The Food for Thought Faithcast with Be Rob

Ep. 5-The Tongue's Power: How Your Words Shape Your Life and Faith

Be Rob Season 2 Episode 5

The power of words shapes our reality. Whether we speak life or death into situations, our tongues direct our steps and impact everyone around us. After returning from a transformative week at Man Camp with Nikita Koloff and Lex Luger, this episode explores how authentic faith must translate into life-giving speech.

Scripture reminds us that "the tongue has the power of life and death" (Proverbs 18:21). When we enter rooms as believers, do we bring light or darkness? Do our words lift others up or tear them down? This stark contrast between Sunday worship and workweek words creates spiritual whiplash that damages our witness. Most telling is how we've replaced "sin" with "problem" - a subtle linguistic shift that undermines true repentance. Sin requires confession, repentance and active forsaking, not just acknowledgment.

Proverbs wisely counsels that "too much talk leads to sin" while Exodus reminds us "the Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still." This Holy Week, challenge yourself to speak less, listen more, and respond promptly to the Holy Spirit's nudges. The transformation shared in this episode - 20 pounds lost, cigarettes abandoned, and relationships healing - demonstrates what happens when we surrender completely to God's authority. Our Creator isn't simply a friend but a commanding Father who blesses obedience. What blessings might be waiting on the other side of your obedience today? Join us in prayer for those facing cancer, recovery, and spiritual growth as we celebrate the power of resurrection in our daily lives.

Speaker 1:

Hey guys, it's B-Rob here. It's Monday morning, april 14th, and man, I just want to tell you last week was an amazing week. It was man Camp week and before we get started, we're going to say a little prayer over the podcast and we're going to say a little prayer over this week. For anybody who is out there facing trials and tribulations, that is nothing but a grand thing in the scheme of our Lord, god and Jesus Christ. So, dear Heavenly Father, we come to you today, lord. We come to you with great intentions, from our heart. Lord, we come to you in hopes that you would heal us, lord, in hopes that you would give us grace and mercy for this beautiful week you have lined up, this beautiful holy week you have lined up for us, lord, we pray for this podcast that it may seek hearts and break down barriers. Lord, and only for you and your name, lord Jesus, we come to you today, Lord. We hope that there is healing. We know there is healing, lord, because anybody out there who is hurting Lord, who is going through tribulations, lord, we lift those people up, lord, in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, we know there is healing. We know there is faith. We know there is mercy. We know there is grace, lord, and comfort in the name of Jesus. There is power in the name of Jesus, lord, hallelujah. Lord, we just want to come to you and just give you thanks for all you do. Lord, give you thanks for just allowing me to have this platform so that I can spread the good news of Jesus Christ to people who may not have heard it. Lord, just pray that our hearts are open this week for receiving. Lord, just pray that our burdens are squashed at the foot of the cross. Lord, we give them all to you. Lord. It's in Jesus' name we pray these things. Amen and hallelujah. Guys just want to let you know man, amen and hallelujah. Guys just want to let you know man, man Camp was absolutely incredible. I want to thank Nikita Koloff Koloff for Christ Ministries. Lex Luger Everything you guys do is simply amazing.

Speaker 1:

Lord, I don't even know how to explain it. All I'm gonna tell you I can't. I can't say a whole lot, but uh, all I'm gonna tell you is, if you are a man and you need some renewed faith, if you are a man and you are a non-believer, if you are a man and you just simply are curious, um, you need to check out the man camp. I can put the link in the bottom of the comments and, um, you check out the website and there will be another one in October. Um, it is going to be. Let me check real quick. It is going to be amazing. I'm just telling you an amazing thing. It is October 19th through the 24th and that's 2025. And that's in Royston, georgia. That's the man can't put on by Lex Luger and Nikita Koloff, both co-founders and both amazing men of God, and they both have great stories.

Speaker 1:

And all I'm going to say I'm not going to say a whole lot because what happens at man Camp stays at man Camp and a lot of things were left at man Camp. But I can tell you this God brought his spirit, he came, he brought the Holy Spirit. Non-believers believed. Many men gave their life to Jesus this past week and it was amazing to see there were five of us that got baptized. Many sins were confessed and left at the foot of the cross on the top of that mountain. It's simply amazing brotherhood and fellowship. I have 16. Well, more than that, I have a lot of new brothers in Christ that I can lean on and call when I need to, and I just want to say thank you to Lex and Nikita and the rest of the man Camp staff for putting that on for us.

Speaker 1:

It is an amazing thing and we're not going gonna stay long today. It's gonna be more of a. We're gonna motivate and hopefully, uh, this will uh get your week started and, um, we're gonna talk about, uh, the tongue and uh, I just want to say talk is cheap. It costs Jesus's life for the gospel to be preached. I mean, the man died just so the gospel of Jesus Christ can be preached, and um, that, uh, that has eternal consequences, which is which are absolutely amazing, because now we have, uh, we have Jesus Christ who, uh, as long as we believe, and um, he was sent and he died and rose three days later than we. We have everlasting life in Jesus Christ and, um, there's life and death in the tongue. Life and death in the tongue. Proverb 1821 says the tongue has the power of life and death and those who love will eat its fruits.

Speaker 1:

So, basically, um, do you speak life? Do you speak life, life being fruits? So, do you speak positivity? Do you lift people up when you talk? Do you make them feel positive? Do you, um? When you walk into the room, are you a beacon of light? When you enter an establishment, are you a beacon of light? Are you a blessing to someone?

