Prepare to have your assumptions challenged about what your feline friends truly need for their wellbeing. Our conversation with Dominique from the popular Instagram account Miss Ivy Cat reveals why grass isn't just for dogs—it's a vital part of creating a thriving environment for indoor cats too.

Dominique shares the heartwarming story of adopting her "soulmate in cat form," a special needs shelter cat named Ivy who waited patiently for the right person to come along. What started as a personal photo diary to avoid bombarding friends with endless cat pictures unexpectedly blossomed into a platform with thousands of followers, allowing her to advocate for special needs pet adoption and proper feline enrichment.

The real revelation comes when Dominique explains how Fresh Patch transformed her cats' indoor experience. "There's not a lot that can go wrong when you have fresh, organic, good grass at an animal's disposal," she notes, describing how both Ivy and her second rescue, Olive, immediately took to the real grass with pure joy. Beyond simple enjoyment, the living grass provides cooling effects during hot weather (crucial since cats often don't drink enough), opportunities for natural foraging when treats are hidden among the blades, and a sensory connection to their wild instincts that artificial turf simply cannot replicate.

For apartment dwellers concerned about outdoor dangers like traffic, predators and pesticides, Fresh Patch offers a solution that Dominique's neighbor summed up perfectly: "Every cat should have this. Even if they don't need it, they need it." As we prepare to unveil an exciting new cat-specific product at this year's Cat Con in Pasadena, we invite you to rethink what enrichment means for your indoor cats and consider how a touch of the natural world might just bring out their wild side in the safest possible way.

Thanks for the support everybody and yeah, let's dive into it right Absolutely Want to know about you and Miss Ivy and Olive, of course, if you've always been a cat person, just a little background from you.

Speaker 4

So I adopted Ivy in 2018, right after I moved out of my parents' house for the first time so first apartment all by myself and I feel I very, very strongly feel like a house is not a home unless there's somebody furry waiting for you. And so, really quickly, I was like I need a cat, I need something, I need somebody. So I was actually in college at the time studying to be a special education teacher. So I know and feel very strongly about the capabilities of individuals with special needs. So I was like I'm going to find a special needs cat needs. So I was like I'm going to find a special needs cat and she was the first one that I found online.

Speaker 4

And I showed up at the shelter like two hours before they opened the next day and from there, I mean, the rest is history. She's like my soulmate in cat form. I feel like when we first met, even the staff at the shelter were like, oh my gosh, I had no idea she was so friendly. I didn't know that she answered to her name. I almost cried and I'm like this is my cat. And they're like yeah, you can take her. So that's awesome. Ever since, through all of like the ages and stages in my life, and cars and jobs and drama, and you know good times, bad times, covid times, and she's just there, you know that's so awesome.

Speaker 2

It sounds like a match made in heaven right there, you know.

Speaker 4

I always say the stars aligned when I met her like. I'll find her in every lifetime, forever.

Speaker 3

So did you, did you like grow up with cats? Or like was Ivy kind of your introduction to it?

Speaker 4

or like, because it sounds like you already had an idea that like a cat was what you were looking for yeah, well, you know I was real busy at the time with you know, school, school and working full time and all of that, you know, kind of young person trying to figure out how to be an adult stuff, and so a cat felt like it made more sense for me at the time.

Speaker 2

But you know, I will say about cat people, I feel like cat people are really just animal people no-transcript and I'd be like, oh, I can't do anything because I'm gonna my face will blow up and stuff.

Speaker 3

I know, but I love kitties. Always wanted a cat growing up but my dad is like Andrew, where he's just like deathly allergic to him, so never got the opportunity, sadly.

Speaker 2

But we get to live through you, you know, and all our cat content creators and stuff.

Speaker 4

So we appreciate it and I know and you know what I'm so excited too, I have to say, before we even go any further. I'm so honored to be the first cat account and the first Zoom call.

Speaker 2

Hello honored to be the first cat account and the first zoom call hello, so cool, right.

Speaker 4

I know, yeah, got some new things today.

Speaker 2

I know, yeah, so such an honor, cool, glad you're, glad you're happy. I know we really appreciate you. You've been a great partner of ours and you know all your content and stuff and a lot of your content did motivate us to you. You know, start make like I know you've probably started the release of our cat box, like the graphics and stuff, um, so yeah, yeah. So really we we appreciate you cause you've really helped us take off the cat space, you know, and fresh patch. So yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4

Which is super cool because I feel like I found you guys organically, like you would up in my feed, and I was like, oh my gosh, I know this is dog potty grass, but like real grass, my cats are going to love this. And so it was funny because I was actually going to get them fresh patch as a Christmas present and we ended up chatting, I think just before that, so I was like, oh my gosh, it was meant to be.

