Manly just made a statement: Kieran Foran is locked in on a three-year coaching deal through 2029, and the club is leaning all the way into the moment with “Foz Pines Park” on Thursday night. We’re recording online for the first time, we’re both a bit ragged after a huge weekend, but there’s no chance we’re skipping the biggest Sea Eagles news in years. We talk about what a coach fresh out of the modern NRL actually brings, why the mentality feels like it’s shifted fast, and how that kind of culture can become a magnet for players who want to chase a premiership.
Then we get stuck into State of Origin Game 1, starting with the question everyone argued about: was it a red card? We break down the technique, the “accidental contact” debate, and why responsibility still sits with the defender. From there, we look at what New South Wales got wrong early, what they did right late, and why names like Nathan Cleary and Ethan Strange change selection conversations heading into Game 2. We also get into the Ashley Klein talk and whether one referee should handle the whole series.
The back end is pure footy therapy: our Round 13 review (including Manly v Sharks frustration, Dragons stunning the Broncos, and the Tigers-Bulldogs blocked kick call that lit everyone up), plus our Round 14 tips and a big build toward Manly v Rabbitohs. If you’ve got a strong take on the send-off, the charge-down rule, or who you’re tipping this weekend, we want to hear it. Subscribe, share the pod with a mate, leave a review, and reply with your boldest call for Round 14?
Hello and welcome to this week's episode. They've been doing it with data. There's some big news coming out the northern beaches. Let's get stuck in. Not well, not well. And hence why we are online. We are both a bit ragged and run down. But we wanted to get something out because of the big news, because of origin, because of the weekend that's happened. So we thought we'd we'd jump on a on a call, give it a shot. I just realized as as we're as we were setting this up, 53 episodes, and we haven't had to do one online. And this is the first one we've jumped online for. So yeah, a bit different. I love it. Well, it's it's all it's always a good uh test to see if we can actually do things online. You never know. Another COVID could be around the corner, and we've got to get the give the people what they want. Uh opens it up to people coming on as well for you online as well. It's uh exactly, exactly. Um, but yeah, uh, how's how was your weekend? Busy, as you're aware, moved out, moved into a new house. So just currently setting into that, and I think that's what's made me ill like just stress of everything, last minute moving, stuff like that. Um, I think I've done about 50,000 steps over the weekend as well. So feeling a bit run down, but how was your weekend? Yeah, good, good. Help help obviously help with the move. Um, I think my partner's tried to offload pretty much everything that she doesn't want in RF. It's had tables, bed, bed places, but yeah, the full sheep bag. She wants to uh just just Kawara, where we're gonna get all of our stuff from as well, has just got a sale, so that was dangerous to see that message come through. Um but now other than that, good. Um our women's game got rained off this weekend, but we still had a training session on Sunday morning, which is really, really good. Uh shout out to the girls as well. They've um they've found the pod. Uh, I did not I did not make them aware. I thought it would uh it would occur by natural occurrences, and it has. So a few of them have started following, uh catching up with what we're saying. So I've I've I think the reviews are gonna have to start getting a little bit longer uh from when we when we play the games just to keep them happy. But yeah, big shout out to them for jumping on and Forestville Ferrets, women's team for following along. Get everyone following along, get all 15, 18, 19 of them, however many it is. So we will we will we will they'll uh they'll they'll they'll all hop on, but yeah, other than that, pretty pretty good, mate. Well, let's get stuck into it today. Announced Kieran Foran, three-year deal, end of 2029, Fosball in full effect, and they are naming Four Pines Park Foz Pines Park this Thursday. What's the uh immediate reaction to it? 20 25% off tickets as well. I saw you know it's it's getting there, getting a big percent of our membership for that one. I doubt it, but loyalty doesn't pay. No, it does it doesn't, it doesn't still don't get discount for food and drink when we're supposed to, but that is uh that's a that's a different time for a different strongly worded email, I think. Um nah, brilliant. Uh I'm really happy about it. Uh I was watching the little preview of the Hello Sport podcast on the way home with uh the two uh Troyovich brothers, Jake and uh Jake and Tom, and they were mentioning how how big of a difference he's made coming in. Um so new to the modern, so new to