When was the last time someone told you to "touch grass"? That popular gaming meme has become reality through an unexpected but brilliant collaboration between Fresh Patch and G Fuel. This episode dives into the details of our limited-edition "Touch Grass" package that combines 100% real, hydroponically grown California grass with G Fuel's refreshing new flavor that evokes the sensation of being outdoors.

Gaming content creator OMG It's Firefox joins hosts Drew and Gabe to taste test the new G Fuel flavor, describing its unique cucumber-inspired profile with sweet and sour notes. The conversation flows naturally from this innovative product launch to Firefox's fascinating journey in content creation, which began with a spontaneous flight from Canada to E3 that changed the trajectory of her career forever.

Firefox shares insights from her evolution as a content creator, from her early streaming days to her current focus on automotive content and racing. Her passion for cars extends from virtual racing simulators to real-world tracks, where she earned her racing license through Skip Barber Racing School. The hosts and Firefox bond over their shared interests in F1 racing, discussing favorite drivers and the sport's growing popularity in the United States.

The conversation takes a delightful turn when Firefox introduces us to her cat Gonzo, a reluctant Twitch star with his own emotes on her channel. This leads to a broader discussion about cat behavior and Fresh Patch's expansion into cat products. Drew even considers overcoming his cat allergies to bring a feline friend into the Fresh Patch office, showing just how far the company has come from its dog-focused beginnings.

Ready to experience the outdoors without leaving your gaming setup? Grab one of only 250 limited-edition "Touch Grass" packages before they're gone forever. Follow Fresh Patch on all social platforms for updates on this collaboration and exciting new cat products coming soon!

Introducing Fresh Patch Podcast

Speaker 1

Welcome to the Fresh Patch Podcast, where we talk about everything from dog training to potty talk. It's time to save your rugs and get real. This episode is brought to you by Fresh Patch, featured on Shark Tank, Oprah and the Today Show, and here are your hosts, Drew and Gabe.

Speaker 2

Welcome everybody to the Potty Talk Podcast presented by Fresh Patch. I'm one of your hosts, drew, with my other co-host, gabe, and we have a very lovely guest on the pod today. If you wouldn't mind introducing yourself.

Speaker 3

I'm Sonia, or online more so known as OMG, as Firefox, and you can't make fun of me because that's an old gamer name there you go.

Speaker 2

Yeah, no, I love the username. When I found out I was like, oh, that's perfect. You know, like right on brand there, Thank you I feel like I get a.

Speaker 3

I don't get like hate, but people are. It's awkward introducing yourself to someone who's not like online or like a gamer or anything.

Speaker 2

And I'm like yeah, I'm OMG's.

Speaker 4

Firefox and it's just okay. Interesting choice. Before we started recording, we talked about how it wasn't inspired by Star Fox. Was it inspired by the internet browser?

Meet OMG It's Firefox

Speaker 3

surprisingly no, but they do follow me and we are.

Speaker 2

We're kind of homies so shout out to Mozilla but it was actually Ask Jeeves, so shout out to Mozilla.

Speaker 1

You haven't heard that word in so long it was actually Ask.

Speaker 3

Jeeves.

Speaker 2

Ask Jeeves right.

Speaker 3

It was actually like an old I can't remember if it was RuneScape or there was like an old game where they gave you like an auto-generated name and it just put Fire and Fox together. So I've like used that for a while.

Fresh Patch & G Fuel Partnership

Speaker 2

And then when I started to make content online in the gaming space, there was another youtuber and his name was omg it's ali a and I was like yeah, I was like I kind of like that, yeah, so I kind of sniped it, and also he doesn't use omg anymore, so I'm keeping the legacy there you go you're the sole owner of it, now, cool, and then just want to let everyone everybody listening viewers, if you're watching on youtube, hit that subscribe button. Uh, we'd love all the support. Comment like follow fresh patch on all socials and, of course, omg, it's firefox. We'll have her handle down there as well. So give her a follow. Uh, keep up to date with her. She's got really cool content. We're gonna get into that just in a little bit. But main thing for this episode is a new partnership that fresh patch is um taking on. It will be really. It will be released by the time this episode is out. Um. So, gabe, if you want to give a little explanation, I'm sure the viewers see our beautiful setup.

