Spoiler Warning And Quick Synopsis

SPEAKER_00

Right. Click it or tick it, right? All right, let's dive right in. Today we're going to be reviewing episode number three of season four of The Way Home, and it is called Dust in the Wind.

unknown

Dust.

SPEAKER_00

Although I don't think we heard the did we hear the song during the episode at all?

SPEAKER_01

No. No, we didn't. Not at all.

SPEAKER_00

We heard another song, but not that one. Right. It originally aired on the Hallmark channel on Sunday, May 3rd, 2026. And you can catch up with The Way Home right now on Hallmark Plus or previous seasons on Netflix also.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, you can. And we should recommend it. Not the current season.

SPEAKER_00

The current season is not on Netflix yet.

SPEAKER_02

No. But go watch it, go binge. Yes. It's fun. It's very fun. Well, this episode was directed by Michelle Latterman and written by Marley Reed.

SPEAKER_00

I think that's Latimer.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sorry, Latimer. I said Latterman.

SPEAKER_00

That's all right.

SPEAKER_02

That's okay.

SPEAKER_00

We want to get her name correct. Latimer. Michelle Latimer is the director. I apologize.

SPEAKER_02

And written by Marley Reed. There you go.

SPEAKER_00

There you go.

SPEAKER_02

All right. So let's go ahead and drop the synops. Let's dive right into this.

SPEAKER_00

Kat and Elliot plan a romantic getaway while Alice tries to get more clues. Meanwhile, Del and Sam get a surprise visit from Elliot's father, Vic.

SPEAKER_02

Hmm. Was it a surprise, right? Victor. And we're at that part in the podcast where if you haven't seen the episode yet, we're going to drop some spoilers. So if you haven't watched it, pause us, go watch it, come back, let us know what you think.

SPEAKER_00

We're going to drop all the spoilers because this is like a recap and review.

SPEAKER_02

Man, it's it's so hard not to, right?

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh, yeah. So I I don't even know how you would discuss it. I mean, I guess you could not spill some things, but it would be hard.

SPEAKER_02

Very hard.

SPEAKER_00

Because you're trying to decode all the messages that are in each episode.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I mean, it is just so hard, and everybody's got theories, and so there you go. All right.

SPEAKER_00

All right.

SPEAKER_02

So where did we leave off?

SPEAKER_00

Where did we leave off? Well, at the end of episode number two, we have um, you may need to help me here. Alice.

SPEAKER_02

Alice and Cole.

SPEAKER_00

With Cole, right? And then motorcycle drives by them, and we realize that it is Griffin that has returned to town, but we don't see him yet.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Del is sitting at the table with Kat and Elliot, and she is ready to tell Elliot everything she knows.

SPEAKER_02

She is gonna pour the tea, man.

SPEAKER_00

She's she is going, she's not gonna spill it, she's gonna pour it.

SPEAKER_02

That's right.

SPEAKER_00

She is going to dump it. Um, what else did we learn? Evelyn is pregnant.

SPEAKER_02

Evelyn is pregnant, and Alice found a bullet casing in the tunnels underneath the mansion.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Great Grayson Mansion.

Griffin Returns And Alice Runs

SPEAKER_00

So I think that's about where we are, without going over everything. That's where we were at the very end of the last episode. So this one starts right off with um with Cole.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

They call him Cole. I guess I missed it. They call him Cole, but it's Cole is Colton is his name, but they call him Cole. So he and Alice go back to the Landry farm. They are on a road when the motorcycle zips by them. They go back to the Landry farm and Griffin comes out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Griffin comes out to greet him.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And he's like, hey, I'm home. Is everybody happy to see me? He's all right.

SPEAKER_02

We're picking up where we left off.

SPEAKER_00

And Cole is annoyed because he's missed his graduation, he missed his wedding, he's missed events. Right. And then you have Fern that comes out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Cole and Griffin's grandma, and she sees Alex and Alice, not Alice, sorry. Yeah. And doesn't she say something like I know you or no?

SPEAKER_02

She says, long time no C. And then I think Oh, right.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Cole Cole says something like, You've known her. She and she goes, We go way back, or something like that. And it was kind of funny how she did it. It was kind of funny. She was like, From this morning.

SPEAKER_00

From this morning. And Alice is like, Who knows she thought she was going to get No McCoy?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And then she's like, now you've met both of my grandsons.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Right.