Finding Ivy: A Special Needs Soulmate

Speaker 4

That's so great and I'm so glad that more cats and other kinds of animals can be introduced to fresh patch, because it really it really can be so enriching for so many different types of animals, not just dogs.

Speaker 3

It goes like so far beyond that, so yeah well yeah, it's been so cool for us to like see that because, like you know, we've known that, like cats, like our product, but just seeing how, like you mentioned, like it's sort of like enrichment for them, like it's like gives them a sort of taste of the outdoors when they can't always go, so it's been really cool to see that and, you know, again thank you for your help and us realizing that. Shout out.

Speaker 2

Miss Ivy Cat shout out miss ivy cat.

Speaker 4

The cat's happy. Yeah on it I think in episode one too, where he mentionedi think that you gifted one of the fresh patches to your neighbor with a cat and it improved their you know overall joy, yes and life so significantly. And cats really, really love being a part of the outdoors when they can't be so yeah really is super beneficial definitely, yeah, that, that story, my neighbor.

Speaker 2

It was so heartwarming too because, like she was, yeah, like I said in the episode, on the verge of tears, you know, when her cat was just like night and day difference and I was like, wow, like we're really on to something here now and like you know, it's not just a potty spot, it, it can help in so many different ways. So we really try to tell that to the viewers too. You know, and customers, and it's like you, especially people with like dogs and cats, that's, that's like the big one. It's like, hey, you can have it for both. And like I don't know if miss ivy cat ever actually does go potty on it and stuff. But, um, actually one of our co-workers, his cat potties on on it and it was just like, okay, like we're, we're in a whole new world.

Speaker 4

Now it's like they do potty on it.

Speaker 2

They like to, you know, play in it, like so many different avenues. So, yeah, really, really cool that is awesome absolutely so.

Speaker 3

Um, we kind of shouted her out earlier. Um, we saw her in the background for a second, but she's off. Yeah, she trotted off, but um, yeah, so like your page is centered around ivy, but you do have another cat. Um, and you know we've seen some videos um where you kind of like describe the process of like bringing her in. But, um, how did how did that happen? Like were you looking for a new cat, did just kind of happen. And then how was? How did miss ivy take to it?

Speaker 4

oh my, my gosh. So I've had Olive now for, I mean, I think, just over a year, like our year anniversary. I adopted her last year at nine weeks old. So, as you can imagine, with a cat page, a lot of cat related items get sent to me as gifts, which is super generous, but I can't possibly go through everything. So I do regular donations and deliveries to the shelter where I got them from, and one of the days that I went I was like I'm going to film a little tour and I popped into the kitten area and all of her litter mates and her were just rescued from a canyon that morning. So they were all kind of cuddled up and sleeping together and Olive was just sitting right in front of the little bars, crying, just meowing and meowing, and all of the staff were telling me we have to take turns holding her to make her stop crying, otherwise she'll just cry in there. She needs people, so naturally I was like, oh, how annoying that must be to have to hold her all the time.

Speaker 4

Give me her I was like, oh no, ivy's kind of old and she's always just been by herself. I don't know how she'll take so truly it was kind of it was a jump for me. I was nervous for a while that I was making the wrong choice, but something inside of me was like I think Ivy needs a friend. I think that it'll help her stay active. Truly, it depends on the disposition of your cat and I felt really confidently with how sweet Ivy is, that she'd come around if it was a rocky start.

Speaker 4

So I brought Olive home and it was a rocky start, which is totally normal, you know, kind of similar to how you would introduce a dog. You want to go slow and steady. So I kept them separate for a good long while and when they were together I made sure that I was always watching them really closely, watching body language, um, and I would also do scent swapping. So I would let them each have a toy and then switch the toy so they could kind of get used to the scent of the other one. And for a while there I was like, oh no, I think I really messed up. I don't know if ivy's ever gonna come around. And then one day I blinked and they were cuddling and following each other around and they were playing, and I have never seen Ivy as active in years as I do with Olive. So thankfully I did not make a bad choice.

