"The Power of Your Tongue (words)!" - Part 2

Greetings, my friends.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue. Those who love it will eat the fruit thereof.
Your mouth can either magnify the problem or magnify the promise. We talk through a simple but challenging idea: God’s Word is not meant to stay on the page. Meditate on Scripture and speak God’s promises out loud, and your words become a practical tool for courage, clarity, and steady leadership in real life.
We ground the conversation in Joshua 1:8 and unpack why “the Word shall not depart from your mouth” is a daily blueprint, not a one-time verse to underline. We connect Bible meditation to decision-making, faith at work, and the mindset that keeps you from spiraling into negative self-talk. If you’ve been asking what to say when the pressure rises, we explore how the Holy Spirit can bring the right promise to your remembrance at the moment you need it.
We also share a true story from 1 AM: the sound of a leaky faucet and the temptation to panic. That small moment becomes a leadership lesson on pausing, praying, and proclaiming rather than reacting, so you can practice steadier responses in your own pressure moments. You’ll hear a practical approach for building your own promise notebook, tying specific Scriptures to your goals, your vision, and the challenges that feel impossible right now.
Take time to get alone with God, open your Bible to Joshua 1:8, meditate on it, then choose the promise and speak it over your current situation today.
Share this insight with a friend who needs steady hope, and walk in the abundant life that is ours through asking, believing, and receiving in faith.

Welcome And Core Message
TonyGreetings, my friends. Tony Williams here. Welcome to CELD, Summit Evergreen, Leader Development Insights. Thank you so much for listening. God loves you unconditionally, and He's always speaking, guiding and encouraging us on our life and career journey.
The Power Of Your Words
TonyLast week, God was speaking to us about the power of your tongue, your words. And this week he continues to speak about the power of your tongue, your words. What we say has a magnificent and glorious impact on our lives. If we're speaking the words of God, and God has given us the ability and the authority and the know-how to speak life to our life and our circumstances, to speak life to the challenges that we face, and to speak life into the people that we love and meet along the way. How is that so? Because He gives us the Word. The Word of God, the Bible, the Scriptures are the promises of God. They are alive, and God says, My word will always accomplish that which I send it to do. And so God is saying, My child, speak the promises that I've given you in every circumstance, in every situation that you meet along your life and career journey. So we must know what the Word of God says. We must meditate in the Word of God. We have to open it and read it and take time to allow the Lord to speak to our hearts, and it becomes a part of us.
Joshua 1:8 As A Blueprint
TonyThis morning I was meditating in Joshua the first chapter, verse 8. And in that book he says, This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, so that you may be careful to do all that's written therein, and you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. God gives us the blueprint there, my friend. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth. He is saying we must speak what we read in the Bible. We must speak the promises that God gives us from the Bible. The promises of God are vitally important because it's through those promises that He gives you and me that we can speak them and they become the dynamic force that changes circumstances, the dynamic force that accomplishes all that God intends it to do, the dynamic force that enables us to achieve and receive the abundant life. We do all this through the spoken word of God. And so we must take time to meditate, to understand what the spoken word of God should be. It should be the promises
Start A Personal Promise Book
Tonyof God. I shared with you last week. I have a promise book. It's just a one-subject notebook where God has given me specific promises for my life. I call it my intimacy with God, His Promises to Me book. It contains the things that I speak in my circumstances, in my life and career, that God is saying, This is what I want you to say when you encounter these kinds of situations. So, my friends, what promise do you have from God for every goal that he's helped you set? What promise do you go to when you face a challenge and a circumstance that seems to be impossible? God wants us first to respond by looking to him and then listening to what he says and then speaking the promise that he's given you for that particular situation. So wherever you are, whatever you're facing right now, God says, go to the Word, find a promise, believe what I say, and proclaim it. Speak it over your circumstance, speak it over the situation. It could be something in your work, it could be something in your family, it could be something that God has given you as a vision. Whatever the circumstance, whatever the situation, God has a promise for you in it.
