To celebrate the dedication of a child, and the commissioning of her parents, we took a break this Sunday from our study in John to look at Deuteronomy 6. In this chapter, we learn the words of Moses to the people of Israel were meant to protect them from becoming like the canaanites. They were commanded to love God with all their heart, and to teach the Word of God to their sons and son’s sons.
