We center on one essential practice that keeps faith alive: prayer that stays steady on good days and hard days. We challenge ourselves to seek God’s presence, not just His help, and to build a simple daily rhythm that changes us from the inside out.

• prayer as essential like air and water
• 1 Chronicles 16:11 as a daily pursuit not crisis prayer
• why David’s failures prove God welcomes dependent people
• the difference between seeking God’s hand and seeking His face
• prayer as relationship before request and presence before presents
• how prayer reshapes mindset when circumstances stay the same
• intentional seeking as a priority shown by calendar and screen time
• why people avoid prayer: distraction, tiredness, guilt
• a five-minute prayer plan: turn off noise, open Scripture, talk and listen
• three reflection questions to measure what needs to change

And if today's message encourages you, please share it with someone because I know we all need a daily reminder that prayer just is not a religious duty, but is an invitation to be in the presence of the Holy God because He loves you.
And if you do not have a relationship with Christ today, you better get right.

A Tribute To The Misfits

SPEAKER_00

Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the ones who see the world differently, who don't fit neatly into boxes, and refuse to live by someone else's script. You can quote them, you can disagree with them, you can glorify them, or vilify them, you can shake your head at their ideas or be inspired by their courage. But the one thing you cannot do is ignore them. Because they change things. They disrupt what's comfortable, they challenge what's normal, and they push the human race forward. Sometimes with loud revolutions, sometimes with quiet persistence that changes everything over time. They see possibility where others see limits. They dare to dream out loud when the world tells them to be silent. They take risks, they stumble, they rise again, and they keep going. Not because it's easy, but because they can't imagine doing anything else. These are the ones who remind us that every great leap forward was once considered impossible. So here's to them: the ones who won't sit down, won't be quiet, and won't stop until the world is different. Because they're the reason it will be.

The Cost Of Temporary Escape

SPEAKER_02

They said it would give me energy. They didn't mention the withdrawals. Summoner can steal your focus, your peace, your identity, your stall, and even your life. Don't trade your future for a temporary escape. Freedom starts with truth.

Welcome And Settle Your Heart

SPEAKER_01

Hello, we would like to welcome you to the food. So without further ado, here's B-rob.

SPEAKER_03

Hey guys, it's B-Rob, and I just want to welcome you today to the Food for Thought Faith Cast, and I'm so glad you joined me today. I don't know if you're working, you sitting on the porch drinking coffee, walking, whatever it is, just simply take a few minutes to look around and join with God. I just pray that the uh next 10 to 15 minutes just encourage you. Um just want to give you some essentials for today.

Prayer As Daily Essential

SPEAKER_03

Um essential thoughts. What's essential? Prayer. Prayer is just like water, just like air. Um if you look at first Chronicle 16 verse 11, it says, look to the Lord in his strength, seek his face always. Always. It's just one sentence, but yet there's a whole lifetime of wisdom there. I mean, let's be honest, most of us are good at praying when our lives fall apart, right? When a bad diagnosis comes, when the bills pile up, when the relationships ain't going good, when fear grips your heart, whatever that might be. We we know how to cry out and pray then, right? But you see, in that scripture, first chronicles, David was not talking about emergency prayer. He was talking about daily prayer, daily pursuit of God. The verse doesn't say look to the Lord when everything goes wrong, does it? No, it says seek his face always. Now let's dive into the meaning of the word always. Always. On the good days, on the boring days, even on the successful days, the painful days, the bad days, the glorious days. You see, prayer is not supposed to be a last resort. It's supposed to be a first response. And let me tell you, one of the reasons David is one of my favorite characters in the Bible, or men of God, is because the scripture does not hide his mistakes. David failed. He sinned, he made terrible decisions, he experienced loss, he carried regret, but yet through all of that, he kept running back to God because David understood something that most people miss. David understood something that a lot of people let go to the wayside. And I'm gonna say this. God isn't looking for perfect people, he's looking to perfect people, he's looking for people who want and seek Him. Guys, prayer isn't about pretending you've got everything together. It's an admittance. It's admitting I need you. It's admitting I can't do things without you.

Seek His Face Not His Hand

SPEAKER_03

I mean, ask yourself, what does seek his face mean? What does it mean to seek his face? Notice David doesn't simply say seek God's hand. Many people seek God's hand, many people want his blessings, his provision, his healing, his protection, his favor. And none of those things are wrong. But David says seek his face. Why? Because his face represents his presence. Imagine if your child only came to you when they wanted money. And a lot of them do, right? Especially in the teenage years. It starts getting to you, starts getting to your emotions. You start wondering, do you want me or just what I can give you? But a lot of times we approach God the same exact way. Lord bless me, help me, fix this. Lord open that door. Lord protect me. And then we pack up and we don't come to him until the next crisis. But you see, the God of all gods wants relationship before request. He wants relationship before request. He wants presence before presence. So when we seek his face, everything else falls into place.

