We’ve been there. We are you. Three years ago, co-host Laura King was at the peak of her career as an Executive Recruiter. On paper, she had it all. Awards, accolades, and a healthy bank account. But each night, she’d come home feeling slightly off, a bit disconnected, and wondering, "Is this it?"
In 2023, it all came crashing down with a triple diagnosis - severe anxiety, ADHD, and sleep issues. Her body was screaming what her heart had been whispering for years. There was another path. There was another way of being.
Co-host Mondo experienced a similar calling. Three years ago, he was living what many would consider the dream — a successful startup founder with a six-figure lifestyle. Then, his heart called him to something radical: surrendering 99% of his material possessions to pursue a completely different path.
What Laura and Mondo both discovered through deep conversations, healing, tears, breakthroughs, and countless moments of growth was that we were being called to our unique sliver of Heaven on Earth — what we now call, Heavenly Human.

Beyond the Billion-Dollar Flag

You know, this entire podcast sits on the shoulders of pause and pivot, pause and pivot, pause and pivot. And in the last episode, I highlighted a moment where I needed to pause and ask God, like clearly, like hey, I believe that I am going in the right direction, but just in case, and so let's take a listen, me and you which I sent you the audio message the other day I was just like I just talked to God. We were just sitting and I was just like all right, god, I, literally this is what I said I was like I was like God, I feel like I'm called to talk to you because I don't out loud as much as I probably should. And I was, like I always say, I felt like I've been on heaven, on Earth's porch, right, like to convince myself that everything is working out the way that it's supposed to work out, like I've made these words work for me. But I was like, just in case Words work for me. But I was like, just in case I'm confused or I'm misled, please align me. So I am following your will. And then, in Jesus name, amen. Reason why I highlighted that is because this muscle, this pause and pivot muscle, is not something that you just do once and then you're good. Right, it is a way of life, it is a way of being if you choose to walk that walk, and so I akin it to honestly like Jedi life. Right, like yesterday was May 4th. Uh, for those who care, may the fourth be with you. Uh, for some people that resonates. Others they're like what are you talking about? Which is cool, because growing up, I was not a star Wars fan boy, but in recent years, I've come to appreciate Jedi life a bit more.
Speaker 1:Yes, and in my past life, I used to always envision billionaire lifestyle, meaning I have all the money and access to go, do whatever I want whenever I want. And so I would wake up and I would literally just think where in the world do I want to go, or who do I want to give to, or what do I want to buy? I get to do what I want to do whenever, wherever. That was like the path that I was on and, without a doubt, I felt like I was going to live that lifestyle, I was going to be blessed with those type of resources. That is a way of life, and many people aspire to live that life. No judgment, however, as I was on that path, I was like, yeah, it seems like I would eventually get bored with that life, though, right like after you have all the stuff, then what? After you've been to all the places, then what? And so, just intuitively, I wanted to live a different kind of life, but I didn't know what that looked like.
Speaker 1:So I had to pause and pivot, and so one of the things that I've discovered, tying it to Jedi, is living in that present moment, not thinking about the future, not thinking about the past, just being present and discerning over and over and over God. Am I following your will? Your kingdom come your will. Heavenly life on earth? No-transcript.
Speaker 1:And intuitively, I feel like God is going to bless the humans in a unique way that others aren't going to be able to see, if they choose to walk that heavenly path. And, like I know, there are so many people who have lived a divine Christian life and they've been on the right track way longer than I have Right, and they are blessed in a way that is different than how I am being blessed right now. But, like the way that my imagination works, is God is going to consistently blow my mind? Is God is going to consistently blow my mind. Therefore, others who may have had that billionaire outlook and choose to like, pivot away from that plan and follow God's divine plan, is going to have some unique value as well. Like it's a certain gift, it's like a trade-off, it's like, oh, instead of pursuing this billion dollars and that being your gift, follow me as in Jesus, and I'm going to give you a new gift, a different gift, and that gift is going to be even more valuable than your billion dollar lifestyle, and that gift is going to be even more valuable than your billion dollar lifestyle. And so I just choose to believe that.
Speaker 1:But the reason why I'm bringing that up is because I consistently have to pause and potentially pivot, because God's like, it's impossible, mondo, for you to anticipate my plan. You just can't do it. I'm always going to have the future version of you sitting in a blind spot. You can't see it. You can try to predict as much as you want, but you cannot see it. That's the lifestyle that you chose. That's the lifestyle that you chose Because in my past life, I had that billion dollar flag and no matter where I was at, I was able to see that billion dollar flag over the horizon and so, no matter what I was like, going in the direction of that billion dollar flag and I said to God, I don't want that lifestyle, meaning the billion dollar flag lifestyle.
Speaker 1:And because of that, god is like oh okay, well, I'm going to completely remove all the flags. And now you have to be a student, you have to be a Padawan, you have to be a student, you have to be a Padawan, you have to listen for my guidance, you have to be guided by the force every single step. And so there's never a day off, because every moment of every day, my eyes are peeled, my ears are keenly open, trying to see or trying to hear what God is asking me to do in that moment. And I believe that lived experience is adventurous. It is the thing that is never going to get dull, because predictability is removed from the equation. The one thing that I have faith in is your kingdom come, your will be done on Earth as it is in heaven. But because in my imagination, heaven is dope, it's epic, and bringing that heaven to Earth means it's going to be dope and epic. Here I'm optimistic that these steps that I'm taking is going to lead to something amazing.
Speaker 1:Yes, and my question to you is Whatever path you're on right now, the outcome that you are trying to attain is it actually the path that you're supposed to be pursuing Right Like when I asked that question?
Speaker 1:Is your spirit excited? Are you like, absolutely without a shadow of a doubt, I know I'm going in the right direction. If so, keep pushing. But there are others who are listening to this and they're like meh, I don't know, mondo, let me think about it. Pause, literally out loud, ask God to reveal a different path that is going to fill your spirit Caveat. If you do ask out loud, god will offer that pathway to you, but it might look a little scary, it might be off putting, you might be like what this way right, and that's God challenging you to step into your faith and go in a direction that you would have never went on If you would not have asked that question out loud. And then that becomes the pause and pivot moment that completely changes the trajectory of your life. So, for those of you who are guided to this podcast today, pause, ask God for that revelation out loud, in Jesus name, and then pivot, amen.
