In this raw and powerful premiere episode of The Elevation Room, we sit down with Matthew Ackman — a husband, father of three, pastor, and leader of Crossroads Leadership College — whose story sounds like a movie but is 100% non-fiction.
Matt opens up about his troubled youth: the arrests, convictions, time in foster care, and even a jail sentence that seemed like the end of the road. But God had other plans. When a judge made a miraculous decision to set him free, it was just the beginning of a radical transformation.
From that moment on, Matt’s life has been marked by the power of redemption. After giving his life to Christ, he was later hit by a truck and told he'd never walk again — but his faith never wavered. God not only healed his body but launched him into a new purpose-driven life.