The 1 AM Leaky Faucet Moment
TonyHere's what happened to me. One o'clock this morning, I get up and I hear this running sound. It's like running water. And earlier this week I'd gone outside because it seemed like there were pools of water assembling at the base, the foundation of our home. And I was thinking, oh, I pray it's not a leaking faucet. Maybe it's just a gutter that needs to be replaced. And during a deluge of rain, I went out and I said, Oh, I think it's a leaking gutter. Oh, thank God. I don't have to cut through walls and break out pipes and do all that kind of stuff. But this is what happened. In the middle of the night, I discovered there's a leak, and I think it's a faucet. And this is what I was tempted to do at one o'clock in the morning. I was tempted to go outside with a flashlight and investigate the problem. But God spoke to me. Tony, what can you do at one o'clock in the morning about a leaky faucet? I said, I can't do anything. He said, Right, go back to bed. You know what I did? I went back to bed and I slept like a baby. It's amazing. And I didn't get up this morning to rush outside to try to figure out what to do. I instead took time to do what I normally do. I got alone with my Father in heaven and I began to meditate in his word. I began to tell him how thankful I am and how joyful it is to be his child and how great he's been and wonderful he is and how he is magnificent and wonderful beyond description. How much I love him. And what I love most is my salvation and my intimate relationship with him, and that the Holy Spirit of God lives on the inside of me. And then in the middle of that, God said, You know what I'm going to do up with that leak, Tony? I said, No, Lord, what are you going to do? The leak, the leaky faucet turns into a shower, a deluge of blessings. The leaky faucet turns into a shower, a deluge of blessings. I said, Wow, great. And you know what triggered that? It was something that I had meditated on. And it said, Drip down, drip down, O heavens, and let the clouds open up and rain down righteousness, and let salvation spring forth, and let righteousness and salvation grow together, because I, the Lord, have created it. That drip, drip. God says, I can take this challenge and I can multiply it into a fantastic blessing, and that's what I'm going to do. Watch me work. So that's what I'm believing, and that's what I proclaimed over a leaky faucet that I heard at one o'clock in the morning. How could I do that? Because I believe in our God. I believe in the promises that He's made, and I know that all that He promises, He
Holy Spirit Guidance For Decisions
Tonywill provide. This is what He's saying to you, brothers and sisters. He's given us a vision. You a vision that we set back in January. He's given us goals that we've set, magnificent and grand goals. Along the way, you're going to face challenges. You're going to face situations where you have to make decisions. God is saying in every one of those, rely upon me. Pause and ask me, Lord, what do I do? And the Holy Spirit inside of you. Remember, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God, lives on the inside of every person that says, Jesus, I receive you as my Savior and my Lord, and I put my trust in you. When you say that, when you make that declaration, He comes to live on the inside of you. And his Holy Spirit is there to guide us, empower us, and show us the way to go. And so the Holy Spirit will bring to your remembrance a promise of God that you can proclaim on the situation to give you light, to give you understanding, discernment on what you should say and how you are to respond. Remember, life and death are in the power of the tongue, and they that love it will eat the fruit thereof. Do not let negative words come out of your mouth. Do not let words trap you, but let your words empower you and free you to live the abundant life that Jesus died and rose from the dead to secure for you. I have come that you may have life and have it more abundantly, is what He's promised. His promises are in the Word of God. What promise are you believing, brothers and sisters, for the challenges and the opportunities and the vision that God has given you? I encourage you with all my heart to build a promise from God book for yourself. I have one, a one-subject notebook, handwritten promises that God has given me as I meditate in His Word. And those promises come to me whenever I need them, whenever I take the time to pause and say, Father, what do I do now? I don't fret. I don't worry because I know who my God is. And you want to know who your God is. He's grand, magnificent, omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. And most importantly, he lives on the inside of you. Most importantly, he's given you magnificent promises that you can call upon, that you can boldly proclaim. Believe what God has said and then boldly speak it. Believe what God has promised you and then boldly speak it, my brothers and my sisters. Believe it and proclaim it, and it will be realized. You will receive it. This is how God works, because he's walking with us. God delights in your prosperity. God wants the best for you as his child. He wants you to have a joyous journey walking with him. And this is what we're going to do. Continue to proclaim the promises of God. If you don't have one associated with your goals and your vision, open the Word of God and just say, Father God, as I read your word, give me promises that I can claim for every circumstance, every opportunity, and every situation. And I want to be like Joshua and do what Joshua did in Joshua 1.8. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may be careful to do all that's written therein. So then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have, I will have good success.
Final Prayer And Charge
TonyI pray this prayer, Father God, and I proclaim it for every listener, not only for them, but for their loved ones, the clients they serve, and the people they meet along the way. It's all for your glory that we ask this thing, these things, and I believe it in Jesus' name. Amen.
