E67: West Cobb Chiropractic is Bringing Whole-person Wellness to Families for Generations
The silent conductor of your health symphony might be closer than you realize. Kimberly Roberto of West Cobb Chiropractic joins us to reveal how your nervous system influences everything from immunity to organ function, far beyond the back and neck pain most associate with chiropractic care.
With nearly three decades serving the West Cobb community, Kimberly and her husband have pioneered a comprehensive approach to wellness through their "five essentials of health" – corrective chiropractic care, nutrition, mindset, exercise, and minimizing toxins. What began as personal journeys – her husband finding relief from debilitating migraines through chiropractic adjustments and Kimberlypursuing her passion for holistic nutrition – has evolved into a multi-generational practice where they now treat grandparents, parents, and children from the same families.
"Americans are suffering with heart disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer, autoimmune conditions," Kimberly explains, "and unfortunately, glaringly missing from the healthcare system is looking at the very system that controls everything in your body – your nervous system." She vividly describes how even the slightest misalignment can disrupt the vital communication pathway from brain to organs, creating far-reaching health consequences. This understanding transforms spinal health from a comfort issue to a cornerstone of overall wellness. For Kimberly and her husband, their mission intensified after both lost parents to largely lifestyle-related health conditions, strengthening their resolve to help others avoid similar suffering and "drag people out of the paradigm that's keeping most Americans stuck, sick, and suffering."

This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, the place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Millie M.
Speaker 2:Hello everybody, welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. I'm your host, millie M. Are you in need of relief for your back and great chiropractic care? Well, that might be closer than you think. I have the pleasure of introducing your good neighbor, kimberly Roberto of West Cobb Chiropractic. How are you? It's Dr Kimberly, correct? Yeah, okay, I want to make sure I address you properly. How are you?
Speaker 3:Doing well, thank you.
Speaker 2:Awesome. We are so excited to hear all about you and your business. Tell us more about West Cobb Chiropractic.
Speaker 3:Yeah, so my husband and I. He's the chiropractor and I'm a holistic nutritionist. We're a wellness clinic. We've been in the West Cobb area for almost 30 years now, and we focus on delivering what we call the five essentials of health chiropractic nutrition, mindset, exercise and minimizing toxins. So we really combine it all. And the cornerstone, though, of the business is corrective chiropractic care, where we really identify the root cause of people's issues and help their bodies function at 100%, and I'm sure you would agree that the health of Americans is not that great right now. Americans are suffering with heart disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer, autoimmune conditions, all of those things diabetes, obesity, cancer, autoimmune conditions, all of those things and unfortunately, glaringly missing is from the healthcare system is to look at the very system that controls everything in your body, indirectly or directly, and that's your nervous system.
Speaker 2:I have learned so much over the past month about that connection between chiropractic care and other things, and it makes so much sense because our nervous system is housed in that spinal cord. Making sure that is taken care of just has the potential to correct so many other things. So tell me how you and your husband decided to get into this field. How did you decide chiropractic care and holistic nutrition were the way for you?
Speaker 3:Well, I originally sort of piggybacked on my husband's mission. He knew from a young age he wanted to be a chiropractor because he suffered from debilitating migraines. Medications couldn't touch them and this was a natural solution for him. And then for me, my passion was more cooking and nutrition. So I became a holistic nutritionist and we just decided we wanted to start and raise a family here. And we've been here ever since and love to give back to our community. And just you know, we see people come into our clinic broken down, having all these symptoms, and really see them start to change things and start thriving. And it's just, it's such a blessing, it's amazing.
Speaker 2:Absolutely, and it looks like you all really cater to the whole person and not just one segment or another. So what are some of the myths or misconceptions about your industry or what you do in particular?
Speaker 3:Oh, wow, I mean I guess the biggest one is that chiropractic is relegated to neck pain and back pain, and it's so much more than that. Now. Chiropractors have an awesome track record with that because it works right and it's a drug-free way to address those things. But those type of symptoms are just like the tip of the iceberg. So like when my husband analyzes someone's x-rays or looks at what's going on, he knows that there's much more serious issue than just neck and back pain. Right, the interference to your nervous system is actually affecting your organs and your immune system and all of those things. So for your lungs to breathe, your heart to beat a wound to heal, messages have to go from the brain down that spinal cord out to your organs and tissues. And if there's any interference there whatsoever, even by the minutest degree or millimeter, then it's causing problems and it's much more serious than neck and back pain.
Speaker 2:So who are your target customers and how do you reach them? Is there a particular person that you look for for these services?
Speaker 3:Well, I guess and my husband would say this anybody with a spine and nervous system really is our target market.
Speaker 2:Even the babies.
Speaker 3:Yeah, secondarily, it's like people who want to take control of their health. That is our target market. Like we want to partner with people. We can't eat for them, we can't get adjusted for them, we can't exercise for them. We want people that are passionate about their own health and that really want to leave a legacy. So we've been in practice so long now. We see parents and their kids and now their grandkids and whole families, so we're basically a referral office. We love to educate people and share what we do. We do tons of free events like workshops and dinners. We even take people to dinner. So we kind of do it all. But anybody really is welcome in our clinic, for sure.
Speaker 2:Sounds like family, for sure. Have you ever considered doing a podcast Because I feel like so many people really need to understand that, when they've tried everything to heal their bodies or solve certain health issues and they're just not getting results, that chiropractic care might be the thing that they didn't think of, that might work for them.
Speaker 3:Oh, absolutely, it's this year starting a podcast of our own. You said this year yeah, we're really committed to it.
Speaker 2:Perfect, Because I mean 30 years of experience. You have so much knowledge to give. So, outside of work, let's put that on the table for a second. What do you like to do for fun?
Speaker 3:Oh gosh. Well, my husband and I do pretty much everything together. We live together, we work together, we've raised kids together, we're in the community together, but we do have our own interests. He's a lifelong avid athlete, so he spends a lot of time on the golf course now, and I am an avid reader and writer. I've authored several books and I love anything drawing, painting, arts, crafts, all of that. So we have those outlets, but we're not working all the time.
Speaker 2:Right brain, left brain couple. No, you guys sound amazing, so let's switch gears for a second. Can you describe a hardship or a life challenge that you overcame and how it made you stronger?
Speaker 3:Oh gosh, absolutely Well. Unfortunately, in the last five years I lost both of my parents. Those are whole long stories in and of themselves, but it was very difficult and it doesn't matter how old you are when you lose both of your parents and become an orphan. It's very difficult and it was very difficult for me and but it did steal my resolve and wanting to help people avoid some of the things that my parents had to go through and that our whole family had to go through. So I don't ever want my kids to have to go through the same thing. So it just kind of propelled me forward. And my husband is similar. His dad died in his early 50s and a lot of it was lifestyle related. So you know, it just really helps us push forward our mission and really helping people to be healthy as long as possible.
Speaker 2:Well, I always say that our ancestors live on through us, so I'm sure that I'm experiencing a piece of them by meeting you. So, kimberly, please let us know one thing you would like for our listeners to remember about West Cod Chiropractic.
Speaker 3:I think that just really more than a business, it's a calling for us and we really truly have a heart for people and we have, like, not just the information but the roadmap and the practical application for people to be successful and, honestly to help drag people out of the paradigm that's keeping most Americans just stuck and sick and suffering. So I mean that's really we want to help people leave that legacy for the future generations.
Speaker 2:What a beautiful mission. Thank you so much. Can you let our listeners know how they can reach you when they're ready to live their best life? How they can reach you when they're ready to live their best life? Yeah.