Speaker 1

We have some new things uh, this time around a big old jug of water probably a lot of questions going on.

Speaker 2

So, Gabe, I'll hand it off to you.

Speaker 4

Absolutely so pretty exciting news. Fresh Patch we're teaming up with G Fuel. They just dropped a new flavor. It's called Touch Grass, kind of playing off the meme of gamers who spend a little bit too much time on the game. Don't touch enough grass somebody here is gonna demo the product for us, um, but yeah.

Speaker 4

So basically the whole idea of it is um, we put together this nice package here where it's a piece of our grass 100 real, hydroponically grown california grass. There you go, um, along with a tub of the new flavor and a shaker cup and, um, yeah, we're gonna be. It's gonna be available on both of our websites and it'll be a fun thing to do.

Speaker 2

You know, gag gift or or however you want to use it you know, maybe you're a gamer who has a pet, you know, and maybe you're a gamer who just needs to touch some grass, exactly, exactly, so yeah, be sure to check out our website.

Speaker 4

um, we did. We sent them out to a bunch of influencers too, so so you know, um, you should start seeing some videos on social media, and I think it'll be a really fun thing, and we're going to do a taste test today. Um, live, so that should be fun also.

Speaker 2

Yes, definitely Very excited to get a taste. I know we've tried it. You have not tried it yet but very excited to have you try it for the first time and shout out to g fuel as well. They've been a huge uh success in this um custom packaging. You know, capitalizing on the meme of touch grass yeah your genius is g fuel.

Speaker 2

So we're really stoked on this partnership and glad we could get this into the hands of you know g fuel creators and then um other customers as well. So it's going to be a limited drop. I don't know if you mentioned that, but limited drop. We're only going to have 250 of these for sale when we release. It actually might even be sold out by the time this episode gets released.

Speaker 3

Get them while it's hot If you guys sell them out.

Speaker 2

we are in the talks of possibly doing another run of 500. If you love it, we'll do it again, but get it while it's hot.

Speaker 4

Limited time drops. You need to touch grass. This is your option right here. I do so this is great.

Speaker 3

There you go, and I love how, as soon as I heard about this, like with Fresh Patch and G Fuel I was like I knew nothing about the packaging. I knew nothing more than packaging. I knew nothing more than that. I was like, please, let it be about touching grass.

Speaker 2

Please.

Speaker 3

Because it just makes so much sense.

Speaker 2

Yeah, exactly what else would we do if we're a partner? It's so funny. That's why I was curious.

Speaker 4

It's so hilarious Cause, like we hear that from people constantly and, like you know, like we, we game too. Like we know the meme and all that, like we, we game too, like we know the meme and all that, and we're like how can we use this in our marketing to, like you know, kind of show off fresh patch? And then g fuel reached out to us and we're like, oh, this is a perfect fit.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I love that it makes so much sense and that's so good and taps into more people. If you know, if you are a video gamer but you have a pet, yes, fresh patch is there for you too. That's our, our main cup of tea, I would say is is the pets cats, dogs, you name it but yeah, real piece of grass. Check it out Freshpatchcom, gfuelcom. And how about let's get to taste testing right?

Speaker 4

Yeah, you want to get that out right away. Let's try it out. I'm so curious.

Speaker 3

You were describing like some flavors to me. Yeah, and trying to be, you know, trying to give me an idea of what I'm in for. Yeah, so I'm curious, yeah.

Speaker 2

I'm curious to see how you feel about it too, because, like I said, we're on one vibe. Some guys on the warehouse. We're on a different vibe.

Speaker 3

Okay, so let's try it out.

Speaker 2

Just load me up, load me up, I got you One scoop, yeah.

Taste Testing Touch Grass

Speaker 4

Let's do I know, yeah, instant, it's like instant neon it does turn green, as you can see, as soon as it's poured into the water.

Speaker 3

Interesting what I know, right Okay.

Speaker 2

Cheers, cheers, yeah, yeah. See it's very, see it's on the sweeter side. Yeah, what I was telling you, right?

