Divine Timing
Waiting rarely feels productive in our fast-paced world, yet divine waiting might be the most transformative spiritual discipline you're overlooking. This powerful message explores why God's timing is essential in both life and career, revealing the hidden purpose behind seasons of apparent delay.
Discover the dual preparation that occurs during waiting periods: God simultaneously prepares us internally while orchestrating perfect circumstances externally. This divine synchronization ensures we're ready to receive and steward His blessings when they arrive. Many believers struggle with distinguishing between God's gentle guidance and the enemy's urgent pushing—that sensation of needing to act immediately. Learning to recognize this difference keeps us in perfect step with God's timing.
Through a compelling personal testimony about a major sales opportunity, we see how following God's specific timing and instructions—even when it stretched over many months—led to breakthrough results. The wisdom becomes clear: God knows precisely where He wants you to be and when He wants you to be there. His delays aren't denials but strategic positioning for your maximum benefit.
Beyond external outcomes, waiting renews our strength spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Scripture promises that "they who wait upon the Lord will gain new strength." Whatever season you're in—just starting your journey or well-established—learning to wait God's way positions you to receive His very best. Are you rushing ahead or resting in divine timing? The choice may determine not just what you receive, but your capacity to fully appreciate and steward the blessing when it arrives.
Greetings my friends, Tony Williams here. God loves us and because he loves us, he has the very best in store for us. However, to receive God's very best in life and career oftentimes requires us to wait, and the message for today is "Waiting for God in Life and Career, Waiting for God in Life and Career.
Speaker 1:Are you waiting for God for anything right now in your life and career?
Speaker 1:Sometimes waiting may seem like it's unproductive time, but waiting for God is never unproductive time.
Speaker 1:In fact, it can be the most profitable time when you're waiting, the way God instructs you to wait. Why does God cause us to wait or ask us to wait? Because God is typically doing several things. One, He's preparing us for the best that He has in store, so preparation is number one. Number two He's ahead preparing the way, so preparation for what's ahead is number two.
Speaker 1:So, God is using these seasons of preparation to prepare us and prepare the circumstance and the blessing ahead of us.
Speaker 1:He knows that if we get there ahead of time, we will not be in a position to enjoy the maximum blessing. We may not be able to really understand all that God wants to accomplish for us when we arrive there. So, there has to be a season where God prepares us for what He has in store for us when we arrive there. So there has to be a season where God prepares us for what he has in store for us, and a lot of times, if we don't understand what God is doing, we may become impatient, as if God doesn't see us.
Speaker 1:We may become impatient and rush ahead and try to make things happen in our way and in our timing. That's why God places this message on my heart to share with you. Timing is essential in life and career. God's timing is essential in life and career.
Speaker 1:God knows precisely where He wants you to be and when He wants you to be there. Listen to that. God knows precisely where He wants you to be and when He wants you to be there. So, if that's the case, we must rest in the wisdom of God's perfect timing, and God has promised to instruct us and teach us and counsel us in the way we should go, and when we follow God's instruction, we'll experience the best.
Speaker 1:Think about this For those of you who are believers in God through Jesus Christ. Think about a situation, a Satan where God has blessed you with something that was fantastic. Usually, you'll see that it wasn't necessarily immediately. There was a time that went by. What Tony was happening during that time? Well, sometimes, when we're immature in our faith, we get frustrated and we get eager to where is it? Why hasn't my promise arrived? Why isn't it here yet? But as we mature and grow in our relationship with God, we begin to understand that he has a timing and a process that he takes us through. And once we've experienced that a couple of times, we now can move forward
Speaker 1:with a greater sense of confidence and conviction that we're going to receive what God has promised at just the right time. And when we do, it's going to be fantastic.
Speaker 1:I can remember so many times when God had me wait waiting for a promotion, waiting for a relationship, waiting for a financial breakthrough God miraculously did. God graciously provided everything that he asked me to wait for just at the right time. And this is what I noticed and this is what I share with you. We get the maximum benefit and the maximum enjoyment when we do it God's way."wait So, wherever you are, my friends, in the world right now, if you're seeking God in a relationship for
Speaker 1:the right person, wait for God's perfect timing, allow God to give you instruction and guidance.
Speaker 1:Here's what I've noticed when we have a desire and we've placed it in front of God, sometimes the enemy, satan, will try to push us ahead, to get us out of step with God, and this is what it feels like. You may say well, Tony, "what Wow! does that look like! Well, this is how it feels. It feels like someone has their hand in the middle of your back and they're pushing you. You have this feeling inside of you that something is just pushing you, that you need to go do something. You need to go take an action, and you get this sense of urgency to go do it now. That's not of God, that's of the devil. What he's trying to do is to get you out of step with God, and when we get out of step with God, we invite confusion, and when we invite confusion, we delay the best things that God has in store for us. So it's important to recognize that push in the back is not of God, but of the devil. And when we learn to recognize that as an indicator that we need to pause and wait for God, then we begin to learn how to stay in step with God. And that's the beauty of having a relationship with God we can stay in step with Him and enjoy the process along the way, anticipating that His best is yet to be.
Speaker 1:Here's an example in my sales God career, I remember having a very large territory and a big sales opportunity He I felt like there's so much that I needed to do. I had a large team and there were so many things that we needed to get done and I was tempted to rush and start to take action. But God, through his Holy Spirit living on the inside of me, said wait, come alone with me, pray to me and ask me to give you the plan to pursue this opportunity. So I He alone with God and I asked him to show me the plan, show me the steps He's I needed to take, give me wisdom so I could lead my team accordingly and go ahead of me and prepare the way. And when I did that, my friends, over the next several months the team grew, the opportunity grew and the timing seemed to be delayed and delayed. But God was reassuring me that I was in step with Him and if I followed His plan, he would give me the victory. So this occurred, probably over five, six, seven months, but I stayed in step with God and then, on December we received the order Woo. Glory to God. It was the largest sales order I'd ever received in my career and I remember sitting in the conference room with a colleague and just rejoicing that God had given me this victory, a sales opportunity that took six, seven, eight months to come to fruition.
Speaker 1:But all along the way, god was teaching me to wait for His perfect timing and to move as he instructed me to move. This "wait what you want to do with your life and career. Wherever you are, you could be retired. You could be just starting. Wherever you are on your journey, learn this process. Seek God first and ask Him to give you guidance, discernment and counsel on when to take the step and how to take the step. And as you, let Him guide and direct your steps, he gets you to where you need to be, when you need to be there, and he's prepared the way. This is the beauty of waiting for God. Also, this is what God shows me.
Speaker 1:When God asks us to wait, sometimes it's just for an hour, sometimes it could be for a day, but whatever, when God says wait, he wants to use that time to refresh us.
Speaker 1:We rush so headlong into work He'll and life that sometimes He'll deplete ourselves and we get exhausted emotionally and He. God uses that time of
Speaker 1:waiting to refresh us. I received a beautiful gift from someone. It had an inscription on it, a scripture they that wait upon the Lord will gain new strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not be weary, they will walk and not faint. When we wait on God, he'll renew our strength, he'll restore whatever is missing"Wait in our lives and he will reward us for waiting. So, my Father, I thank you for encouraging us to wait, because when we
Speaker 1:wait, we're exercising our faith, we're showing you that we trust you and we're relying upon you to show us what to do. And you've never failed us and you never will. And I thank you for encouraging my brothers and my sisters that there is a reward for waiting. Wait for the Lord, be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. You say in Psalm 27: 14. In Jesus name, amen.