the modern game as well. Uh so in a sense of he he was only playing it six months ago, so there's no better way to have a coach who's just left the game itself. Um I think the all the boys are behind him, definitely made a massive difference. And I think there's a good three years sort of set in stone, which hopefully extends to even further. Um, I think if we're doing well, if we're in the sort of top six back-to-back seasons looking to get that premiership, I I think by the end of mid-end of 2027, mid-28, I think there could be a contract extension talks going on. Yeah, and one of the things that um I think it opens up, and NRL Soakbox said this in his little short that he released is what Foz has done in the first what, how many games have you been in charge now? Seven, eight, eight games. He's changed the mentality of the club, and people are now going to be looking at that going, do you know what? I want a bit of that, I want to be involved in whatever's going on there, I want to experience what that is. So, and there's gonna be people that want to come to Manley in order to chase that, chase that premiership. So it's exciting times. Um, I think there's gonna be a ruptuous uh feeling around the ground on on Thursday. I just hope that we we put on a good performance because last Friday wasn't the greatest. No, it wasn't, it wasn't, and uh good job it wasn't raining. I think we were a bit worried about being uh not in not in undercover, and we most certainly weren't. Um the the heavens were would have absolutely drenched us um if we were there. You were fully exposed, fully exposed. It was very frustrating performance. I think the game was there to be taken. Yeah. Um there's a couple of areas. I think the big one of the big turning points was I think fogger these kick into the into the into the into the sharks uh and uh tries tri area uh goal area, and uh Kennedy ended ends up being able to sneak out when we've got that that pressure, they end up getting a penalty for a high tackle. And instead of a goal line dropout, ends up being a penalty 30-40 meters up the field, um, which which sort of kills it. And massive shame. It was there for the taking, but you know what? Not a disheartening performance considering the players that were missing. It was, it was, and we'll touch on it a bit more in a minute. But let's get into uh last Wednesday. Your background is set as state of origin on states where we where we were sitting. Um, biggest talking point, kick it off with was it a red card? Yes. Um, the more the more I've looked at it, and the the more you sit sit back and say, Yes, it is a red card, modern, modern game, straight shoulder to the head. Um, they're talking about the thing that really annoys me is you they talk about accidental head contact. There's nothing accidental about it, right? Pong has put himself in that position. You watch, if you go back, go and watch any NFL safety corner, that is how they fly into tackles, like with zero disregard of their body, pure shoulder, there was no attempt to wrap, there was no technique involved. Ponger himself didn't even need to get involved in in the tackle. Uh yeah, Kohler was going to Kohler knocked the ball on. I think Walker had made a I think it was Walker who made the tackle, had made a brilliant tackle. Ponger didn't need to be involved, but he tried to put a shot on, uh, got it completely wrong. Um, knocks Kohler out and and deserves a red. Take it back to um a couple of weeks ago when the Knights played the rabbit O's. He did exactly the same to Latrell Mitchell. Latrell Mitchell's a lot bigger in stature, like height-wise. So when he hit him, he hit his chest, got run over. Kalen Poymer got run over, trucks. Latrell Mitchell goes over and scores. He's done exactly the same to Kohler, but obviously Kohler's a bit shorter, and just collected his head. And like who, like you say, who cares if it's head-on-head contact? It's forceful, leading with the crown of the head almost, and it deserves to be a send-off. So it's I don't I can't see the contentiousness about it. It's in today's game, it's purely a red card. So you can't touch the head, so yeah, bit of a strange one, but a lot of people saying Queensland were robbed of of the victory, and let's be honest, but after that first 40 40 minutes, I think I think they were. I think New South Wales's middles really let themselves down, uh, the starting middles. I don't think Fenewa Blake or Mitch Barnett really really gave anything. You watched, especially in that um first half, I think Toto and Cola made more meters carrying front from the goal line than the the middle forwards did. You'd see Cola and Toto both excelling forward and driving forward, whereas when Mitch Barnett got the ball, he'd turn his back and they would just get it just get stopped so there was no driving power. And Brian Toto's like got to be uh questionable for game two. The amount of mistakes that he made, he didn't really have