SPEAKER_00

And then what's interesting for that scene though is the so they all go in the house. Alice Alice has to leave. And she takes off running. And Griffin comes back outside and he sees her running. Right. So there's going to be something more to that story.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I I feel like obviously he's a tr time traveler. Time traveler. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

He's which could explain his absences. Duh.

SPEAKER_02

Uh. Right. And nobody can find him.

SPEAKER_00

Duh. Okay. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

And so the then we move on to um, so what's interesting is like you said, Elliot and uh Kat and and Dell, Del's getting ready to tell them what was going on when Alice comes walking in and she hears them talking about Griffin and she's like, whoa, well, wait a minute. I just saw him.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And they were like, What? Yeah, like in 1976. I saw him. And I think I should go back, right? Because she wants to go back and find out what's going on with him. Because they're trying to find Elliot's mom, Tessa, which they seem to be struggling with.

SPEAKER_00

They can't find her. But Alice does go back. She sees um Evelyn, Colton, and Del, and Evelyn has had her baby.

SPEAKER_02

It's two years later, so now we're 78. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Right, 1978. And Fern comes up to Alice watching, who is watching Del, Cole, and Evie. They call her Evie, right? For short. And um what does Fern? She just tells her she's been gone too long.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Because she's like, it's now 1978. And Griffin, because I think Alice asks her about Griffin. About Griffin. Right. And she's like, You've been gone too long. Griffin is no longer here. So Alice originally thought she was supposed to find out more about Griffin, but he is not there anymore.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

And she kind of and Fern kind of says he's been gone just as long as you have. So they kind of disappeared at the same time.

Bullet Casing And Fresh Mysteries

SPEAKER_00

At the same time. So that's interesting. Makes you think, doesn't it? So then we flash forward back to the present day, and Kat sees the bullet casing in Alice's room. And we did forget to mention that also in episode two, Kat has realized that Fern was engaged to a Goodwin. Right. And Alice is like, Oh, I found it in the tunnel, you know. Right. Where'd you get this? And she's like, Oh, it was in the tunnels. And then there's something that triggers with Kat.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Right? Because she's like, that's a bullet case. Now Alice didn't know that was a bullet casing. I guess maybe you wouldn't know, but if you've never seen one, you wouldn't know.

SPEAKER_02

So I guess not. If she's not into guns or anything like that. So I could understand that.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

The question is, what time period is that thing from?

SPEAKER_00

That's a very interesting question. And somebody who knows guns and bullets would know when that type of bullet was made. Right. Right.

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

They'd be able to tell.

Sam Knows The Pond

SPEAKER_02

And then we move on to where Sam and Dell are having this casual horseback ride. And they come across the path. I guess it's the path to the pond, which has that big boulder in front of it. And that's where, you know, Alice buried her time capsule. And the horse kind of freaks out. So that's interesting, right?

SPEAKER_00

And that's also where the suitcase was.

SPEAKER_02

And that's what the suit is. Yeah, it was buried.

SPEAKER_00

That was Tessa's suitcase that was buried in that same spot.

SPEAKER_02

Right. And so the horse is kind of shaken, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

And that that that was interesting because there must be some kind of something is emanating from that area, right?

SPEAKER_00

Well, animals know.

SPEAKER_02

Animals know.

SPEAKER_00

Animals have that sense about them. And so there's something about the horse, there's something about that area.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, we have a dog, and when she all of a sudden sits up and starts looking around, I'm not gonna lie.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, we we swear she looks into our dining room like there's a party going on with ghosts or something.

SPEAKER_00

It might be haunted mansion stuff going on in our dining room.

SPEAKER_02

You know, and we got some video of it, and it's so weird because she'll just snap right up and she'll sniff and sniff, and then she'll just start doing like this, and it's like, okay. Yes.

SPEAKER_00

We we might need what what do you call it? Um, ghost hunters or yeah, what what do you call it? That uh EVP Yeah, the EVP.

SPEAKER_02

We need to have some kind of voice phenomenon.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we think we need to have that done in our house because she does that a lot. But it freaks you out. So animals have a sixth sense, I believe.

SPEAKER_02

I believe too.

SPEAKER_00

About stuff like that.

SPEAKER_02

But we also find in the out in the scene that Sam knows about the pond, and he tells Dell that.

