In this episode, we talk about the thing most Christians avoid: evangelism.
Not the fake, forced, religious version. The real kind.
We share why we feel God is saying NOW is the time to speak up, what evangelism actually looks like in everyday life, crazy testimonies from our own experiences, practical ways to start conversations, and the uncomfortable truth about why so many believers stay silent.
This episode might challenge your comfort zone.
It might expose fear.
It might make you rethink what following Jesus actually means.
If you’ve ever thought:
“Is evangelism even for me?”
“What if people reject me?”
“Why does nobody talk about this honestly?”
…then this conversation is for you.

The Wake Up Call On Evangelism
SPEAKER_0097% of Christians do not preach the gospel. The 3% that do it, majority of them have been saved from zero to two years.
SPEAKER_01If you feel led to do a better job at sharing your faith, it's probably because God has already given you everything you need to do it. The devil comes to accusation and says, You're not gonna evangelize, you can barely keep yourself in check.
SPEAKER_00On average, before someone accepts Christ, they have to go through 16 touches, meaning 16 different opportunities and moments for them to accept Christ before they actually accept him. Sometimes when we're evangelizing, when people need prayer, don't be praying in tongues. Don't be praying things they never asked you for. Don't be saying weird things like, oh daddy God and stuff. Just pray. Pray a simple prayer for them. We complicate it, we do too much. He's gonna do something, you know? And be confident, whether it's in that moment or maybe it's when they go home. But like we need to have faith that he's gonna do it.
Show Intro And Opening Prayer
SPEAKER_01Welcome to Sharp Podcast. I'm your co-host Jay. And I'm Frank. And here we go. We have a beautiful devotional for you guys. It's gonna be found in Romans chapter 12. Uh, in case you guys don't know, this is Frank. Yeah, I'm Jay. We started a podcast strictly talking about the scriptures and how to apply it to our everyday lives. Um, we're just two regular people. Frank is a school teacher, I'm a police officer. And uh yeah, let's get into the word. Let's pray before we get into it, though. Heavenly Father, we thank you because you've been so good to us. I pray you continue to help us in every single way, direct our thoughts, our behaviors, direct our minds towards you at all times. While we get in this word, I pray you open the eyes of our understanding. Help us learn something today. Help us apply it to how we speak, how we think, how we treat people in Jesus' name. Amen. Alright, so Romans 12. Yeah. How many verses am I reading, Frank? Um, let's read 10. Ten verses for me. We're doing uh NLT, I think. Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's right. And
Asking God For Divine Appointments
SPEAKER_01you know, before we read, can I say something? Say something. Can I just say something? You know, I don't know, something's been happening this summer. Maybe it's because people are outside more, but it seems like almost every day, and I've been praying for this. Every day I've been given an opportunity to talk to somebody about brain. Why? Has that been happening to you too? Kinda. Just about every day. I'll give you one example. One example before we start. I I woke up like at midnight and I go to bed at 10 o'clock. So that's abnormal for me. I'm I'm in bed by 9:30. Yeah. Just on my phone, maybe reading something, just getting ready to go to bed. At midnight, I'm up. I don't know why I'm up because I stopped eating at 5 o'clock. I'm ready to sleep. I'm not digesting. I'm not nothing. So I say it's beautiful outside. I'll go for a walk. I go for a walk. I'm like, why am I walking? I don't even like walking. I don't walk the dog. I don't walk for at midnight. I just go for a walk. Put my shoes on. Everybody in the house is up. I go for a walk. I
Midnight Walk And Bus Stop Tears
SPEAKER_01walk for about 20 minutes and I'm talking to God. I'm saying, whoa, what am I doing up? I need to go to sleep. I wake up at 4 30. I need to go to sleep. I start walking back home. There's a man at a bus stop bench bawling his eyes out. I know the bus stops running at 9 o'clock around here. I'm like, oh man, he ain't waiting on the bus. I said, that must be why God got me up. Anyways, I knew immediately when I saw that man bawling his eyes out, just crying, crying. Just a grown man, just crying his eyes out. I went up to him, I just put my arm around him. He started crying on me. And in that moment, I introduced myself. I said, Man, I think you're the reason I'm awake. He said, Yeah, this happened to me, my girl and my family, and this is happening. And I let him just pour his heart out as to what his difficulties were. And I got to share Jesus with him. Yeah. Just random. That day I didn't, I didn't get the opportunity to speak to Jesus. But for some reason, I guess my prayers are being answered so good that I got woken up right before the next day, right before midnight, to speak to Joseph and get him born again and try to get him back on the right track and just plant a seed. Yeah. And I just got to tell people that if you're a believer, no matter how big or small your faith is, oh, there's people out there waiting for you.
