Greetings, my friends.

God is constantly speaking. Hearing from God is a supernatural invitation and gift only God can fulfill.

What if clarity isn't hiding somewhere out there, but already whispering within you? We explore how a loving God communicates with us, why that voice is quieter than the noise around us, and how a few simple practices, like prayer, journaling, and quiet time, can help you recognize His voice more clearly. Drawing from Ephesians 1:13 and Psalm 46:10, we unpack the promise of the Holy Spirit, the art of stillness, and the practical steps that turn faith into daily guidance.

We start with the core question: why would God speak to me? Because the relationship is the point. From there, we trace common detours—chasing success, speed, and certainty—then show how seeking God first restores order and brings peace. You'll hear a personal story about learning to listen, the difference between an audible shout, an inner nudge, and external distractions, and how repeated Scripture can be a signpost. We talk through what discernment feels like, how to test what you sense by aligning it with Scripture and prayer, and how encouragement from God strengthens you to do what once seemed impossible.

This conversation is for anyone facing decisions at work, leading a team, raising a family, or fighting private battles with fear and hurry. Expect a grounded approach: quiet the rush, ask with honesty, write what you notice, and move one step at a time. For example, pausing before a big decision or journaling your thoughts can help you hear God's guidance. Along the way, we highlight three assurances of the Holy Spirit—presence that never leaves, power to do what God asks, and an inner witness that confirms God's promises. If you've been longing for direction, this is your invitation to be still and know. If it helps you breathe easier and trust deeper, share it with a friend, subscribe for more, and leave a review to tell us how you're learning to listen.

SPEAKER_00:

Greetings, my friends. Tony Williams here. God loves us unconditionally, and because he loves us, he is supernaturally communicating to us wherever we are in the world. So today, when you hear his voice, do not harden your heart, but receive him and ask him, speak, Lord. I want to hear you speak to my heart. And today's message is hearing God, his invitation and gift. Hearing God, his invitation and gift. You may ask, why would God want to speak to me? Because God created you primarily for the purpose of having a relationship with you. It makes no difference where you are in life in terms of socio, economic status, how popular you are. That matters nothing to God because God created everyone in his image. And because he created us in his image, he wants us to have a relationship with him. How can we have a relationship with our creator unless he's willing to communicate? I used to think that it was a mysterious thing that I had to do in order to hear the voice of God, but that's not true. God is always speaking. So wherever you are today, even if you're listening to this message, whenever you hear it, God is speaking to you. He's always speaking. And what is his purpose for speaking? To encourage us, to infirm up, to affirm us, to let us know that we are his children and that he loves us unconditionally. And with that awareness, it empowers us, my friends. It empowers us to do what seems to be the impossible, to trust God for what he wants to accomplish in and through us. And this is what God spoke to me today. When you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and when you believed in him, you were sealed with the promise of the Holy Spirit. Ephesians the first chapter, verse 13. You see, God makes us promises, and the promises are the assurance that what God promises, he will perform and provide. God is not a mysterious God. And that's what I want to share with you today. Communicating with God, hearing God. When I first thought about this, I was around 1994. I was driving down the throughway, and on the radio station, randomly going through the radio stations, I hear a person's voice, and he says, Are you listening to God? Are you listening to God? And I was startled. Is God talking? I thought to myself. And then that began a process of me seeking to know God. Today, say to God, Father God, I want to know you. Father God, I want to hear you speak and give me guidance and instruction for my life. And this is the primary purpose of God speaking, for us to know him, to have an intimate relationship with him. And from that intimacy with God, everything that we desire and seek for in life, God provides providentially all these things that are in accordance with his best for us. The world, I, before I knew God, had it backwards. I was seeking after riches, fame, fortune, material things, and all the things other than God. But God got my attention and he said, Tony, seek first the kingdom of God and my righteousness and all these other things I will add to you. That began to change my mindset. I began to put God first. And this is what God is saying to us. How do we hear the voice of God? Number one, we recognize that God is always speaking. Number two, we intentionally seek to hear his voice. We speak. Father God, I want to hear your voice. Lead me and guide me in what I'm dealing with and what I'm seeking you for today. And so with that asking, God always provides because he always wants us to hear his voice. And when we do that, we begin to discern God speaking to us. Well, you may say, Tony, well, how do you hear God's voice? Do you hear something audible? Like, Tony, no, you don't hear something audible. Remember, he said, when you receive the gospel, Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection, and asking Jesus to be your Savior and your Lord, something magnificent happened. At that very moment, the Holy Spirit of God came to live on the inside of you, wherever you are in the world, my friends, and I thank God for you. Those who listen to me, I thank God because God is using you to encourage me. When I see someone listening, for example, in Germany, I'm encouraged. When I see someone listening in the UK, in Europe, I'm encouraged because I know God is speaking to you through me. Encouragement. That's his purpose for speaking, to encourage us, to give us guidance and direction, to affirm us and to keep us built up for the battle. We're in a battle. We're in a battle with Satan, whose goal is to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus said, I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly. You may say, Well, what does this have to do with me? And I'm in a corporation. I have a business to run. I have a family to raise. It has everything to do with you. Because anything that you're involved in that's not illegal and that's not sinful, God wants to help you and God wants to guide you so you can receive and enjoy his best. So, what is God saying to you right now? This morning he said to me, I love you, Tony. I'm pleased with you, Tony. I'm using you, Tony. I have a wonderful plan for you, Tony. Continue to believe me. And this is what he's saying to you, my friend. Continue to trust me, believe me, and seek me. And you will find me when you seek me with all your heart. So God wants you to be encouraged today, my friends, that he sees you, he loves you, he is speaking. Just get quiet. And you may say, Well, Tony, give me another example. Or here's one that comes from the scriptures. Be still and know that I am God. Psalm 46, 10. God spoke that scripture to me four times on four separate occasions in four circumstances that were different. See, when you hear a scripture multiple times from different places, it's God echoing, continuing to speak. I want you to hear this. I want you to know this. I want you to pay attention to this. So, what is God saying to us right now by prompting me to give you Psalm 46, 10? Be still and know that I am God. God is in control of everything. God loves you unconditionally. You don't have to rush and hurry and feel like you have to make things happen. God is saying, you simply trust me, believe me, obey me, rely upon me, have faith in me, and I will make it happen. I will show you the steps to take. I will empower you to take them, and I will providentially go ahead and make the way for you. Be still and know that I am God. How do you be still? You simply get quiet. Find a quiet place and just say, speak, Lord. Your son is listening. Speak, Lord. Your daughter is listening. Speak, Father. I'm listening. And just get quiet. Sometimes you'll hear a scripture that comes to you like Psalm 46, 10. God is saying in that scripture, you don't have to be anxious, you don't have to worry. You just keep your focus fixed on me. Obey me. Rely upon me. Trust me. And continue to listen. And I will give you step-by-step instructions and I will give you joy because you'll know that you're walking with your Father, the creator of everything, in control of all things, that has a wonderful plan for your life. Oh my friends, I pray that you are encouraged by this message the way I'm encouraged by it. Listen once again, hearing God, his invitation, and his gift. The invitation is God is calling you into a relationship with him through Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. And in that relationship, he gives us the gift of the Holy Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit is God living on the inside of you. God lives on the inside of every soul on the planet that said, Jesus, I want you to be my savior and my Lord. Three things happen when that occurs. You're never alone. He's always with you, he never leaves you. He gives you the power to accomplish everything that he's given you through the promises that he gives. And third, he gives you the assurance that his promises will come true by allowing you to hear him speak from within. God doesn't speak from without, he speaks from within through the power of the Holy Spirit. You are sealed with the promise of the Holy Spirit. Where is the Holy Spirit? He lives on the inside of you. Listen to his voice. It's a quiet voice. God doesn't yell. That's why we have to be still and know that he is God. Father, my brothers and my sisters all around the world, may they be encouraged like I am encouraged, that you're speaking, and may they hear you, and may they receive direction and guidance, confidence and assurance that you're with them and you're working it out, and they will accomplish what you've sent them to do. In Jesus' name. Amen.
