• politics as an unreliable savior
• Scripture on authority, idolatry, and allegiance
• fear as a tool of control and compliance
• Christ’s kingdom contrasted with earthly systems

Fear As A Tool Of Control
SPEAKER_00Well, guys, hey, it's B Rob. Thank you for tuning in to the Food for Thought Faith Cast once again. And that was my dogs, and they're annoying. Somebody just came in the front door and they just started barking. But anyway, guys, thank you for tuning in. Once again, today, like I told you earlier, we're gonna do chapter six of the audiobook freebie for you before it comes out. And I hope you enjoyed the clips before I'm watching The House of David for the second time. I love the show. It goes off, it's it's not some of it's biblical, some of it's not. But hey man, it's better than watching Game of Thrones. You know? It's family friendly, it's good stuff. But anyway, without further ado, guys, here is a part six of the book The Discernment, my new book. Let us roll it. Chapter six Power, Politics and the Illusion of Salvation. A lot of people are confusing politics with deliverance. They're putting hope in systems that were never designed to save them. Governments don't save people. Leaders don't save people. Policies do not save people. Jesus saves people. Scripture makes that unmistakably clear. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved. That's Acts chapter four verse twelve. That doesn't mean politics don't matter. They do. Authority matters, order matters, governance matters, but none of it replaces God, and that's where people lose their discernment. They start believing that if the right person is in power, everything will be fixed, as if corruption disappears because it has a different face and an office. That's not biblical. God has always ruled above kings, nations, and empires. He changes times and season, he disposes kings and raises up others. That's Daniel chapter 2, verse 21. And history proves it. Every system rises and falls. No government has ever been permanent. Scripture already told us this. The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever. That's 1 John 2, verse 17. People want to believe politics is neutral, but it's not. Power attracts influence, and influence attracts compromise. That's why spiritual discernment is required when dealing with authority structures. The danger isn't being involved, the danger is being deceived. Jesus warned us about deception tied to authority and influence. Watch out that no one deceives you. That's Matthew chapter 24, verse 4. People start excusing things that never would be excused before, like language, behavior, pride, corruption, because they're afraid of losing control or momentum. That's how people trade conviction for convenience. Scripture calls that out plainly. What good is it for someone to gain the whole world yet forfeit their soul? That's Mark chapter eight, verse thirty six. You can pray for leaders without worshiping them. You can support order without surrendering discernment. You can desire stability without confusing it with salvation. Scripture actually commands prayers for leaders, but not devotion to them. I urge that petition, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings, and all those in authority. That's first Timothy chapter two, verses one and two. That line gets crossed when fear takes over. Fear of losing freedoms, fear of losing influence, fear of losing comfort. Fear is always a tool of manipulation. Scripture confirms this. For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self discipline. That's Second Timothy chapter one verse seven. You see, beast systems thrive on fear. They always have. They promise protection in exchange for loyalty, security in exchange for silence. That's not new. Empires have always worked the same way. Consolidate power, control information, reward compliance, punish resistance. And people go along with it because it feels safer than uncertainty. But God has never ruled through fear. God rules through truth. Jesus said, Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free. That's John chapter 8, verse 32. That's why his kingdom doesn't look like earthly systems. It doesn't rely on propaganda, personality cults, or blind allegiance. Jesus never tried to take political power. He didn't overthrow Rome. He didn't campaign. He didn't rally crowds for control. He preached repentance. Scripture records this clearly. That itself should tell you something. Any system that demands loyalty without truth is already corrupted. And any movement that can't tolerate discernment is already drifting. This is where people get uncomfortable. Because it means you can't outsource responsibility. You can't blame leaders for your obedience. You can't point to systems and say, I had no choice. You always had a choice. Joshua made that clear long ago. Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve. That's Joshua twenty-four, verse fifteen. And the choice is who you ultimately serve. God allows leaders, God allows government, but God alone deserves allegiance. Scripture draws that line. No one can serve two masters. That's Matthew six, verse twenty four. When politics become identity, faith gets compromised. When leaders become saviors, discernment disappears. When discernment disappears, deception moves fast. Scripture warns us the God of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers. That's Second Corinthians chapter four, verse four. You see, this isn't about sides, it's about sovereignty. God's kingdom stands above every system, every election, every nation, and every ruler. Scripture declares it. That's Revelation eleven, verse 15. And it will be standing when all the others are gone. If your hope rises and falls with political outcomes, your foundation is unstable. Your faith was never meant to rest on power structures, it was meant to rest on Christ. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. That's Hebrews chapter 13, verse 8. If you do not have a relationship with Jesus Christ today, you better get right. Well, Faith Cast fam, we hope you enjoyed chapter 6. We'll have chapter 7 tomorrow as long as I have power.