SPEAKER_00That's so true.
SPEAKER_01There is people out there waiting, willing to listen and hear what you have to say about how Jesus saved you. And we just gotta look for him.
SPEAKER_02That's yeah.
SPEAKER_01You don't even have to like beg for it. Just ask God, you know, show me who I need to talk to. Yeah. I don't want to waste my time arguing with somebody. Just show me who's gonna listen to me. Sure enough, he's gonna show you.
SPEAKER_00No, that's
The 97 Percent Problem
SPEAKER_00that's amazing. We didn't even talk about this, but that's that's what that's exactly the word that's been like shared with me this whole month. Really? I've been telling, I've been telling, I've been telling my wife, I've been telling um the gig this guy mentor, I've been telling my pastor. Just all within this past week, I told him, I said, man, for the at least the last month, you know, God speaks to us. And and we just need to we need to listen. Right, right. And it's been evangelism.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And I I'm telling you to the point where this is the second, well, last week no, but two weeks before this past Sunday, I heard two sermons back to back on basically evangelism one-on-one. And then um and then just the other day I was talking to the the this guy, a mentor, and he was telling me how he just he encountered someone at work and he shared the gospel with them. And I told him, you know, like in a in a in a way of transparency. I said, Man, God's been really speaking to me about that. Because I don't know about you, I know you do it more frequently than I do. But there I think there's times in a in a Christian's life where we like continue to walk with Jesus, but then we kind of slow down on sharing the gospel, like actually sharing the gospel with our words and being intentional because we can do it with our the way we live, but we we need to go, like it's clear. He says, Go make disciples of all nations, right? And so I was I've been telling people to hold me accountable. I'm like, man, God's telling me like I need to be more mindful. And so I've been hearing just refreshers on practical ways to do it. But it's it's funny that you mention that because like that is exactly what God has been speaking to me. Wow. Evangelism.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's confirmation for me. Yeah, I need to do that more. But that's been my prayer.
SPEAKER_00I heard this. I'm sorry to cut you. Go ahead, no, because it's it's been I've been passionate about it. In one of the sermons that they were teaching on evangelism, uh, and I actually wanted to show you, um, show you this, but um, but the guy who said it, he said that 97% of Christians do not preach the gospel. They don't share. And then he said the 3% that do it, they're Christians, right? They're walking in the faith, they've been a Christian for a while. Uh the whole church body, okay, 97% don't go out there and actually share the gospel. He said the 3% that do, majority of them have been saved from zero to two years. Right. That hit me. I was like, man, because I'm a part of that 97 sometimes. I definitely have been. So I was just blown away by that because I agree. I think this summer is very um, I think it's it's marked this summer 2026. It has been. Yeah, it has been. We went to uh when I was in Dallas, I went to the World Cup game. And um, I don't know why, but I we we ended up going to a Japan-Netherlands game. I went with my brother-in-law, and I bought a Japan jersey and I customized it, and on the back I put Yeshua. Because there's over 80,000 people going to this stadium. Right. And they're from Japan, Netherlands, and then some are all over the world. But I'm like, man, what better way to just like I I I really feel like I really feel like the the desire, I mean it's scripture, the desires of the desire of the nation is Christ, you know, and and man, I'm like, that would that and for me though, it was like I want this to be something that would cause people to be like, oh, you know, who is that if they didn't know like the player name or whatever. Yeah, it's not a player, right? Right that ain't no player. That ain't no player. That ain't no player, but yeah.