Speaker 4

I'm curious to get your input first, because we've already kind of like discussed but I was expecting.

Speaker 3

I think like yeah, like a way more like punchier, but it's nice. It's like it's a little more mellow.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, makes you want to go back for more. A little bit, you know.

Speaker 4

It does?

Speaker 3

I'm trying to.

Speaker 2

It's got kind of like a sweet and sour kind of thing going on. Okay, I got one thing that I'm tasting, that I didn't taste the first time, but I'm going to let you speak on it a little more, because it might I don't know, I don't know this is weird. Okay, I want to hear what you're going to say. It kind of tastes like bubblegum, oh.

Speaker 3

I can see that.

Speaker 2

Like the first initial taste, not the after. Okay, I see what you're saying.

Speaker 4

I was about to completely disagree with you, but now that you say that A little bit of a gum taste. It's got a vibe to it.

Speaker 2

Maybe I just didn't mix it enough, or something. It's like that, because it's that chalky like old school bubble gum.

Speaker 3

I can see that a little bit Like the cylinder ones.

Speaker 4

Yeah, not the gum balls, but like the little, the strips.

Speaker 2

Yeah, the strips when it comes in, like the hubba bub, exactly that's, that's it it's very, it's fresh yeah, I like it it's very fresh, which also I was gonna say do you, do you feel like?

Speaker 4

you know, like if you were to like meditate right now, would you be on like a big patch of grass? You know, with the flavor in your mouth, kind of vibe I feel it.

Speaker 3

Okay, all right. I taste the cucumber and I feel the breeze. That's it. You heard, heard it here first AC's pumping. And I need more. No, it's tasty yeah.

Speaker 2

It definitely gives you energy too. I mean not just oh yeah, we've been drinking the sample one.

Speaker 3

I need it, so this is great.

Speaker 2

Like we were saying, we're very excited about this. This is something. Obviously, if you've tuned into our podcast before, if you're a follower of fresh pets, you know we're in the pet space so to tap into a different you know, demographic um, just different reach for streamers, video gamers. I know like this has been a meme forever, so to capitalize on it, um, like again, shout out to you g fuel. You guys are geniuses, we're stoked.

Speaker 4

You reached out um and drink to the success you know partnerships shout out to the r&d department.

Speaker 3

Yes, yes there we go.

Speaker 2

I'll cheers for that and shout out to fresh patches. Warehouse for uh.

Speaker 4

Pumping out the orders too because, yeah, this was a new one for them. They were working double time. Yeah, they were out there.

Speaker 3

Yeah, we got out there and you know, pack some of these I will say one thing that I've I've really appreciated and one thing that I've definitely noticed here is that it is I mean pun, maybe intended. It is like a super, like homegrown.

Speaker 4

Like it's very grassroots, homegrown Guys are full of it now, I know right. Oh, we got puns for days. I love it.

Speaker 3

But yeah, like that's when you're saying that it's probably like hand-packed and stuff like that, Like even just taking a look in the warehouse and like your operation and everything it is, it's crazy.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 3

For how big you are, that it is such a like personal you know Definitely.

Speaker 2

Yeah, yeah, and that's what I was mentioning to you before we started. Recording is like people don't realize that and then we really try to make it a personable product community like we're here to support I mean our customer service, like you call them. They'll be on the phone with you for two hours potty training your dog and you could.

Speaker 4

you could call us two different times to talk to the same person like all that kind of stuff and it's funny because people think that we're this multinational corporation and all that and it's like, no, like again, grassroots, no pun intended yeah, yeah, but you got your hand model in-house in-house hand model in-house and he does other things too, I can make what I'm making now just modeling these guys yeah, a lot of hats being worn and if you want one of those

Speaker 3

gosh, dang it. Gloves, hats, grass, you name it but um we got, we grass you name it.

Speaker 1

But we got hats.

Speaker 2

If you want to wear a Fresh Patch hat, check out freshpatchcom. They're sick Dad hats. Yes, you heard it here first they're sick. She will be leaving with one today, but they are for sale on the site. So if you want one, you want to be part of the crew, go grab them.

