Speaker 1:

Hey, it's Laura and I am here with you for today's Peak of the Week. I am bringing you something extra special. I am reading some excerpts from my upcoming book, my first book Shine Brighter. This is an excerpt from Chapter 10, unlocking Infinite Possibility. From chapter 10, unlocking Infinite Possibility Imagine waking up every morning with a sense of purpose brimming with anticipation.

Speaker 1:

You don't know exactly what will happen, but you're certain of one thing the potential for life-changing encounters is just one step away. This is an attitude rooted in faith over fear, an attitude that attracts miracles, opportunities and, most importantly, people who can change your life. An attitude that unlocks the infinite potential within you and the boundless possibilities around you. If you are rolling your eyes at me, okay, I see you, but give me a chance here to explain. This can become your reality if you choose. It took me over four decades to finally get it.

Speaker 1:

Your life isn't exactly what you want it to be. Oh my gosh, I just found I have a typo in my book. Iphone, my book. This is awesome. If your life isn't exactly what you want it to be, you can decide to create something different. You can have what you want, do what you want and, most importantly, be who you want. What is one thing that you can do today to invite more possibility into your life? Maybe it's reaching out to someone who inspires you, journaling a dream you've been ignoring, or taking five minutes to visualize your ideal future. Begin now. It's okay, you can put this down and get busy. Or, if you want to keep going here, I go into the science of possibility.

Speaker 1:

While the concept of infinite possibility might sound mystical, research in psychology and neuroscience offers fascinating insights into how our expectations and beliefs literally shape our reality. Studies in the field of positive psychology have found that people with an expectation of goodness, who anticipate positive outcomes and opportunities, actually experience more positive events in their life. This isn't just wishful thinking. Neurologically, our brains contain what scientists call a retecticular Activating System, otherwise known as RAS, a bundle of nerves that filters the millions of bits of information we encounter every day, allowing only a small percentage to reach our conscious awareness. The RAS is heavily influenced by our beliefs and expectations, meaning we literally notice different things depending on what we believe. When you operate with a mindset of infinite possibility, your reticular activating system becomes programmed to notice opportunities that align with your aspirations, opportunities that may have always been there before, but remain invisible under a more limited mindset.

Speaker 1:

Oh, my goodness, I'm gonna stop right there and just ask you do you actually believe this, that you can have what you want, do what you want and be what you want and be who you want? I know, I know. When the first time someone told me that and was like, do you believe this? Every ounce of my body was uh, no, no, I do not believe that and I wouldn't say I'm 100% the way there on the have anything you want and do anything you want. I'm like I really want to believe it, but I am for certain that you can be who you want. You can be who you want, and that is intentionality. That is deciding who you want, and that is intentionality. That is deciding who you want to be. That is, oh.

Speaker 1:

Before you even get your day started in the morning, you are thinking about all the different scenes of your day and you are deciding in advance how they get to go. Will you open the door for a stranger? Will you greet a person across the hall with a big smile? You get to decide who you want to be. This speaking truth, this articulating possibilities this is what gets me so jazzed While I'm thinking through this, I'm literally like, oh, I kind of want to skip ahead and give you something even more, because this is something I catch from people so often and I was guilty of it for so many years, and this was being careful with your words.

Speaker 1:

Your words are so powerful. Your words are only as powerful as the belief behind them. If you speak something but don't truly believe in it, you're sending a mixed signal. On the other hand, when your words are infused with unshakable conviction in your potential, you become a magnet for miracles. So here we go the possibility declaration. So you want to use this practice to align your spoken words with your deepest beliefs about what's possible. All right.

Speaker 1:

Step one create a sacred space, find a quiet place where you won't be interrupted. Light a candle or create a small ritual that signifies this is a special time. Write your declaration On a blank page. Complete the sentence I am ready to create a life where and then let your imagination soar beyond current limitations, soar beyond current limitations Dream. I want you to speak it out loud, stand tall, read your declaration out loud, with conviction. I am ready to create a life where Now notice any internal resistance or doubt that arises.

Speaker 1:

Next step is refine for alignment. Rewrite any parts where you feel dishonesty or disbelief until your whole body resonates with the truth of your words. This may take several attempts, keep the faith and then, the last step, which is totally optional, identify three people who will support your vision and share your declaration with them. This research shows and I think there's some done by Nathaniel Braden, who's a pioneer in psychology of self-esteem shows that verbally declaring our intentions, while in a state of emotional alignment, significantly increases our commitment and follow-through. So by speaking our possibilities out loud to supportive others, we create a powerful accountability mechanism, powerful accountability mechanism that neurologically reinforces our commitment. I mean, isn't this just the good stuff? I just love for you to try it. Try it, align your spoken words with your deepest beliefs. How do you want this thing to go? You have free will you get to choose? So speak, believe, become, speak, believe, become.