an impact on the game. Like, I don't he's gotta be under scrutiny just because of reputation. I think there's better wingers out there that could potentially, or not necessarily better wingers, but more informed wingers. Like, I would take Adam Carr at the moment over, mind you, Adam Carr loves a little drop of the ball as well. So, but I just don't think Brian Toto offered much, and that was an area that cost us. I think three his three mistakes led to three of their tries. And look, what Tedesco did in the last play of the game was absolutely phenomenal, but he knew he knew he knows Sam Walker's ability, knows his ability to kick the ball early, and it's he still wasn't there. Like they saw him out of position and just went bang, see you later through. So I don't know, it's one of those ones that I think New South Wales were massively lucky to escape with a victory. Red card undoubtedly influenced the this the the result, but it was deserved. And look, you can only play what's put in front of you, and yeah, if you get sent off, you get sent off. But a lot of talk about Ashley Klein and um what is he? He's made he's out of seven send-offs in origin, he's had four of them. Do you think he should continue into game two? Um no, I I I think I I could to be honest, I say this without really having any backing with it and no names to say, but there's better refs within the NRL, and I don't understand why one referee gets to ref the whole series. I don't understand the thought process behind that. Um I think you need the way you could get it is the consistency through reading again. But if you look at any three match series, a test series, especially in rugby union, they're never the net, it's never the same ref who's ref in all three games. Um, you'd get a summer hemisphere gef. You get another one, uh blah blah blah. But uh no, I I think it needs to be different referees. Um, I think it shouldn't be just uh it ring fenced to one, um, and other refs should be able to give it get given the given the chance. He's he's too Mike Dean, he's too Mr. All About Me, in my opinion. Needs to make it all about him. Um so I think other refs need to be given a chance to be honest. I agree. Um, I did say it half time, I I did say it just before half time. I was like, are we about to see the greatest ever comeback in Origin? And I got shunned by by a couple of people. Um rightly so at the time as well. Yeah, and I called it, I called it. But yeah, one person that did have it did have a great game, like there's been clouds over his performance. Nathan Cleary, his 40-20 just before his trial was phenomenal, and he just marshaled the troops well when they needed. Look, he he I don't think he got enough accolades for the bomb that he put up for Tedesco either. Yeah, it was perfect, it was on the goal line. Um, it was high, it got uh the hammer thinking about what he needed to do, and it gave Tedesco time to get up and under. Well, that was the thing, is it the aerial presence of Quees had disappeared with Ponga going off? There were so many kicks leading up to that where there was knock ons, where there was where there was drops, and it was just that pressure building. Clear he turned up in the last, I'd say, 20, 15 to 15 minutes after the Ponga send-off. Really, he he then took the game by the scruff of the neck, had a very quiet first half. Um did uh was it him who put the grubber through for Hoodie Young in the first half? Or was it Ethan Strange? It might have been, I can't remember. I can't remember, but he he didn't really stand. It was a no-look pass, wasn't it? It was the looking other than that, had a quiet first half. He's his defensive kick in wasn't there. It was it was a little bit sort of shallow, but to be fair to him again, going back to the point of you only can only play what's in front of you, he turned up in in that sort of latter period and and does what he does on the big stage. One man though that stood out for absolutely everything, should have had two tries, only got one. Ethan Strange. What a what a super super inclusion for for Moses. Do you reckon he keeps his spot in game one? He needs to. I don't think Moses puts on a performance like that, unfortunately. I think Strange defensively, ah, he's hit on MacCam Munster. He's hit on Munster when Queensland were getting a bit of momentum, was was was an absolute game changer. Um in the in the first half. He he just defensively brilliant. It's like you said last week, he's picking goes, he's playing from the bottom of the rook. I I uh we went through the back of the archives, and I I was his biggest fan like last year for selection. Um and he's and he's come in and cemented it. If taking taking it away from him would be, I don't think there's any there's no warrant for it. Um he he's he's he's cemented that sixth position. Yeah, I think just thinking about it, like when I mentioned about Brian Totter, I think Casey McClain can also play on the wing. He, when