Heavenly Human
Welcome to the Heavenly Human podcast where we help you pause and pivot toward true fulfillment.
Have you ever felt that stirring deep inside — that quiet voice telling you there's something more for your life? That feeling that despite all your success, something still feels missing?
We’ve been there. We are you. Three years ago, co-host Laura King was at the peak of her career as an Executive Recruiter. On paper, she had it all. Awards, accolades, and a healthy bank account. But each night, she’d come home feeling slightly off, a bit disconnected, and wondering, "Is this it?"
In 2023, it all came crashing down with a triple diagnosis - severe anxiety, ADHD, and sleep issues. Her body was screaming what her heart had been whispering for years. There was another path. There was another way of being.
Co-host Mondo experienced a similar calling. Three years ago, he was living what many would consider the dream — a successful startup founder with a six-figure lifestyle. Then, his heart called him to something radical: surrendering 99% of his material possessions to pursue a completely different path.
What Laura and Mondo both discovered through deep conversations, healing, tears, breakthroughs, and countless moments of growth was that we were being called to our unique sliver of Heaven on Earth — what we now call, Heavenly Human.
We've now joined forces to create this podcast, sharing what we've learned with other believers who feel that same nudge toward something more meaningful. We're here to guide you toward fulfillment through the embodiment of heaven on earth.
Peace, Love, Joy, Freedom, Abundance.
It’s all waiting for you.
"Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."

Burnout is the price of ambition
Burnout has become the accepted collateral damage on the road to success, but what if everything we've been taught about ambition and achievement is fundamentally flawed? This eye-opening episode challenges the dangerous myth that exhaustion is the inevitable price of ambition.

Hey, it's Laura. Welcome to this week's Peak of the Week. We are diving into this myth busting series, and the myth that we're tackling this week is all related to burnout, and this one is burnout is the price of ambition. Okay, this is a lie. This is a lie about burnout that's keeping you stuck. So I want to give you a little context. Last week I was talking to a client who said something a little eye-opening. Okay, so it was something like Laura. I know I should be grateful. I've worked so hard to get here.
Speaker 1:Everyone says this is just what success costs VP, fortune 500 company like major perks, amazing, amazing six figure salary, like the whole package. And she is completely exhausted, like not the good kind of tired that you feel after a challenging workout or a meaningful project, like the bone deep, wake up tired. Can't remember the last time you felt excited about anything kind of exhausted. I can describe that because I've been there. Anyone else like raising their hand, like, oh yeah, bone deep, wake up tired. Can't remember the last time you felt excited about anything. Yeah, not a fun place to be right. So when I asked what she thought was causing it, she said well, like well, burnout is just the price of ambition, right? Burnout is just the price of ambition, right? If I want to keep climbing, this is what it takes. Oh my gosh.
Speaker 1:This is when I knew we had to talk about the biggest lie high achievers tell themselves. No, this is the myth that's stealing your energy and therefore your life force. We've been told that burnout is the price of ambition. If you're not exhausted, you're not working hard enough, if you're not sacrificing your health I mean insert your health or your relationships or your peace of mind you must not want success bad enough or badly enough. This myth has created an entire generation of high performers who confuse exhaustion with excellence. We wear our burnout like a badge of honor. We compete over who gets less sleep. We justify the cost by pointing to our achievements. But here's what I've learned. But here's what I've learned. I mean, I've fought like 5,000 plus conversations a year with people with lots and lots of people.
Speaker 1:Burnout, everyone burnout. Listen is not the price of ambition. It's a signal that you are out of alignment. This is what burnout is really telling you. Think about it when was the last time you felt genuinely energized by your work? Not that like adrenaline rush of a deadline or the temporary high of recognition, but a steady, sustainable energy that comes from doing something that fits who you are. If you can't remember, that's not because you're not tough enough. No, it's because you're trying to succeed in a way that doesn't match something that your inner truth is trying to tell you. When you're out of balance, when you're out of alignment, when something doesn't feel good, that's like your body. This is not an alignment. Think about it. When you're aligned with who you really are and what genuinely matters to you, work doesn't drain you the same way. You get tired. Yeah, you get tired, that's normal, but you don't wake up dreading your days or wondering is this all there is? Burnout happens when there's a disconnect between your external achievements and your internal wisdom, when you're performing a version of success instead of living your authentic one. You know the difference, the real path to sustainable sustainable, yes, I said sustainable.
