A Dancers Perspective
Welcome to the Podcast channel of A Dancers Perspective where we provide a platform for dancers and performers to talk about their perspectives and experiences in the industry. Our guests will include a variety of performers that are at different stages of their career and dive into their perspectives on topics such as training, auditioning processes, their gig life and work and how they have navigated the industry. This platform is not another self help platform where we give you the cookie cutter step by step plans on becoming a professional dancer but rather provide a community. A community where we bring together dancers to talk about their experiences that can help you feel like you're not the only one thinking a certain way and also help provide you insight on certain topics that can help encourage you on your own professional journey. If you have a topic that you would like to hear someone's perspective on or you think you have a pretty interesting perspective get in touch!

Shahnae Cutajar- When Dreams Change Direction

What happens when the dream you've worked towards for years begins to change?
In this episode, we sit down with a former professional dancer Shahae who has gone on to become a successful Pilates instructor and studio owner. Together, we have an honest conversation about what it really feels like to evolve your dream.
We talk about the emotions that come with stepping into a new chapter—grief, excitement, uncertainty, fear and pride—and why it's completely normal to experience all of them at once. Changing direction doesn't mean you've failed, and it doesn't mean you have to leave your love for dance behind.
Your dance career will always be part of you. The discipline, resilience, confidence and lessons you've gained don't disappear when one chapter ends—they become the foundation for whatever comes next.
If you've ever questioned whether it's time to pivot, wondered what life after performing could look like, or felt guilty for wanting something different, this episode is your reminder that dreams are allowed to evolve. You don't have to quit your dream cold turkey. Sometimes, your next dream grows from the first one.
Whether you're still performing, considering a career change, or simply navigating a new season of life, we hope this conversation reminds you that your story doesn't end when one dream changes—it simply begins a new chapter.