SPEAKER_01Wow. No, it's that it's uh I'm glad it's been on your heart because it's been on mine. And
Complacency And Fear Of Sharing
SPEAKER_01uh obviously, if people from zero zero to two years are the ones doing the majority of sharing their faith, that means that what happens throughout throughout time happens in any activity we do in life, we get complacent. Yeah, and complacency is going to rob everybody of everything that helps you progress in life of joy, it's gonna rob you of rewards, it's gonna rob you of productivity, it's gonna rob you of uh creativity, it's gonna rob you of everything you were you were meant to use to grow in this life. You know, because by the way, you don't get this opportunity once you get to heaven. No, there's no evangelism once you get up there. You don't need evangelism. Everybody can see the king. Okay, he can speak for himself at that moment. But down here is the only time ever where we get the opportunity to say, yo, Jesus changed my life. I don't I don't I don't have a responsibility to prove it to you, but I just wanted to tell you that because it looks like you're looking for answers. Jesus is an answer. He saved me from this, this, and this. That's all I have to tell you. Yeah, and can I just say it's literally that simple for me? I don't know about all the courses that are out there, which I'm sure are phenomenal, and I've heard many of them, but when I hear the Holy Spirit tell me that's the guy I need to talk to, my conversation is never, ever more than five or ten minutes. Yeah, ever. Sometimes it's 30 seconds, by the way. Sometimes I like, I just have a feeling I'm supposed to tell you this, I'm nervous, and they let me talk. Yeah, they let me talk. Uh I'm always shocked. I'm always shocked by it. But I think if you feel led to do a better job at sharing your faith, it's probably because God has already given you everything you need to do it. Yeah, you've reached a level where you are mature, grown, productive, ready to share the gospel. And once you get the opportunity, the Holy Spirit's leading you to do it because you're already ready. Even though you don't feel ready, he knows you're ready. Even though you don't feel worthy, he knows you're ready to share the gospel. Um, and so I think you just have to trust that he knows you're ready. Yeah. And then once you do it, after you get a first under your belt, you're like, oh my God, I don't even know what just happened. That went by so fast. It was easier than I thought it was. I was less nervous than I thought I would be. You know, and so we just have to take that first step.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And all of a sudden, you understand the scripture where Jesus says the harvest is plentiful, yeah, but the workers are few. Plenty of harvest out there, but there's a lot of people just don't want to take that first step. Yeah. Like, hey, I'm sorry to stop you. Yeah. That's the first step. That's it. If they stop and listen, you're good. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Um, that's so good. Uh maybe we just talk about evangelism for this episode because it there's actually a verse in Romans 12 um that I think uh was kind of a catalyst to this, um, in my heart at least, and we'll read it. But I do want to say, I want to go into evangelism because I think that's something that we can all, I think as a believer, we all need to do this, you know? Yeah. And I think that there's times where people are like, I'm not an evangelism, that's why I don't do it, you know. They tell the pastor, you do it. Exactly. And then scripture You do it, Fray. You got the podcast, you evangelize. And what it what did, excuse me, what did Jesus say, right? One of his last words, right? All over, all over. And um, and I think that that's one of the things like we get wrong as believers. Now, I I do feel like when I'm talking to you about the importance of what you're saying, like just making ourselves available. That that's been my prayer.
You Are Not The Savior
SPEAKER_00Like, I was telling I was telling someone that one thing right now that I I feel like is uh it's easy to conversate with homeless people because you know when you're driving, they're always asking. And so that I love those are opportunities. But I was telling them that sometimes, and maybe people can relate, um, but sometimes we feel like I don't know, okay. That's the way I feel. Sometimes I think that I need to save everyone, and it becomes overwhelming. Okay, you ever get to that point? Because I feel I feel like we get to extremes where sometimes we don't share at all for whatever the reason is, or sometimes like we want to share to everyone. Right. And so for me, it's I've gone to the place where I'm like, Lord, I I want to do this, and I because you're calling me to, and I I I need to be true, like this is the gospel, this is good news. And I'm like, but I need you to make like divine appointments. I I don't need them spectacular, but when I'm out in public, like, and I and I have been doing this intentionally, like praying when I'm at a a store, a mall, a restaurant, you know, if there's someone, Lord, like make them clear to me, put them on my heart. Yeah, because I I think that that's one of the one of the one of the great ways to do it, because we can become we can be overwhelmed. Like you there's so many people, let me go, you know, it's I I don't think, I don't think we because