Ponder and Magnify: A Rosary Podcast

S1, E17 - Season One Recap and What's Next

John and Jessica Helling Season 1 Episode 17
Jessica:

Hello and welcome to the Ponder and Magnify podcast, where our mission is to seek an encounter with Jesus through praying the rosary, relying on the grace of the Holy Spirit and the intercession of Mary. I am so happy that you are here. This will be just a really short episode, wrapping up season one and talking about what's coming in the future, things to look forward to with season two. A lot of our listeners have been asking what's the plan, so this is a way to get the word out. So first I just want to say thank you Thank you, Holy Spirit for the gift of what was season one. Season one was filled with so many beautiful moments that hit my heart personally. My heart most definitely needed season one, and the Lord provided. The decade meditations were particularly powerful places of prayer for me where I felt like his grace just poured out in all the ways I needed it. Another powerful moment for me was at one point with praying the rosary, the image of holding my heart with Mary and having the Holy Spirit just pour onto it like the morning dew, refreshing all those places of woundedness and making them into spots of glory, channels of God's glory. I loved in our discussion on the carrying of the cross, father George's explanation on patience and patience as moderating sorrow, and how oftentimes when we're feeling impatient we're actually grieving a lack of control. My heart really needed that. I've been thinking about that one long and hard. That keeps coming back to me in my prayer. I really loved and appreciated John's meditation on the soldiers weaving the crown of thorns and his insight into how our sins always wound us, even when we don't see it in the moment, and how our sin also wounds the Lord. It just makes me want to call on the grace of God to help me even more to avoid it. These are the moments and things that are coming to my head, coming up to the surface right now, on the fly. There's just so much beauty and so much goodness that came from season one. So for that I want to say thank you, holy Spirit. None of this would be possible without you, and we know that all inspiration and anything good that comes out of this is all to your credit. So thank you for showing up, thank you for moving hearts, thank you for moving my heart. I told my husband, even if not a single person ever listened, I feel like this is bearing fruit so much in my own heart. It's just such a gift from the Lord. So just thank you, God, I want to say, for the gift that season one was and please, Lord, be with us as we go into season two. Please fill us with your inspiration and continue to show up. Help, bear fruit that we can come to know you and encounter you more deeply.

Jessica:

Season two, we're excited to say, will be launching mid-May. We've got another awesome guest priest who will join us for the Glorious Mysteries. Of course, we know you could be listening to this at any time, but in the liturgical point of the calendar where we are right now, we just finished Holy Week and are celebrating Easter. We're in the octave of Easter right now and so in this coming and current Easter season, really wanting to focus in on the glorious mysteries as we celebrate that, so you can expect the same format, with Bible studies with John and the guest priest on Monday, decade reflections on Wednesdays and Rosaries with Meditations intended to engage your imagination on the Glorious Mysteries on Fridays. We're really looking forward to continuing to pray with you, to continuing to come together to really encounter Jesus by the intercession of Mary and the grace of the Holy Spirit. All right, it's gonna be great. Well, you'll be hearing from us more mid-May. In the meantime, please, please, pray for us and know that we are praying for you. Praise be to God.
