God Reveals His Plan: How Scripture Guides Your Decisions Through Jesus
Ever felt stuck at a crossroads, desperately wanting to know God's plan? Should you take that job? Have that conversation? Say yes to that opportunity? We all face decisions where the right path isn't obvious, and in those moments, we want clarity. We want God to just tell us what to do.
Here's the good news: God does reveal His plan, and one of the primary ways He does it is through Scripture.
Welcome to Day 4 of Week 2 in our "Start Small: Small Steps. Big Results" series. Today we're exploring something incredibly practical—how Scripture guides our decisions. But not in the way you might think.
In John 5:39, Jesus tells the religious leaders: "You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me." The Scriptures aren't just about rules or principles—they testify about Jesus. And Jesus declared in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life."
The Connection: The Scriptures testify about Jesus. Jesus is the Way. Therefore, Scripture guides us because it points us to the One who IS the Way. God's plan isn't a formula—it's a Person. When Scripture reveals Jesus' character, values, heart, and love, it's actually showing us the Way forward.

The Practice: Bring your question to God. Read Scripture intentionally to encounter Jesus. Ask: What does this reveal about Jesus' character? What does He value? How would He respond? Journal your insights and look for patterns as God highlights aspects of Jesus' character relevant to your decision.
Your Challenge: Think about a decision you're facing. Ask God to reveal Jesus to you through Scripture in a way that guides this decision. Read looking for who Jesus is, what He values, how He responds. Journal what you're learning about Jesus and how His character speaks to your situation.
Scripture guides decisions—not by giving you a formula, but by revealing Jesus, who IS the Way.