Speaker 4

I was confident in the research that I did and that she would come around and she did. So that's not always the case. Same with dogs, especially when you adopt from a shelter and you don't necessarily know what their history or what their past is, and so you really have to respect um respect kind of if they're willing to meet you or not yeah, I kind of flew in sort of blindly and it happened. But, um, she's been, she's been such a little light in her life, she's been awesome, oh, that's amazing, so great.

Introducing Olive to the Family

Speaker 2

Yeah, like a shed, a tear moment when they catch them cuddling it's like, oh my gosh, proud parent moment like I think I did cry actually oh yeah picture and sent it to my mom and I'm like look, I did it that's so great family.

Speaker 3

Now gotta send a pic, mom you know you can't, can't leave home out of it, yeah, no, that's, that's so cool and and like just seeing like through your page like the relationship they have is so sweet and it's so like the fact that you mentioned that Ivy's older and you're able to like introduce someone to keep her company, keep her young, like that sort of stuff. Like that's, that's so Like that's.

Speaker 2

that's so cool. Yeah, that's awesome, that's perfect.

Speaker 4

I'm so happy to be able to also just be able to talk about adoption on my page too, because, you know, Ivy the rescue. She's a special needs rescue and now I can say, like you know, same same story with Olive and they were at the same shelter, and so it was really sort of one of those 180 moments where I was like, oh look, how far we've come, and now we get to do it again.

Speaker 2

Yeah, wow, yeah, that's very exciting, that's awesome. So that actually you just touched perfectly on the next question, but, um, that, yeah, so introducing all of to miss Ivy, and then you did give some tips, but if you want to elaborate any more, if there was anything else that you did to make sure they came together, well, you know, to anybody else that might be bringing another cat home, maybe same situation as you, you gave some really good tips with, like, the scent transfers and everything. That's really cool, but do you have anything else that kind of stuck out with that process?

Speaker 4

You know, I will say kind of a life hack that I learned from one of the fosters that I, that I researched, was if you don't have the space in your house to keep them separate, they make little in my apartment where I don't have a spare room, and that way they were able to only be around each other fully when I was watching them 100%. So that was super helpful, like little life hack that I learned. But truly aside from that, it's sort of the way that you do it with anything that's really important you go low and slow right, yep, so totally non-threatening, and just eventually like enough time will pass, hopefully, where they'll either make it or you've got to kind of reevaluate.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's really cool. So yeah, for all you listeners out there, the playpen has obviously deemed successful from Dominique. So you know, if you are looking into getting another cat in your life, you already have a cat, and I guess this does work for dogs too. If you have a dog, you're looking to get a cat, or vice versa. Take that advice. I think that was that was really good. You definitely did Sounds like. Obviously it worked out very well.

Speaker 3

so, um, I think too like talking about low and slow and you were saying, like with anything, it takes time and you know you can like. Like you were saying you can apply that to anything, like even like using fresh patch. You know some dogs, some cats they get it right away, but sometimes, like you know, it takes a little supervision, it takes a little time and then eventually it becomes part of their life, which is pretty cool 100%.

Speaker 3

So you kind of went into like the beginning stages of you getting Ivy and, like you know, her becoming a part of your life. What made you want to share that relationship with the world and like create the page and like how did that get started?

Speaker 4

Oh man, whenever I get asked this question I like feel a little embarrassed all over again. So when I first adopted Ivy, like I said, I was in that kind of young person trying to adult phase in my life. She was my baby, my child. I was so obsessed with her and she's so perfect I mean, I still am obviously I felt like I just needed to like shout her from the rooftops. So I started bombarding anybody that I could with photos and videos of my cat. So I would my boss all hours of the day. He's like you need to be working, what are you doing? I'd send it to my friends, to my mom, to my family, you know everyone. And finally I could tell they would go, oh, so cute. And it turned into okay, so cute. And I was like, oh no, I need a void to scream into.

Speaker 2

So I made an.

Creating a Miss Ivy Cat Instagram Void

Speaker 4

Instagram page and it was totally just meant for me to just be like my own little video diary. I didn't even realize that it was public and one day it just kind of took off. Like I think, very, very quickly I started getting emails and messages from news channels and you know, hundreds of people overnight, and then thousands, and I was like, oh, they want to know about her, which is so great and so contrary to what I was expecting, because it took her so long to be adopted from the shelter. So then I was like I should really utilize this page in a way that's positive for people. So being able to share her story is kind of what I was hoping for this whole time and not expecting to happen. But yeah, I always tell people I just needed a void to scream into. I was just being like a crazy person and like needed somewhere to channel my craziness to like keep all of my friendships and relationships in my life from thinking I was being super annoying.