when we do that, we burden ourselves. It's true. Um, and I love what you said. There's two approaches that I like to do, and one of them is just find something about them that you can start a conversation with. That's one thing I'm really good at is I conversate with a lot of people, right? And so, you know, for me, I feel like I'm hard on myself because I I'll be honest and be like, no, I haven't gone out to just the world and been like, hey, like let me tell you about Jesus as often as I should. But when I'm when I'm around a big group, I'm always conversating with people. And the reason I say I'm like, I guess I can say that I am evangelizing, but sometimes it's like people who are Christian or people who have backslidden. But I I want to be like, I want to go out like in public, where I don't, you know, and but I do have these conversations and I I know like seeds are planted and you're you're igniting fires, like what's that scripture? Fan fan the flame, right? Timothy. So yeah, so but I I'm getting to the place where I'm like, Lord, like I I wanna I wanna go out in public to someone I don't even know. Right. And the Holy Spirit, you know, I think a misconception Christians have is that we we know we receive the Holy Spirit, but the Holy Spirit gives us boldness and we have power, absolutely. And it's not for us, it's to advance the gospel, right? Right, the kingdom and just the gospel, man. The gospel is good news. Absolutely.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. We have to, and and this is an obligation as we keep repeating, it's something where the Bible makes clear we're gonna get to a certain point where we are obligated, commanded to share our faith. It does say make disciples, but I think the beginning of that command, like the baby stages, is just sharing your faith. He didn't say you had to share it perfectly, he didn't say you had to be eloquent, he didn't say you had to be educated. Okay, Moses was a stutterer, called to lead three million people. Paul said, I know to some of you that I don't speak eloquently, but I did not come in eloquence of speech, I came in power and of the Holy Ghost. In other words, God's leading my words. You know, if they sound simple to you, that's not you. God's leading my words. Some of these people are gonna get saved. And I and I tell you what, from a personal testimony of my own, for some reason, and I think God has always done this to humble me. Every sermon I've preached, every prayer I've given to other people, every um just like reaching out and doing evangelism, people always remember the stuff I don't even remember thinking was gonna be good. Yes. Like I'm like, you that's this part of my sermon you remembered? You didn't get the juicy part, the part I studied for, you didn't get the part that I researched and learned in Bible college, you didn't get the part I felt God spoke to me 12 years ago. No, they got the part that you didn't even remember, which tells me that God is using the things in me that I just skip over. In other words, what I think is important out of my own words doesn't even matter. No, God is gonna use our words. And I and I think that's the important thing to remember because one of the big things you and I have been emphasizing is there's an insecurity in evangelizing because the devil comes to accusing and says, You're not gonna evangelize. You can barely keep yourself in check. You know, you're not gonna you barely talk to your siblings about Jesus. But even though we have that insecurity, we have to develop a trust that wherever the Holy Spirit's leading us to speak to or to speak to whom, He's got, he's gonna make your words carry weight. Even if you say something that you think is foolish, the Holy Spirit can make that foolish word impactful to somebody. That's it. Okay. It doesn't matter how gifted we are, that insecurity, and as you get experience, that insecurity will start to like fade a little bit. But um, point number two, me and Frank, I've noticed an observation that we've been talking about. We want to evangelize so well and so perfectly, and and we both have insecurities in our evangelism that we've been praying consistently for God to help us do it. We know we can't do it on our own. And I think that's something a lot of people who would like to improve could take away.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Have you been praying about your sharing your faith for the opportunities, for the right words, yeah, for Him to make it clear, you know, for you to accomplish. I don't know, set a go. I want to talk to one person a week. That's 52 people a year.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Imagine when you get to heaven, you spoke to 52 people a year about your faith. What an impact that's gonna have. Um here's something more dramatic before you go. I heard on YouTube that um, you know, there's like this podcast called We Need to Talk, really famous podcast. Uh-huh. And it's always talking about these people's visions and dreams. This one girl had a vision about the end times, and she said the rapture happened, and she went to the pearly gates and she went before the throne of God, and she said in that dream, it was so vivid that she was able not to see God's face, but his feet like on the throne.
SPEAKER_00Bro, someone just told me they had a dream. Just like that? Uh that seeing Jesus' feet. Oh, wow. That's pretty amazing. The continuum.