Speaker 4

There's someone who goes around twitch con right, yes, with a box of oh yeah, yes, I've seen that, yeah, so very convinced that is

Speaker 2

our grass, really yes yeah, because I saw it I think it was last, last year's, and it went viral a little bit. Somebody tagged us or something sent it to me and I was like I think juliana sent it to me and I was looking at it and I was like, because we have a very specific type of grass, like, what we ship is very like, you can't just go get this at Home Depot. It's very different, very unique, right, and I can tell, like I told you, I've been here for nine years and working in the warehouse touching this grass.

Speaker 3

The man knows his grass, I know my grass, I've touched plenty.

Speaker 4

I know my blades All right.

Speaker 2

So, and that's exactly it, like there's a difference between our grass blades and like stuff you would get at home Depot. When this guy was walking around I was like that is our grass. He just put it in a different box, like there's just no way that he just went and got that from home Depot.

Speaker 3

So you know so rub us the wrong way. I was like we need to do that. So what you're saying is that we might see you at TwitchCon 2026?

Speaker 2

Correct, there's a strong chance, very strong chance, and it just might be with G Fuel. We'll have to wait and see. So that has been in talks. We can talk about that, because this will be released after this releases, but yes, that has been in the conversation, that's exciting.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I know we're really stoked. We need more gamers to touch grass. Exactly, We've been calling for it for years. The gamers yearn for the grass. We're getting carried away. It's good. It's good, it's good.

OMG's Gaming & Content Creation Journey

Speaker 2

Let's talk more about you. Yes.

Speaker 1

What you do.

Speaker 2

Let's give a little explanation of what OMGg firefox is all about. Your type of content, um why you started when you started. Let it loose. I mean.

Speaker 3

So I started content creation back in 2013 and at the time I was living in canada and I was actually working at pet smart and I was in college for game development because I wanted to make video games originally, um, and I ended up going to some fluke like my roommate knew someone at Activision and it was like some convoluted thing. I was literally working at PetSmart and I got a call and they said if you can get to LA the next day which is I'm a broke college kid yeah.

Speaker 2

That's a big ask, that is a very big ask yeah.

Speaker 3

So. But he said if you can get to LA like tomorrow, E3 is starting and he has a way to get in. And I go on my break, I'm mulling this over. I'm looking at my bank account with like $200 in it and I left work and I booked my flight and the next day I went to LA. Wow, and when I got to E3, something just clicked in me and I knew that this is. I already knew that I wanted to be in game development and be in the gaming industry, but it just solidified everything like tenfold yeah, and being in LA too, I mean coming from Canada.

Speaker 1

It's a whole.

Speaker 2

I mean we're used to it now but like it's a whole different world if you've never been there before and you are on a whim going like yes especially in a community like gaming community.

Speaker 4

You know where, like a lot of gamers are concentrated in LA, yeah, yeah, production too, like you know, just development and stuff too.

Speaker 2

So yeah, that's really cool.

Speaker 4

And then there's like a whole influencer side of it which is also big, like in LA, you know.

Speaker 3

Yeah, and it wasn't at the time.

Speaker 4

Yeah.

Speaker 3

Which is like, and then I started streaming in 2013 by complete chance.

Speaker 4

Yeah, duke Nukem YouTube days yeah, I should have.

Speaker 3

But after E3, I was like, okay, this is clearly what I want to do. So I started to go to different conventions just to meet people and be like how do I do what you're doing? I ended up meeting some content creators which, again at the time, was so new. I ended up meeting some content creators which, again at the time, was like so new and I started hanging out with them and playing games with them and they're like well, why don't you try this streaming thing? Everyone's like who's that girl in the background? So like, why don't you just give it a shot? And the rest has kind of been history. I started doing gaming content and that evolved into more like more personal vlogs and I did a lot of hosting at events. And then that led into I like cars too. So I started to do car content and that's kind of been my jam recently.

Speaker 2

Nice, nice. Yeah, I mean, he's not, you're a car guy but I appreciate cars.

Speaker 4

Yeah, I don't know a ton about them, but I that's fine, then you got me over here.