Speaker 3

Yeah, of course. Yeah, it's perfect, it's really cool. I mean, it's such like it's a bigger thing than just Ivy. But it's an inspiring story. Everyone kind of sees themselves as an underdog and they see, like you were saying, a special needs cat thriving, getting all this attention and fame and everything. And, like I said, it's inspiring and super cool and it's awesome that you share that with the world.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and I feel like, too, it's. You know, I feel like we've gotten this from other people where their page just kind of took off and that like wasn't the plan. You know what I mean. Like you were just, like you said, avoid to scream and scream to the world. You know, this is my cat and like it ends up just blowing up, which is like really cool for you. You know your sake and stuff. But I feel like that is kind of a trend when you're just organically posting and you're just like, yeah, it's just super genuine and people cling to that a lot and, you know, appreciate content like that. So, yeah, really cool, you know, and glad you were able to. You know, stop annoying the close people in your your life and I think they might be even more annoyed now.

Speaker 2

Yeah she's like oh my god, she went all out like that's all she's crazy, yep you have any?

Speaker 4

uh, miss ivy cat merch in the works I have an etsy page and I do some designs here and there. Um, I don't want to put anything out there. That isn't yet, but um, to be continued yeah, yeah there you go yeah definitely fair.

Speaker 2

So all you listeners keep an eye out. Yeah, it's coming. We won't spill the beans yet. Uh, cool. So moving along, um, you know, with miss ivy's lifestyle, obviously everything, um, we were. You know. You said you were recently starting to redo your catio. Um and I know this is this definitely ties into fresh patch and stuff. So how's that going? How is there any updates on the catio? Is it, is it popping off? Or uh, what's? What's it looking like?

Speaker 4

I am so glad that we're chatting today because I was actually able to take a break from trying to put together all of this furniture and stuff. It's going great. It's almost finished. I can't wait to share it.

Speaker 4

No, but having Brush Patch actually was sort of an inspiration for me a little bit, because I was like I saw how much value they were getting out of even that little extra bit of enrichment and I was like I can do this, I can do this better, I can make this all out. So it definitely kind of set me in motion on trying to make this whole catio thing real lavish for them. Real lavish for them. You know, just similarly to dogs and I think a lot of people don't realize with cats they do still require enrichment.

Fresh Patch for Cats: Enrichment Benefits

Speaker 4

You know, you don't necessarily have to take them on a walk every day, but they need stimulation the same way that a dog does and exercise and you know different scents and different opportunities to explore and stuff. So fresh patch is really an awesome way to do that. Especially, you know, when you live in an apartment like me, I can't just let them roam around outside. I got coyotes, I got cars, we got, you know, pesticides and stuff like that. So fresh patches are really great and easy way for me to be able to give them the great outdoors without giving them the great outdoors yeah, setting them free yeah, and honestly it's, it's gonna make this catio pretty sick video.

Speaker 4

We can't wait to see it, I know in the next couple of days I should be be posting about it all. Right, I know and I how frustrating it all has furniture put together. Yeah, I was going to say I know how frustrating furniture can be to put together sometimes.

Speaker 2

Yeah, and glad you got a little break, because, yeah, you definitely need to give yourself breaks when you put furniture together. Oh yeah, because, yeah, it could get very annoying very quickly.

Speaker 4

And I'm building it all outside on this patio and it's like 100 degrees oh, oh, my gosh brutal yeah that's.

Speaker 3

It's only gonna get hotter too cool, yeah, no.

Speaker 2

And then that kind of you know, off topic. Well, on topic, but fresh patch, and I think you know about it, but we are bringing something, a new product, soon here. Um, that would involve catios. So all you viewers stay tuned. Uh, dominique knows about it, but we won't spill the beans on that yet either. But something very cool is coming for all the cat owners to ties in with the fresh patch. So keep an eye out, and I think that might be an addition to the catio for you as well in the future. So I'm really excited to get that product going and you know, see how it does for everybody. Everybody we've trialed it with has been very happy. So, yeah, I think that'll be the next edition of the catio, oh, yeah.

Speaker 4

So much to look forward to yeah exactly, so no more information, sorry viewer, that's all you get.

Speaker 2

That is all you get, but just a taste. Yeah, just a little taste.

Speaker 3

So just kind of going off the topic of of your cats using fresh patch, um, what was the transition period like? Was there really a transition or like what transition?

