The Hebrides Revival Story
A Window For Prayer
SPEAKER_01There was a great revival in the Hebrides. In the early 1900s. Began to move. Moved up to the pleading form into the 40s. Maybe we could say top down in the early 50s. Two old women. One was 84 years old and one was 82 years old. One was blind, and one was humped over so badly with sponsors to notice just arched over. But they had passion for revival. They wanted God to work. This is this is what happened. They couldn't even get out to the church to pray. They couldn't even get out to the church to worship. Their house became a place to meet. People came in. They got so passionate about revival coming to the Isle, the Isle of Lewis. They got so passionate about it. They confronted the preacher and wanted to know if he was thoroughly right with God. And they prayed and prayed and prayed. And they'd seen the Lord, they said, with the church filled up. God blessing. A great overflow. And the fire of God struck. A tiny little obscure place off the coast of Scotland. And what had happened? Zimbabwe's teenage boy they got saved in it. The preacher became so dependent upon the bottom and so close to the bottom, he would ask him to leave in public prayers. Help him with the meetings. People began to hear about it, and the revival fire sprayed. It spread. Those two old women. The people, kind of people, people owned the church anymore. From that same album, there was a young girl who was a cousin to Donald Smith. Who immigrated to the Methyl. Her name was Mary Smith McClown. She came to the man of them in 1936. She met a man in Fred. And those old women were her eyes. And then came out far. And she gave him Bible. He was born in 1946. He's now the 45th president of the United States. And the revival Bible is in the Oval Office. I'm saying to you, I don't know how. I don't know how it all comes together. But I believe God is putting some things together to give us just a window, just a window. If he if he could find some open people who know what the window's for. Can this be the time the windows open? Providentially, God has prepared the moment. And we will become the people of prayer. Pleading with God. This is a plea. Will thou not revive us again? Will you be a part of that? Will you?
Psalm 56 Trust Over Fear
Closing Prayer For Trust
Resources And Prayer Requests
Body Stewardship And Provision Project
SPEAKER_04In 1 Timothy chapter 2, verses 1 and 2 say, I urge then first of all that petitions, prayers, and intercessions and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all those in authority, and that way we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. Guys, I don't know how you feel about our president, but you gotta pray for him and think about this think about what he's under. Think about distress. I mean he's doing things never before been done in history. He's rattling a uh a hundred-year-old beast system that uh has been keeping us enslaved. So keep him in your prayers and um and just pray that he keeps trusting God in the middle of fear, because we know that false evidence appearing real, that is what fear stands for. And today's scripture is Psalm 56, verse 3, and it says, When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. You see, a lot of times we don't like to admit it, but fear shows up and tries to run our lives. We fear about a lot of things. We fear about the future, we fear about our finances, we fear about our relationships, we fear about whether we are good enough, and the powerful thing about Psalms fifty six verse three is that David doesn't say if I am afraid, he says when I am afraid. So fear's not a possibility, fear's actually a guarantee. You're guaranteed fear in this particular dimension or the life. You see, but you want to know what else is guaranteed. The opportunity to trust God because God has already won. You see, fear is very human in nature. It's not failure. So don't get it twisted. You see, David's the same man who killed Goliath. David's the same man who admits he's afraid and gets afraid. This is the same David who would become king, who was anointed by Samuel, who had seen God move in many, many powerful ways. And yet in this verse, Psalms 56 3, he still says, When I am afraid. You see, fear doesn't steal your faith. Fear doesn't mean your faith is weak, it only means you're human. Just take a look at Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. He felt deep distress, fear. You see, the goal's not to eliminate fear, the goal is to know what to do when fear actually comes. Because you have that choice, that choice of trust. David says, I put my trust in you. That phrase put my trust is very intentionally. It's an active phrase. It's not I feel peaceful or I feel confident or I feel strong. He says, I choose to trust. You see, trust is somewhat of a decision you make in opposition of what you actually feel. So you can be shaken to death and still trust it. You can be uncertain of the possibilities and what's going to happen, but still trust. You can be overwhelmed by everything in this world and still trust. You see, faith is not the absence of fear, it's the s it's the simple decision to trust God anyway, no matter what. That's faith. You see, and then what trust does is trust redirects our focus. You see, fear might magnify the problem because fear is false evidence appearing real. But you see, trust, what trust does? Trust magnifies God. You see, when Peter walked on water, he was fine. Until he focused on the wind instead of Jesus. You see? Fear says, what if it all falls apart? But you know what trust says? What if God holds it together? See, you don't defeat fear by arguing with it. You defeat fear by shifting your focus to God and your trust. And you see, that trust only comes fry that trust only comes from uh building a relationship. You see, David in Psalms 563 doesn't say I trust in a concept, I trust in a plan. He says, I trust in you. You see, trust is knowing who God really is. You see, trust is knowing that God is faithful, trust is knowing that God is present, trust is knowing that God is a sovereign God, that he is a good God, even when this life isn't fair. You see, the more you know God, the easier it is to trust him. Some of y'all might be thinking, Well, B-Rah, what am I supposed to do when the fear comes, when the fear hits, when it happens? You're supposed to acknowledge it. Don't pretend you're not afraid. Because David didn't. David spoke truth over it. You have to speak truth over it. Say it very loud if you got to. God, I trust in you even in this. Shift your focus, your thought mentality, shift your whole environment. Worship, pray, read the Bible. You see, trust is not passive, it moves forward despite fear alone. You see, when I am afraid, Psalms fifty six three. When I am afraid, not if. If you're feeling anxiety, if you're feeling down, if you're in a season where fear is loud, just remember, fear is false evidence appearing real. And you don't have to wait silently until it leaves. You don't have to wait to start trusting God. You can trust God right in the middle of your fear, in the middle of your anxiety, in the middle of your worries, in the middle of your what you think is a downfall. What God may think is a learning curve. You see, it's all about mindset, it's all about trust, it's all about faith. Let's go to the Lord in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we come to you today, Lord. We thank you, Lord, for just giving us the opportunity to choose between trusting in you and letting fear win. And Lord, we just pray that you keep us in that positive, loving mindset of trusting you, Lord. We know, Lord, that uh this life is not gonna be easy. We know it's been said many times that it's not. We are children of God. Lord, we just pray the fear away and we trust in you, Lord. We trust in everything that you have done, everything that you are doing, and everything that you are going to do. Lord, I just pray that everyone listening today may find a healing heart to trust in you. So that when the fear comes, they know what to do, Lord. Lord, I pray everybody has a great weekend. I pray for your grace, Lord. I pray for your mercy, Lord, and most of all, I pray for everyone to trust in God. It's in Jesus' holy, heavenly name we pray. Amen and hallelujah. Well, guys, thank you very, very, very, very, very much. We're not gonna do um Bible trivia today. We'll back that up tomorrow. But um, guys, once again, I just want to thank you for tuning in. That's like a half of a quarter of a ton. Lord have mercy. Recently, me and my body and my spirit, we had a little sit-down, a little come to Jesus meeting. You know what I mean? Because in 1 Corinthians it says, Our bodies are the temples of the Holy Spirit whom we receive from God. Therefore, you should honor God with your bodies. That's why I teamed up with my good friend and spiritual mentor. You might have heard of him. He's an eight-time world champion wrestler by the name of Nikita Kolov. You know, the Russian nightmare. Well, Nikita and I have teamed up with the good folks at Trainot for some good advice, amazing health products, and great team and community. Your boy B Rob is even down in the 170s for the first time in over 30 years, and I feel amazing.
