In this message from the "Back to the Basics" series, we explore the biblical practice of generosity and how it flows from the character of God Himself. Through personal stories of God's provision and Jesus' teaching in Matthew 6, we discover that God is a generous Father who provides more than enough for His children. Because God is generous, we do not need to hoard our resources, be controlled by money, fear the future, or live consumed by worry. Instead, encountering the radical generosity of Jesus transforms our hearts from a scarcity mindset to a mindset of abundance, enabling us to freely give as we have freely received. Generosity is not limited to money but includes our time, talents, relationships, possessions, and opportunities. The early church modeled this kind of sacrificial generosity by sharing what they had and caring for one another's needs, creating a vibrant community that reflected God's love. As followers of Jesus, we are invited to ask how the Holy Spirit is calling us to be generous today and to become channels through which God meets the needs of others. The central truth is simple: God is generous, so I can be generous too.