SPEAKER_00

So Oh, what does he say to Dell?

SPEAKER_02

I think maybe I He says something about uh that leads down to the pond, and she's like, Well, how do you know about the pond? And he's like, Oh, you know.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I'm I mean, I know we know he knows. Right. He knows from previous scenes, but I didn't realize I I guess I missed that when he mentioned it to Dell.

SPEAKER_02

Oh now his cards are on the table, right?

SPEAKER_00

So who is Sam?

SPEAKER_02

That is gonna be Do you think he's Griffin? I mean, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I don't think so.

SPEAKER_02

Or do you think he time travels?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I think he's time traveled, but I don't know who he is.

SPEAKER_02

This is so good.

SPEAKER_00

This is I thought we had a guess last time, but I can't remember. But yeah, maybe Griffin, maybe not. I don't know. Maybe Sam is Griffin. I mean, but wouldn't Dell would he come back as somebody else? You know, like uh wouldn't Dell recognize him?

SPEAKER_02

Like I just don't know because remember when Elliot's friend, I don't know if it was from college or whatever. Remember when he came back and he didn't recognize Alice?

SPEAKER_00

Elliot's friend.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, this was back in the second season? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, and he didn't recognize and he didn't recognize Alice at all, even though she was still kind of the same age. Because they were teenagers back then and and they kind of had a little thing going, but yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you mean okay, okay, I got you. You're right, you're right. Okay, well, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

But that one I could almost understand because well, yeah, I don't know. My brain is working on overload right now. I yeah, you I'm not sure.

Alice Noah Max And Long Distance Doubts

SPEAKER_02

All right. So then we move on to Max, Alice, and Noah. They're at, I think, is it uh Noah's food truck?

SPEAKER_00

They're at a food truck, yeah. I don't know if it's Noah's or not, maybe.

SPEAKER_02

And he's telling them that his grandfather wants him to come work in in the you know, opening up a restaurant, and you know, Noah and Alice are dating, but Max is kind of he's got a thing for he's got a little crush on Alice.

SPEAKER_00

Even though they're best friend best friends.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

And if you've ever seen when Harry met Sally, you know that males and females cannot be best friends, can they? Yeah, unless well, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so so that was kind of an interesting scene. I think Max is kind of happy that Noah might be out of the picture, so he might be able to move in there because we kind of we don't know who Noah is either.

SPEAKER_00

We kind of, but maybe not now. I'm leaning more towards he's just a kid in the town, right? Like maybe there's nothing else to him. But I was kind of suspicious of him for a minute last season, but I I don't know now.

unknown

Right.

SPEAKER_00

I'm all confused. I'm all confused, I'm all confused, but now that kind of leaves an opening for Max. Right. Right. And what I found that scene, so then Noah kind of leaves, and Max and Alice have ridden together and they get in the car, and Alice is kind of like, she asks Max, like, tell me your thoughts, like, what do you think about all that? And then Max tells her, and then she's mad because Max has a certain opinion.

SPEAKER_02

Well, he has he has an honest opinion, right?

SPEAKER_00

Right, right. But then she kind of gets upset a little bit, and I'm like, You asked him. But that is that's how we roll. Sometimes I want your opinion, but I don't want you to tell me what I don't want to hear. Right.

SPEAKER_02

I want you to tell me what I want to hear.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I just thought I chuckled at that a little bit because she was like, tell me, and then he tells her, and she's like, Right. I don't like that answer.

SPEAKER_02

So that's so funny, so funny.

SPEAKER_00

Well, then we go on to then we have a scene where Kat is in the newspaper office and she's remembering things about Fern.

Cabin Getaway And Baby Talk

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Right, uh being in that office when Fern was in there and kind of flitting around, you know, showing her the office. And then Elliot shows up and he wants to take Kat away. They need to get away. His boss has a cabin, right? Or a co-worker's boss or whatever has a cabin somewhere and it's the perfect getaway because he really wants to propose to her. He's got the ring, he's ready, and the moment is not, you know. Yeah. So um, so he wants to take her away.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he does. And I thought that was interesting because that's kind of cool. I was waiting for her to pull the little, you know, bed down from the wall.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Like back in the back.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, yeah, like Fern did. Yeah. In the office, in the afternoon. Because Fern was living there. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But then, you know, Max, and this is the thing with long distance relationships, right? Right. Max is uh uh is telling this is Alice getting upset that they usually don't work out. And right.