Speaker 2

It's just like I mean you know our conversation.

Speaker 4

He's like your head.

Speaker 1

Yeah, freaked out about what yeah, it's crazy, but that's really cool.

Speaker 2

That's a insane journey too. I mean to come on a whim yeah it's like game time decision, no pun intended. Game time decision like do I commit to la or not? And like who knows where you would have been if you didn't, if you decided, you know what, I can't afford it. You know like it's just not gonna work. I'm a broke. 200. You know like I can't do it, so that's really cool I took a big risk, but yeah did you reward?

Speaker 4

yeah. Did you move right away, like after you came for e3 or whatever?

Speaker 3

no, yeah so I was pretty I started streaming like when, when I was in Canada and I was doing that for a couple of years and it just started to, it started to take off more and I was getting booked for work out here and I would come for like E3 and come for events, and then I kept, it was just back and forth, back and forth and eventually I was like what am I doing in Sarnia, ontario, population 70,000, and I just felt like I wanted to experience something bigger and I wanted to like again, like I came to E3 and I'm like, oh my gosh, like this is it. So I it took a couple years, but then I eventually came over. But yeah, very cool, very cool.

Speaker 2

Well, I eventually came over. Very cool, very cool.

Speaker 3

Well.

Speaker 2

I mean, like you said, your content is really cool too. Mixing in the cars. I know we were talking about that. Super cool. So if you want to give a little explanation on that, about your whole system, it's just so cool to me Because you race in real life. So racing on stream, but I'll let you get into detail A bit. So racing on stream, but I'll let you a bit get into detail.

Speaker 3

Yeah, a bit, yeah. Um, yeah, I've been focusing more on automotive content and that's anywhere from. I'll do like car reviews or I'll like deep dive into a car, or I like to shoot a lot of like cinematic content too. So if I ever get the chance to like be in cool cars, I like to show them off in like fun ways. Um, last year I took my uh, I took Skip Barber racing because I I wanted to get my license so I could actually like compete.

Speaker 1

And.

Speaker 3

I I got my license. Racing is very expensive.

Speaker 3

So, um, I wasn't able to like enter a series or anything, but I definitely gained like a lot of knowledge and just a lot of experience. And, um, I try to take that now with. I still do like some racing programs and I still like to I'll take my own cars out, but, um, yeah, it's been fun and yeah, like we were talking about earlier, I have been recently, if there's like an F1 race coming up or something, I like to race on the sim and then like watch the race. Or if I know that I'm going to drive on a track, before I did Skip Barber in Sonoma, I was running that track on the sim endlessly just to like gain the knowledge of it before.

Speaker 4

I actually go out. Yeah, are you a Lewis Hamilton gal? I like, yeah, I all your turds down, yeah, everything. Yeah, are you a Lewis Hamilton gal? I like, yeah, yeah.

Cars, Racing & F1 Talk

Speaker 3

I wasn't for a while.

Speaker 4

I will say that when it was like Max and Lewis back and forth, I was like such a Verstappen fan yeah yeah, but then, like you know, given the last couple years, I have gained like such a soft spot for him, him so hard, yeah, he's been killing it. My friends are like really into f1, yeah, and so they're constantly. There's the max guys, and then there's the hamilton guys, so they're like going at it.

Speaker 3

I am a papaya girl. I like mclaren a lot, that's cool.

Speaker 2

Yeah, that's a good team too. How do you feel about lewis hamilton's switcheroo?

Speaker 3

I feel like it's something that he had known he wanted for so long.

Speaker 2

Yeah.

Speaker 3

So for him to not do that, I feel like maybe he felt like he would have been like missing out on, like that was his dream was to race for Ferrari.

Speaker 4

Yeah, it's cool to see F1 kind of like make its way into, like, the mainstream. I think it's bigger in Europe, right?

Speaker 3

Yeah.

Speaker 2

But in the US, like, like it's blown up, yeah, people are obsessed with it do you think that that was primarily because of drive to survive?

Speaker 3

do you think that that was like a really big boost for it?

Speaker 2

or probably, I don't know I don't know, I'm not like the biggest in that, like I followed.