he came on, was phenomenal under the high ball. Like there's shouts of him replacing Kohler, but let's be honest, Kohler never got the opportunity to play against 12 men, and he would have absolutely carved it up. But um who was it who said I think it was Gus Gould who said the stat earlier that uh in the second half of games, the last three origin games or four origin games, uh Queensland have scored eight points, and New South Wales have scored 56 in the second half. So they're a second half team. Like I honestly record, and we're preview obviously game two when it comes about, but if New South Wales can start fast, it could be curtains like pretty early because the team could be devastating. I think there's a few changes they have to make in the front. Um, I don't know whether Terrell May is saying too much on social media and his and his podcast are not getting picked, but I definitely think a little bit of power in the front along with Payne Haas would be a lot combination. And Jack and Jackson Ford, how he's not getting picked, I don't know. Yeah, he needs to be in there as well. Um, but one thing I can say about Queensland is they across this could sort of pivot into the women's as well. Both across they just always look solid defensively. I don't know whether it's more New Cat New South Wales look poor in attack and and never have that sort of consistency, or is it Queensland's defence? But they they just never look like conceding at times. Um going down to 12 is completely different, and when you start spreading sideline to sideline, it's really difficult. But that first half defensive performance and even leading up to the red card was uh descending off was was brilliant, and it just it just reminds me of last year as well, where they put in an incredible defensive shift. I think New South Wales need to get a bit more creative in attack uh to help break break that that down that defense. But we'll see how it goes. What is it? Two just over two weeks until game two in Melbourne. Um be an interesting one. But let's get into the review of round 13. We'll start with where we were on Friday night. We were at the Ocean Protect Stadium. Manly walk away 22-28 losers to the Sharks. Um, big news from this one. I was about to mention him previously, but Blake Brayley breaking his arm on Jason Isabel's elbow. It looked like that was a huge loss because in that first half, like he was carving Manly to pieces. And it the disappointing thing was that first half performance almost took me back to the first three games of the season under Seabold. Um lacked creativity, didn't really know what we were doing. Um, and yeah, it was a struggle to watch. Yeah, it wasn't it wasn't great, and I think it just piggybacked off the Titans win, to be honest. Not really uh losing Ali Kawatu is is so much more in Manley's attack than I think people might have taken credit for in the sense of he just he just draws players to him, which allows Garrick and and and Saab the space. Um Garrick twice calling for the ball and blind siding on fifth tackle and getting hit and even passing it like in that last play of the game, like opportunity to try and do something, passes it to Saab and Saab slows down back steps. I don't like to be too critical, but if there's one person that is borderline, got to be got to be turning around and looking at their spot, it has to be Jason Saab because Blake Wilson, when he came on, uh when was it last week? And also Felady is showing that he can you can bump Garrick out to the wing, Felady in its centre. Well, what is also what happens to Faulalo as well when Turbo's back? So we've got options now, which is a positive, um, but it just wasn't going our way. And one thing that came up in the game when we were standing in the stadium was what are all these six agains for? We no one had a clue. No, and and it was like there'd be someone lying on a tackle for just like the they've just made the tackle and the six again would go for a rook infringement, and it's like you you it it was ridiculous. If that what was there, like there was a stupid amount of six agains in that five for five for them, five for us in a row, or something like that. Yeah, it was it was awfully reft, um, which just completely takes this thing out of game, out of the games. Um, I do one thing I've got to say is is Manley's ability to be able to score tries out of nothing. It has been consistent all season, and I don't I can't that's uh that's not going anyway. It's bomb. But yeah, Foggete's bomb that the bounce like Fal Allo's try was a was a nice move uh to to open up. Um Foggete's try itself, like oh Luke Brooks looting it through. Yeah, no, Luke Brooks just a little pass their shot. You could the shot defender could say it was all lucky because it could have bubbled anywhere, but it's not the first time Brooks and Fogerty have broken like that this season. So um I think that's the positive you can take from it. The one that the