Hello and welcome to the Ponder and Magnify podcast, where our mission is to seek an encounter with Jesus through praying the Rosary, relying on the grace of the Holy Spirit and the intercession of Mary. I am so happy that you are here. In this episode, we're going to be praying the Rosary while meditating on the Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary. Before each decade, you'll be given something to imagine related to the mystery that we're praying, but if the Holy Spirit leads your imagination somewhere different than where you're being directed, definitely follow the Spirit's prompting instead. Before we start, let's pause and reflect on what we're bringing to prayer. What are your joys in this moment? What sorrows do you feel right now? Is there anything you're afraid of? What are you wishing for right now? Whom do you wish to pray for? In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, amen, Jesus, we ask you to speak directly into our present circumstances. Mary, thank you for praying with us and for us now. Holy Spirit, anoint the gift of our imagination so that we might come to encounter Jesus more deeply through it. I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. He descended into hell. On the third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven. He is seated at the right hand of God, the Father Almighty. From there He shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Catholic Church, the communion of Saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and life everlasting. Amen. Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. Amen For an increase in faith. Hail Mary full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. for an increase in hope, Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed are thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. for an increase in love. Hail Mary full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen. o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Amen. The first glorious mystery is the Resurrection, a reading from the Gospel of John.
Jessica:But Mary Magdalene stayed outside the tomb weeping, and as she wept she bent over into the tomb and saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had been. And they said to her Woman why are you weeping? She said to them they have taken my Lord and I don't know where they laid him. When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus there, but did not know it was Jesus. Jesus said to her Woman why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for? She thought it was the gardener and said to him Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him and I will take him. Jesus said to her Mary. She turned and said to him in Hebrew, Rabbouni, which means teacher. The two angels in the tomb asked Mary Magdalene, why are you weeping? Perhaps they were wondering why she was crying when the one she was desperate for was standing right there behind her ready to receive her. Mary Magdalene was absorbed in the pain and suffering of the moment, whereas the angel saw the moment with an eternal perspective, able to easily see the resurrected Jesus before them. In making himself known to Mary Magdalene, Jesus pulled Mary Magdalene out of the reality of what was happening on earth to the eternal reality of the resurrection. Where an earthly perspective led Mary Magdalene to pain and potential despair, an eternal perspective filled her with joy.
Jessica:As we pray this decade, consider an area of your life that feels heavy right now. Imagine yourself in the garden beside Jesus' empty tomb, discussing with Jesus how this heavy feeling or circumstance in your life will be completely healed and redeemed in heaven. Allow this to fill you with new hope in a reality that is in His design. Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen Hail Mary, full of grace. Amen, Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end, Amen. O my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy, amen.
Jessica:The second glorious mystery is the ascension, A reading from the book of Acts. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. When Jesus had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up and a cloud took him from their sight. While they were looking intently at the sky as he was going, suddenly two men dressed in white garments stood beside them. They said Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? After the ascension, the apostles remain staring at the sky, waiting for Jesus' next move. The angels ask them Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? The angels are beginning to awaken the apostles to the reality that Jesus' next move will be in and through them.
Jessica:As we pray this decade, consider the prayer requests on your own heart.
Jessica:Ask Jesus how he wishes to work in and through you with respect to these prayer requests.
Jessica:Could the answer to your prayers rely on you following his lead with taking a next step?
Jessica:If so, ask him to reveal this to you, our Father, who art in heaven.
Jessica:Hallowed be thy name.
Jessica:Thy kingdom come.
Jessica:Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Jessica:Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Jessica:Amen, hail Mary, full of grace.
Jessica:The Lord is with thee.
Jessica:Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen. Hail Mary, full of grace.

Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy, amen.
