Speaker 2:Hello everybody, Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. I'm your host, Millie M. Do you have questions about your future? Well, I have a good neighbor by the name of Reverend Charlene Hicks who might be able to help you out. How's it going, Charlene?
Speaker 3:It's going great.
Speaker 2:Glad to have you. We're so excited to hear all about you and your business. Tell us more about what you do, Reverend.
Speaker 3:Okay, well, currently I've lived in Cobb County for almost six years now, but I grew up in Buckhead in Atlanta and I've been in business for 47 years. I'm a certified astrologer, a certified medium, a minister and a certified hypnotist and I've worked for Fortune 500 companies. I've worked for the police department on missing murder cases. I've done haunted houses and exorcisms, like the house the Oakton house I did a house blessing on it where Sherman had his encampment. They were trying to sell the house for seven generations and they think it's haunted. But there's not much I haven't done. I've been on 300 radio stations throughout us and canada doing live calls where people call and ask just about anything. I was on fox news. You predicted the tsunami, put it japan, six hours before it did live on fox news, oh my god and um, I've read for about 30 000 people so far.
Speaker 3:I record my sessions and I send the recording to their email because there's a lot of things that will not remember and people have gone back and and listened to it and three or four years later some of the things that I told them years in advance happened and they're like, can't believe it and then they call for another appointment. But in Atlanta I've been a member of different organizations the Cobb Business Women's Association, the Marriott Business Association and I highly suggest if you have a business you should join it, because the myriad of businesses has some of the most exciting events every month. It's not just a luncheon.
Speaker 1:They have more.
Speaker 3:And I've been to every single one since 1985, as far as Atlanta and marketing your business, and that's the one that you should connect with. But anyway, in regards to my business, I do readings over the phone in person and I also do events where I do stand up. Clairvoyance of audience, where I go out and pick out groups and I teach classes in astrology to have online presence and since we had COVID and that was more popular for people just to do it on Zoom, so I've been doing that for quite some time now. But I answer questions about your future, about your relationships. A lot of times people have questions about their business and people don't know that you can do a chart on your birthday, but you also do a chart on your business and when I work for Fortune 500 companies, I look at the business chart and the CEO's chart and I can tell them if they're going to sell the business when it will sell.
Speaker 3:Example one of my top clients that came in. I didn't know who he was. I told him that, according to his chart, that it was October 3rd 2012. And I said that basically, you have a lot of money out because they have not renewed. And I said on the 26th of October there's going to be a hurricane that hits New York and that's going to delay your contracts from New York to come in until November, the 15th. So I said you really need to work on your money market accounts tonight. So he had 23 days in advance. And on the 26th Hurricane Sandy hit and that flooded out all of his contracts from coming until never in the 15th. His business makes $5 million a day, so how much money do you think that saved him? Knowing that in advance?
Speaker 3:That's the kind of stuff I can do.
Speaker 2:I was just about to ask how, because we often think of spiritual mediums as it relates to our personal affairs and our personal relationships, and I'm so glad you told that story, because my next question was going to be how does the spirit world connect with business? Because a lot of times we separate that, even in our minds of money is money, it's numbers and cents, as far you know, as opposed to what goes on in the spiritual world, what people don't get.
Speaker 3:and I've said it many times if you're an expert in what you do, it doesn't matter what your religious affiliation is. You will be hired, paid and dismissed for services rendered. Because all the billionaires want to know and even they don't have all the answers. I've read for four billionaires and I've told them things that they didn't know and they can buy. We're worth $9 billion. Things that they didn't know and they can buy. We're worth $9 billion. They can buy anything, but your chart shows otherwise.
Speaker 3:There's other things, people that come into our lives and as far as mediumship. When I've worked for the police department on missing murder cases, the people that have been murdered show me where their body is so it can be found, and I usually go through how they were killed and give me photographs of the folk that I get In my mind. I'll see photographs of where they need to look. I worked for the Stockbridge Fire Department helped locating a man's body who flipped off a back of a boat in 2004. And I described in detail to this woman that was a friend of his where the body was located and I went out on the boat with the fire department and showed him where to look and said if you don't find it in the next hour, go home, because he's going to float up on this latest water suction pump near the dam. And five days later that's exactly how it happened.
