Greetings, my friends.
Tony Williams here.
Welcome to SELDI - (Summit Evergreen Leader Development Insights).
God promises us "Rest". This message will encourage you and give you rest.
The weight of big goals that we set with God can feel holy and heavy at the same time. We open a different way forward: "rest" as a promise, not a luxury. Guided by the words of Jesus—“Come to me… and I will give you rest”—we explore how leaders, parents, and creators can stop forcing outcomes and start living from an intimate relationship with God. The mindset shift is simple and brave: trust the One who calls you to also carry you, and let your work flow from an "overflow" of His presence rather than pressure.
God gives us the details for what rest actually looks like in real life. It starts with priority—seeking God first, meeting Him in Scripture, and letting the Holy Spirit speak a specific promise into your current season. From there, execution becomes lighter, joyful, and more focused. You still plan, lead, and deliver, but you refuse the lie that God's love must be earned or results must be manufactured. Instead, you work from overflow.
God reveals the truth about the myth of busyness, naming it a tactic that distracts us from the Source of our strength and clarity.
When you are weary, burdened, or simply stuck in hustle mode, this conversation offers practical steps and strong encouragement: speak confessions of trust, carve a quiet space, and hold fast to the promises God highlights for you. Expect God to give you renewed peace, sharper decisions, and a pace shaped by grace. He who promised is faithful, and He will do it.
If this message lifts your heart, share it with a friend who needs rest today, subscribe for more weekly encouragement, and leave a review to help others find the truth that makes us free.
Greetings, my friends. Welcome to Cell D, Summit Evergreen, Leader Development Insights. Tony Williams here. God loves us unconditionally. And I would like you to repeat that. God loves me unconditionally. And because he loves us, and because he is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, he has all power, he has all knowledge, and he is everywhere at the same time. God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth. God loves you unconditionally. And sometimes when we set goals with God, the goals are so large that sometimes, if we're not careful, they begin to dominate our thinking. And we then begin to feel as though we have to make it happen. We have to accomplish these things. We have to do it. But God says, no, no, no, a billion trillion times no. He says, the one who calls you, God, Jesus, is faithful and he will do it. This morning I was asking the Lord, Lord, give me a word of encouragement for every person that you touch all around the world. And this is what God said to me. This is the message. Rest, a promise from God. Rest, a promise from God. How can God tell us to rest? Because he is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. He has all power. He knows you. He knows every thought that you have, every detail of your life, and he's everywhere in the spirit at all times. And he is your father. He told me, I love you, Tony. And he's saying that to you. Repeat it. I love you. Your name goes there. He loves you unconditionally. And this is the promise that God makes. Then Jesus said, Come to me, all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. You see, my friends, we sometimes believe that the goals that God helps us set, we have to make it happen. We have to go after it and we have to do it. That's not the way God chooses us to do the things that he gives us to do. He wants us to rest in him. What does rest look like? Rest looks like an intimate personal relationship with your creator. That's why he says, Come to me. He wants you to make him the priority of your life. He wants you to be his intimate friend. He wants you to know that he loves you unconditionally. He wants you to know that he has all power, he has all control, and he will help you accomplish the goals that he has helped you set. We have to rest in that. These are the promises of God. What promise has God given you, my friend? Think about it. What promise has God given you? He's given us multitudes of promises. And he has specific promises designed custom just for you. So get alone with God. Make him your priority. And let him speak a promise to you. He just gave us one. Come to me. All you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and this is his promise. I will give you rest. God wants us to rest. We can rest while we work. We work from an overflow of an intimate relationship with God. His Holy Spirit lives on the inside of us, and his spirit in us does all the work through us. And that's why we have this supernatural strength, this supernatural power, this supernatural knowledge and the presence of God with us everywhere at all times, in every circumstance, in every situation. We do not have to work to earn the love of God. Many, many, many people feel they have to work. They have to do things to earn God's favor and love. God says, you don't have to work. Jesus says, I've done all the work for you, and I've made all the plans for you, and I have all the provisions already provided just for you. He says, Cease striving and know that I'm God. Ha! My friends, be encouraged today. God loves you, and whatever the plans that God has helped you set for this year, proclaim them. Lord, I believe in you. Lord, I trust in you. Lord, I rest in you. Show me what to do. And the first thing he'll tell you to do is come alone. Get alone with him. Have time with him. Open the Holy Bible and let him speak to you. Let him give you a promise. And some people will say, I'm so busy. I have a multi-billion dollar corporation to run. I have five children that I'm taking care of. I have a quota that I have to meet. Oh, I have a business that I have to run. I'm busy, busy, busy, busy. That's a tactic of the enemy, Satan, to distract us and keep us from the source of our strength. The source of our strength, my friends, resting in God, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God, and allowing from that overflow of that intimate relationship with Him, we do everything. And so, my friends, the word of the Lord to us today is rest in me. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it. Are you burdened? Are you weary? He says, Come to me, give me your burdens, give me your weariness, and you will be refreshed. I will refresh your souls, your mind, your will, your emotions, physically and spiritually. This is what God has designed for us. We refresh ourselves by intimately focusing on Him. He is the priority. He says, seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all his righteousness and all these other things will be added to you. God wants us to make him the priority. He wants us to rest in him, and from our Holy Spirit in us, we do the work that he's called us to do. And we receive by faith and grace what he's already provided. He says, Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering. For he who promised is faithful. When he promises, I'll give you rest, he is faithful to give it to you. We have to claim it by faith. Wherever you are, my friend, take time to say, Jesus, I claim you as my Lord and Savior, and I come to you. Give me rest. And my friends, He's faithful. The one who's calling you, he will do it. Father God, we love you. We thank you for encouraging us. We thank you that we're your children, and then you're omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. And all the goals that you've helped us set, we do not have to accomplish them, and we can accomplish them in our own strength. But we rec we accomplish them by relying totally upon you in the power of your Holy Spirit. And from the overflow, we work and we rest. Let my brothers and my sisters receive this message. Let them rest in Jesus' name. Amen.