Jessica:The third glorious mystery is the Pentecost. A reading from the book of Acts. When the time for Pentecost was fulfilled, they were all in one place together. And suddenly there came from the sky a noise like a strong driving wind, and it filled the entire house in which they were. Then there appeared to them tongues of fire, which parted and came to rest on each one of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to proclaim. Those gathered at the Pentecost had been waiting for this moment since Jesus' Ascension, unable to predict when it would occur. This time of waiting had been spent in excited anticipation of the Holy Spirit's arrival, and thus their hearts were disposed to receive the Holy Spirit's gifts. Since this moment, the Holy Spirit has been made radically available to those who are baptized In every sacrament received. We are given the opportunity to experience a personal Pentecost moment, with an inrushing of the Holy Spirit In prayer. We are promised the Holy Spirit will meet us too. Let us enter into these experiences, then, with anticipation that the Holy Spirit will fill our hearts with greater faith, hope, love and or peace in the promise of salvation, whether we feel it immediately or at a later time.
Jessica:As we pray this decade, imagine holding your heart in your hands.
Jessica:See Mary and Jesus with their hands outstretched over your heart, praying for the Holy Spirit to enter it.
Jessica:Allow yourself to feel an excited anticipation at the arrival of the Holy Spirit.
Jessica:And as Mary and Jesus pray and you allow yourself to feel the excitement, watch your heart naturally open up in a position ready to receive what the Holy Spirit wishes to give you.
Jessica:Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Jessica:Thy kingdom come.
Jessica:Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Jessica:Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
Jessica:Amen Hail Mary, full of grace.
Jessica:The Lord is with thee.
Jessica:Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Jessica:Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.

As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell.
Jessica:The fourth glorious mystery is Mary's assumption into heaven, a reading from the Gospel of John. Do not let your hearts be troubled. You have faith in God. Have faith also in me. In my Father's house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you. I will come back again and take you to myself so that where I am, you may also be.
Jessica:Jesus prepared a dwelling place for Mary in heaven, as he promised and took her to himself. He promises to do the same for us. When we arrive there, it will be a homecoming. We will be returning to God, from whom we came. Although we may not possess a memory of having been there, heaven is our home.
Jessica:Anytime we experience a longing to be relieved of suffering, we are actually experiencing a homesickness for heaven, where we are promised freedom from all suffering.
Jessica:This is where we are headed, where we belong, where we were always intended to reside.
Jessica:Heaven is our home.
Jessica:As we pray this decade, allow yourself to feel a homesickness for heaven and a longing for all Jesus has promised us there.
Jessica:Amen, hail Mary full of grace.
Jessica:The Lord is with thee.
Jessica:Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Jessica:Holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death.
Jessica:Amen, hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell, lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy Mercy. Amen. The Fifth Glorious Mystery. Mary is crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth. A reading from the Gospel of John. Standing by the cross of Jesus were his mother and his mother's sister, mary, the wife of Clopas and Mary of Magdala. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, woman, behold your son. Then he said to the disciple Behold your mother. And from that hour the disciple took her into his home. When Mary was crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth, all of humanity was entrusted to her by God. With this, God gave her the grace to see every soul as part of the body of Christ. By God's grace, she is able to look at a person, no matter how deeply entrenched in sin they are, and see the image of God underneath it all, the image of her own son. Her heart then runs over with mercy and love for every soul. As we pray this decade, imagine Mary in front of you, eyes welling with tears, unable to suppress her smile. She goes to explain herself: My gosh, I can't help myself. There is just something in you that reminds me of my son, Jesus. I think you two would be great friends. Do you have a minute? Can I tell you about him? Hear what it is that she wants to share with you, about Jesus, our Father, who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen, hail Mary, full of grace. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen, o my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of hell. Lead all souls to heaven, especially those in most need of thy mercy. Hail, holy Queen, mother of Mercy, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious, advocate thine eyes of mercy toward us and, after this our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, o loving, o sweet Virgin Mary, pray for us, o Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen, o God, whose only begotten Son, by his life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life. Grant we beseech thee that, while meditating on these mysteries of the most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen, in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Thank you, holy Spirit. It is such a joy to pray with you and to pray for you, and we ask you to please, please, pray for us. Praise be to God.