SPEAKER_00

And I don't know. That's what she gets upset about a little bit.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so that that was an interesting scene. And then we have when Victor comes back. Victor shows up. He's mad. He's like, What in the world are you telling my son?

SPEAKER_00

My son, why is he asking me questions? So he shows up and he kind of confronts Dell and Sam.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

At he shows up at the Landry Farm, right? That's where he is. And then they kind of, you know, when we do these recaps, sometimes like last time we talked about the different time periods, but this one really went back and forth a lot.

SPEAKER_01

It sure did.

SPEAKER_00

To different scenes, and yeah. So then you have Alice, she jumps back to she goes back to 1978. Right. And uh Evie is upset because she's been gone so long. Because you know, in the meantime, Evie's had a baby, the baby's now two years old. Oh my gosh. She's like, You've been gone so long. So she's a little bit upset, and then we go back to the future right with Victor.

SPEAKER_02

I was getting dizzy.

SPEAKER_00

And I know, and so he's he's really upset. Like you said, that Elliot has now been calling him and asking him all kinds of questions about his mom. Tessa.

SPEAKER_02

And this is when she tells Victor, Dell tells Victor about the picture, and that the theory is that Griffin and her left together.

SPEAKER_00

She believes that.

SPEAKER_02

She believes that. No one really knows. This is just a a theory that Griffin and her left together.

SPEAKER_00

Well, she yeah, and she says Tessa fell in love with Griffin and then they jumped.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And then now we go into the cabin where Elliot takes Kat. And that was kind of a fun scene.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You know, Elliot's being a manly man, you know, he's trying to start a fire, but he forgets to open the, you know, the little flute or whatever it's called.

SPEAKER_00

The little, yeah. You know, so it's all smoky. And I like when they walk in because it's a it's a typical cabin that has like the fish on the wall. She's like, it was kind of funny because Kat's like so many fish. You know, there's like fish all around, and yeah, they kind of um you know joke about it a little bit. I guess we could stay with the cabin. Yeah, yeah. With so Elliot tries to start the fire, he it's all smoky, so they go for a hike.

SPEAKER_02

Well, let's talk about the book that Kat gets before the smoky fire. Uh oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So his Well, he's trying to start the fire and she starts reading this book, right?

SPEAKER_02

And his friend that he's in the cat, you know, who said he could use the cabin, he's a historian, he likes history, and he has a book of of the town, right? And she kind of opens it up to where Grayson had there's a picture of uh Grayson, and I thought it was interesting because he had a gun, he had it hostered, and I was trying to figure out who else was in it, and the only thing I could see was Rory Ashford, so I don't know if that's the guy that was doing the filming there. Right.

SPEAKER_00

We don't know who that was, right?

SPEAKER_02

We could only see one of the names because we paused it, we went back, we're trying to investigate but Kat does take a picture of it, so this that's obviously coming back at some point, right?

SPEAKER_00

The whole grayson of it all and what he was doing and who he was doing business with, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think so. And then that's when it gets smoky and they end up going outside.

SPEAKER_00

And they go for a hike, and um, you know, he gets out the ring at one point because he's gonna do it, and then he puts it back in his pocket, and then he starts to talk to Kat because I think that's when he's gonna do it, and he says, you know, he really wants them to have a kid of their own. And Kat is really surprised, you know, it kind of takes catches her off guard, right? And um, you know, she's not sure how to respond to it, and so then he's a little upset that she was so surprised and not really like, yes, let's have another baby, you know, because because she's basically like, you know, Alice is getting ready to go off to college, and there's just so much change right now, right? And so he basically just, you know, the ring gets put back, and then they start, they get they haven't had a signal the whole time they're in the mountains at this cabin, and then their signal comes back while they're talking about this, and they each have like 20 messages, right?

SPEAKER_02

Right.

1978 Night Out And Tessa Appears

SPEAKER_00

Call me, call me, where are you? Talk to me, and then they realize that his father has returned home. Right. And in the meantime, we had a flashback to Alice to 1978. You know, Evelyn really wants to go out on the town because she, you know, her mom's gonna babysit the baby, she's ready to whoop it up, and her and Alice go to Coils, and Alice thinks there's something that Evie isn't telling her. Right. Do they pronounce it Evie or Evie? I keep going back and forth.