Speaker 4

no, you know, before I started with fresh patch, I actually had astro turf and that's what I was using on my patio and I think that probably, similarly to a lot of dog fresh patchers, um, you start out that way. Um, it's fine, but it's not the best. Yeah, no, it's. It's no real substitute for actual, real live grass on the paws. And you know so, as soon as I brought it in, they're kind of watching me going what the heck is she doing? And as soon as I brought it in, they're kind of watching me going what the heck is she doing? And as soon as I put it out, they were just frolicking, they're jumping around, they're rolling in it. So, yeah, zero transition, happy, happy as can be right away, and I figured that would be the case. You know, there's not a lot that can go wrong when you have fresh, organic, good grass at an animal's disposal. They're like woohoo wild again.

Speaker 2

Yeah, exactly that's what I was going to say. It brings their wild side back out and their past, their history of being in the wild and stuff. So that's so cool. And yeah, no turf, we hate the turf. I'll say it Anti-turf. Yeah, anti-turf around here. So the turf yeah, I'll say it, anti-turf man. And yeah, anti-turf around here. So that's really cool. But I don't know if you had anything else to touch on that. I feel like I might have cut you off. Oh, no, no, that's cool again, like it's.

Speaker 3

it's just like this whole um, like fresh match being introduced to cats is like I know I said it before, but it's just been so cool and, like you know, especially seeing it like through your cats, like it's just so opened our eyes so much. And but it's just been so cool and like you know, especially seeing it like through your cats, like it's just so opened our eyes so much and it's really cool to hear that there really wasn't too much of a transition. And you know, this is something that a lot of cats could, could enjoy and like, could improve their quality of life. So that's something that we're looking to do.

Speaker 4

So it's really I would challenge to say all cats. All cats could have their lives improved by having a fresh patch at their disposal.

Speaker 4

truly, and there's a lot that you can do with it, even for cats, you know. Far beyond potty, you can sprinkle some catnip in it, you can hide treats in it and they can dig around and forage, which is what cats are, you know, inclined to try and do, even ones with zero survival instincts like my own. So there's tons that you can do with fresh patch that go far beyond potty, and I think that you're just at the surface. There's a million things I think all cats would really love to try it.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's actually something my neighbor said that we touched on before when she came back. She's like every cat should have this. Even if they don't need it, they need it at the same time, like you know what I mean like if the owner doesn't think they need it, no, they need it. And I was like, okay, like let me, let me write that down can I? Get a microphone on that, like that's perfect quality of life thing it really improves their quality of life, even if you don't realize that it would.

Speaker 2

If you try it, I bet that they'll love it yep most definitely all you viewers out there yeah, listen, it'll improve your cat's quality of life and guaranteed that they will be happy. I don't even think we've seen a cat that like wasn't stoked on it yeah, no, I mean they're either curious or just instantly stoked or, you know, they just maybe take a day to tip.

Catio Updates and Summer Cat Hacks

Speaker 3

But yeah, it's funny too because, like dogs are like from the beginning we're like the focus of the company and it's like it takes some time to like potty train a dog. Sometimes they get it right away, but sometimes, like you know, it takes some time. But with cats it's like such a natural thing for them.

Speaker 4

So and you know. What I will say, too, is that it's it's very cooling during the summertime as well, so it's a great way to keep your cats cool, because a lot of times they don't drink enough water most of the time yep they don't get the same, the same feeling of thirst that another animal would, so keeping them cool and hydrated. They're very prone to overheating during the summertime.

Speaker 2

Another fresh patch hack yeah, there you go, and then yeah, add that to the faq. Yeah, right, yeah, and then all the boxes.

Speaker 2

Yeah, there you go comparing it to turf too, because we all know turf can get extremely hot in the summer too, which is not good, and turf also does, you know, since it is plastic, it will start to melt at, you know, higher temperatures. People that live in Arizona, texas, you know all those places that, and you don't want toxins releasing, you know, onto your pet. Even yourself, like us, as humans, we shouldn't be breathing that in when turf is going into so many apartment complexes and all this stuff and it's just like in hot places and I'm just like, ah, that's just, it's not good for anybody, you know. So, um, yeah, that's that's really cool that we are, you know, providing this service to people like you and educating people as well that you, you know there is an alternative to turf and you don't, you know you don't have to get that.

Speaker 2

Keep your cats cool this summer, you know, and, yeah, cool. So, moving along, um, we know you are going to cat con this year, um, and we are all very excited, oh yeah, and we just want to know have you been before? This is going to be our first year, so we would love some info, if you have any, for us, but if it is your first time we can talk about how much fun we're going to have.