Prayer Changes Us First

SPEAKER_03

You see, one of the biggest misconceptions about prayer is believing it's primarily about changing God's mind. But here's the secret: most of the time, prayer changes us. Prayer can soften a hardened heart, it calms an anxious mind, it replaces that fear with faith. Prayer reminds us who is actually in control. And think about something. A lot of times after praying, the situation hasn't changed, but your mindset changed. Your peace starts to replace panic. Hope starts to replace despair. Hope hold on pain ends. It starts replacing despair. Your strength starts replacing that exhaustion. You see, that's the power of spending time in the holy presence of the holy God. But here's the kicker.

Intentional Seeking Takes Priority

SPEAKER_03

Seeking takes a little effort on your part. The actual verse begins with an action word. Seek. Which seeking implies intentionality. Because nobody accidentally seeks. You don't accidentally build a marriage, you don't accidentally become healthy, you don't accidentally grow spiritual. Seeking requires priority. And guess what? You make time for what's important, right? And priorities are of importance. So if someone looked at your calendar, your screen time, your habits, would prayer be essential or would it be optional? Tis the question we all need to ask ourselves, right? Because we actually make time for what we value. Think about it. Do you miss a meal? You charge your phone every day, right? Without missing it. You take time every day. Usually people take time more than three times an hour to check their social media. So that must be important, right? You see, we've decided those things are important. But let me tell you, prayer is spiritual nourishment. It's way, way more important. Because let me tell you, if you neglect prayer long enough, you wonder why you're spiritually exhausted. I mean, why are you spiritually exhausted? Because you neglected prayer. You cannot stay healthy without working out and eating right, correct? You cannot stay spiritually healthy when you're starving your soul. It's impossible. But guess what, guys? There's always good news. God's not keeping score. Prayer isn't about impressing God. It isn't measured by eloquent words. You don't have to stop and do this long babbling presentation for 20 minutes. It's not measured by length. It's not measured by volume. It's not measured by perfect theology. A lot of times I just sit in silence because I don't know what to say. I mean, some of the most powerful prayers in Scripture were incredibly short. Quotes like, Lord save me, help me. I believe. Help my unbelief. Because God listens to sincere hearts. He doesn't listen to polished speeches. We're the ones that need polished speeches. We're the ones that are attracted to that.

Distraction Guilt And Fatigue

SPEAKER_03

So why do we avoid prayer if prayer is so important? Why do we struggle? These are good questions. Sometimes we get distracted. Remember, I told you the other day that Satan doesn't have to get you to not know the Bible. He just gotta distract you so you don't spend time in it. Sometimes we're too tired. Sometimes we feel guilty. A lot of times we think, well, I messed up too much. But guys, when we think that, we need to remember David. Because if God welcomed David after all his failures, he'll welcome you too. I mean, David killed a lot of people. He committed adultery. That's proof right there that prayer is not for perfect people, it's for dependent people. The people are dependent on God. The children of God.

The Simple Five Minute Challenge

SPEAKER_03

So I've got a challenge for everybody who's listening today. A challenge. Don't overcomplicate prayer. You don't need thirty minutes. All you need is five. Turn that radio off. Put that phone down. Take a walk in nature. Open your Bible. Just read one song. Then simply talk to God. Give him thanks. Confess things that are bothering you. Ask him for wisdom and courage. Listen. God's prayer is not a performance. It's a conversation. And the more conversations you have with the God of the all. The God of all gods, the deeper your relationship will become.

Three Questions To Measure Prayer

SPEAKER_03

So I'm going to leave you with three questions today. And we're going to do a scale of one to ten. First question: how essential has your prayer been in your life lately? Is it just as essential as air? Is it just as essential as water? How essential is it? Because it is essential. The next one's not gonna be a one through ten. What do you enjoy most about prayer? What do you what makes it difficult to pray? And then finally, what might need to change in your daily routine to create more room to talk to God? And don't do it because he's the man in your time. But do it because he loves spending time with you. So before I go today, I want you to remember today's verse one more time, 1 Chronicles 16, 11. Look to the Lord and his strength. Seek his face always. And I want you to notice something beautiful. David says, look to his strength. His strength. Not yours, but his. Because let me tell you, you don't have enough strength to carry tomorrow's burdens. But he does. You don't have enough wisdom for every decision, but he does. You don't have enough peace to withstand every single storm that comes your way, but he does. So don't just ask for the answer, seek his face. Because when you find his presence, you will discover his peace. And when you find his presence, you will discover his strength. And when you find his presence, you'll discover the one you've been searching for this whole time.

Guided Closing Prayer

SPEAKER_03

Let's go to the Lord in prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, I just want to thank you for inviting us into a relationship with you through prayer. Lord, please forgive us for all the times we've only come to you in the moments of crisis. Lord, please forgive us for neglecting your presence in our daily lives. Lord, just give us the strength and teach us to seek your face, not just your hand and your handouts. Lord, we ask that you fill us with a deep hunger for your word, your spirit, and your presence. Lord, we ask that when we are weak, you remind us to rely on you and you alone and your strength. Lord, we ask us, we ask you that when we are distracted, please just draw us back to you, draw our hearts back home. Lord, and we just pray that prayer becomes as essential and as natural as breathing in our everyday lives so that we can reflect the peace that comes from walking with you on a daily basis. And it's in Yeshua's matchless, holy, heavenly name we pray. Amen and hallelujah.