SPEAKER_02

I think it's Evie, but I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

You know, and basically Evelyn, yeah, Evelyn says that she wanted to prove to Alice that she's not some boring old mom. Right. Then a waitress walks up, and who is it?

SPEAKER_02

It's Tessa. We finally meet Tessa.

SPEAKER_00

We finally see Tessa in 78. In 1980, she's working for coils. Yes. And she says to Alice, you know, what does she say? Don't don't know where you're going. Any road will get you there.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if you don't know where you're going, any road would get you there.

SPEAKER_00

It would get you there. And Alice realizes it's a quote, knows that it's a quote from Alice in Wonderland. So Alice recognizes that. And then she's like, Alice in Wonderland, and Tessa basically is like, it's fitting, giving given your name.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

And then she says, I know a fellow wayward soul when I see one. Yes. And then Alice is really like, What so we're trying to figure out. We know now, you know, you're trying to figure out the whole time travel thing, and she knows Alice. Has she seen Alice in a different time period? I don't I don't know. I thought that that was a little crazy and interesting. And then Cole walks in and says that Dell is is not feeling well.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Which is interesting. So what's going on there, right?

SPEAKER_00

Well, you find out later.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I think um I mean, in this episode, you find out that she lost another they were trying to get pregnant and she had a miscarriage again. That's why she wasn't feeling well.

SPEAKER_02

And I'm starting to wonder what's going on. Is Elliot? I don't know. I don't know. Theories, theories, theories. Anyhow. And this is when, as they're leaving calls, um Alice kind of turns around and sees Tessa taking money from the the the register, right? And she kind of does the, you know, puts her finger up to her mouth, like she's like, shh, quiet, you know. So what's going on there? Is she trying to buy her way back to wherever she came from? Or do you think she's gonna use that money for something else?

SPEAKER_00

I don't have any idea. I don't know. She's yeah, I that's a very good question. I'm sure there's some reason why she's doing it. She's not just some petty thief.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Right.

SPEAKER_00

Um, there's always more to the story, but I don't know why. But you know what's interesting because we're this is a total aside.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We've been watching a reality show called The Secret Wives and Wormen Wives, and they do the shh thing, and that's what I thought of.

SPEAKER_02

That's the first thing he thought of, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

In the beginning, it just reminded me of that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and you said that as soon as he did it. That was kind of funny.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, it was funny.

Victor Dinner And Old Wounds

SPEAKER_02

So so then we go back and um Dell invites Victor over for dinner and with Sam and apologizes to him by the way that she acted. And I I kind of like this scene because they kind of buried the hatchet, you know. He didn't understand why she was saying these things, but then after talking at dinner, they kind of were like, Oh, okay, you know. So I thought that was a a really interesting uh well.

SPEAKER_00

At what point does Victor do we see him in 1978? Is it before?

SPEAKER_02

So that's that's after that scene.

SPEAKER_00

So so Victor's having dinner with Del and Sam. Like you said, Del's apologizing to him.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Um, Victor says when he looks back, he's focusing on the good times. He's choosing to just focus on that and not um on anything else. And then we go back to coils, right? Right. Then we then we get another scene, and Victor's at the cafe because Tessa says his name, and Alice realizes that that's Victor, that's Elliot's dad. Yeah, and Victor asks Tessa out on a date and she accepts. Right. Right. So I thought that was kind of a cool scene, and you can see he's like this, you know, I don't know, his character kind of like an introvert, yeah. Yeah, yeah, is similar. And then Cole invites Victor in 1978 to go hang out with him, and he's like, No, that's okay. And you can tell, like even back then, he felt like an outcast, even though he was invited in, right? But then he leaves the the diner, and um Alice and Cole and them are still there, so yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And that's the scene where Evelyn leaves because she's got to go pick up her and then Alice asked Cole to let's go sing some songs, and he's like, No, I gotta get back to Dell. You know, they're talking about putting an addition on to start a family, and I thought that was so cool because that's their daughter right there sitting there.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, it's pretty cool, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Or that's their granddaughter sitting there. So I thought that was kind of cool. Um, so then um we got Victor and Dell. Um they're talking at the table and they're talking about how they're the only two left from that time period. Isn't that crazy?

