The Food for Thought Faithcast with Be Rob

Ep.21- From This Hour: A Journey of Faith, Friendship, and Music with Dallas Sidener

Be Rob Season 1 Episode 21

What if finding purpose in life was as simple as a connection with a friend and a shared love for music? Join me, Be Rob, as I recount the transformative journey with my dear friend, Dallas Sidener, that led us to discover deeper faith and creativity. From the humble beginnings of forming our Christian rock band, From This Hour, inspired by the profound verse John 12:27, to the impactful moments we've shared at Tres Diaz men's retreats, this episode is a heartfelt reflection on how friendships can guide you to spiritual enlightenment and personal growth.

Dallas's influence on my spiritual path extends beyond music. Together, we've experienced life-changing moments through music and service at the retreats. Our stories intertwine music, camaraderie, and faith, painting a vivid picture of how these elements can bring meaning and purpose to everyday life. This conversation invites you to reflect on those who have shaped your journey and encourages you to explore how your own passions can serve a greater cause. Tune in for a meaningful exploration of faith, friendship, and the power of creativity.

Now, dallas is a good buddy of mine. He is like a brother to me. His wife of 28 years. His name is Melissa. Her maiden name was Melissa Stringfield and I have known her since we were both in diapers. My mother and her mother are best friends. That's kind of cool, huh. They have two beautiful daughters named Macy and Haley, and they've been married for 28 years and guess what? I was the photographer at their wedding. Pretty cool, huh.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that was back before you had this digital stuff. You know what I'm saying. Like that was back before you could just go up with your iPhone and just click a picture and do all kind of stuff with it. You know, you really had to like use film and like really use different types of film for different types of photos and different types of shots, and it was more artistic back then and you had to get it or you had to develop it yourself. You know it was kind of crazy back in the day. Oh, school, you know what I'm saying. Be Rob, 50 years old, you know, but I age ain't nothing but a number anyway. But just you guys.

Speaker 1:

S4 Construction Services great people man, dallas is a great person. He led me to Christ, he helped lead me to Christ, probably 2008. And that was the third time since I was a little kid that I had been led to Christ and the second time I got baptized. It was a lot of fun too, because I played a lot of music, started writing a lot of Christian music and Dallas, he liked to sing, man, but he was kind of shy, he was singing in the truck, stuff like that. But I got him to sing and we wrote some pretty good stuff and we even started a band called From this Hour. It was like a Christian rock band and it came from the verse John 12, 27. And it was like the only time Jesus was, he was kind of troubled. The verse goes my soul is troubled and I, and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour. No, it was the very reason I came to this hour. So he was conflicted, but that's OK. I mean he was conflicted but that's okay. I mean he was human, right, but he went on to uh down the cross and he uh conquered the grave and that's he did it for us. So that's the great thing. But, guys, um, the sponsor shout out. That's uh Dallas Seidner and his company, s4 Construction Services.

Speaker 1:

Another cool thing is Dallas took me to my first men's retreat. It's called Trace Diaz, and then a couple of years later we came back and it was Trace Diaz. I think the first one I went to was 14 or 13,. But then we came back and we served and we did all the music for me and him, and that was number 17, which is really cool, really cool.

Speaker 1:

Um, god worked through us and sometimes people don't recognize it, but I think me and him recognize it and we've been called and he does it through a different way than I do it, but he, like I said, as for construction services, lincoln, georgia, specializing in roof repairs, roof replacements, metal roofing, vinyl and hardy siding, patio covers, pole barns, wooden, chain link fences, and the funny thing about this is is when he wrote this out. He wrote we'll even clean your house and wash the dishes. But he didn't think I was going to read it verbatim. But that's what I've been reading and I wasn't going to read it tonight, but I just wanted to tell that little story. But y'all remember Dallas Seidner, s4 Construction Services, his phone number 706-834-0865. And God bless y'all, god bless S4 Construction Services, god bless us for construction services, god bless the siders and um, we'll see you on the next episode. Food for thought podcast. Be Rob. Monday February 17th, I'm out.
