, everyone. Uh like, subscribe, and share. If you in the show notes, I always have the uh B3 Summits for ticket sales. We'd love to see you. Beauty, biology, and beyond. It's September 18th and 19th here in Covington, Kentucky. It's the first time anything like this has been done.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we're very excited.
SPEAKER_02So excited.
SPEAKER_01MP charia, no, injector cha cha underscore NP. I definitely butcher I just like I literally type in NP and you're the first one that comes up. Wait, what is it again? Injector. Injector cha cha underscore NP. All right, mine's Megandelcarral.np. And otherwise, we'll see you next week. Have a good one. Thanks for joining us. David's gonna be on next week. Oh, David's joining us.
SPEAKER_02I thought he was kidding. All right, part two.