SPEAKER_00

From the picture well, from that, from the four of them, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And I I just felt like a lot of these conversations were genuine. It was really, it was really good, really well written.

SPEAKER_00

And then they cheer, Kat and Elliot walk in. Of course, Elliot's upset, he storms off. I felt like that was the only scene that I was like, you know, Elliot's like, if you want to talk to me, you can you know where to find me. You know, and it's like he almost flips his hair and walks to me.

SPEAKER_02

Bye.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my gosh. So then as it's after that that we get the flashback to Cole and Dell. Yeah, you know, and and she's saying, you know, I, you know, I thought like she's just tired of why she's tired, not tired of trying, but she they don't understand why she keeps having these miscarriages and things. And so then you start to think, is Kat really their biological daughter?

SPEAKER_02

That's what I'm saying. This is this is where I'm starting to, my brain's starting to, oh, wait a minute here, what's going on?

SPEAKER_00

Is Kat really not that she's not their daughter, but you know, I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

We need some more clues, people.

SPEAKER_00

We need some more clues, we need some more clues.

SPEAKER_02

But isn't this where uh Alice had jumped back and she's kind of hidden and listening to that conversation?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I think so. Yes.

SPEAKER_02

So that's that was kind of interesting.

SPEAKER_00

Right. Oh, you're right, you're right. She was kind of outside of um then we get to, you know, Kat and Elliot discuss. We're back in present day, and Kat and Elliot are discussing having a baby, you know, and Kat tells them it's it's not closed, it's just to be continued. Like she like she's not totally put off by that, but you know, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

In that moment, she realized how it must have seemed when she said what she said when he asked when he told her about having a family. So yeah.

Bracelet Clue Sends Kat To 1925

SPEAKER_00

Right, right. So then Victor, of course, goes to talk to Elliot, and Kat has seen something in the picture of Tessa with Elliot as a baby. She sees a bracelet, yep, she realizes it's the same one that Fern was wearing during her audition reel in 1925. So then Kat goes and jumps back to 1925, and Fern is there, and and Kat is kind of confronting her, you know, basically like she knows she knows more than what she's saying. Right. But she moves on. Fern gives Fern is actually there when Kat arrives, and Fern gives her some dry clothes to wear. Right. Right. And then Kat and Fern, we'll just continue on their story. They go back to the speakeasy. Um Fern performs a song, and at the same time, Kat overhears the Augustine brothers, they're gonna they're gonna get rid of someone.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like they're they're gonna take care of someone, they're gonna take care of someone.

unknown

Boom.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and it's very it's very it's very dramatic. It's very dramatic.

SPEAKER_02

Do you want to finish talking about that part or should we go back to Well, let's go back to now we're with Elliot and Victor and they're having a discussion about Tessa. And I thought that was a heartfelt discussion because Victor, even though she left, is still he's still in love with her, and he is you know focusing on the positive things, and and he gives Elliot a letter stating, you know, he tells her she's dead, and he doesn't understand why. But the letter says, 'cause I guess she gave the ring back to. But um I just thought it was interesting. It was a very good, good scene between them two.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and then Elliot shows Victor a picture of him and his mom.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Or him as a baby holding with his mom.

SPEAKER_02

And he didn't uh Victor didn't recognize the photo. So that was kind of interesting too.

SPEAKER_00

And then Victor and Elliot kind of hug.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And then the clock goes off.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And Elliot's like, it it always goes off at 1111. And Victor says, Tessa, you know, Tessa would always say that, and Elliot's like, what? And he said, 1111, make a wish. That's what Tessa was like.

SPEAKER_02

1111, make a wish.

SPEAKER_00

I thought that that was interesting. I thought it was going to be something more dramatic than that.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, what what?

SPEAKER_02

But it's probably going to be. We they just haven't revealed it.

SPEAKER_00

We haven't, yeah. And I looked up like seeing 1111, I looked it up, and it says it's widely interpreted as a powerful spiritual sign of alignment, awakening, and a green light from the universe.

SPEAKER_02

Ooh.

unknown

Okay.

Speakeasy Raid And Kat Gets Drugged

SPEAKER_00

1111. It's not just random. I don't know. I'm just, you know, throwing that out there. I don't know. Anything beyond that. So then if we go back to 1925, right? We have Kat and Fern are at the speakeasy. Fern has already she's already sung one song. And then um what else happens? Cliff. Cliff.

