Ep.21-Eagles vs. Snakes: Taking Your Battles to Higher Ground

Be Rob Season 2 Episode 21

Have you ever wondered why eagles don't fight snakes on the ground? There's profound spiritual wisdom in this natural phenomenon. Eagles take snakes high into the air where they have no leverage, no stability, and ultimately no power. This powerful metaphor opens our episode, illuminating how prayer lifts our problems into the spiritual realm where, through Christ, we gain the advantage.

Anxiety is a universal struggle, even for those dedicated to prayer and scripture. Philippians 4:6-7 offers a counterintuitive approach: thanksgiving before resolution. When we thank God in advance, we acknowledge both His willingness to hear our concerns and His perfect solutions already prepared. This isn't blind optimism—it's faith that recognizes God's sovereignty and wisdom. The question from Matthew 6:27 cuts to the heart of our worry habit: "Can any one of you, by worrying, add a single hour to your life?" The answer challenges us to reconsider what thoughts we permit to occupy our minds.

We're building a community of believers who face real struggles yet seek spiritual victory. With over 1,000 listeners now joining us regularly, this growing movement reminds us we're not alone in our battles. Whether you're wrestling with relationship difficulties, financial pressure, health concerns, or spiritual attacks, the principles discussed offer practical approaches to finding peace. Prayer lifts our snakes into the air. Thanksgiving acknowledges God's care and perfect plans. Worship with reverence and awe places us in proper relationship with our unshakable God. Share your prayer requests in the comments—Courtney and I would be honored to lift your concerns to the spiritual realm where battles are truly won.

I'll tell you a little story about the eagle and the snake. You see, eagles, they don't fight snakes on the ground. The way the eagle attacks the snake is that an eagle understands that if you fight the snake on the ground, the snake will always win, because the snake is more comfortable on the ground. So the eagle will take the snake high up in the air, high up in the air, where it's uncomfortable. They'll throw it way up in the air and then grab it again, because in the air the snake has no stamina, he has no ground, the snake cannot fight back. So the eagle grabs it again, because in the sky the snake is weak, useless and vulnerable. So you see, when you take a prayer or a problem into the prayer realm, you are literally taking that snake into the air. And that's what happens when you pray and fast. You're literally taking those issues into the spirit world. There, my friend, you will have the upper hand through our Lord and Savior Jesus, by breaking those strongholds. You may not see the visible results right away, but those things will shift in the realm of the spirit world. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Guys, I don't know about you, but I am not an anxious, free person. I am not an anxiety-free person. I try to live in the Bible and stay prayed up, but it's a dark world, and when we're in the dark place and we're in need of God's help, why exactly do you think the scripture instructs us to thank him even before anything has changed In today's passage, philippians 4, 6, and 7, which says Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with, ask God for something right, expressing our needs or wants to him. But then it comes to the word Thanksgiving. What exactly are we supposed to be thankful for? Well, the reason we thank God before anything has changed about our situation is because, no matter what we're feeling anxiety or what we're anxious about, whether it's a relationship, a job, school money, spiritual status or anything else God cares enough about us to want to hear about it. So we also thank God because whatever solution he had already written in the book of our name, whatever solution is already out there that he has planning, is obviously the best solution. There is none better Because, guys think about it. His solutions are the best.

Why do we worry so much? Matthew, chapter six, verse 27, says can any one of you, by worrying, add a single hour to your life? So why do we worry so much? What sort of thoughts are allowing you to take up space in your mind? Food for thought. Hebrews 12, verse 28. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful and so worship God acceptably, with reverence and awe. Let us worship God acceptably, with reverence and awe. Food for thought. Well, guys, once again, I thank you for hanging out with me today on my podcast and I hope you like the little music additions that I've entered, the sound effects and beats or whatnot. But, like I said, if you have any, I like creative criticism. I don't get my underwear in a wad because somebody tells me they think I could sound better doing something else. I mean that's how countries are formed, that's how nations are formed. People talk creative criticism. You know it's a great thing. Thank you guys for being an army of God.