Speaker 1

I'm not like always watching every race and stuff, but like yeah, I don't know. I don't know.

Speaker 2

I feel like it was just the drivers got so popular too. Yeah, Like you know what I mean, like Max and Lewis, and they just became such like public figures that people are like, who are these people Looked into it? And then we're just like this is actually kind of cool.

Speaker 3

You know Especially Max.

Speaker 4

The girls love Lando too lando too.

Speaker 2

Yeah, oh god, yeah, yeah, yeah, you know can you? Blame him, I know sometimes the, the tiktoks and stuff you see about that. It's like, it's like a highlight reel like his good looks and it's like okay, like it's like a fan cam.

Speaker 3

Yeah, exactly, yeah, just fan pages, everywhere, all right that's all right. Yeah, um cool have you ever been?

Speaker 2

to a f1 race I have.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I went to F1 Miami, I think a couple years ago, and then I went to Vegas the last two years nice.

Speaker 2

How was that? I remember the year one, and it was just like my buddy was living out there at the time too, and he's like dude, it's ridiculous like that was it Like everything is just like it's bad. And then the first year wasn't like all that successful Right, like nobody ended up going With the pothole thing too.

Speaker 3

Yeah, the pothole or the manhole cover, the manhole cover, yeah. But I think they've kind of figured it out and a lot of the things that they put in place into this city are find some mistakes and pivot and stuff. But it's like Vegas is also like so busy.

Speaker 2

Exactly Like at any given time.

Speaker 3

I just went a couple. Maybe like a couple of weeks ago or maybe a month ago I went for Monster Jam.

Speaker 2

Oh nice.

Speaker 4

I've never been. I've never been 12 year old me would have been going crazy. 12 year old me was going crazy.

Speaker 3

So sick, yeah. So I went for Monster Jam and I had friends who were there at the same time, because it was also Evo, which is like a gaming convention.

Speaker 4

Oh cool.

Speaker 3

And Backstreet Boys were playing at the Sphere.

Speaker 2

Oh snap, so like triple win. So much going on, it's always overwhelming, man did you go to the Sphere no I.

Speaker 3

Backstreet Boys at the Sphere would have been.

Speaker 2

Grateful Dead.

Speaker 4

I don't know if you're a deadhead, but the dead in company had like a residency there for a little bit and like I'm so upset that I missed it because it looked incredible literally mind exploding, I think.

Speaker 3

I would have evaporated if I got to see the Backstreet Boys in the Sphere, I wouldn't have made it out.

Speaker 2

I saw that evaporated if I got to see the Backstreet Boys in the sphere, oh my goodness.

Speaker 4

I wouldn't have made it out I saw them.

Speaker 3

That was like one of my first concerts.

Speaker 4

Oh, wow it was 1999 or 2000.

Speaker 3

And I went for their like Millennium World Tour Dang.

Speaker 2

And you still remember it to this day. I do, I do, I'm going to start crying.

Speaker 3

I'm so sad I didn't see them. That's great, that's so good Moving along.

Speaker 2

I'm pretty sure we covered everything, but you do have a pet at home.

Speaker 3

I do. I do involve him a lot on stream. People definitely love seeing him on Twitch. He has a couple of emotes on my channel oh, that's awesome. So he's very popular on my Twitch.

Speaker 4

What's his name?

Speaker 3

Gonzo Gon, he's very popular on my Twitch.

Speaker 4

What's his name? Gonzo, gonzo, that's what he is.

Speaker 3

So if people don't see him for a little while, they're like where's our king?

Speaker 4

We need to see him.

Speaker 2

Bring him he's the star of the show he is. That's so funny. Yeah, people really love him.

Speaker 3

But he also hates being on camera. Oh really, If I ever pick him up and I bring him on stream. I'm like look at your adoring fans, look at, they're all watching. He just tucks his head in my elbow and I'm like you have so many fans out there. You need to appease the fans.

Speaker 4

You gotta appease them. He doesn't get it. Well, hopefully he'll loaf out on the touch grass package. He's been a very indoor cat.

