The Power Of Your Tongue (words)! - Part 1
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Your life and career can stall for reasons you can measure and reasons you can’t. One of the most overlooked reasons is your own voice. I’m Tony Williams, and I’m bringing a direct biblical leadership insight that has challenged me for decades: Proverbs 18:21 says death and life are in the power of the tongue, and our words are never “just words.” They either reinforce fear and limitation or they release faith, courage, and movement toward what God has already provided.
We walk through what “speaking death” sounds like in everyday life and career language, and why phrases like “I’ll never get promoted” or “I’ll never get well” can quietly become a cage. Then we shift to a simple, powerful alignment practice using Psalm 19:14, asking God to make the words of our mouth and the meditation of our heart pleasing in His sight. This is not hype or denial, it is spiritual clarity that changes how we think, talk, and act.
I also share how to build a practical “promises” habit by opening the Bible, discovering the promises of God, writing them down, and speaking them with intention. We end with four steps that bring it all together: listening to God’s Word, believing God’s Word, doing God’s Word, and speaking God’s Word, including a vivid wisdom picture from Proverbs that makes Scripture feel alive and actionable. If you want Christian career development tools, faith-based mindset renewal, and biblical insights for life and leadership, this one is for you. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs encouragement, and leave a review with the promise you’re choosing to speak today.
Welcome And Weekly Insight
TonyGreetings, my friends. Tony Williams here. Welcome to Celdi, Summit Evergreen, Leader Development Insights. Thank you so much for listening. We share biblical insights to enable us and empower us and to engage us in life and career. What is the insight that God gives us this
Life And Death In Words
Tonyweek? It's the power of your tongue. Words. The power of your tongue is the message God gives us this week. Did you know that life and death are in the power of the tongue? In Proverbs 18, 21, it says, death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. The words we say will either be speaking life to our life and career, or they will be speaking death. Many, many people, especially those who have a trusting faith in God through Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, we do not understand the power of our words. And this is why this message is so vital, because God has given you a vision, God has given you a goal that He wants you to accomplish, and He has given us everything we need for life and for godliness. It's already ours. So how do we participate in this divine nature? We participate through the promises that God gives us in his word. God's word is alive. It always accomplishes that which he sends it to do. So who lives on the inside of us? The Holy Spirit of God. And once we understand who we are in Christ, our identity, God living on the inside of you and me, we then use that authority to speak life. Speak life to your life by the words that you speak. Speak life to your career by the words that you speak. Do you ever wonder why sometimes things don't seem to be going well? Check what you're saying. Check your speech, because death and life are in the power
How Negative Speech Traps You
Tonyof the tongue. Here's what it looks like when we're speaking death. I don't think I'm ever going to get a promotion. I don't think I'm ever going to get well. I don't think that they really like me. Those words are words of death. What we do when we speak like that, we're putting ourselves in cages. We create the cages that trap us by the words that we speak. God is saying that He has given us life and life more abundantly. So what are we to say? He has said that we may boldly say. This is what God is sharing with me. Tony, you say what I have boldly said. Why? Because he lives on the inside of me, he loves me unconditionally, and he's given me all power and authority. Once we understand this, my brothers and my sisters and those who are listening, once you understand who you are based on your profession of faith in Jesus Christ as your Savior and your Lord, you begin to think differently. You begin to talk differently, and you begin to act differently, and you begin to see the results of what you believe and what you speak.