Speaker 2:OK, so tell me this, tell me this At what point did you realize you had a gift to see and to know things that were happening in the future, like, how did you get into this business? So two different questions. At what point did you realize you had a special gift? And then, at one point, did you realize you could utilize that in a business sense, to help other people?
Speaker 3:When I was 11, I told my dad not to go into business with these two men, but he already did. I said don't sign anything till you really read it, because this one man wants to take over your business. And I said make sure you read it. Don't sign it till you read it. The other man that they went into business with, I said he's not emotionally stable, he's got problems and it's not going to work out well, be very careful. And at that time my dad spent $71,000 with two other men on insurance, office equipment and everything Within two weeks. The guy that I told him not to trust it was named Mark I'll just say his last first name. He had him in papers and if he signed it my dad would have signed over all of his pre-existing insurance accounts to him legally. The other guy that was not emotionally stable had a psychotic break and back then you're sent to the Milledgeville, which is state hospital, and the other guy that wanted to sign it left the state. And guess who got to pay it off? My dad. And that was a lot of money back in 71, $78,000, a lot of money back then. Absolutely, absolutely. That was the beginning of it.
Speaker 3:So I started astrology when I was 11, but I had private tutoring when I was 18. I found someone that could teach me during the summer because there was no real classes in Atlanta In 1980, I took the exam at City Hall for seven hours and there's no computers. You either know it or you don't. And, like your chart, I have to write. I wrote 40 pages of information on that one person's chart astrologically what they do for a living, if they're going to be married, are they're going to have kids, where they're going to live, move to a foreign country. All that stuff shows up in the chart at birth. It's much more complicated than just your son's sign. People don't get it. So your chart shows the blueprint of the soul's journey here on earth. You have a spiritual body, a mental, emotional and a physical body, and it shows you specific points in time. The point of illumination may be getting an early start in life. Maybe it can be late, like Einstein didn't get his credit till much later in life.
Speaker 3:And that shows up in his chart at birth.
Speaker 2:Oh my goodness. So what are some of the myths and misconceptions about what you do? I'm sure there are many.
Speaker 3:Well, the main one is there. My competitors are on there. Well, the main one is there. My competitors are on there. They don't have any formal training. They'll say they're gifted or they're, but when you go to them they'll say it's one eighty five for a session. And they'll tell you that when you get there, your chakras are blocked and that you have a curse on you and that for additional twenty eight hundred dollars they can remove the lockers. And I tell my clients, sai Baba, jesus and Yogananda would never make that kind of claim. You know, no one can unblock your chakras and they'll never record a session, nor will you ever see these people in a TV show or during a radio show because they can't.
Speaker 3:They have to flip cards. They don't have any real talent. If they did, we see them on TV or on a radio show.
Speaker 3:Absolutely, and they don't record the session because they'll end up in court and be sued. I had cassette tape that was used in court for my client. Her husband confiscated it out of her purse. It was going to defame her by making her look like an idiot because she came to me. It ended up backfiring and she ended up getting a full custody of the kids and a large settlement because the jury voted in her favor. Getting full custody of the kids and a large settlement because the jury voted in her favor and I didn't know that for 16 years.
Speaker 2:I just found it out. Well, kudos to you for having that integrity to record those sessions, because you're confident in what you do. So let's just talk about, because you have so much of other people's, I guess, spiritual energy and things on you. What do you do for fun or what do you do to release that? Like, if you know, if you're working with people who you're dealing with missing cases and you're dealing with people who you have to deliver bad news to them from, whatever you see? Like, how do you release yourself from all that?