Speaker 3

so I think that maybe having a little taste of the outdoors yeah definitely. I think he'll appreciate that. Yeah, absolutely, I'm excited.

Speaker 2

Stay tuned. We are sending you home with another Fresh Patch product.

Speaker 1

Can't say what it is, but.

Speaker 2

I think Gonzo's going to love it and it will release after this episode, probably about two weeks after this episode releases. So give us a follow at Fresh Patch. If you are a cat owner, stay tuned. We have a really, really fun. I think it's pretty cool, right.

Speaker 3

I'm just saying.

Speaker 2

She saw a preview.

Speaker 3

Gonzo is going to love this. This is right up his alley. I also love how you guys have been for, how you know for how long you have been a company that, like you, are dipping into the cat space. Now. Yes, yes, no, 100 percent.

Speaker 2

I, you know we were established in 2010. It's always been about the dogs. It's always slow. We've always offered like cat grass, but this year it's like we're really marketing it hard getting more partners. You know people like you that have cats. Get their feedback make products and we're really learning, like the story I told you about my neighbor too. Like learning the effects that it gives to cats. You know, lounging, uh, one of our warehouse guys cat actually goes potty in it, litter, litter, alternative, like it's a health alternative.

Speaker 2

You know, there's just so many things that we're learning and like capitalizing on too, I would say to like, yeah, offer it to everybody.

Speaker 4

So yeah, it's tough for us too because, like we're all dog owners, you know we have dogs running through the office and drew very, very cute dogs. Yes, oh, they're incredible. Oh, drew is incredibly allergic to cats, so we've always talked about having an office cat, but you know, debbie downer over here, but supposedly there's new medicines out, like I was telling you.

Speaker 2

Our partner of mission meow, she was like there's stuff nowadays you can take and like cleaners and stuff and I was like, okay, okay, send some options what about like a sphinx cat or something?

Speaker 3

are they like hypoallergenic?

Speaker 4

or like the, the hairless ones yeah, why?

Speaker 3

okay, I will say I think they're cool.

Speaker 4

I I like them a lot.

Speaker 3

They're weird to pet. A friend of mine has one and he's so cute, I love him so much. I'm just hearing that she has to give him a bath once a week Because there's nothing to absorb. I'm good Poor stuff.

Speaker 2

I'm good.

Speaker 4

I see a lot of like videos on social media of like cat influencers and stuff. Like one of my favorite things that I see cats do is like when they sit on the chair and like pod stuff.

Speaker 3

You know like it just cracks me up like something like a dog comes by and it's just yeah, around the corner just so would you ever get a cat?

Speaker 4

I would absolutely love to so my dad not allergic. No, no, but my dad is like drew, so I was never allowed to have a cat growing up and, uh man, I've always, I've always wanted one, like from when I was a little kid. So might have to pull the trigger if we can get this guy to medicate. You know, get a nice cat going.

Speaker 2

Like I said, we got to look into some options, supposedly there's stuff out there nowadays, so and we?

Speaker 4

work we work with like cat shelters and stuff. Now so like yeah you know we'd have access to cats who you know need to be adopted, and that sort of stuff so, yeah, they need to be adopted, see oh geez, all eyes come to me

Speaker 2

look at that. Okay, let me look into the medicines. I do love cat like, that's the thing, like I wish I could pick one up and snuggle it up and you know but that's don't swipe at me. Cats can. Yeah, that's.

Speaker 4

However, my face will swell like I feel like cats are so independent you know what I mean like if you have a dog like me and drew's dog, like we were talking about earlier, complete Velcro dogs Like they, you know they need you every five seconds and they need attention. But cats are kind of like, you know you leave some food out for them and if they want it if they're feeling social to come out. You know, snuggle a little bit.

Speaker 3

It's on their terms, for sure, their terms. And food, yep, yes, yes, there's like there'll be sometimes where I'll be up in my office and um gonzo will will stroll in and I'm like, oh my gosh, you came to see me, like that's so cute, and he'll curl up and he'll jump on my lap and he's doing circles. He's looking at me. I'm like, oh my gosh, you were so cute. And I'm like, what time is it? And I'm like, oh you, like it's you don't love me there's motivation here,

Speaker 2

that's so funny.