big the momentum shift and the swinger was the mistake just before half time, like on the buzzer when Will Kennedy boots over Hoppowati's head and he jumps and tries to get fingers to it and then they score in a corner. If I think if that doesn't happen, I think we might potentially go on and win the game. But look, it we haven't been battered, great spirit fight. We lost, we were three big names down. Um and yeah, like I don't I don't think we're far off. The only problem I find at the moment is when we're good, we're good, but when we're bad, we're really bad. And we need to find that we need to get that bad performance up a little bit of a level to to take it seriously. But talking of teams that got their performance up a little, Jesus, the dragons get their first win of the season against the Broncos. The Broncos were terrible. I didn't watch much of this, only watched the second half. I genuinely thought the Broncos were going to come back and win it in the last minute. But what sums it up for the Broncos that I think it was Reynolds that had the ball like last kick of the game, and he just boots it down, boots it down the fullback's throat. And that that was it, really. But big shock, big up upset of the round. Huge, huge. I don't think anyone saw that coming, and it's a fair play to the dragons. Every time they attacked, they looked like they were gonna score. Um, they were they were brilliant. I don't know whether that says more about the Broncos defence than it does um the the uh the dragons attack, but the the pitch was awful as well, like they were really struggling to keep their footing. Um but again, this if if this is how they're gonna now continue their their season, I think they're they're playing the sharks away this this week weekend, which I can see coming to an abrupt, abrupt end for the dragons. Um but if they can build this momentum uh going into the end of the season, plus all the people that they've got coming in, it it's gonna be doing well with what I said last week about them being one to watch for next year. Um Clint Guthressen decided to come out of his his his tomb and turn up. He had it, he had a great game. Val Holmes again decided to wake up. Best game of the season from Val Holmes. Yeah. And it just so it shows how big these players are and how much class they still have. It is, it is, and the Broncos, I think Mam's been the scapegoat, he's been dropped this week. Um, but yeah, you just can't I just can't take the Broncos seriously at the moment. Although what's that stat? This fixtures had the same scoreline for the last three years, and the last two years, the Broncos are in exactly the same position last year, with exactly the same result. Do I think they're gonna go on the run they did last year? I don't think so. I don't think I you can't count them out for the for the premiership, but I also don't think that they're they're gonna cause anyone problems. It all depends because like Reese Walsh had a career best season at the back end of the year, they got a lot of luck going their way against the Raiders, so I don't know. But um, two teams that are very much in contention. Panthers win a tight one, a gritty one, like there was some stick in this, it was a high quality game. But one thing I just want to allude to before we talk about this, all the conversation's been around like the Panthers and the Warriors being the two top two teams, and like how close Warriors will walk away with that feeling of ah, you know what, we can beat them on their day. One cleary wasn't playing, neither was Toto, neither was Yo. Didn't Manley do exactly the same and lose 18-16 to a full strength Panthers squad, and why aren't Manley in the conversation of like not being scared of the Panthers? Great point. Great point, and uh that's where Manley are at this point in the year. Um, but no, it was solid, solid game. Um I think there's I don't think so. If you go back to 2023 when the Warriors were the last last in there and and and fighting amongst it, I I don't think it's the same sort of unit mentally either. Um I think this is showing how they could sort of go that extra extra step. Um I I think they do need to get over the the the oodoo of of beating the Panthers um and and whatnot, but I I I genuinely think they've got it in their locker, and I think this this this week weekend did did show that as well. It did. And another team that are slowly creeping up on everyone is the Newcastle Knights. I consider him last year's wooden spooners, they get one over the eels, Titan. At half time, but tell you what, like Kalen Ponger just makes a difference, even though it does. What was it first half of Origin? You turn around to me and was like, ah, is is is Ponger even playing? I was like, see that bloke and the scrum hat that's going sideline to sideline, creating everything in a sack. That's yeah, but and and the geezer that was jumping up in the air and landing on his back whenever he was