Speaker 3:Well, one I try not to deliver bad news unless it's a case where they know the person's already dead or something like that. But it's always leave with a sense of hope. As a minister, we were told always to give them a sense of hope, because people tell us bad news all day long. You know we're going to die on Tuesday, friday, you know, might as well Any minute we could be gone. So I tell people we need to look at there's a saying bless your yesterdays for what you think today is your tomorrow. My teachers say that all the time. It's really true, and also since covid we may find that some people don't speak to us anymore.
Speaker 3:You know people moved away and the mantra is I want my spiritual family to find me. I want more permanent people to come into my life in this day and help me get to this next leg of my journey. Whatever it is I'm supposed to do that I haven't figured out or finished. I want my spiritual family to help me get to this next point in time. And guess what? All these new people will show up. They'll be permanent people, they'll be very helpful and they'll be your tribe. So sometimes there's people in our life for a season and then they move away and then we're devastated because we thought they'd be around. But spirit can bring new people in and I want people to know that if you're you put the call out there, other people will show up and they'll be very helpful.
Speaker 3:But remember, when we're giving, we're in control, we're on the receiving and we're vulnerable and that makes us afraid that this nice person is doing something for me. But I don't have. I've never done anything for my, you know, but spirit sent them because you needed to help and you've done nice things for other people. And one thing that's really important that most people don't get they ask me all the time and I said I know that when I need the help it'll be there, because I help people throughout my life where I never paid for anything and I showed up, I was there because I said I'd be there to help make sandwiches for the homeless or whatever, because they needed it. I was committed to doing that. And in the in the future, when I needed help and it wasn't from people I help, someone came out of nowhere to help me change. That went flat and I've always had that because I know spirits watching. And so when you get rewarded, and it's not from the people no matter what religion you're in, there, there's that concept.
Speaker 2:Whether it's karma, whether it's uh, you know, do unto others where it's, whether it's reaping and sowing, there's always some concept of what you put out into the world.
Speaker 3:You definitely, yeah, and the other thing is, when I had a church, people come up and ask me all the time when they quit their business and just do what I do for a living and I asked one lady to be a volunteer and she goes well, I don't want to do that. I said, well, you have a really nice smile and we have to get all the tables and everything, the chairs, set up. We need some help here. She didn't want to make that kind of commitment. So the bottom line is without commitment, spiritually speaking, without commitment, there is no advancement greater than being of service. So when you're willing to commit to help that lady that can't get a mail out of her mailbox or mow someone's lawn, because you know you can help them in the future, when you really need some help, someone will come out of nowhere to help you absolutely, absolutely.
Speaker 2:Thank you so much. And is there um one thing? If you could name one thing that you would like for everyone to remember about you, or what you do, um could you tell our listeners that thing?
Speaker 3:that I'm there to help people. A lot of people are really scared. I've had people you know. One guy sent me a text in the middle of the night and I'd read from before and he was scared because he had lost his job and he didn't understand why he lost. He was going to commit suicide.
Speaker 3:And I talked to him on the phone. I said I don't want you to do this because it's not going to be easier. When you get to the other side, if you commit suicide, you're supposed to live to be 80. You're going to be earthbound until the 80th year shows up. So you know there are certain and I explained to him these things it's not going to be any easier. I said if I need to come meet you at McDonald's or something, I will get my car and come down. I don't want you to do this because you're a viable person. Perhaps they let you go from this job because God has something special planned for this, even better than this. Otherwise it wouldn't have happened. If it truly was for your best and highest good, then it would unfold. I don't want you to do this. I want you to stay here with me and keep moving forward.
Speaker 3:And after about an hour. He was okay. And that's some of the really profound things that I do that people just don't get. And as far as people on the other side, I know about your family and friends and people on the other side and they come in to help us they know what's going on with us. Most people don't realize that they really do keep up with what's going on with us from the other side. Einstein said energy is neither created nor destroyed. We have a spiritual self. Our soul, our personality and our spirit lives on in the hereafter. Our body goes away, maybe we just outgrow it, but we continue to evolve.
