Get close to the FIRE of the Sacred Heart / the burning bush / Pope Leo's prayer to the Sacred Heart
It feels good to get close to the warmth of a fire during a cool night, but you wouldn't dare touch the fire itself. Yet the Sacred Heart is bursting in flames of love for us, and wants us not just to approach it, but to become engulfed in flames along with it and to spread this fire to the entire world. But how close is too close?
Mother Mary teaches us that just as the burning bush was not consumed, she allowed herself to be taken up into God's fire of love and was not destroyed but became the source of life for humanity.