Speaker 1:

If the Holy Spirit tells you to go tell somebody that Jesus said that he loves you today, then I would go tell him and say hey, man, jesus told me to tell you that he loves you. You can choose to ignore that. You can choose to listen. I choose to listen to the Holy Spirit because in the Bible it says many times if you listen, then God will bless you. If you listen, then God will bless you. If you listen to the commands of the Holy Spirit and God, he will bring blessings, rain blessings down on your life. There's a double-edged sword there. Do you hurt feelings with your speech? Do you make people feel worthless when you talk to them? Remember, you can be a deacon in a church on Sundays and Wednesdays, but if your tongue portray evil on Monday, tuesday, thursday, friday and Saturday, you are nothing but hypocritical at best, and I've seen it happen so many times.

Speaker 1:

In the workplace People go to church. They're Christians, they're man of God. The workplace people go to church. They're christians, they're man of god. They they're full of sin, but they call you know, I have a problem.

Speaker 1:

I have a problem with alcohol, I have a problem with cigarettes, I have a problem with uh, my foul mouth. Or I have a problem with sexual promiscuity or fornification or adultery or pornography. I have a problem. Um, we have uh, as humans, uh, to replace the word sin with problem, and that's a huge, huge, huge problem in itself, because modern day man, modern day society, they want to love. They want to say, oh, no, he's just got a problem. If we show him love, then everything will be fine.

Speaker 1:

No, it's a sin and it has to be repented, it has to be. There's a lot of different things that it has to be done, but we're going to talk about that on another. We're going to talk about that on another podcast. But just so you know what I'm talking about, Let me go over here. Sins have to be repented, confessed and then forsaken, and that's the way that works and we're going to do a whole episode on that. But we're going to get back to life and death in the tongue.

Speaker 1:

Be a beacon of light when you enter an establishment, be a blessing to someone today. Tell them you love them, tell them how good they look. And there's nothing wrong with this, nothing wrong with this at all. If God calls you to do something, then do it. The son comes to give us a new day every day, just as the son came and died on the cross for our sins, to give us a new life in Jesus Christ and in God. Proverbs 10, 19.

Speaker 1:

Too much talk leads to sin. But sensible, be sensible and keep your mouth shut. That's pretty strong words, pretty strong words there. Too much talk leads to sin. Be sensible and keep your mouth shut. Proverbs 10, 19. Think about what you're saying before you say it. Saying less will give you enough time to think about your words. It will allow you to have more control over them. Talking recklessly leads to sin, and nothing more, nothing less. Talking recklessly leads to sin, nothing more or nothing less. Guys, I just want to say thank you. Like I said, today is going to be a short day. We're going to do a little episode later. I'm going to do a lot more now that I'm back home.

Speaker 1:

Exodus 14, 14,. The Lord will fight for you. You need only to be still. So try something this week. Try to be still, try to pray. You might even want to fast a day or a meal or two and pray for what you need. The Lord fights for you. It says right there in Exodus 14, 14,. When the Holy Spirit speaks, listen. You never know what's on the other side of your obedience. So if you've got that burning sensation or you've got that thing in your heart that says, hey, man, I really need to be quiet right now. Or hey, man, I really need to tell that person right there that Jesus loves them and I love them too, when the Holy Spirit speaks, listen, because you never know what's on the other side of your obedience. Listen, because you never know what's on the other side of your obedience.

Speaker 1:

Our God is a commanding God and he rains blessings down for those who obey him. He does not want to be your friend. He wants you to obey him so that he can love you like a father should, if that makes sense. It's kind of a harsh reality, but it's not. It's the truth. It's the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you. He will not leave or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. That's Deuteronomy, chapter 31, verse 8. Hey, it's an amazing thing that we have a God who is so demanding, that all he tells you to do is love and obey him. It is an amazing thing. And if you can't do that, then all you have is our excuses, because there's no reason. That's what you are built to do. You are made in the image of God. Mankind was made in the image of God. Man and woman Find a way, not an excuse.

Speaker 1:

Guys, it's April 14th, it's Monday. I love you, guys, I love you all. It's a short episode, I understand, but I just wanted to say those things and let you know a little bit about man Camp, just so you know. I've lost 20 pounds doing manly things, but every manly thing had a godly lesson and I thank God every day for going to the man Camp. I have a new outlook on life. I have not smoked a cigarette in a week. It has been amazing and I am working on my marriage, I'm working on my life, I'm working on my relationships and I'm working on my spiritual relationship with God daily. And, guys, I love that you are being a part of this. I love that you are being a part of this transition with me. Guys, just keep me in your prayer. Holy Week.

Speaker 1:

We got up, we did Bible study today, we walked around the block I think that's the first day she's got up before 11 o'clock am in a long time, which is a good thing, and now she's out to work and I'm keeping her prayed up because she needs some money and we need some money. So, guys, I love you and it's been a great, great experience this past week and this week coming up is going to be, it's going to be lit for God because it's Holy week, if you know what I'm saying fresh fire, fresh, fresh scripture. Lord, that the spirit just comes and touches the earth like never before. Lord, that we seek you and that all evil tremble in their boots. Lord, all demons tremble at the word of the name Jesus, because we know there is power in the name. Lord. We know, lord.

Speaker 1:

I just want to pray that everybody has a safe and very, very amazing week.

Speaker 1:

That the fruits they bear are fruits of you, lord, that their speech is of you, lord, that their whole persona, when they walk in the room, just illuminates everybody in Christ Jesus, lord, we pray these things so that the young and the old that do not know Jesus can come to Jesus. Lord, because that is the ultimate goal of all this Lord is to bring more souls home. Lord, we pray that your healing is abundance, lord, this week, we know that your grace is good and that your mercy abounds, lord. We know that your fruits are of good fruits, lord. They do not wither away and die. In fact, they multiply, lord, into many blessings. That water turns to wine, lord, on your favor, lord, we know that you know everything before they happen. Lord, you know, we know, that you call this by name, lord and Lord, I just want to say I love you and it's in Jesus heavenly holy name.
