Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We open with lighthearted jokes before moving into 1 John 4 and the call to test the spirits, hold fast to the Gospel, and live out love that silences fear. Truth keeps us grounded, love keeps us effective, and both flow from Jesus, not from trends or vibes.
• testing the spirits against the confession of Jesus
• warning about false prophets and self-focused spirituality
• God is love versus the illusion of feel-good truth
• perfect love casting out fear in daily life
• loving brothers and sisters as proof of knowing God
• truth and love working together for maturity
• practical encouragement to rely on the Spirit

Look at me. I am going backwards, and I don't even need to go backwards. It's part four, guys. It's part four, yeah, it's gonna be a good one. But before we do, why did the scarecrow win an award? Because he was outstanding in his field. Yeah, I didn't like that one. Okay, okay, okay, okay. I got I got something. I got something. So I told my wife she should embrace her mistakes. She gave me a hug. Yeah. Guys, I used to hate facial hair, but then it grew on me. Last one, last one. Why do skeletons never fight each other? Because they don't have the guts. It wasn't that bad I'm funny. It wasn't that funny. Alright, guys, we we wanna go into this 1 John chapter 4, and um I hope you love it, and I hope uh you get something out of it, and I hope God has blessed and ordained this day and this podcast. Let's go to the Lord in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for this day, Lord. We thank you for allowing us to wake up on this side of the pavement, Lord. We thank you for your mercy that you give us. Lord, this is a trying world of trying times, and um there are a lot of deceivers out there. There are a lot of people of this world who do not know God, and we are bombarded daily with evil, Lord, whether it be through electronics, whether it be through TV, whether it be through internet, Lord. We just pray, Lord, that we stay close to you, Lord, that we stay humble, we stay righteous, Lord. We pray that we walk like Jesus, Lord. We pray for your mercy, Lord. We we stumble and um please forgive us for that, Lord. We uh we love you. We thank you for the title, Child of God, Lord. We thank you for everything you wrote in your book, Lord. We thank you for blessings that we don't even know about yet, Lord. We thank you for lessons that you have taught us, Lord. Lord, may we live in sovereignty and peace in Jesus' holy, heavenly name. We pray. Amen and hallelujah. Guys, if you have your Bibles, turn to 1 John chapter 4. We're gonna be reading on this, and we're gonna call this one love and truth, because this is where John brings balance. He shows us you can't separate truth and love, that you need both. Chapter 4, verse 1 says, Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirit to see whether they are from God. Because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you recognize the spirit of God. Every spirit acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard is coming and is even now already in the world. Guys, this is so let's do this. Let's a little history. A little history. Let's do this. Let me go here. So the book of John, first John, was uh written after Jesus, about 85, they're saying 85 to 95 years, okay? And it addresses developed church issues. And what are we talking about now? We're talking about false prophets. We're talking about the spirit of the Antichrist. And now, guys, we talk about spirit. I talk about spiritual warfare here on this podcast a lot because you're seeing the war on the surface. You're seeing the light exposing the darkness every day. Verse 4 says, You dear children, are coming from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. You see, John is saying there are two influences in the world, spirit of the truth and the spirit of the Antichrist, falsehood, uh, the spirit of error, the spirit of wrong, the spirit of evil against the spirit of truth. Because in this world, not everything that sounds loving is true, and not everything that sounds true is loving. Does that make sense? Maturity is learning how to discern one from another. Not every voice is God's voice. John says, test the spirits. Just because it sounds spiritual doesn't mean it's biblical. And just because it sounds deep doesn't mean it's true. You see, that's why the gospel of Jesus matters, because it is one hundred percent true. You look back at verse one, it says, Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone into the world. So do you see what I'm talking about? And you see it every day, all day, this new age stuff. Heck, I've even been a victim of that stuff. The stones, the trinkets, the crystals, the yogas. It's not about God, it's all about self. And that's what this world is about. Spiritual vibes and feeling good about yourself is all fine and dandy, but it does not replace biblical truth. Some of you guys needed to hear that again. Spiritual vibes don't replace biblical truth because God is the true love. You see, John doesn't say God has love. He says God is love. That means real love does not start with self. It does not start with things of this world that make you feel good. It does not start with your feelings or your emotions. It starts with the one and only Him, the great I Am. You see? We don't love to earn God's love. We love because He already received it. You see, you can only give what you receive. The fishes and the loaves of bread from the kid's lunch does not multiply until you give it away. Does that make sense? In verse 7 it says, Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Everyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us. He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love. Not that we love God, but that he loved us and sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Verse 11 says, Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God, but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us. This is how we know that we live in him and he is in us. He has given us his spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his son to be the only Savior of the world. If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God. And so we know and we rely on the love God has for us. That's what I'm talking about. God is love. And we have to give away that love that we have received. I wrote a song about it. It's called That Love. Check it out. On Apple Music, Spotify, and all that good stuff. It's uh modern hip hop. I wrote it for the kids because they seem to like Forrest Frank a lot. So I kind of mimic that a little bit, but it's B-rob. Anyway, let's get back. Let's get back. This is so good. So good. Verse 19, we love because he loved us first. Whoever claims to love God yet hates his brother or sister is a liar. But whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, who they have not seen. And he has giveth us this commandment. Anyone who loves God must love their brother and sister. Guys, you see, we are not to have fear, false evidence appearing real, because the perfect love of Jesus cast out fear. You see, fear only lives where love is not trusted. That is not Jesus. But you see, fear, the false evidence appearing real, shrinks. It goes away. When the light of the love of Jesus is believed in your heart and is spread to your neighbor, your brother, your friend. The fear goes away. When you really know God loves you, the fear loses its power. When you really know God loves you, fear loses its power. When love gets loud, fear gets quiet. You see? Guys, let's look at some key points of verse four. Truth keeps us grounded. Love keeps us effective. And guys, you need both. You need both. But you can't let that fear grow. Because, like I said, it's false evidence appearing real. That's what it stands for. Ninety-nine percent of the things that you think of in your head about what's going to happen never happens. Because truth keeps you grounded, love keeps you effective, and you need both. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. Philippians 4 13. You see. Guys, I love you. God loves you. And if you don't have a relationship with Jesus, you better get right. Greetings, Faith Cast fam. Make sure you visit the website www.forchministry.com. You can find my music.