Speaker 3

Well, maybe we do get an office cat, I don't know I think that maybe that's how I'm not a scientist, um, I'm not a doctor, but maybe, if you like, are just exposed to it a bunch build resistance or something.

Speaker 2

Yeah, I don't know. It's worth a shot. It's worth a shot. I just don't know how the dogs are going to react to a little kitty.

Speaker 3

Have they seen cats before? Oh pissed.

Speaker 4

Oakley is freaking, oh, okay.

Cat Behavior & Final Thoughts

Speaker 2

Because we actually had a stray in our area once and it was right outside, like the front door, and he was he. I thought he was gonna break the glass, that's he freaking charged that that window and then cat took off and then I just put him on the leash and like let him go out, and he was everywhere sniffing every bush and I was like yeah, he don't like the cats, that might be an issue. So but like I was telling you before we started recording, like once he gets familiar with them.

Speaker 1

Yeah, he kind of just like you know, like stella, all over he just lets him just like walk over them and like whatever, and he's just like, okay, it's that, that thing again you know it's not gonna do anything to me.

Speaker 2

I won't do anything to it so.

Speaker 4

So my dog is, like we'll see, had very limited experience with cats, but so far he's been super sweet, you know, and it's it's only been cats that have been like introduced to him. So I wonder if, like he saw a stray cat, how he'd react.

Speaker 3

But yeah, it's definitely. I mean it's definitely different. I am. I have a stray that comes by my place, orange cat, by my place orange cat, and gonzo does not like orange cat.

Speaker 3

If we ever like see him strolling by, he puffs up he's like hair, standing tail thick, to the point that, oh my gosh, he's actually going a little bit deaf because he's older. And I noticed, like I'll go just like try and guess how he I get his attention and now he's like not paying attention as much, I don't see his ear twitch. So I feel like he's starting to lose his hearing. And about a month or so ago orange cat came to visit and I'm I'm used to like watching and he gets all puffed up and mad and he was walking towards the kitchen and I don't know.

Speaker 3

I wanted him to calm down so I went to just pet him and I think he thought that it was Orange Cat, because he can't hear very well and he's all hyped up. So I went to pet him and calm him down and he's all hyped up. So I went to like pet him and like calm him down. He whipped around, latched onto my leg and took a nice little chunk wow out and that was like the first I've had him for 16 years and that's the first time so just ever happened, coincidentally.

Speaker 4

I might have some insight on this oh because yesterday I saw a video um that um, this girl on social media posted she had like scratches all over her face and almost the exact same situation. She was walking her cat outside and it saw another cat in the book, in a bush, and was like in this state of like hyper awareness redirected aggression so apparently. Apparently, when cats sense danger, they kind of like that's the only thing that they can focus on and it's like they all, they all, they care about.

Speaker 4

All they can think about is making sure they're not in danger protecting themselves, protecting themselves exactly so, even like owners, like people they know, like they lose track of that and it's like all that they think about is in that moment. So I was kind of reading through the comments, like how do you, how do you handle this? So apparently they were saying like throw a blanket over them or like put them in a dark room or something like that, and like try to like desensitize themselves from like that danger feeling and the worst thing that you can do is try to touch it or like pick it up.

Speaker 2

Cause they're like my baby, are you okay?

Speaker 4

Exactly that's what I did, so that's so funny that you said that because I literally saw that yesterday. So I hope, I hope that's helpful.

Speaker 3

Yeah, no, that's what. That is helpful Cause I also, right after it happened, I was like, well, my poor baby down a rabbit hole and it is like that miss, that misdirected aggression or it's all hyped up and like you're saying it's the only thing you can think of, and like I just touch him and yeah but yeah, it's like out on me.

Speaker 4

Yeah, super common for cats. Yeah, that's what I've, that's what I've been hearing.

Speaker 3

I think god's is okay, you know yeah and it's just like I've touched him like that before when he's been hyped up. But I think it's a combination of being like so old and a little deaf and scared and my poor baby so um. My tetanus shot is updated which is cool, I guess.