catching a higher ball. That was a bit strange, but yeah, the the knights have been doing this now consistently for the last four or five weeks. Um yeah, Greg Marju is is he's having a having a season. Um he's he's brilliant. No, we've touched on Dum Young's again back finding back finding form. Um and and they're they're they're issuing for the at least the eight. They've got to be, they've got to be. But I want to get on to the next game because there's a controversial decision in this, which I think was absolute horseshit. But um the tigers defeating the Bulldogs 22-16. And Curran gets one of the best blocks I've seen. Like the gear is in control of his body, he gets his hands up, there's no intent to like dive at the leg or hit the leg, and then he runs what 40 meters, takes it home, and it's chalked off. And I just thought that was ridiculous. Like it's never it's never a penalty. You can't touch the kicking leg though. Now that's the that's the issue. You can't even if the kicker kicks you, it's it does take out the game. I was thinking about it the other day, is is how are you then supposed to block kicks if you're if you're not able to touch the kicking leg, does it take the the the block completely out of the game? Um and I was always partly the kicker's responsibility as well, not to be in a position to get hit. If you stand too, if you're 11, if you're 13 meters back, of course you're gonna get pressured by someone. Why don't you go 15, 16, 17 metres back? So you've got plenty of time. I just think the kickers are protected too. Like, don't get me wrong, if someone dives off their feet and has no control over their body and they're clearly trying to go through the leg, then I that's a penalty and potentially more, but you can't he's genuinely making a play at the ball. And this also goes back to last year when the Broncos beat the Raiders in in the last minute. Like, I can't remember who it was, got a clip on like the studs of whoever was kicking it, and they got that penalty and one it was Reynolds, I think, or Hunt that was booting it away. And I just think I don't know, I'm not too sure. I don't like it. I know it's the rule, but I don't like it. And and I was listening to somewhere I th I can't remember where it was that was saying is is you can tell by uh Li's reaction, like that that gives a massive cement that he thought it was all all legal. Marshall thought it was a try as well, yeah. Because Luai spins on a dime and gets gets chasing straight away. Whereas I think they they brought up the same example. If it was Mitch Moses, I think it would have been an Oscar winning performance. Um in in in the take taking a dive. But look, the Tigers Appy could I don't think there's any coincidence that Appy comes back first game and they end up winning. Um at nine jersey for for the blues for sure. Yeah, I think he's he's gotta have an origin call-up. He's uh he like don't get me wrong, Victor Radley. I think he came on in in nine, didn't he? Radley, where did Radley come on? I don't know where, but yeah, he he he's gonna be in there, but Appy needs to be in there. He's he's just such a workhorse, incredible in defense and and can play the ball. Uh and he's he's an absolute nightmare from the base of the rock as well. So um definitely seeing see him getting uh uh wearing that blues jersey. And then this game, this next game, Raiders, Cowboys, didn't see any of it, can't comment on it. So I don't know. Did you watch this one? Uh watched parts of it. Uh Raiders at home, um, pretty pretty good. Like they they do what they they do well at home. Um we're working well, working well in the bit of this actually. Matty Lodge was getting in a bit of aggro at the end with uh Corey Horsbrough, wasn't he? Love uh little bit from Lodge in a cabinet or something whilst I was whilst it was on. Uh but no, like Cowboys, I I didn't see them ever winning this game, but Raiders just solid home performance, to be honest. Yeah, and then last game of the round. Look, I don't know what's going on with the Roosters. They uh they can perform well. Yeah, right, they had a few origin stars missing, but look, Storm pretty comfortable, like a pretty comfortable picture for them. Um, are the Storm gonna do what the Panthers did last year? No, I don't think so, no. Um, I they they've still got those losses. It's still like convincing. They were I know they wouldn't 18-4, but it wasn't a convincing 18-4. Um, the Roosters were just the I know it's very obvious to say, but the the Roosters were just the worst team out of the two. Um still not all teams in two poor teams. Um and look, they're not the the the the the storm aren't the the storm of old where you you're sort of terrified with them. I remember when we watched them at Manly last season, the way they were shaping up in attack every time they went forward, you thought they were gonna they were gonna um this this year. I just don't don't see that. Yeah, um let's get on to round 