SPEAKER_02

Cliff walks up. Because so they're outside and and Fern and Kat are actually talking about the pond at that point. Right. And Fern things seems to think it's been passed down. Um, but she does know something, and I'm probably pretty sure she's jumped in the future. Well, we're gonna get to the point.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and that's obvious in a little bit. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, so Cliff comes walking up and he lets them know that uh there's gonna be a raid coming right at the speech. So, and that freaks out Alice because she or Kat because she's like, We need to leave. But Fern is like, oh no, we're going back in.

SPEAKER_00

We're going, we're gonna get back in.

SPEAKER_02

I'm a rebel without a cause. We're going.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And then Fern gets them both a drink and set from the bar and she says, drink up, kitty cat, you know, and watches that. And watches Kat drink it. Yeah, it's really cute. And then um And that's when Fern goes to sing again, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, and she's singing Tainted Love, right? And that was interesting because Kat starts to realize, well, wait a minute, how do you know that song wasn't when it hasn't even been written for another 60 years?

SPEAKER_00

Yep, it was released in 1981, and boy, we're 80s.

SPEAKER_02

By who?

SPEAKER_00

We're 70s babies, but we're 80s. Well, you're 60. One of us is 70. So that was um soft cell, soft cell tainted love. And there's no way Fern could know that unless someone sang it to her.

SPEAKER_02

Or or she timed, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

She time traveled, right? And the the lyrics to that song, too. You've really gotta listen. And you know, sometimes I feel I've got to run away, I've got to get away, you know, from the I mean, there's a lot of detail in the lyrics of that particular song, and I'm wondering if that means something to Fern, also.

SPEAKER_02

It's like she was confessing either her life or someone else's life. Like sometimes you just gotta run away.

SPEAKER_00

Right. And so Yeah, go ahead. Yeah, and then Kat, you know, Kat wants to know how she knows it. And Fern basically tells her asking the wrong questions around here will get you killed. Right. And then you can tell this is where Kat starts to get a little bit delirious, and she's kind of like seeing blurred vision, and you realize she was drugged. And I think when we watch Fern in that moment, I think Fern looks surprised.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. I don't think that it was meant for Kate or Kat.

SPEAKER_00

A cat. I think it was meant for Fern.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. That's what I think. I mean, it's a theory, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I don't think it was meant for Kat. Um, because I think we watched, and then I had you, I said, let's play that back because she and you were surprised by that too. You hadn't noticed I said, I think she looks surprised.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because she didn't put it in whatever it was, she didn't put it in the drink.

SPEAKER_00

No. So it must have been.

SPEAKER_02

Well, she could have been working with some, you know, it could have been the Augustine boys. Because maybe Kat had overheard them saying they got to get rid of somebody. So maybe that was.

SPEAKER_00

So who was the dr who was the drink meant for?

SPEAKER_02

Right, right.

SPEAKER_00

Is the question. And I think maybe Fern. But and we also now believe that Fern has not only time traveled, but time traveled to the future, right? Which we thought couldn't happen, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

We thought it was only time travel to the past. Right. So that's an interesting little, you know, there little nugget. So the police come in, Fern throws the cup off, which is kind of she's kind of funny. I love the actress that plays her.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Well, everybody in the speakeasy is hiding their glasses and their tanks and everything, and everybody's like, We're not doing anything, but it's right.

SPEAKER_00

It's and then Cliff Cliff walks over to them and then Kat passes out.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

You know, and then we kind of see Cliff and Fern standing over her, and Fern is like, Kitty Cat, what are we gonna do with you? So I think they're trying to make you suspicious of Fern, but I think that's just Fern reacting to it. Like, oh, I have something like I have something for you.

SPEAKER_02

What if what Fern was undercover for Cliff to see what's going on with the Augustines?

SPEAKER_00

Like they're working together?

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Because remember, when she says something, she's like asking the wrong questions around here will get you killed.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm wondering if she's kind of like, you know, like an undercover, like a um that's the word I can't think of it, like a oh gosh, what do they call it for the police when you're con when they use you just undercover?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Uh yeah. I don't know the technical term for it, but anyways, that was that's just a theory.

