"How to Receive Help from God." - In Life and Career. Part 1

There have been many times in my life when I felt weighed down by responsibilities, ambitions, and the demands of a busy schedule. Yet, through decades of walking with God, I have learned that I am never alone in carrying these burdens. God Himself desires to help us, and the help we receive truly comes from the Lord, just as Psalm 121 promises. I remember vividly a moment on a mountain peak when God made this Scripture come alive for me, transforming an ancient verse into a personal assurance that spoke directly to the pressures I faced. God's Word is living and active today, just as it was then, and He remains faithful to meet us right where we are.

God’s willingness to help us in every area of our lives—including our careers—is not just a hope, but a proven reality I have experienced time and again. It all begins with a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, receiving Him as Savior and Lord, and welcoming the Holy Spirit to dwell within us. Over the years, I have seen firsthand how faith shapes leadership, whether raising children, providing for my family, pursuing excellence in business, or fulfilling God’s purpose in retirement. The key is to live each day aware of God’s presence. When you know He is with you, you no longer strive in your own strength, but draw on the true spiritual power He provides.

Let us be practical and honest as we seek to live with alignment and integrity. When God is pleased with what we do, He pours out His blessing and gives us the strength to accomplish what He has called us to begin. The Holy Spirit, whom Jesus called our Helper in John 14:26, is always present to guide and empower us. Lord. Our message for today is how to receive help from God in life and career. How to receive help from God in life and career. Did you know that God wants to help you? Omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God, the creator of heaven and earth, desires to help you. So if that is the fact, and it is, how do we receive help from God? The scripture that comes to me is I lift up my eyes unto the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 121, verses 1 and

2. I was on a vacation recently, and I was on the top of this mountain, and I looked far into the distance, and that scripture came to me, hundreds and hundreds of miles and miles away from home, all alone at the top of this mountain, and God spoke to me. Tony, where does your help come from? And this is what he's saying to you, my friend. Wherever you are in the world, God desires to help you. And I want to share with you three messages that will help you receive help from God. How do you receive help from God? Regardless of where you are, regardless of your age, if you've asked Jesus to be your Savior and your Lord, He has promised to help you, to help you in your vocation, to help you in retirement, in the things that He's planned for you to accomplish, to help you raise your son and your daughter to be successful in life, to help you to achieve outstanding results in your business and your vocation. God wants to help you. So whatever you're doing, if it is something that you can ask God to help you to accomplish, He's saying, I will help you. And more so than that, He has already ordained in advance good things that He wants you to walk in for the rest of your days. So God is saying, I want to help you. And so we're going to, over the next three weeks, talk about how to receive help from God.

Step One Relationship With Jesus

The first step in receiving help from God is having an intimate relationship with Him. And that begins with saying to Jesus, I want you to be my Savior and my Lord. And we've talked about this many times, but that's the starting point. When we receive Him as our Savior and our Lord, to all who received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God to all who believed on His name. So when you say yes to Jesus, a magnificent thing happens. The Holy Spirit of God comes to live on the inside of you and me. I want the best for you. I love you. And God is saying to me, love never fails. And when you want the best for your clients, your family, your loved ones, your friends, God says, that's when I'm able to move. My motivation is love, not to receive from you, not to ask you for anything other than to give what God's given me. The truth. And the truth will make you free. And here is the key truth: God wants to help you. And why does he want to help you? Because he loves you. You're God's creation, you're his child, you're his son, you're his daughter, and he has wonderful plans for you. In order to accomplish the magnificent things that God has ordained in advance, the good works that He's prepared in advance for you to walk in, we have to receive His help.

Awareness That God Is With You

So, my friends, the first step is to be aware that God wants to help you. Be aware. The awareness of God's presence energizes us, empowers us for the work that He's called us to do. Whether it's the mother, a single mother raising a son and a daughter, whether it's a man or woman in the workplace, in the corporate setting, with goals that God has helped you set for your company, your business, your assignments that He's given you, whatever it may be. In retirement, the goals that God and the good things that He wants to accomplish, now that you're no longer in the workplace, but He still has wonderful things that He wants to help you to accomplish. All these things are available to us because God loves us unconditionally. And as I was preparing for this message, God confirmed to me three times that this is the message. I lift up my eyes into the hills. Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. God who spoke the world, the universe into existence, saying, I will help you. Well, how does God help us? The number one thing that we first have to realize is that God wants to help you, Sean. God wants to help you, Veronica. God wants to help you, Sharon. God wants to help you, Rich. Wherever you are, Lauren, Ashley, all around the world, Philip, God wants to help you. And he says, I see you and I know you and I will help you. And how does he do that? Because when we said yes to Jesus, the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit comes to live on the inside of us. And this is a revelation for me, and I want to share it with you. You never have to do anything in this life alone. You never have to do anything in this life alone because God has promised to help you, raising children, leading a corporation, achieving the goals that God has helped you set. Whatever the opportunity may be, God is saying, I'm here to help you. And so we must be aware that God desires to help us. And when we have a conscious awareness of who God is and how he wants to help us, we then begin to rely upon God is here to help me. God is here to help me deliver this podcast. God is helping you, my friend, in your work. God is helping you, my friend, in the assignments that He's called you to do. He's helping you. We have to be aware that God is with us. God is in us to help us to accomplish it. So wherever you are, whatever your job may be, see it as an opportunity for God to springboard you into something even greater.

Doing What God Can Bless

But we have to accept his help where we are. If you're doing anything that God can bless, then God is willing to help you. The key is am I doing something that God can bless? God blesses things that He would smile upon. He doesn't bless immorality. He doesn't bless things that we go off and try to conjure up on our own. He blesses the things that He leads and guides us to start and enables us and empowers us to finish them. That's the key. We have to be doing things that God can bless. Illegal things, God can't bless. But the things that God says I can smile on these, he will bless. I want to leave you with this insight that the Holy Spirit of God inside of you empowers you to accomplish everything. So be aware this week, be aware this day that the Holy Spirit, the helper, is in you. In John the 14th chapter, verse 26. I encourage you to look it up. But the helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. The Holy Spirit in you empowers you to accomplish everything that God's called you to do.

And Father God, I thank you for my brothers and my sisters and my friends that are listening all around the world. I pray that you will show them that you want them to rely upon you. Make them aware that their help comes from you in their vocation. Make them aware that their help comes from you in raising their family and providing for their families. Make them aware that you're there to help them. Whatever the challenge, whatever the need, the wayward child that's away, that they are desperately wanting to come to you. Whatever it is, you're willing to help them. I will lift up my eyes unto the hills. Where does my help come from? My help, all my help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. My brothers and my sisters, believe it, proclaim it, and receive it. In Jesus' name. Amen.