14. I think the headphones have cut out for you, but let's get through onto round 14 and then Thursday night big return to Pines Park in the background. We got the Manley Seagulls at $1.63 against the South Sydney Rabbit O's at $2.28. Few names back for the rabbit O's, be an interesting one. Where are you going? Manly, always Manley. It's never not gonna be Manley. Um, I I I would have been a bit more worried if Latro Mitchell was in there. Um, but uh seeing David Fafita's back, I think he'll be he'll be handled. Uh he's gonna be up against Alakowato, I think, on that because he plays on the left, I'm Kawato on the right. I do see Alex Johnson scoring maybe once or twice. Um, I think he's a he's a clinical finisher against Saab and Garrick. Um I uh the thing I worry about is Saab biting in too quickly on Fafita and it just going straight out of the back to Johnson, but I still see Manley coming out with a win in it. I worry about our bench, like no bully more, head knock apparently. Worry a little bit about our bench. Uh Nathan Brown and Jackson Sherub got exposed against the Sharks. Um, but I do think Manley win this and they win it quite comfortably. Uh let me just get up the features and do apologize. Did what you did the other week. Um, we've got then that takes us to the Friday game. Uh, the six o'clock kickoff. We've got the storm at a dollar sixty-three against the knights at two twenty-nine. I I think this is closer than what the odds are suggesting. And you know what? I'm gonna go for a knight's win on the road against a storm on their flat track. Yep, I was alluding to it in uh in my last bit of commentary there. Um I I I think the knights come away with this and they'll win as well. And then we're 8 p.m. kickoff. We're at the GIO stadium in Canberra. We've got the Raiders at $2.13 against the Roosters, $1.72. Fair few boys back for the Roosters. Oh, big Marky Marks back, that's what I meant. Not fair few boys, a big one. The largest of the boys. Um, I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go Raiders. Raiders at home. I am also gonna go Raiders. I wasn't impressed with the Roosters, what I saw last week, and I think the Raiders are decent at home, so I'm gonna join you with the Raiders. Brilliant, and then we are at the first kickoff on the uh oh, oh yeah, it's bang on a day Monday. Uh first kickoff on the Saturday is the 5.30 at the Queensland Country Bank Stadium up in Townsville. We've got the Cowboys at 2.28 against the Dolphins at a dollar 63. A little QLD derby we got going on here. Uh, haven't we? Yeah, I know. A lot of players back for the Dolphins. Nice to see Herbie Farmworth back. Named Bostock is there, Cobo, Flegla. I think the Dolphins will win this game. Yeah, well I'm gonna go Dolphins as well. Ah, back to back Queensland derby. So we're going 5:30 and 7.35 pm. We've got we're at the Sun Court, we've got the Brisbane Broncos at $1.44 against the Gold Coast Titans at $2.80. There can't be another upset, can there? They can. Um I'm gonna I'm gonna I think I'm gonna go for the Broncos in this one. I think they'll need to bounce back. Yeah, I agree. I think Madge will shove a rocket up their arse. I think they'll come out and they'll pump the Titans. Yeah. Uh, and then we've got the two o'clock kickoff on the Sunday at the Combank Stadium. Who's the home team? We've got the West Tigers at 4.25 and the Panthers at $1.22. Two teams that use the Combank as a home ground that it isn't their home ground, it's a confusing one. Um, Panthers for me. Panthers. And then down to Ocean Protect, the Sharks are back to back. Look at them getting Friday to Sunday rest, and we're going bloody Friday to Thursday. Check the schedule, check the schedule. But uh sharks, $1.28 against the Dragons, $3.66. Sharks, like I I think that I think this would be a close game, but I'm gonna go sharks. I think the dragons have got the possibility to scare them, and it all depends what sharks pop out because that last 20 odd minutes they weren't great, and the dragons obviously held on, but they weren't great in the last 20 minutes. But I'm gonna go for the sharks in this one, and then we've got the kickoff on the bank holiday Monday. Uh public holiday, public holiday. Public holiday, sorry, public holiday. Uh we've got the we're at the core stadium, which should be bouncing. Uh for it. We've got the Bulldogs at $1.52 against the Eels at $2.53. Ooh. Ooh, ooh, ooh. This is a tight one. Moses hasn't been named, has he? So oh, they're both the eels without Moses, and then the bulldogs that aren't in any. I'm gonna go with the bulldogs. I'm going back to the bulldogs in this one. Get the doggies. Yeah, I think I think I'm gonna join you on that one as well. And that's it. Off to Fos Pines Park on Thursday. We go for us to sit to see us turn over the rabbit o's, but something a bit different today. Um, make sure you hit that like and subscribe button, and we will catch you in the next one. See you then.