SPEAKER_00

So well, we'll see. I mean, maybe they are working together in a positive way. Now I don't think it's gonna be the negative that we think. Right. You know, or that they're trying to allude to. I think I don't think she knew about the drug and the drink, but I think she'll be suspicious now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. And maybe yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think Fern will be because she's you know, smart as a wit, that one.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

Jail Fallout And A New Jump

SPEAKER_00

So we shall see. And then we have so that was a really quite the turn of events. And then we have Alice goes to the pond looking for her mom because of course Kat now has passed out in 1925 and she is in jail.

SPEAKER_02

She wakes up and realizes she's in jail.

SPEAKER_00

She wakes up, she's in jail, she is not going home anytime soon. You know, Dell's trying to call her, Alice is trying to call her, no one can find her. So Alice goes back to the pond, and Max finds her at the pond, and he says, Let's jump in, let's go. Now that makes me suspicious about Max, too.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Because I'm wondering about him. So they both jump in, he pops up first, and you think Kat has now time traveled because it's a moment before she pops up, and then she finally pops up. Now the question is, are they in their where are they? What time period are they in?

SPEAKER_02

Exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Because they were holding hands when they jumped in. So are they in 1970? I please fingers crossed, let him have traveled to 1978 or 81 or something. Yeah. Yeah, because he's gonna be interesting.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, because he kind of said, Let's get in the pond, because he didn't obviously know about it. And so he runs, grabs her hand, and kind of forces her to jump into the pond. So that was an interesting scene, too. So there you have it.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. So we've got lots of things going on. We don't know where Alice and Max are. And there's something up with Sam, we don't know, but Del and Sam have talked to Victor, and you know, I think Victor's just a misunderstood guy. Yeah, he's come back around. He and Elliot are okay, but now there's something about the clock, something about the time, yep, something about Tessa and Fern. So there's a lot of moving parts going on.

SPEAKER_01

A lot of questions on this. Again, yeah.

Favorites Ratings And Final Theories

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So what do you think for for this particular episode? What was your favorite moment of this episode?

SPEAKER_02

My favorite moment.

SPEAKER_00

And it doesn't have to be a big reveal or anything.

SPEAKER_02

No, but my favorite moment is when that whole scene with with Fern and Kat and her singing Tainted Love and then finding out that you know she was drugged, Kat was drugged. Yeah. I just liked how that all unfolded because you're like, oh my God, what's going on here? Is Fern drugging her? You know, I don't know. So that was mine. What was yours?

SPEAKER_00

I agree. Same tainted love. It's gotta be tainted love. Yeah. If you do anything with the 80s related like that music, it's gonna be it. That's my favorite moment. Um, because I do think I do think we got a lot in that scene. We just don't know the answers yet. Right.

SPEAKER_02

So to it.

SPEAKER_00

So, what about character of the week?

SPEAKER_02

I still gotta go with Fern, man. Me, she is killing it. And she's got a really good voice, man. And she plays that character.

SPEAKER_00

She's the most intriguing character to me.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And the way that actress is is playing her. And there are a lot of questions still about her that we have to find out. And I know, and it just, it just, uh, it just when I think about this being the last season, I'm like, oh no. Oh no, I'm hating it.

SPEAKER_01

I'm hating it.

SPEAKER_00

Because I'm like, I'm I'm excited to find things out about these characters, but at the same time, like, uh Yeah, and you want to know if your theories pan out, you know? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's what I'm interested in.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we're gonna find out.

SPEAKER_02

So all right. So out of five jumps, how many would you get? How many jumps would you get?

SPEAKER_00

I would give this one probably a four.

SPEAKER_02

A four?

SPEAKER_00

I thought it was good. Um, I thought it moved the story along a little bit. I didn't think it was like pedal to the metal, which it doesn't always have to be. You know, like the first two episodes, I felt like we just got so much. Yeah, and then this one slowed down a little bit. And I'm, you know, I just felt like, you know, at the beginning it was a lot slower for me. And you know, we watched it twice. And so at the first time I was kind of like, eh, the episode was kind of meh, you know. But then when we watched it again, I got a better appreciation for it. So I'm going four. How many jumps for you?

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna do four and a quarter. Okay. Only because the second half of this really picked up it really picked up, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I agree.

SPEAKER_02

And you found out a lot of things, but it also left you with a lot of questions. So as per usual. Two five for me.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so you're gonna jump but then dip your toe in one time or something.

Wrap Up And Listener Reminders

SPEAKER_02
