The Key Insight

Your nervous system is your physiology,  the body, the container. Your emotional system is your psychology, the ocean of feelings held within that container. Most women are working hard on one and bypassing the other entirely. And if your nervous system is stuck in a stress response, your prefrontal cortex has gone offline, which means all the therapy, mindfulness, and emotional intelligence in the world can’t land properly.

Body first. Then the brain. The container, then the ocean.