SPEAKER_01So that's pretty amazing. No, no. So in the dream, she gets judged, and obviously Jesus intercedes for her and says, I covered her with her blood. I know that she's accepted me, and she gets let in.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But then Jesus tells her, Just wait right here before you get let in. And she's like, Wait, why am I waiting on? She gets scared. Like, is she in timeout? In the dream, she's like, I get so concerned. Like, what am I not being let in? Am I being sent to hell? I don't know what's going on. And she said, All of a sudden, she saw other people going before the throne, and she started noticing a pattern that they were being sent to hell. And then after a few people, she noticed, Oh my god, these are people I know. She started looking at the face, she's like, That's Michael from work. That's Sandra that I always get my Starbucks order from. And then finally, one of them turned to her and said, Why didn't you tell me this was gonna what it was gonna be like? Right after they were sentenced, they one of them just finally told her, like, what were you thinking? And I just this it's such a dramatic, vivid imagery, but it's it gets the point across that everybody we get the opportunity to speak to, and it doesn't have to be overwhelming, you should just take it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you should just take it, just take it to keep your conscience clear. Exactly. I want to ask you uh on the flip side to that, because you know, I I I serve in church and I right now I'm overseeing youth ministry, young adults, and you know, someone had recently recently said, and it's common, I've hear I hear it a lot, not only m with my my youth, right? But when they have friends that don't believe in Jesus, you know, they take it on themselves and they're like, Man, their blood is on my hands, you know. Um I'm sure you've heard that before from other Christians. And and I felt that because I think we have the sense of urgency and we understand the the the power and impact of eternity, right? Because it's forever. So you're gonna be with the Father, you're gonna be separated. But I think sometimes as people, we um that burdens us in a bad way. Because then we think that we need to be the savior, and if they deny it or they don't accept it, like we gotta keep going, keep going. But I think what you said is so important that we just plant the seed, right? Right? It in scripture, what does it say? Some plant, some water, right? But it's God that makes it grow. Exactly. And I think that that's an important thing as we're talking about evangelism, and I'm hoping that this helps someone, is that we just need to plant a seed or we just water it. And you don't know what you're doing in that moment.
SPEAKER_01In other words, the entire burden is not on you and I.
SPEAKER_00No, it's not. Okay. We just do our part. That's it. That's it. Because And that's a relief. Yeah, it is. I heard in in one of the sermons, because I heard two just about evangelism,
The 16 Touches Perspective
SPEAKER_00okay? And in one of them, the guy said that there has been a study, and I don't know how they figured this study out. He said the same thing. I don't know how they got this study, but I heard this study. He said before, on average, before someone accepts Christ, they have to go through 16 touches. Meaning 16 different opportunities and moments for them to accept Christ before they actually accept him.
SPEAKER_01And 16 touches could be anything. 16 touches could be somebody coming up to him at a grocery store, a video, seeing a shirt of Jesus loves you, seeing a billboard, seeing a television program at grandma's house. It could be all that stuff. A podcast. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Wow. That's pretty fascinating. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I kind of want to go, I want to go into because I I think I think that is what we should be talking about today.
SPEAKER_01Um forget Romans 12. Romans 12 is good. Romans 12 is good. Sorry. Um Romans 12 is good.