Speaker 4

Well, you know, I actually have never been before. Okay, it'll be a whole new experience for all of us, but I do know a few things to expect. Whole new experience for all of us, but I do know a few things to expect, which will be firstly, tons of kittens available for adoption right there in the event, that's dangerous right?

Speaker 4

I don't know, but yeah, that's one of the one of the main focuses of CatCon is that it is prime kitten season and all of these little babies are looking for homes. So if you are in the market, take a look. If you're allergic, maybe stay away. There's also going to be tons and tons of artists and small businesses showing all sorts of cool cat related things Cool cat birch and there's going to be lots of great information. They have a lot of speakers coming to talk all things cat health, wellness, enrichment, all of the good stuff. So there's a lot to look forward to. And I believe it is also their 10th anniversary, so lots of big things. It's a good first year to go.

Speaker 2

Awesome, yeah, no, we're so excited and we we did um actually secure one of the the bigger booths for the event. So we're really excited to be kind of in the forefront of this. And you know, since it is our first time, we wanted to hit the ground running hard. You know, with it and um that, like I mentioned before, product coming soon, that is the goals to release during cat con. So if you are in the LA area, pasadena is where it will be held, so make sure you take a look at cat con and to all you viewers are already planning on going.

Speaker 3

Stop by and say hi, yeah, we'll be out there yeah, we'll be. Dominique will be out there too so, yep, exactly.

Speaker 2

Actually, I won't personally be there, so if you are really dying to meet me, I'm sorry and you're gonna miss that opportunity.

Like I said earlier, I am very allergic to cats, so probably not the best idea for me to go, but the rest of the fresh patch team will be there, to you know, say hi, answer any questions anybody may have and stuff. So yeah, we're very, very excited to join this year, especially getting into the cat space, like we've been talking about this whole episode and you know I think this is going to really elevate us even more and open more eyes to this awesome product and you know all the benefits of it and stuff. So really cool, excited. So mark your calendars, viewers, pasadena, august first weekend in August. So we'll be there.

Speaker 2

Yep and Dominique, we will see you there, excited to meet you in person. No, no, virtual meeting anymore.

Speaker 4

It's going to be a good time. It's going to be crazy, but it's going to be fun.

Cat Con Preview and Special Announcement

Speaker 2

Yeah, exactly, so our booth is set to be very awesome. So, yeah, make sure you come check it out. And yeah, and I think that that pretty much wraps it up, we do always ask one question to all our guests um, what is your best memory with your cats? I know it's a tough one. Everyone, it's everyone's reaction. It's like it's it is so many yeah, there's so many for him, but if you can pinpoint one, either either memorable, funny, maybe something scary or something, anything that just really sticks out with both cats.

Speaker 4

With both cats.

Speaker 2

Or one yeah.

Speaker 4

It's so hard. I feel like I have like favorite, like categories of things that have happened. But I'll give you one and it starts out kind of sad but it's actually really happy. So stay with me. But I adopted Ivy in July of 2018.

Speaker 1

And by.

Speaker 4

October she started getting a cough. You know, several thousand dollars later and a lot of young Dominique crying turned into us at the oncologists because they told me it looked like it was cancer, which, you know, for somebody that just moved out, I'm totally strapped. I'm young, I'm in college, I'm working as much as I can, I spent everything I had and now they're telling me she needs chemo and all this stuff. And it was really scary and I had already felt like she was my soul cat. Um. So when they went through the plethora of tests that we would need to figure out the cancer diagnosis and all that stuff, I was like you know what? I appreciate it, I can't do that today. So we left and by the time we got to the car they called and they said are you still here? We said, yeah, she goes, bring Ivy back in. Because the whole team found out that you adopted this cat, this older cat with all of these issues, and you know you've just've just started together and they're all really touched by your story.

Speaker 2

We're gonna do everything for free wow, wow, that is, oh, my gosh, that is.

Speaker 4

That's such a relief off your shoulders, probably, yeah yeah, for me, being so young and so, you know, nervous and financially so strapped um, it was truly like one of those things in the universe where I was like, if you do good things, good things come back and no cancer, we're good, she's alive and kicking, and again, that was in 2018.

Speaker 2

So yeah, been a heck of a long time. Here we are seven years later.

Ivy's Cancer Scare: A Heartwarming Memory

Speaker 4