Psalm 19:14 As A Daily Prayer
TonyHere's a scripture that I discovered years ago, and it was given to me by the mail clerk at the building where I worked. Psalm 1914. Psalm 1914. Let the words of my mouth, the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight. O Lord, my rock and my redeemer. Our words matter, brothers and sisters. Our words matter, my friend. Always seek to speak life through the tongue, the words that you speak. Begin today and monitor what you speak. Begin today and ask God and pray that prayer to God. Father God, I pray, let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight. O Lord, my rock and my redeemer, pray that prayer to God. Because when we pray that prayer, God will answer it, and then our speech and our words will become aligned to what God wants to accomplish, what He has already foreordained that will take place. But we have to participate and do what only we can do. God will not arbitrarily make things happen for you. Contrary to popular opinion, God does not arbitrarily just open doors for you. What God does, he gives you the authority and the power. You and me the authority and the power to use his words and to speak into our life the things that God has already providentially provided. How does he do that? Through the promises of God. His word contains all these promises that he's made. The promises are God's declaration to you, to all of those who put their faith and trust in him, that when we proclaim God's promises, we are speaking in the authority of God, and his word always accomplishes that which he sends
Speaking Promises Over Career Vision
Tonyit to do. What does that look like, you may ask? Well, here's how it looks for me. Here's one situation. Many 2016, the Lord gave me an idea to begin to share biblical insights with young career professionals. And I would share those insights. And over the years, the Lord has enabled me to continue to do the same. And now through a company called the Celdi Company, I can share through this podcast, Celdi Podcast with Tony Williams, biblical insights for life and career. I can boldly say what God has said. God has given you power, love, and sound mind. That's yours. What is this power? The power lies in the words that you speak. Think about the words that you speak in your life and your career. Are they words that are based on the promises of God to you? Many people don't know what the promises of God are. They do not open their Bible. For me, my friends, it started in 2012 and before that, when I discovered that God had magnificent promises that He's made for me and for you. So I had to open the Bible and read and discover the promises that God made for me. He wants you to do the same thing. I have a book, a little one-subject notebook called God's Promises to Me. And in that book, there are promises that range from my health to my children, my family, my wife, my life and my career that span all the things that are associated with my life. Why do I keep this promise book? Because I know God's promises are alive. And when I believe and speak those promises over my life and career, God guarantees that they will come to pass. Isn't that amazing? There's only one person who can guarantee anything, and that's the living God. He told me just this past week when he was challenging me but encouraging me that he's going to do something magnificent with the Celdy Company. He said, Tony, I am the Lord, God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me? I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me? Why was God saying that to me? He wanted me to know that with God, nothing is impossible. When we are believing and following God's guidance and direction for our lives, my friends, nothing will stand in the way. There may be obstacles, but we, with the words that God gives us to speak from the promises that we have, we speak those promises and God uses that to pave the way and open the door. I've been practicing this, my friend, for decades. And I know that God is faithful. He always keeps his promise. And this is why God wanted me to share this message: the power of your tongue, your words.
Four Steps And Wisdom Practice
TonyThere are four things that God brought to my attention. One, listening to God's word. Two, believing God's word. Three, doing God's word. And four, speaking God's word. Listening to God is essential for us to walk with God. How do we listen to God? We pray. We read the Bible. And from the Word of God, He speaks. Just this past day, I was speaking with a leader. And I was demonstrating to this leader a promise in God from God in the Word. And it's about wisdom. And wisdom is personified in this chapter in the Bible, Proverbs, where he says, Wisdom, wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom. And it says, Wisdom stands before you, and in her right hand is long life, and in her left hand riches and honor. What does that look like? God brought a picture to me of an open Bible, and in front of me was the open Bible. And I was seeing in this open Bible, in the right hand was long life, in the left hand was riches and honor. Why is this significant? Because that's what God's word says. And God was saying to me, When you put my word to action and believe what I say, you will experience what I've promised. What has he promised through wisdom? And we all of us need wisdom. And so ask God. He says, if anyone lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, and he gives it liberally. Wisdom is personified in that scripture that I just shared with you. And as a result, I envisioned wisdom standing in front of me. But in this regard, I saw the open Bible and I held the open Bible in my hand. Try it. Find your Bible and just open it to a passage of Scripture. Let's try it for Proverbs. Long life is in her right hand. In her left hand are riches and honor. Proverbs the third chapter, verse number 16. Long life is in her right hand, and in her left hand are riches and honor. I held the open Bible and I just envisioned that the open Bible was wisdom personified. In her right hand was long life. Which hand do you receive long life in? And in her left hand were riches and honor. Which hand do you receive the riches and honor that God promises when we embrace wisdom? You see, my friend, the word of God is alive. And this is one of the most significant truths that you'll ever hear. When you speak the truth of God in the authority of who lives on the inside of you, the Holy Spirit, heaven and earth responds to the spoken word of
Closing Prayer And Part Two
TonyGod. And my friends, we're going to continue in part two. Father God, may the words of our mouth and the meditation of our hearts be pleasing and acceptable in your sight, and your word not return void, but accomplish everything you send it to do for my brothers and my sisters, and those who are listening in Jesus' name. Amen.