SPEAKER_00The other thing, because I think this can be very good takeaways on evangelism, and maybe we'll do another episode on evangelism. But you know, I said that one of the first things when coming to evangelize, you you mentioned some really
How To Pray For Strangers
SPEAKER_00good points. We're we're mindful, we're praying. The burden's not on us. We're just doing the work of Christ that he sent us out to do. Holy Spirit helps us, the Holy Spirit guides us. Um, I said one of the practical things is we can just talk, find, find common ground, right? Right. Give a compliment. Being real, being authentic, you know, uh, being genuine in what you're doing. But the second thing is sometimes you can just approach a person and say, How can I pray for you? Don't even ask them, don't even ask them, can I pray for you? Right. Because that gives you the gives them room to say yes and no. But when you tell someone, how can I pray for you? Right, well then they can still, you know, they'll tend to think of something. Um I think of, you know, when I when I first started walking with Christ and I accepted Christ, there was um, we had like an outing at church, and I was with a friend who was a little longer on the way with Jesus, and so he was he was big on evangelizing um in the season. And he we were at like a park and there was this old lady sitting on the bench, and I guess he noticed her. And I think this is this is how like God works in us, right? You go out somewhere, you notice someone, but it's intentional, like God puts them on our heart. And so he noticed this old lady and she was struggling to walk, and so he probably noticed her for an hour or two, and then eventually he was like, He felt like, Man, I need to go pray for her. Like, God put her on my heart. So he asked a few of us, because there was other youth there, and he was like, You who wants to go, like, come with me to go pray for her, and you know, very few said, Yeah. And you're in a a group of over 30, 40 Christians, no one wants to go do it. I was in the faith. I was like, Yeah, I'll come with you. And so me and like two others went with him, and he led it because I was so brand new to it. And he all he did was he went up to her, it's just started conversation with her. A nice old lady. I don't even think her English was that good. And eventually he said, You know, can I can I pray for you? I noticed like you're you were limping, your ankle's bothering you. And so she was like, Yeah, like she was so thankful. And you know, we he just prayed. He he was like, Hey, let's just put our hand by her ankle. I think he touched her ankle and just said a simple prayer, you know. And after that, he said, check it, you know. And she got up and she was walking, and you can see like the instant um progression of just healing in that ankle. Like she wasn't walking with a limp, she was so happy. That was just a miracle right there, right? Of that lady's ankle being healed. But I say that because there's some takeaways in that. Sometimes when we're evangelizing and people ask you, like you just said the other night, when people need prayer, don't don't be praying in tongues, don't be praying things they never asked you for. Don't be saying weird things like, oh, daddy God and stuff. Just pray. Pray a simple prayer for them. If if they want you to pray for their math test, they're so stressed, they're a college student. Pray for their math test. You know, I think we complicate it, we do too much. Sometimes we might not even have faith that God's gonna heal, but he's gonna do something, you know? Right. And and be confident, whether it's in that moment, or maybe it's when they go home, but like we need to have faith that he's gonna do it.
SPEAKER_01Agreed. Yeah, agreed.
Keep Evangelism Simple Like Jesus
SPEAKER_01I don't I don't think any I could go as far as to say, I don't think anything God is asking us to do ever is complicated. Yeah, it's simple, it's clear, it's concise. As a matter of fact, there's people in the Bible that are used time and time again as examples, like Saul, yeah, who was gifted, big, handsome, king. And he thought that was gonna get him his kingship to be glorified. Yeah, he made a mistake, and guess what? God told him he said, obedience is better than sacrifice. In other words, it was so simple for you to just do what I asked you to do. It was simple. And you wanted to complicate it. Every time we evangelize, concise, simple is the way to go. Yeah. And to be honest, if you look at the way Jesus was evangelizing, I don't think it was complicated at all. Well, miracles are comp they seem complicated to me, but they're not complicated. Not complicated to God, you know. The words we're supposed to use, they should never be complex. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that's a Jesus is a great example. I don't remember many or any encounters when he was reaching out to people where he did anything that was complicated.
SPEAKER_01Never. He, first of all, let's just agree that the majority of the people in the world are not theologians. Yeah. Jesus spoke theologically to a few people, but those people were already mature in the faith. Like Nicodemus, a priest, a Pharisee. He said, Wait a second, don't you know the scripture says it? Yeah. He didn't say that everybody. You know, people came to him, said, Can you heal my daughter? Yeah, I'll come with you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Look at that simple evangelism. I'll come. I'll come pray. Man on the man that was laying on the mat, couldn't walk. Yo, Jesus, can you heal me? I'll heal you. Yeah. Simple. Not complicated.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know. Please, cuz my daughter has died. Okay, I'll come. You know, simple responses. And I think you don't have to be a pastor. You don't have to be an evangelist. You don't have to be a prophet. Yeah. You don't have to look in somebody's eyes and tell the future. Oh, God is telling me that. You've got a great retirement coming up for you. We don't need that. We don't. Okay. Well, I don't think God needs that. I mean, I I'm getting to know God a little bit throughout these years, and I don't think he's looking for that all that much. But he is looking for willingness and he is looking for people humble in heart.