Speaker 1:I've watched thousands and thousands of high achievers make a simple but profound shift, and I'm telling you from experience, because this was my reality. I was on the hamster wheel of more and more and more and more and more and more. At what cost it? What cost more? What cost it? What cost it? What cost it? What cost it? What Was it ever going to end? No, I had to ask different questions Instead of pushing harder when I felt depleted. Hmm, maybe the question is what if this exhaustion is information, not weakness? Like information, information telling you this is really not the way you want to live? Like what would sustainable success actually look like for me? Or how can I achieve my goals in a way that energizes me rather than depletes me?
Speaker 1:Sustainable success is not about having superhuman endurance, like, think about that. It's not about having superhuman endurance. It's creating alignment in all the areas. Alignment in all the areas and whatever came to you, as I said, that, that is yours, that is your area, that is where you go first. Other areas will rise when you address this one first, will rise when you address this one first. It's not about superhuman endurance. It's creating alignment between who you are and how you work. When you're aligned, you will still work hard. You will still have ambitious goals, but you approach them from a place of this feels like me, rather than oh my God, I have to perform, I have to perform, I have to perform. I have to perform Like your energy becomes renewable instead of finite. So ready to test this for yourself. This is your micro move for this week. This is your micro move. Okay, pick one area of work where you feel most strained Instead of pushing through it or trying harder.
Speaker 1:Ask yourself what would this look like if I approached it from my authentic self instead of my performing self? Maybe this means having a different kind of conversation with your team or your boss or your colleague or someone else. Maybe it means restructuring a project to play to your actual strengths. Maybe someone else on the team wants to do another part of it. Or maybe you just have a conversation with someone because you're genuinely curious about how they do their job and what they like and what they don't like, and if the two of you work together, you could really help each other out. That requires communication. That requires stepping outside your comfort zone. That requires being open and vulnerable. Open and vulnerable. Try one small experiment this week. What would this look like if I approach it from my authentic self instead of my performing self? Try it. See what shifts when you stop confusing exhaustion with excellence.
Speaker 1:What I've learned from every high achiever I've ever worked with who has made this transition you don't need to choose between success and well-being. You do not have to sacrifice your health for your career or your authenticity for your achievements, but you do. You do need to stop believing that burnout is the inevitable cost of ambition. Your exhaustion is not proof that you're not working hard enough. It's proof you're working out of alignment. And the good news, once you recognize that everything can change Everything. So, if this spoke to you today, I mean like I, if you want support book, an activation call, book an activation call In one hour. We work through this together and I just want you to know, like if this resonates with you, you are not alone. This is a common pattern.
Speaker 1:So many high achievers are discovering there's a different way to succeed, one that actually feels good on the inside. We are figuring this out together, one authentic step at a time. We are pioneering new ways of being in this world, because the old way it's not working. It's not working. It's not working. And why would we do something over and over and over and over and over? That's not working? Nope, new decision, new direction. Something needs to give, something needs to change.
Speaker 1:Okay, well, if you're like rising to the occasion and you're like, yes, go to lauraekingcom. Seriously, book an activation call with me. I am dead serious. Like you are being called into a new level, like, if you are still here, you are being called to a new level. The old ways are not going to work, so you need new strategies. And guess what? It's so much simpler. It's so much simpler and there's so many more people who are living this way and working this way and so willing to share because they want you to feel as good as they do. So smile, smile because you're like yep, I'm on my way. Yep, that sounds better, laura.
Speaker 1:I would like that, please, laura. I would like that, please. More freedom, more joy, more abundance, more well-being, more rich relationships. I mean, isn't that why we came here? To do that, versus spend time just performing and performing, and performing, and performing, and performing. I don't know that. Just that doesn't appeal to me anymore. But I was in it. Like I was so trapped in it I couldn't see a way out. And now I'm like I'm out of it and if you're being called to understand what's next for you, like you got to listen and you have that inner wisdom within you. So that's what I do for others. I don't have the magic potion and I'm not going to be the all-knowing, I activate it in you your inner wisdom. Your inner wisdom that knows the exact, easiest path for you. So if you're tired of banging your head against the wall, so if you're tired of banging your head against the wall, the helpers are here. If it's not me, there's so many other helpers, so many other helpers, and we just want you to find your way back home.