SPEAKER_00Which yeah, I guess the last thing I would want to say for this episode regarding evangelism is what I'm noticing too is that a lot of people know of God, but they don't know him. So they know of something that was passed to them or something they've probably learned incorrectly, something religious. But when you actually talk to them and share with them who Jesus really is, because you know him personally, right? You you he's your Lord, he's someone you you seek after. Um it's amazing to see how how much hunger comes from that. You I don't know if you you've ever talked to people and they just have like this understanding of of what God is like and what Christians are like and what church is like, but then you living and and walking in it, right, and receiving revelation and being guided by the Holy Spirit and being a a born-again believer, when you share with them who Jesus really is, it's almost like every time they're like, I I need to get in the word. I open it. I didn't know him like that. Yeah, I thought I did, but I didn't know him.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I mean, it's a different energy. I mean, people can tell. I don't know about you, but at my job, for example, right? You I get the great opportunity to see people's rap sheets, yeah, which is like all their criminal activity throughout the years. And it's so fascinating to me that you get to see some of these people's first arrests when they're 18, 19, 20, to their most recent arrests where they're 40, 45, 50. And can I just tell everybody listening? When I get to see the picture of an 18-year-old who's first committed a crime to the face of a 50-year-old who's been led a life astray down drugs and alcoholism and criminal activity and abuse, it's almost like you can see the trauma. You can see the evil, you can see the troubledness, the stress, the damage they've gone through throughout the years in their face. I'm here to tell you the same is true with good. People can see the goodness of God on your countenance, the Bible calls it. When you come up to me and approach them, half of them are gonna be like, Yeah, they're just gonna listen to you because of the way you look. You got a different energy about you, which is the Holy Spirit. And and if that's the last thing you have to share, the last thing I have to share. Okay, here it goes. This is the last thing I want to add, and I'll let Frank finish it.
A Clean Witness Before You Speak
SPEAKER_01But I wrote this here. Frank, do you see that there? It's what does it say right there? This is George, this is for you. This is for you. And I wrote it for me. This exclamation exclamation for, and it says, it's Proverbs 25, verse 26, and it says, like a muddy spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked. Now, what what did I write that's for me for? Because it's basically trying to say some of the even before you start sharing your faith, the some of the best evangelism is just you living a righteous life.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Before the words start coming out, before God says you're in a really mature place for you to start sharing, the righteous man who doesn't give way before the wicked, basically, you standing out business with Jesus. Yeah, you're a solid fountain for people to go to.
SPEAKER_02That's good.
SPEAKER_01Like a muddied spring or polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked. You don't want to be a fountain that's dirty. You want people to be able to come to you and see Jesus and drink from Jesus, and you don't want to be polluted or muddied spring. That is, I wrote that for me because there's sometimes I say some stupid stuff in front of people who are my co-workers. There's sometimes I've done some foolish things, and I've been praying for God to help me with my reputation, with my witness, with my behavior, so that I'm not wishy-washy. You know. Um, that's the last thing I want to add.
SPEAKER_00This verse goes exactly with that. It does? It does, yeah. Because you said living a righteous life, right? Yes, absolutely. So this is Romans 12,
Romans 12 Offer Yourself
SPEAKER_001. Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God. This is your true and proper worship. I was a verse very well known to me, I've read it multiple times, but I was rocked by this part where it says, to offer your bodies. And in another version, I think it was NLT, it said, just let. And I think that's exactly what what your verse is saying. In order for us to let God, right, use us and to live a way that is righteous, it's not in our own strength. It's all because the Holy Spirit is helping us. The Holy Spirit is leading us, and the only thing we can do is to offer ourselves. That's good. That's it. Just let him.
SPEAKER_01That is good.
SPEAKER_00That's it. And I I think we we get that wrong so often. Is we think of how can I, you know, how can I do it? What can I offer? What how how do I have to be strong for this? What's the next book I have to read? Should I finish the Bible this year?
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00You want to live a righteous lifestyle? Well, just start with just offering yourself to God.
SPEAKER_01That's simple.
SPEAKER_00That's it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00You want to evangelize? Just offer yourself to God.
SPEAKER_01Make yourself available. Offer, yeah. Hey, you need me, you need me for something today? Yeah, right. Did you I'm gonna pray and read, but if you need anything else, just let me know. Yeah. You know? That's good. That's good. Well, I didn't go as planned, but that's what you call being led by the Holy Ghost, I guess.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, we'll have Romans 12. We'll have uh we're trying to do podcast devotional. Yeah. Podcast devotional. But yeah. All right, perfect. Yeah, thanks for joining us. Wanted here, we're praying for you guys.
